We solve the problem of describing all nonlocal Hamiltonian operators of hydrodynamic type with flat metrics. This problem is equivalent to describing all flat submanifolds with flat normal bundle in a pseudo-Euclidean space. We prove that every such Hamiltonian operator (or the corresponding submanifold) specifies a pencil of compatible Poisson brackets, generates bihamiltonian integrable hierarchies of hydrodynamic type, and also defines a family of integrals in involution. We prove that there is a natural special class of such Hamiltonian operators (submanifolds) exactly described by the associativity equations of two-dimensional topological quantum field theory (the Witten-Dijkgraaf-Verlinde-Verlinde and Dubrovin equations). We show that each N-dimensional Frobenius manifold can locally be represented by a special flat N-dimensional submanifold with flat normal bundle in a 2N-dimensional pseudo-Euclidean space. This submanifold is uniquely determined up to motions.  相似文献

We introduce a class of k-potential submanifolds in pseudo-Euclidean spaces and prove that for an arbitrary positive integer k and an arbitrary nonnegative integer p, each N-dimensional Frobenius manifold can always be locally realized as an N-dimensional k-potential submanifold in ((k + 1)N + p)-dimensional pseudo-Euclidean spaces of certain signatures. For k = 1 this construction was proposed by the present author in a previous paper (2006). The realization of concrete Frobenius manifolds is reduced to solving a consistent linear system of second-order partial differential equations.  相似文献

本文研究了正交联络下子流形基本方程以及在全脐点子流形中的应用.利用Cartan的方法将挠率张量分解成三个部分,计算得到正交联络下的三个基本方程,并考虑一个特殊的正交联络,证明了其黎曼曲率会有类似于Levi-Civita联络下的性质.利用基本方程得到常曲率空间中的全脐点子流形的性质,推广了Levi-Civita联络下的相应结果.  相似文献

We give a procedure to ‘average’ canonically C1-close Legendrian submanifolds of contact manifolds. As a corollary we obtain that, whenever a compact group action leaves a Legendrian submanifold almost invariant, there is an invariant Legendrian submanifold nearby. We consider exact Lagrangian submanifolds in cotangent bundles. Under certain additional restrictions (triviality of the fundamental group of the cotangent bundle, and of the Maslov class and second Stiefel–Whitney class of the Lagrangian submanifold) we prove such submanifolds are Floer-cohomologically indistinguishable from the zero-section. This implies strong restrictions on their topology. An essentially equivalent result was recently proved independently by Nadler [16], using a different approach.  相似文献

A submanifold in a symmetric space is called equifocal if it has a globally flat abelian normal bundle and its focal data is invariant under normal parallel transportation. This is a generalization of the notion of isoparametric submanifolds in Euclidean spaces. To each equifocal submanifold, we can associate a Coxeter group, which is determined by the focal data at one point. In this paper we prove that an equifocal submanifold in a simply connected compact symmetric space is a non-trivial product of two such submanifolds if and only if its associated Coxeter group is decomposable. As a consequence, we get a similar splitting result for hyperpolar group actions on compact symmetric spaces. These results are an application of a splitting theorem for isoparametric submanifolds in Hilbert spaces by Heintze and Liu.

We define certain extensions of affine Weyl groups (distinct from these considered by K. Saito [S1] in the theory of extended affine root systems), prove an analogue of Chevalley Theorem for their invariants, and construct a Frobenius structure on their orbit spaces. We prove that every almost complex submanifold of an almost complex manifold is locally J-pluripolar. This generalizes a result of Rosay for J-holomorphic submanifolds. Our second main result is an almost complex version of El Mir’s theorem for the extension of positive currents across locally complete pluripolar sets. As a consequence, we extend some results proved by Dabbek–Elkhadhra–El Mir and Dinh–Sibony in the standard complex case. We also obtain a version of the well-known results of Federer and Bassanelli for flat and \mathbb C{\mathbb {C}}-flat currents in the almost complex setting.  相似文献

We prove a conjecture formulated by Pablo M. Chacon and Guillermo A. Lobos in [P.M. Chacon, G.A. Lobos, Pseudo-parallel Lagrangian submanifolds in complex space forms, Differential Geom. We prove that a complete non-compact submanifold in a complete manifold of partially non-negative sectional curvature has only one end if the Sobolev inequality holds on it and if its total curvature is not very big by showing a Liouville theorem for harmonic maps and by using a existence theorem of constant harmonic functions with finite energy. We also generalize a result by Cao–Shen–Zhu saying that a complete orientable stable minimal hypersurface in a Euclidean space has only one end to submanifolds in manifolds of partially non-negative sectional curvature. Some related results about the structure of the same kind of submanifolds are also obtained.  相似文献

In the present paper parallel submanifolds and focal points of a given submanifold with flat normal bundle are discussed provided that the ambient space has constant sectional curvature. We present shape operators of parallel submanifolds with respect to arbitrary normal vectors. Summary Submanifolds of Em with (pointwise) planar normal sections were studied in [3, 4]. In the present paper, we will prove that the first normal spaces of such submanifolds are always parallel in the normal bundle. Moreover, we will prove that a spherical submanifold has parallel second fundamental form if and only if it has pointwise planar normal sections. Some applications of these fundamental results will also be given.  相似文献
