In this paper, a numerical solution of the (2+1)-dimensional coupled Burgers system is studied by using the Homotopy Perturbation Method (HPM). For this purpose, the available analytical solutions obtained by tanh method will be compared to show the validity and accuracy of the proposed numerical algorithm. The results approve the convergence and accuracy of the Homotopy Perturbation Method for numerically analyzed (2+1) coupled Burgers system.  相似文献

Reconstruction of Variational Iteration Method (RVIM) is used for computing the coupled Whitham-Broer-Kaup shallow water. Then RVIM solution is verified against exact one and is compared with powerful approximate solutions, the Homotopy Perturbation Method (HPM) and Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM). The existent error of the methods is computed and convergence of the RVIM solution has been presented. Results obtained expose effectiveness and capability of this method to solve the nonlinear systems in mechanics, analytically.  相似文献

Consideration is given to the homoclinic solutions of ordinary differential equations. We first review the Melnikov analysis to obtain Melnikov function, when the perturbation parameter is zero and when the differential equation has a hyperbolic equilibrium. Since Melnikov analysis fails, using Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM, see [Liao SJ. Beyond perturbation: introduction to the homotopy analysis method. Then we show that the Melnikov type function can be obtained as a special case of this homotopy analysis method. Finally, homoclinic solutions are obtained (for nontrivial examples) analytically by HAM, and are presented through graphs.  相似文献

In this paper, a Laplace homotopy perturbation method is employed for solving one-dimensional non-homogeneous partial differential equations with a variable coefficient. This method is a combination of the Laplace transform and the Homotopy Perturbation Method (LHPM). LHPM presents an accurate methodology to solve non-homogeneous partial differential equations with a variable coefficient. The aim of using the Laplace transform is to overcome the deficiency that is mainly caused by unsatisfied conditions in other semi-analytical methods such as HPM, VIM, and ADM. The approximate solutions obtained by means of LHPM in a wide range of the problem’s domain were compared with those results obtained from the actual solutions, the Homotopy Perturbation Method (HPM) and the finite element method. The comparison shows a precise agreement between the results, and introduces this new method as an applicable one which it needs fewer computations and is much easier and more convenient than others, so it can be widely used in engineering too.  相似文献

Three new analytical approximate techniques for addressing nonlinear problems are applied to Jeffery–Hamel flow. Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM), Homotopy Perturbation Method (HPM) and Differential Transformation Method (DTM) are proposed and used in this research. These methods are very useful and applicable for solving nonlinear problems. Then, the results are compared with numerical results and the validity of these methods is shown. Comparison between obtained results showed that HAM is more acceptable and accurate than two other methods. Ultimately, the effects of Reynolds number and divergent and convergent model of the channel on features of the flow are discussed.  相似文献

The Homotopy Analysis Method of Liao [Liao SJ. Beyond perturbation: introduction to the Homotopy Analysis Method. Boca Raton: Chapman & Hall/CRC Press; 2003] has proven useful in obtaining analytical solutions to various nonlinear differential equations. In this method, one has great freedom to select auxiliary functions, operators, and parameters in order to ensure the convergence of the approximate solutions and to increase both the rate and region of convergence. We discuss in this paper the selection of the initial approximation, auxiliary linear operator, auxiliary function, and convergence control parameter in the application of the Homotopy Analysis Method, in a fairly general setting. Further, we discuss various convergence requirements on solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, approximate and/or exact analytical solutions of the generalized Emden–Fowler type equations in the second-order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) are obtained by homotopy-perturbation method (HPM). The homotopy-perturbation method (HPM) is a coupling of the perturbation method and the homotopy method. The main feature of the HPM is that it deforms a difficult problem into a set of problems which are easier to solve. In this work, HPM yields solutions in convergent series forms with easily computable terms, and in some cases, only one iteration leads to the high accuracy of the solutions. Comparisons with the exact solutions and the solutions obtained by the Adomian decomposition method (ADM) show the efficiency of HPM in solving equations with singularity.  相似文献

In this paper, we apply the homotopy analysis method (HAM) and the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) to obtain approximate analytical solutions of the coupled Schrodinger-KdV equation. The results show that HAM is a very efficient method and that HPM is a special case of HAM.  相似文献

In this paper, approximate and/or exact analytical solutions of singular initial value problems (IVPs) of the Emden–Fowler type in the second-order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) are obtained by the homotopy analysis method (HAM). The HAM solutions contain an auxiliary parameter which provides a convenient way of controlling the convergence region of the series solutions. It is shown that the solutions obtained by the Adomian decomposition method (ADM) and the homotopy-perturbation method (HPM) are only special cases of the HAM solutions.  相似文献

This paper presents a modified Laplace transform homotopy perturbation method with finite boundary conditions (MLT–HPM) designed to improve the accuracy of the approximate solutions obtained by LT–HPM and other methods. To this purpose, a suitable initial approximation will be introduced, in addition, the residual error in several points of the interest interval (RECP) will be canceled. In order to prove the efficiency of the proposed method a couple of nonlinear ordinary differential equations with mixed boundary conditions, indeed, difficult to approximate, are proposed. The square residual error (S.R.E) of the proposed solutions will result to be of hundredths and tenths, requiring only a first order approximation of MLT–HPM, unlike LT–HPM, which will require more iterations for the same cases study.  相似文献

In this work, the homotopy analysis method (HAM), one of the most effective method, is implemented for finding approximate solutions of the Burger and regularized long wave (RLW) equations. Comparisons are made between the results of the proposed method and homotopy perturbation method (HPM). It illustrates the validity and the great potential of the homotopy analysis method in solving nonlinear partial differential equations.  相似文献

In this paper, Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM) is applied to numerically approximate the eigenvalues of the fractional Sturm-Liouville problems. The eigenvalues are not unique. These multiple solutions, i.e., eigenvalues, can be calculated by starting the HAM algorithm with one and the same initial guess and linear operator L\mathcal{L}. It can be seen in this paper that the auxiliary parameter (h/2p),\hbar, which controls the convergence of the HAM approximate series solutions, has another important application. This important application is predicting and calculating multiple solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the axi-symmetric flow between two infinite stretching disks. By using a similarity transformation, we reduce the governing Navier-Stokes equations to a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. We first obtain analytical solutions via a four-term perturbation method for small and large values of the Reynolds number R. Also, we apply the Homotopy Analysis Method (which may be used for all values of R) to obtain analytical solutions. These solutions converge over a larger range of values of the Reynolds number than the perturbation solutions. Our results agree well with the numerical results of Fang and Zhang [22]. Furthermore, we obtain the analytical solutions valid for moderate values of R by use of Homotopy Analysis.  相似文献

The theoretical model of Martens and Hall [N. Martens, E.A.H. Hall, Model for an immobilized oxidase enzyme electrode in the presence of two oxidants, Anal. Chem. 66 (1994) 2763–2770] in an immobilized oxidase enzyme electrodes is discussed. This model contains a non-linear term related to enzyme reaction system. In this paper, we obtain approximate analytical solutions for the non-linear equations under steady-state condition by using the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) and homotopy analysis method (HAM). Simple and approximate polynomial expressions for the concentration of substrate, oxygen, reduced mediator and current were obtained in terms of Thiele moduli and the normalized surface concentrations of species. Furthermore, in this work the numerical simulation of the problem is also reported using Scilab/Matlab program. An agreement between analytical and numerical results is noted.  相似文献

In this article, we present the Homotopy Perturbation Method (Shortly HPM) for obtaining the numerical solutions of the Korteweg‐de Vries Burgers (KdVB) equation. The series solutions are developed and the reccurance relations are given explicity. The initial approximation can be freely chosen with possibly unknown constants which can be determined by imposing the boundary and initial conditions. The results reveal that HPM is very simple and effective. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq 2010  相似文献

In this paper, numerical analysis of the coupled Schrödinger–KdV equation is studied by using the Homotopy Perturbation Method (HPM). The available analytical solutions of the coupled Schrödinger–KdV equation obtained by multiple traveling wave method are compared with HPM to examine the accuracy of the method. The numerical results validate the convergence and accuracy of the Homotopy Perturbation Method for the analyzed coupled Schrödinger–KdV equation.  相似文献

In this article, we try to obtain approximate Jacobi elliptic function solutions of the (1 + 1)‐dimensional long wave equation using Homotopy Perturbation Method. This method deforms a difficult problem into a simple problem which can be easily solved. In comparison with HPM, numerical methods leads to inaccurate results when the equation intensively depends on time, while He's method overcome the above shortcomings completely and can therefore be widely applicable in engineering. As a result, we obtain the approximate solution of the (1 + 1)‐dimensional long wave equation with initial conditions. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this paper, an Optimal Homotopy Analysis Method (Optimal HAM) is applied to solve the linear optimal control problems (OCPs), which have a quadratic performance index. This approach contains at most two convergence-control parameters which depend on the control system and is computationally rather efficient. A squared residual error for the system is defined, which can be used to find the unknown optimal convergence-control parameters by using Mathematica package BVPh (version 2.0). The results of comparisons among the proposed method, the homotopy perturbation method (HPM), the Adomian decomposition method (ADM), the differential transform method (DTM) and the homotopy analysis method (HAM) provide verification for the validity of the proposed approach. Moreover, numerical results are presented by several examples involving scalar and 2nd-order systems to clarify the efficiency and high accuracy of the proposed approach.  相似文献

In this study, linear and nonlinear partial differential equations with the nonhomogeneous initial conditions are considered. We used Variational iteration method (VIM) and Homotopy perturbation method (HPM) for solving these equations. Both methods are used to obtain analytic solutions for different types of differential equations. Four examples are presented to show the application of the present techniques. In these schemes, the solution takes the form of a convergent series with easily computable components. The present methods perform extremely well in terms of efficiency and simplicity. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq 2010  相似文献

In this paper, the homotopy analysis method (HAM) proposed by Liao in 1992 and the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) proposed by He in 1998 are compared through an evolution equation used as the second example in a recent paper by Ganji et al. [D.D. Ganji, H. Tari, M.B. Jooybari, Variational iteration method and homotopy perturbation method for nonlinear evolution equations. Comput. Math. Appl. 54 (2007) 1018–1027]. It is found that the HPM is a special case of the HAM when =-1. However, the HPM solution is divergent for all x and t except t=0. It is also found that the solution given by the variational iteration method (VIM) is divergent too. On the other hand, using the HAM, one obtains convergent series solutions which agree well with the exact solution. This example illustrates that it is very important to investigate the convergence of approximation series. Otherwise, one might get useless results.  相似文献
