A new triphenylamine‐containing aromatic diamine monomer, N,N‐bis(4‐aminophenyl)‐N,N′‐bis(4‐tert‐butylphenyl)‐1,4‐phenylenediamine, was synthesized by an established synthetic procedure from readily available reagents. A novel family of electroactive polyamides with di‐tert‐butyl‐substituted N,N,N,N′‐tetraphenyl‐1,4‐phenylenediamine units were prepared via the phosphorylation polyamidation reactions of the newly synthesized diamine monomer with various aromatic or aliphatic dicarboxylic acids. All the polymers were amorphous with good solubility in many organic solvents, such as N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidinone (NMP) and N,N‐dimethylacetamide, and could be solution‐cast into tough and flexible polymer films. The polyamides derived from aromatic dicarboxylic acids had useful levels of thermal stability, with glass‐transition temperatures of 269–296 °C, 10% weight‐loss temperatures in excess of 544 °C, and char yields at 800 °C in nitrogen higher than 62%. The dilute solutions of these polyamides in NMP exhibited strong absorption bands centered at 316–342 nm and photoluminescence maxima around 362–465 nm in the violet‐blue region. The polyamides derived from aliphatic dicarboxylic acids were optically transparent in the visible region and fluoresced with a higher quantum yield compared with those derived from aromatic dicarboxylic acids. The hole‐transporting and electrochromic properties were examined by electrochemical and spectro‐electrochemical methods. Cyclic voltammograms of the polyamide films cast onto an indium‐tin oxide‐coated glass substrate exhibited two reversible oxidation redox couples at 0.57–0.60 V and 0.95–0.98 V versus Ag/AgCl in acetonitrile solution. The polyamide films revealed excellent elcterochemical and electrochromic stability, with a color change from a colorless or pale yellowish neutral form to green and blue oxidized forms at applied potentials ranging from 0.0 to 1.2 V. These anodically coloring polymeric materials showed interesting electrochromic properties, such as high coloration efficiency (CE = 216 cm2/C for the green coloring) and high contrast ratio of optical transmittance change (ΔT%) up to 64% at 424 nm and 59% at 983 nm for the green coloration, and 90% at 778 nm for the blue coloration. The electroactivity of the polymer remains intact even after cycling 500 times between its neutral and fully oxidized states. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new triphenylamine‐containing aromatic diamine, N, N′‐bis(4‐aminophenyl)‐N, N′‐diphenyl‐1,4‐phenylenediamine, was prepared by the condensation of N,N′‐diphenyl‐1,4‐phenylenediamine with 4‐fluoronitrobenzene, followed by catalytic reduction. A series of novel aromatic polyamides with triphenylamine units were prepared from the diamine and various aromatic dicarboxylic acids or their diacid chlorides via the direct phosphorylation polycondensation or low‐temperature solution polycondensation. All the polyamides were amorphous and readily soluble in many organic solvents such as N, N‐dimethylacetamide and N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone. These polymers could be solution cast into transparent, tough, and flexible films with good mechanical properties. They had useful levels of thermal stability associated with relatively high glass‐transition temperatures (257–287 °C), 10% weight‐loss temperatures in excess of 550 °C, and char yields at 800 °C in nitrogen higher than 72%. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new triphenylamine‐containing aromatic dicarboxylic acid, N,N′‐bis(4‐carboxyphenyl)‐N,N′‐diphenyl‐1,4‐phenylenediamine, was synthesized by the condensation of N,N′‐diphenyl‐1,4‐phenylenediamine with 4‐fluorobenzonitrile, followed by the alkaline hydrolysis of the intermediate dinitrile compound. A series of novel triphenylamine‐based aromatic poly(amine amide)s with inherent viscosities of 0.50–1.02 dL/g were prepared from the diacid and various aromatic diamines by direct phosphorylation polycondensation. All the poly(amine amide)s were amorphous in nature, as evidenced by X‐ray diffractograms. Most of the poly(amine amide)s were quite soluble in a variety of organic solvents and could be solution‐cast into transparent, tough, and flexible films with good mechanical properties. They had useful levels of thermal stability associated with glass‐transition temperatures up to 280 °C, 10% weight‐loss temperatures in excess of 575 °C, and char yields at 800 °C in nitrogen higher than 60%. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We report the preparation and characterization of a series of novel electrochromic, aromatic poly(amine amide)s with pendent triphenylamine units. The synthesis proceeded via direct phosphorylation polycondensation between a novel diamine, N,N‐bis(4‐aminophenyl)‐N′,N′‐diphenyl‐1,4‐phenylenediamine, and various aromatic dicarboxylic acids. All the poly(amine amide)s were amorphous and readily soluble in many common organic solvents and could be solution‐cast into transparent, tough, and flexible films with good mechanical properties. They exhibited good thermal stability and 10% weight‐loss temperatures above 540 °C. Their glass‐transition temperatures were 263–290 °C. These polymers in N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidinone solutions exhibited strong ultraviolet–visible absorption peaks at 307–358 nm and photoluminescence peaks around 532–590 nm in the green region. The hole‐transporting and electrochromic properties were studied with electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical methods. Cyclic voltammograms of poly(amine amide) films prepared by the casting of polymer solutions onto an indium tin oxide coated glass substrate exhibited two reversible oxidation redox couples at 0.65 and 1.03 V versus Ag/AgCl in an acetonitrile solution. All the poly(amine amide)s showed excellent stability with respect to their electrochromic characteristics; the color of the films changed from pale yellow to green and then blue at 0.85 and 1.25 V, respectively. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new bis(triphenylamine)‐type dicarboxylic acid monomer, N,N‐bis(4‐carboxyphenyl)‐N′,N′‐bis(4‐tert‐butylphenyl)‐1,4‐phenylenediamine, was prepared by a well‐established procedure and led to a new family of redox‐active aromatic polyamides with di‐tert‐butyl‐substituted N,N,N′,N′‐tetraphenylphenylenediamine (TPPA) segments. The resulting polyamides were amorphous with good solubility in many organic solvents, and most of them could be solution cast into flexible polymer films. The polyamides exhibited high thermal stability with glass‐transition temperatures in the range of 247–293 °C and 10% weight‐loss temperatures in excess of 500 °C. They showed well‐defined and reversible redox couples during oxidative scanning, with a strong color change from a colorless or pale yellowish neutral form to green and blue oxidized forms. They had enhanced redox stability and electrochromic performance when compared with the corresponding analogs without tert‐butyl substituents on the TPPA unit. The polyamide with TPPA units in both the diacid and diamine components shows multicolored electrochromic behavior. A polyamide containing both the cathodic coloring anthraquinone chromophore and the anodic coloring TPPA chromophore has the ability to show red, green, and blue states, toward single‐component RGB electrochromics. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Starting with 3,3′,4,4′‐biphenyltetracarboxylic dianhydride and methyl aminobenzoate, we synthesized a novel rodlike imide‐containing monomer, N,N′‐bis[p‐(methoxy carbonyl) phenyl]‐biphenyl‐3,3′,4,4′‐tetracarboxydiimide (BMBI). The polycondensation of BMBI with dimethyl terephthalate and ethylene glycol yielded a series of copoly(ester imide)s based on the BMBI‐modified poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) backbone. Compared with PET, these BMBI‐modified polyesters had higher glass‐transition temperatures and higher stiffness and strength. In particular, the poly(ethylene terephthalate imide) PETI‐5, which contained 5 mol % of the imide moieties, had a glass‐transition temperature of 89.9 °C (11 °C higher than the glass‐transition temperature of PET), a tensile modulus of 869.4 MPa (20.2 % higher than that of PET), and a tensile strength of 80.8 MPa (38.8 % higher than that of PET). Therefore, a significant reinforcing effect was observed in these imide‐modified polyesters, and a new approach to higher property polyesters was suggested. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new facile and rapid polycondensation reaction of 4,4′‐(hexafluoroisopropylidene)‐N,N′‐bis(phthaloyl‐L‐leucine) diacid chloride (1) with several aromatic diamines, including benzidine (2a), 4,4′‐diaminodiphenyl methane (2b), 1,5‐diaminoanthraquinone (2c), 4,4′‐sulfonyldianiline (2d), 3,3′‐diaminobenzophenone (2e), P‐phenylenediamine (2f), 2,6‐diaminopyridine (2g), 4,4′‐diaminobenzophenone (2h), 2,4‐diaminotoluene (2i), and 4,4′‐diaminodiphenylether (2j), was developed with a domestic microwave oven in the presence of a small amount of a polar organic medium such as o‐cresol. The polymerization reactions proceeded rapidly compared to conventional solution polycondensation and finished within 12 min, producing a series of optically active poly(amide‐imide)s with quantitative yields and high inherent viscosities of 0.50–1.93 dL/g. All of the polymers were fully characterized by IR, elemental analyses, and specific rotation. Some structural characterization and physical properties of these optically active poly(amide‐imide)s are reported. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. New aromatic tetracarboxylic dianhydride, having isopropylidene and bromo‐substituted arylene ether structure 3,3′,5,5′‐tetrabromo‐2,2‐bis[4‐(3,4‐dicarboxyphenoxy)phenyl]propane dianhydride, was synthesized by the reaction of 4‐nitrophthalonitrile with 3,3′,5,5′‐tetrabromobisphenol A, followed by alkaline hydrolysis of the intermediate bis(ether dinitrile) and subsequent dehydration of the resulting bis(ether diacid). The novel aromatic polyetherimides having inherent viscosities up to 1.04 dL g−1 were obtained by either a one‐step or a conventional two‐step polymerization process starting from the bis(ether anhydride) and various aromatic diamines. All the polyimides showed typical amorphous diffraction patterns. Most of the polyimides were readily soluble in common organic solvents such as N,N‐dimethylacetamide (DMAc), N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone (NMP), pyridine, and even in less polar solvents like chloroform and tetrahydrofuran (THF). These aromatic polyimides had glass transition temperatures in the range of 256–303°C, depending on the nature of the diamine moiety. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) showed that all polymers were stable, with 10% weight loss recorded above 470°C in nitrogen. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. This report focuses on epoxy‐dicyandiamide (DICY) curing system accelerated by N‐aryl‐N′,N′‐dialkyl urea, aiming at clarifying the accelerating mechanism and the relationship between accelerating effect and molecular structure of the accelerators. Nine N‐aryl‐N′,N′‐dialkyl ureas were synthesized and investigated with measurements of differential scanning calorimetry, thermo gravimetric/differential thermal analysis and NMR spectroscopy. The results revealed that the ureas released the corresponding secondary amines by the thermal dissociation in the presence of epoxide, which led to the formation of tertiary amines that catalyze the addition reaction of DICY to epoxide. Moreover, a tendency that the ureas able to release more compact amines exhibited higher acceleration effects was discovered. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. New phenolic hydroxyl‐pendant aromatic polyimides were synthesized with the N‐silylated diamine method in two steps: the ring‐opening polyaddition of tetrakis(trimethylsilyl)‐substituted 4,4′‐diamino‐3,3′‐dihydroxybiphenyl to various aromatic tetracarboxylic dianhydrides, giving trimethylsiloxy‐pendant poly(amic acid) trimethylsilyl esters, and thermal imidization. The hydroxyl‐bearing polyimides were amorphous but insoluble in organic solvents. They had glass‐transition temperatures greater than 370 °C and temperatures of 10% weight loss greater than 415 °C in nitrogen. The hydroxyl‐pendant polypyromellitimide film had a high tensile strength and a high modulus of 310 MPa and 10 GPa, respectively. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel, trifluoromethyl‐substituted, bis(ether amine) monomer, 1,4‐bis(4‐amino‐2‐trifluoromethylphenoxy)naphthalene, was synthesized through the nucleophilic displacement of 2‐chloro‐5‐nitrobenzotrifluoride with 1,4‐dihydroxynaphthalene in the presence of potassium carbonate in dimethyl sulfoxide, followed by catalytic reduction with hydrazine and Pd/C in ethanol. A series of new fluorine‐containing polyimides with inherent viscosities of 0.57–0.91 dL/g were prepared by reacting the diamine with six commercially available aromatic dianhydrides via a conventional, two‐step thermal or chemical imidization method. Most of the resulting polyimides were soluble in strong polar solvents such as N‐methylpyrrolidone and N,N‐dimethylacetamide (DMAc). All the polyimides afforded transparent, flexible, and strong films with good tensile properties. These polyimides exhibited glass‐transition temperatures (Tg's) (by DSC) and softening temperatures (by thermomechanical analysis) in the ranges of 252–315 and 254–301 °C, respectively. Decomposition temperatures for 5% weight loss all occurred above 500 °C in both air and nitrogen atmospheres. The dielectric constants of these polyimides ranged from 3.03 to 3.71 at 1 MHz. In addition, a series of new, fluorinated polyamides with inherent viscosities of 0.32–0.62 dL/g were prepared by the direct polycondensation reaction the diamine with various aromatic dicarboxylic acids by means of triphenyl phosphite and pyridine. All the polyamides were soluble in polar solvents such as DMAc and could be solution‐cast into tough and flexible films. These polyamides had Tg's between 228 and 256 °C and 10% weight‐loss temperatures above 400 °C in nitrogen or air. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Poly(N‐acryloyl‐N′‐methylpiperazine) (PAMP) forms complexes with four strong acidic polymers, namely, poly(styrenesulfonic acid), poly(vinylphosphonic acid), poly(acrylic acid) and poly(methacrylic acid) in ethanol/water (1:1) solution. The nature of interpolymer interactions in various complexes was studied by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Both the carbonyl oxygen and the amide nitrogen of PAMP are involved in hydrogen‐bonding interactions. Some of the amine nitrogens of PAMP are protonated and therefore PAMP also interacts with the acidic polymers through ionic interactions. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. In a search for new insect growth regulators with unusual biological properties and different activity spectrum, we thought that the preservation of the bioactive unit and the introduction of 2‐methyl‐3‐(triphenylgermanyl)propoxycarbonyl in Ntert‐butyl‐N,N′‐dibenzoylhydrazine would enhance their larvicidal activities to a significant degree. Therefore, we designed and synthesized N′‐tert‐butyl‐N′‐[2‐methyl‐3‐(triphenylgermanyl)propoxycarbonyl]‐N‐benzoylhydrazine and analogs by two procedures. These novel compounds were characterized by elemental analyses, IR, and 1H NMR. At the same time, Ntert‐butyl‐N‐substitutedbenzoylhydrazines were prepared by a new method, and some reactions involved were studied. The preliminary results indicate that some compounds have inhibitory effects against plant pathogenetic bacteria such as early blight of tomato. Copyright © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A CF3‐containing diamine, 1,4‐bis(4‐amino‐2‐trifluromethylphenoxy) benzene ( I ), was prepared from hydroquinone and 2‐chloro‐5‐nitrobenzotrifluoride. Imide‐containing diacids ( V a–h and VI a,b ) were prepared through the condensation reaction of amino acids, aromatic diamines, and trimellitic anhydride. Then, a series of soluble fluorinated polyamides ( VII a–h ) and poly(amide imide)s ( VIII a–h and X a,b ) were synthesized from I with various aromatic diacids ( II a–h ) and imide‐containing diacids ( V a–h and VI a,b ) via direct polycondensation with triphenyl phosphate and pyridine. The polyamides and poly(amide imide)s had inherent viscosities of 1.00–1.70 and 0.79–1.34 dL/g, respectively. All the synthesized polymers showed excellent solubility in amide‐type solvents such as N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidinone, N,N‐dimethylacetamide, and N‐dimethylformamide and afforded transparent and tough films via solvent casting. Polymer films of VII a–h , VIII a–h , and X a,b had tensile strengths of 91–113 MPa, elongations to break of 8–40%, and initial moduli of 2.1–2.8 GPa. The glass‐transition temperatures of the polyamides and poly(amide imide)s were 254–276 and 255–292 °C, respectively, and the imide‐containing poly(amide imide)s had better thermal stability than the polyamides. The polyamides showed higher transparency and were much lighter in color than the poly(amide imide)s, and their cutoff wave numbers were below 400 nm. In comparison with isomeric IX c – h , poly(amide imide)s VIII c–h exhibited less coloring and showed lower yellowness indices. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The living synthesis of poly(1,3‐cyclohexadiene) was performed with an initiator adduct that was synthesized from a 1:2 (mol/mol) mixture of N,N,N,N′‐tetramethylethylenediamine (TMEDA) and n‐butyllithium. This initiator, which was preformed at 65 °C, facilitated the synthesis of high‐molecular‐weight poly(1,3‐cyclohexadiene) (number‐average molecular weight = 50,000 g/mol) with a narrow molecular weight distribution (weight‐average molecular weight/number‐average molecular weight = 1.12). A plot of the kinetic chain length versus the time indicated that termination was minimized and chain transfer to the monomer was eliminated when a preformed initiator adduct was used. Chain transfer was determined to occur when the initiator was generated in situ. The polymerization was highly sensitive to both the temperature and the choice of tertiary diamine. The use of the bulky tertiary diamines sparteine and dipiperidinoethane resulted in poor polymerization control and reduced polymerization rates (7.0 × 10−5 s−1) in comparison with TMEDA‐mediated polymerizations (1.5 × 10−4 s−1). A series of poly(1,3‐cyclohexadiene‐block‐isoprene) diblock copolymers were synthesized to determine the molar crossover efficiency of the polymerization. Polymerizations performed at 25 °C exhibited improved molar crossover efficiencies (93%) versus polymerizations performed at 40 °C (80%). The improved crossover efficiency was attributed to the reduction of termination events at reduced polymerization temperatures. The microstructure of these polymers was determined with 1H NMR spectroscopy, and the relationship between the molecular weight and glass‐transition temperature at an infinite molecular weight was determined for polymers containing 70% 1,2‐addition (150 °C) and 80% 1,4‐addition (138 °C). © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A polyvinylchloride membrane sensor based on N,N′‐bis(salecylidene)‐1,2‐phenylenediamine (salophen) as membrane carrier was prepared and investigated as a Al3+‐selective electrode. The sensor exhibits a Nernstian response toward Al(III) over a wide concentration range (8.0×10?7–3.0×10?2 M), with a detection limit of 6.0×10?7 M. The potentiometric response of the sensor is independent of the pH of the test solution in the pH range 3.2–4.5. The electrode possesses advantages of very fast response and high selectivity for Al3+ in comparison with alkali, alkaline earth and some heavy metal ions. The sensor was used as an indicator electrode, in the potentiometric titration of aluminum ion and in determination of Al3+ contents in drug, water and waste water samples.  相似文献

A series of poly(amide–imide)s IIIa–m containing flexible isopropylidene and ether groups in the backbone were synthesized by the direct polycondensation of 4,4′‐[1,4‐phenylenebis(isopropylidene‐1,4‐phenyleneoxy)]dianiline (PIDA) with various bis(trimellitimide)s IIa–m in N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone (NMP) using triphenyl phosphite and pyridine as condensing agents. The resulting poly(amide–imide)s had inherent viscosities in the range of 0.80–1.36 dL/g. Except for those from the bis(trimellitimide)s of p‐phenylenediamine and benzidine, all the polymers could be cast from DMAc into transparent and tough films. They exhibited excellent solubility in polar solvents. The 10% weight loss temperatures of the polymers in air and in nitrogen were all above 495°C, and their Tg values were in the range of 201–252°C. Some properties of poly(amide–imide)s III were compared with those of the corresponding poly(amide–imide)s V prepared from the bis(trimellitimide) of diamine PIDA and various aromatic diamines. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. A novel ligand, N,N,N′,N′,N″‐penta (methyl acrylate) diethylenetriamine (MA5‐DETA), was synthesized by the reaction of diethylenetriamine with methyl acrylate in almost quantitive yield. The polymerizations of methyl methacrylate with MA5‐DETA as the ligand and α,α‐dichlorotoluene (DCT) and ethyl 2‐bromoisobutyrate (2‐EBiB) as the initiators, respectively, under different conditions were examined. The polymerization with CuCl/MA5‐DETA/DCT was closely controlled in bulk and gave polymers with quite narrow molecular weight distributions (Mw/Mn's) of 1.16–1.29. The polymerization with the system CuBr/MA5‐DETA/EBiB in bulk gave high activity. However, the system was not well controlled and gave the polymers with Mw/Mn = 1.35–1.53. The solution polymerization in anisole with CuBr/MA5‐DETA/EBiB showed a better‐controlled nature. Moreover, the addition of CuBr2 into the aforementioned system can further improve its controllability. The Mw/Mn's of the resulting polymers ranged from 1.11 to 1.21. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
