We deal with (n−1)-generated modules of smooth (analytic, holomorphic) vector fieldsV=(X 1,..., Xn−1) (codimension 1 differential systems) defined locally on ℝ n or ℂ n , and extend the standard duality(X 1,..., Xn−1)↦(ω), ω=Ω(X1,...,Xn−1,.,) (Ω−a volume form) betweenV′s and 1-generated modules of differential 1-forms (Pfaffian equations)—when the generatorsX i are linearly independent—onto substantially wider classes of codimension 1 differential systems. We prove that two codimension 1 differential systemsV and are equivalent if and only if so are the corresponding Pfaffian equations (ω) and provided that ω has1-division property: ωΛμ=0, μ—any 1-form ⇒ μ=fω for certain function germf. The 1-division property of ω turns out to be equivalent to the following properties ofV: (a)fX∈V, f—not a 0-divisor function germ ⇒X∈V (thedivision property); (b) (V )=V; (c)V =(ω); (d) (ω)=V, where ⊥ denotes the passing from a module (of vector fields or differential 1-forms) to its annihilator. We continue the study of arithmetic partial differential equations initiated in [7] by classifying “arithmetic convection equations” on modular curves, and by describing their space of solutions. Certain of these solutions involve the Fourier expansions of the Eisenstein modular forms of weight 4 and 6, while others involve the Serre-Tate expansions (Mori, 1995 [13], Buium, 2003 [4]) of the same modular forms; in this sense, our arithmetic convection equations can be seen as “unifying” the two types of expansions. The theory can be generalized to one of “arithmetic heat equations” on modular curves, but we prove that they do not carry “arithmetic wave equations.” Finally, we prove an instability result for families of arithmetic heat equations converging to an arithmetic convection equation.  相似文献

We develop an arithmetic analogue of linear partial differential equations in two independent “space-time” variables. The spatial derivative is a Fermat quotient operator, while the time derivative is the usual derivation. This allows us to “flow” integers or, more generally, points on algebraic groups with coordinates in rings with arithmetic flavor. In particular, we show that elliptic curves carry certain canonical “arithmetic flows” that are arithmetic analogues of the convection, heat, and wave equations, respectively. The same is true for the additive and the multiplicative group.  相似文献

The first aim of the paper is to study the Hermitizability of secondorder differential operators, and then the corresponding isospectral operators. The explicit criteria for the Hermitizable or isospectral properties are presented. The second aim of the paper is to study a non-Hermitian model, which is now well known. In a regular sense, the model does not belong to the class of Hermitizable operators studied in this paper, but we will use the theory developed in the past years, to present an alternative and illustrated proof of the discreteness of its spectrum. The harmonic function plays a critical role in the study of spectrum. Two constructions of the function are presented. We first prove that a Riemannian manifold with globally constant additive Weyl invariants is locally homogeneous. Then we use this result to show that a manifold whose Laplacian commutes with all invariant differential operators is a locally homogeneous space.

The main purpose of the paper is looking for a larger class of matrices which have real spectrum. The first well-known class having this property is the symmetric one, then is the Hermite one. This paper introduces a new class, called Hermitizable matrices. The closely related isospectral problem, not only for matrices but also for differential operators is also studied. The paper provides a way to describe the discrete spectrum, at least for tridiagonal matrices or one-dimensional differential operators. Especially, an unexpected result in the paper says that each Hermitizable matrix is isospectral to a birth–death type matrix (having positive sub-diagonal elements, in the irreducible case for instance). Besides, new efficient algorithms are proposed for computing the maximal eigenpairs of these class of matrices.  相似文献
