Suppose that (,) is a -finite measure space, and 1 < p < . Let T:Lp( L p() be a bounded invertible linear operator such that T and T –1 are positive. Denote by n(T) the nth two-sided ergodic average of T, taken in the form of the nth (C,1) mean of the sequence {Tj+T–j}j =1 . Martín-Reyes and de la Torre have shown that the existence of a maximal ergodic estimate for T is characterized by either of the following two conditions: (a) the strong convergence of En(T)n=1 ; (b) a uniform A p p estimate in terms of discrete weights generated by the pointwise action on of certain measurable functions canonically associated with T. We show that strong convergence of the (C,2) means of {Tj+T–j}j=1 already implies (b). For this purpose the (C,2) means are used to set up an `averaged' variant of the requisite uniform A p weight estimates in (b). This result, which can be viewed as a Tauberian-Type replacement of (C,1) means by (C,2) means in (a), leads to a spectral-theoretic characterization of the maximal ergodic estimate by application of a recent result of the authors establishing the strong convergence of the (C,2)-weighted ergodic means for all trigonometrically well-bounded operators. This application also serves to equate uniform boundedness of the rotated Hilbert averages of T with the uniform boundedness of the ergodic averages En(T)n = 1 .  相似文献

We study the Neumann Laplacian of unbounded regions in n with cusps at infinity so that the corresponding Dirichlet Laplacian has compact resolvent. Typical of our results is that of the region {(x, y)2x, y|<1} the Neumann Laplacian has absolutely continuous spectrum [0, ) of uniform multiplicity four and an infinity of eigenvaluesE o<E 1... and that for the region {(x, y)2y|1}, it has absolutely continuous spectrum [1/4, ) of uniform multiplicity 2 and an infinity of eigenvaluesE 0=0<E 1.... Let be an Artin algebra, let mod be the category of finitely generated -modules, and let Amod be a contravariantly finite and extension closed subcategory. For an indecomposable and not Ext-projective module CA, we compute the almost split sequence 0ABC0 in A from the almost split sequence 0DTrCEC0 in mod. Since the computation is particularly simple if the minimal right A-approximation of DTrC is indecomposable for all indecomposable and not Ext-projective CA, we manufacture subcategories A with the desired property using orthogonal subcategories. The method of orthogonal subcategories is applied to compute almost split sequences for relatively projective and prinjective modules.  相似文献

The Lotka-Volterra model is converted into a Hamiltonian system. For this system the Gibbs state and the thermodynamic functions as free energy, entropy, expectation and variances of the Hamiltonian and its summands are calculated together with expansions for low and high temperature –1.Since the canonical partition functionZ (, , ) is the Laplace transform of the energy-period functionT(E, , ), we obtain expansions ofT (E, , ) for small and large energyE=H (p, q) and arbitrary parameters, by inverse Laplace transformation of the partition functionZ (, , ). Expansions of the partial orbit times T±±, i.e. the part of the periodT with predator and prey above or below equilibrium values, are available, too. Zusammenfassung Das Lotka-Volterra Modell wird in ein Hamiltonsches System umgeformt. Für dieses System kann man den Gibbszustand und die thermodynamischen Funktionen wie freie Energie, Entropie sowie Erwartungswerte und Varianzen der Hamiltonfunktion und ihrer Summanden berechnen und Entwicklungen für niedrige als auch hohe Temperatur –1 angeben.Da die kanonische ZustandssummeZ (, , ) die Laplacetransformierte der Energie-Perioden FunktionT=T(E, , ) ist, erhält man durch Umkehrung der Laplacetransformation Entwicklungen vonT (E, , ) für kleine sowie große EnergieE=H(p, q). Durch spezielle Manipulationen bekommt man sogar Entwicklungen der PeriodenteileT ±±, das sind die Intervalle während denen Räuber bzw. Beute ober- bzw. unterhalb der Gleichgewichte liegen. Mit Hilfe einer Darstellung vonT(E, , ) als Faltungsintegral beweist man globale Ungleichungen, z. B. ist die Funktion (log (E/), log (E/)) log (ET) (E, , ) auf dem ganzen DefinitionsbereichR 2 konvex und (E/T) (T/E) (0,1).Schlußendlich läßt sich die analytische Fortsetzung der FunktionT(E, , ) in die linke sowie rechte Halbebene ReE< 0 bzw. The main result of this paper is the equivalence of several definition schemas of bar recursion occurring in the literature on functionals of finite type. We present the theory of functionals of finite type, in [T] denoted byqf-WE-HA , which is necessary for giving the equivalence proofs. Moreover we prove two results on this theory that cannot be found in the literature, namely the deduction theorem and a derivation of Spector's rule of extensionality from [S]: ifPT 1=T 2 and Q[XT1], then PQ[X T2], from the at first sight weaker rule obtained by omitting P.  相似文献

The main result is a control theorem for the structure space of E with control near the leaves F in M, where : E M is a fiber bundle over the Riemannian manifold M having a compact closed manifold for fiber and F is a smooth foliation of M, each leaf of which inherits a flat Riemannian geometry from M.
