We consider a nonlinear parabolic boundary value problem of the Stefan type with one space variable, which generalizes the model of hydride formation under constant conditions. We suggest a grid method for constructing approximations to the unknown boundary and to the concentration distribution. We prove the uniform convergence of the interpolation approximations to a classical solution of the boundary value problem. (The boundary is smooth, and the concentration distribution has the necessary derivatives.) Thus, we prove the theorem on the existence of a solution, and the proof is given in constructive form: the suggested convergent grid method can be used for numerical experiments.  相似文献

We consider a boundary value problem for the Laplace operator in a model domain periodically perforated along the boundary. We assume that the homogeneous Neumann condition is posed on the exterior boundary and the homogeneous Dirichlet condition is posed on the boundary of the cavities. We construct and justify the asymptotic expansions of eigenelements of the boundary value problem.  相似文献

We consider a boundary value problem in a model domain periodically perforated along the boundary. We assume that the homogeneous Neumann condition is posed on the external boundary and the homogeneous Dirichlet condition is posed on the boundary of the cavities. A limit (homogenized) problem is obtained. We prove the convergence of the solutions, eigenvalues, and eigenfunctions of the original problem to the solutions, eigenvalues, and eigenfunctions, respectively, of the limit problem.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the uniqueness problem of a two-phase elliptic free boundary problem arising from the phase transition problem subject to given boundary data. We show that in general the comparison principle between the sub- and super-solutions does not hold, and there is no uniqueness of either a viscosity solution or a minimizer of this free boundary problem by constructing counter-examples in various cases in any dimension. In one-dimension, a bifurcation phenomenon presents and the uniqueness problem has been completely analyzed. In fact, the critical case signifies the change from uniqueness to non-uniqueness of a solution of the free boundary problem. Non-uniqueness of a solution of the free boundary problem suggests different physical stationary states caused by different processes, such as melting of ice or solidification of water, even with the same prescribed boundary data. However, we prove that a uniqueness theorem is true for the initial-boundary value problem of an ε-evolutionary problem which is the smoothed two-phase parabolic free boundary problem.  相似文献

We investigate the regularity of a free boundary near contact points with a fixed boundary, with C1,1 boundary data, for an obstacle-like free boundary problem. We will show that under certain assumptions on the solution, and the boundary function, the free boundary is uniformly C1 up to the fixed boundary. We will also construct some examples of irregular free boundaries.  相似文献

The present paper examines the problem of the axial loading of a rigid circular punch which is located at the debonded boundary of an elastic medium-rigid boundary interface. The mathematical analysis of the problem focusses primarily on the evaluation of the load-displacement response for the punch boundary of the debonded region. The numerical results presented in the paper illustrate the manner in which the axial stiffness of the punch is influenced by the Poisson's ratio of the elastic medium and the relative dimensions of the debonded region.  相似文献

An initial boundary value problem for a quasilinear equation of pseudoparabolic type with a nonlinear boundary condition of the Neumann–Dirichlet type is investigated in this work. From a physical point of view, the initial boundary value problem considered here is a mathematical model of quasistationary processes in semiconductors and magnets, which takes into account a wide variety of physical factors. Many approximate methods are suitable for finding eigenvalues and eigenfunctions in problems where the boundary conditions are linear with respect to the desired function and its derivatives. Among these methods, the Galerkin method leads to the simplest calculations. On the basis of a priori estimates, we prove a local existence theorem and uniqueness for a weak generalized solution of the initial boundary value problem for the quasilinear pseudoparabolic equation. A special place in the theory of nonlinear equations is occupied by the study of unbounded solutions, or, as they are called in another way, blow-up regimes. Nonlinear evolutionary problems admitting unbounded solutions are globally unsolvable. In the article, sufficient conditions for the blow-up of a solution in a finite time in a limited area with a nonlinear Neumann–Dirichlet boundary condition are obtained.  相似文献

The two-dimensional (plane) problem of a hypersonic kinetic boundary layer developing on a thin body in the case of a homogeneous polyatomic gas flow with no dissociation or electron excitation is considered assuming that energy exchange between translational and internal molecular degrees of freedom is easy. (The approximation of a hypersonic kinetic boundary layer arises from the kinetic theory of gases and, within the thin-layer model, takes into account the strong nonequilibrium of the hypersonic flow with respect to translational and internal degrees of freedom of the gas particles.) A method is proposed for constructing the solution of the given kinetic problem in terms of a given solution of an equivalent well-studied classical Navier-Stokes hypersonic boundary layer problem (which is traditionally formulated on the basis of the Navier-Stokes equations).  相似文献

A certain one-phase problem with free boundary is studied. The local (in time) solvability of this problem is proved; moreover, the general method elaborated is applied in a more concrete case. For this purpose, a new change of variables and the parametrization of the boundary are introduced, and the problem studied is reduced to a problem in a constant domain.  相似文献

We consider a three-dimensional boundary value problem for the Laplace equation on a thin plane screen with boundary conditions for the “directional derivative”: boundary conditions for the derivative of the unknown function in the directions of vector fields defined on the screen surface are posed on each side of the screen. We study the case in which the direction of these vector fields is close to the direction of the normal to the screen surface. This problem can be reduced to a system of two boundary integral equations with singular and hypersingular integrals treated in the sense of the Hadamard finite value. The resulting integral equations are characterized by the presence of integral-free terms that contain the surface gradient of one of the unknown functions. We prove the unique solvability of this system of integral equations and the existence of a solution of the considered boundary value problem and its uniqueness under certain assumptions.  相似文献

The problem of diffraction of a creeping wave propagating in a domain near the convex part of the boundary and overrunning a point where the convex boundary transforms to the concave one is studied. The tangent to the boundary is continuous at this point, but the derivative of the tangent has the jump. The Green's function to the right of the point of jump of curvature is a superposition of whispering gallery waves. The Dirichlet, Neumann, and impedance boundary conditions are considered. The formulas for the boundary current and for the diffraction coefficients related to the problem are obtained. Bibliography: 3 titles. The paper is concerned with the study of an elliptic boundary value problem with a nonlinear Newton boundary condition. The existence and uniqueness of the solution of the continuous problem is established with the aid of the monotone operator theory. The main attention is paid to the investigation of the finite element approximation using numerical integration for the computation of nonlinear boundary integrals. The solvability of the discrete finite element problem is proved and the convergence of the approximate solutions to the exact one is analysed. In the present work the linearized problem of plasma wave reflection from a boundary of a half-space is solved analytically. Specular accommodative conditions of plasma wave reflection from plasma boundary are taken into consideration. Wave reflectance is found as function of the given parameters of the problem, and its dependence on the normal electron momentum accommodation coefficient is shown by the authors. The case of resonance when the frequency of self-consistent electric field oscillations is close to the electron (Langmuir) plasma oscillations frequency, namely, the case of long-wave limit is analyzed in the present paper.  相似文献

The two-dimensional nonequilibrium hypersonic free jet boundary layer gas flow in the near wake of a body is studied using a closed system of macroscopic equations obtained (as a thin-layer version) from moment equations of kinetic origin for a polyatomic single-component gas with internal degrees of freedom. (This model is can be used to study flows with strong violations of equilibrium with respect to translational and internal degrees of freedom.) The solution of the problem under study (i.e., the kinetic model of a nonequilibrium homogeneous polyatomic gas flow in a free jet boundary layer) is shown to be related to the known solution of the well-studied simpler problem of a Navier-Stokes free jet boundary layer, and a method based on this relation is proposed for solving the former problem. It is established that the gas flow velocity distribution along the separating streamline in the kinetic problem of a free jet boundary layer coincides with the distribution obtained by solving the Navier-Stokes version of the problem. It is found that allowance for the nonequilibrium nature of the flow with respect to the internal and translational degrees of freedom of a single-component polyatomic gas in a hypersonic free jet boundary layer has no effect on the base pressure and the wake angle.  相似文献

We study the Neumann boundary stabilization problem of a coupled transport-diffusion system in the case where the observation is done at the boundary. In the recent paper of Sano and Nakagiri [H. Sano, S. Nakagiri, Stabilization of a coupled transport-diffusion system with boundary input, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 363 (2010) 57-72], we treated the stabilization problem for the case with Neumann boundary control and distributed observation. The novelty of this paper is the formulation of the boundary observation equation in a Hilbert space. We have an interesting result of its being expressed by using an -bounded operator with . Moreover, it is shown that a reduced-order model with a finite-dimensional state variable is controllable and observable. This means that one can always construct a finite-dimensional stabilizing controller for the original infinite-dimensional system by using a residual mode filter (RMF) approach.  相似文献

It is proved that a previously proposed method for transferring boundary conditions as applied to a boundary value problem for a linear system of ordinary differential equations gives numerically stable results if this problem is stable with respect to small variations in the input data.  相似文献

A homogeneous second order differential equation with homogeneous boundary conditions dependent on the parameter, is investigated. Such an equation is obtained in the course of solution of the problem of characteristic oscillations of an ideal incompressible fluid in an elastic vessel, when the method of separation of variables is used. We prove the completeness of the system of eigenfunctions of our boundary value problem and we derive the expansion of an arbitrary, piecewise-continuous function into a series in terms of these eigenfunctions.  相似文献

In this work, we are interested in the dynamic behavior of a parabolic problem with nonlinear boundary conditions and delay in the boundary. We construct a reaction–diffusion problem with delay in the interior, where the reaction term is concentrated in a neighborhood of the boundary and this neighborhood shrinks to boundary, as a parameter ? goes to zero. We analyze the limit of the solutions of this concentrated problem and prove that these solutions converge in certain continuous function spaces to the unique solution of the parabolic problem with delay in the boundary. This convergence result allows us to approximate the solution of equations with delay acting on the boundary by solutions of equations with delay acting in the interior and it may contribute to analyze the dynamic behavior of delay equations when the delay is at the boundary.  相似文献

Under study is some singular elliptic boundary value problem in a domain of the Lobachevskii plane with an isolated boundary point. We introduce the new function spaces that coincide with the spaces of Sobolev-Nikol’skii-Besov type outside the singular point, and the concept of σ-trace at the singular point. The main result is a proof that the singular boundary value problem is uniquely solvable.  相似文献

In a Hilbert space H, we study the Fredholm property of a boundary value problem for a fourth-order differential-operator equation of elliptic type with unbounded operators in the boundary conditions. We find sufficient conditions on the operators in the boundary conditions for the problem to be Fredholm. We give applications of the abstract results to boundary value problems for fourth-order elliptic partial differential equations in nonsmooth domains.  相似文献
