Summary In this paper we solve the functional equationx(u + v)(u – v) = f 1(u)g1(v) + f2(u)g2(v) under the assumption thatx, , f 1, f2, g1, g2 are complex-valued functions onR n ,n N arbitrary, and 0 and 0 are continuous. Our main result shows that, apart from degeneracy and some obvious modifications, theta functions of one complex variable are the only continuous solutions of this functional equation.  相似文献

We prove theorems on the lower semicontinuity and integral representations of the lower semicontinuous envelopes of integral functionals with integrands L of fast growth: c 1 G(|Du|) + c 2 L c 3 G(|Du|) + c 4 with c 3 c 1 > 0 and G : [0, [ [0, [ is an increasing convex function such that vG (v)/G(v) as v and is increasing for large v. Repeating the results for the case of the standard growth (G() = ||p) the quasiconvexity of integrands characterizes the lower semicontinuity of integral functionals and their quasiconvexifications yield the integral functionals that are lower semicontinuous envelopes.Original Russian Text Copyright © 2005 Sychev M. Regularity, extinction rate, and asymptotic behavior of t(x) are also studied. Using the existence theorem for quasi-conformal mappings, it is possible to prove that there exists a multivalued germS at 0, such thatS(ze 2i )=HS(z) (1). IfH is an unfolding of diffeomorphisms depending on (,0), withH 0=Id, one introduces its ideal . It is the ideal generated by the germs of coefficients (a i (), 0) at 0 k , whereH (z)–z=a i ()z i . Then one can find a parameter solutionS (z) of (1) which has at each pointz 0 belonging to the domain of definition ofS 0, an expansion in seriesS (z)=z+b i ()(z–z 0) i with , for alli.This result may be applied to the bifurcation theory of vector fields of the plane. LetX be an unfolding of analytic vector fields at 0 2 such that this point is a hyperbolic saddle point for each . LetH (z) be the holonomy map ofX at the saddle point and its associated ideal of coefficients. A consequence of the above result is that one can find analytic intervals , , transversal to the separatrices of the saddle point, such that the difference between the transition mapD (z) and the identity is divisible in the ideal . Finally, suppose thatX is an unfolding of a saddle connection for a vector fieldX 0, with a return map equal to identity. It follows from the above result that the Bautin ideal of the unfolding, defined as the ideal of coefficients of the difference between the return map and the identity at any regular pointz, can also be computed at the singular pointz=0. One considers the class G of holomorphic functions in a domain G, whose values are contractions in a separable Hilbert space. It is proved that if T(·) G , T(z0) is a weak contraction, its singular part Ts(z0) is complete, and the increments T(z)–T(z0) are not too large (for example, finite-dimensional), then the operator Ts(z0) is complete for almost all zG. Convergence rates of Newton-Goldstein sequences are estimated for convex constrained minimization problems with singular solutions, i.e., solutions at which the local quadratic approximationQ(, x) to the objective functionF grows more slowly than x – 2 for admissible vectorsx near. For a large class of iterative minimization methods with quadratic subproblems, it is shown that the valuesr n =F(x n )–inf F are of orderO(n –1/3) at least. For the Newton—Goldstein method this estimate is sharpened slightly tor n =O(n –1/2) when the second Fréchet differentialF is Lipschitz continuous and the admissible set is bounded. Still sharper estimates are derived when certain growth conditions are satisfied byF or its local linear approximation at. The most surprising conclusion is that Newton—Goldstein sequences can convergesuperlinearly to a singular extremal whenF(), x – Ax – v for someA > 0, somev (2,2.5) and allx in near, and that this growth condition onF() is entirely natural for a nontrivial class of constrained minimization problems on feasible sets = 1{[0,1],U} withU a uniformly convex set in d . Feasible sets of this kind are commonly encountered in the optimal control of continuous-time dynamical systems governed by differential equations, and may be viewed as infinite-dimensional limits of Cartesian product setsU k in kd . For a class of algorithms R satisfying sufficiently general conditions and an enumeration of the algorithms of this class, it is proved that if the algorithm from R with code m in this enumeration algorithmically decides a property, nontrivial to N1 and invariant (with respect to extensional equality) up to N, then for N max (t2(c)t5(N1, t2(a)) one has m t–3(N), where the constantsa, c and the function t are indicated in the text of the paper, t–3(N) is used instead of t–1(t–1(t–1(N))), and finally, t–1(x)=yx[t(y)x]. For natural enumerations the constantsa, c are not large, and the function t does not grow too rapidly.
