基于偏振门技术,提出了利用漫后向散射光随线偏振光入射方位的变化来测量双层模型表层的粒子尺寸分布及相对折射率。双层物理模型用来模拟上皮组织,上层分别由聚苯乙烯小球或HeLa细胞悬浮液组成,下层由脂肪乳溶液组成,每层的光学特性与上皮组织光学特性匹配。根据米氏(Mie)散射理论,建立了与散射体形态参量相关的偏振后向漫散射强度随入射偏振方位变化的理论模型,并采用浮点遗传算法反演程序获得表层粒子的尺寸分布(PSD)及相对折射率。将理论值和实验测量值进行比较。研究结果表明通过测量随方位变化的后向漫散射光的偏振差分信号,能够获得类上皮组织模型表层的形态结构信息。  相似文献

Multiple light scattering by director fluctuations in nematic liquid crystals is considered. A uniform director orientation is assumed to be specified by an applied magnetic field. The coherent backscattering effect, which consists in the presence of a sharp light backscattering peak, is studied. The Bethe-Salpeter equation is used to calculate the multiple scattering intensity taking into account the contributions of ladder and cyclic diagrams. An analytical expression for the angular and polarization dependences of the coherent backscattering intensity is obtained in terms of the diffusion approximation. The calculation and experimental results are compared. The developed theory is shown to qualitatively describe the elliptical shape of the backscattering cone, to explain the absence of a coherent contribution for crossed polarizations, and to calculate the relative peak height.  相似文献

以标准的组织模型Intralipid脂肪乳溶液为研究对象,采用CCD偏振成像系统,通过测量该混浊介质的后向漫散射光的斯托克斯矢量,深入研究了不同方位的线偏振光及不同旋向的圆偏振光入射时,后向漫散射光的特征.研究结果表明:对不同的入射偏振态,后向漫散射强度、偏振度的空间分布具有方位选择性,强度和偏振度的大小随距离入射点的距离增加而减小;介质浓度增加,后向散射强度增加,偏振度减小,且同一浓度下,圆偏振光的偏振度总是高于线偏振光.  相似文献

It is shown that multiple scattering of polarized light in a turbid medium can be represented as independent propagation of three basic modes: intensity and linearly and circularly polarized modes. Weak interaction between the basic modes can be described by perturbation theory and gives rise to “overtones” (additional polarization modes). Transport equations for the basic and additional modes are derived from a vector radiative transfer equation. Analytical solutions to these equations are found in the practically important cases of diffusive light propagation and small-angle multiple scattering. The results obtained are in good agreement with experimental and numerical results and provide an explanation for the experimentally observed difference in depolarization between linearly and circularly polarized waves.  相似文献

大数值孔径光学系统表面光线的入射角较大, 会导致薄膜的偏振分离, 诱发偏振像差, 影响光学系统的聚焦特性. 本文利用矢量光衍射理论, 建立了光学薄膜各参量与光学系统聚焦光场的模型. 利用该模型分析了线偏振光入射时, 光学薄膜对光学系统聚焦光斑的扰动. 在此基础上, 探讨了应用了不同约束条件下得到的光学薄膜对最终聚焦光场的影响, 确定了减小薄膜扰动光学系统光斑的设计方法, 即额外添加透射率差和位相差的约束条件, 并且适当增加位相差约束的权重. 利用该方法优化设计的薄膜, 相比于普通减反膜而言, 对系统聚焦光场中心强度的提升可达约12.5%.  相似文献

基于Stockes矢量,通过测量以线偏振光和圆偏振光入射时脂肪乳剂后向散射光的偏振度,研究了532nm、650nm和780nm三个波长的光与散射粒子粒径为325nm的脂肪乳剂溶液作用后,其后向散射光的偏振度特性.研究结果表明,对于入射线偏振光,780nm波长后向散射光中的线偏振光成分多于圆偏振光成分,而532nm波长则相反;对于入射圆偏振光,三个波长后向散射光中的圆偏振光成分均多于线偏振光成分;532nm波长的总偏振度高于650nm和780nm两个波长各自的总偏振度;线偏振光的保偏性优于圆偏振光的保偏性,但偏振光在散射介质中的穿透深度较小.因此,后向散射成像技术适用于物体表层成像,而且选择波长略大于粒径的线偏振光可以提高成像质量.  相似文献

Bulk shear and longitudinal waves give rise to important contributions to the scattering of ultrasound by tilted finite plastic and rubber cylinders in water. This occurs in situations where either the shear or longitudinal speed is less than the speed of sound in the surrounding water. At a certain critical tilt angle, large backscattering enhancements are observed for finite cylinders, where the wave vector can reverse direction upon reflection from the cylinder truncation. The scattering process is analogous to the enhancement produced by the merging of rainbow caustics of primary rainbow rays in the scattering of light by long dielectric cylinders, also known as the caustic merging transition [C. M. Mount, D. B. Thiessen, and P. L. Marston, Appl. Opt. 37, 1534-1539 (1998)]. A ray theory was developed to model the backscattering mechanism at the critical tilt angle. It employs the idea of the Bravais effective refractive index, convenient for constructing ray diagrams for the projections of rays in the base plane of the cylinder. There is general agreement between the theory and the experiment down to relatively low ultrasonic frequencies (ka as small as 10). The enhancement is the most significant backscattering contribution for a wide range of tilt angles.  相似文献

Based on the effective medium approximation theory of composites, the whitecap-covered sea surface is treated as a medium layer of dense seawater droplets and air. Two electromagnetic scattering models of randomly rough surface are applied to the investigation of microwave backscattering of breaking waves driven by strong wind. The shapes of seawater droplets are considered by calculating the effective dielectric constant of the whitecap layer. The responses of seawater droplets shapes, such as sphere and ellipsoid, to the backscattering coefficient are discussed. Numerical results of the models are in good agreement with the experimental measurements of horizontally and vertically polarized backscattering at microwave frequency 13.9GHz and different incidence angles.  相似文献

Novel Monte Carlo techniques are described for the computation of reflection coefficient matrices for multiple scattering of light in plane-parallel random media of spherical scatterers. The present multiple scattering theory is composed of coherent backscattering and radiative transfer. In the radiative transfer part, the Stokes parameters of light escaping from the medium are updated at each scattering process in predefined angles of emergence. The scattering directions at each process are randomized using probability densities for the polar and azimuthal scattering angles: the former angle is generated using the single-scattering phase function, whereafter the latter follows from Kepler's equation. For spherical scatterers in the Rayleigh regime, randomization proceeds semi-analytically whereas, beyond that regime, cubic spline presentation of the scattering matrix is used for numerical computations. In the coherent backscattering part, the reciprocity of electromagnetic waves in the backscattering direction allows the renormalization of the reversely propagating waves, whereafter the scattering characteristics are computed in other directions. High orders of scattering (~10 000) can be treated because of the peculiar polarization characteristics of the reverse wave: after a number of scatterings, the polarization state of the reverse wave becomes independent of that of the incident wave, that is, it becomes fully dictated by the scatterings at the end of the reverse path. The coherent backscattering part depends on the single-scattering albedo in a non-monotonous way, the most pronounced signatures showing up for absorbing scatterers. The numerical results compare favourably to the literature results for nonabsorbing spherical scatterers both in and beyond the Rayleigh regime.  相似文献

建立了一套用于测量生物组织模型偏振后向散射差分光谱的实验系统。在系统中,线偏振光入射到样品表面,检偏器和光谱仪配合记录后向散射光中的平行和垂直分量,随后计算出差分光谱。采用了平均直径分别为5.0μm、9.0μm的两种聚乙烯小球悬浮液进行实验,结果与蒙特卡罗模拟进行对照,验证了实验系统的正确性。初步研究了粒子尺寸分布变化对差分光谱的影响,结果表明,偏振散射差分光谱能敏感地反映粒子尺寸分布的变化,在大小粒子的混合液中,大粒子浓度一定程度的增加,光谱仍保留小粒子的振荡趋势,但差分光强减小。该方法对于早期癌症检测具有潜在应用意义。  相似文献

以中纬度卷云中常见的长柱状冰晶为例,利用长柱状粒子光散射理论,探讨了入射光为线偏振时,电矢量平行和垂直于入射面情况下,单个长柱状粒子的散射光强度分布和偏振特性随入射角、尺度参数与偏振态的转化关系:随着入射角的增大,散射强度、偏振总体趋于对称且数值振荡频率降低,散射强度总体减小,偏振的改变程度总体增大;随着尺度参数的增大,散射强度、偏振的数值振荡频率增大,散射强度数值振荡峰的幅度整体减小,电矢量平行于粒子长轴时主偏振的数量、强度和位置皆有变迁,电矢量垂直于粒子长轴时前后主偏振位置相对固定;随着偏振度的减小,散射强度、偏振趋向于一致,两者的数值改变程度减小,当偏振度减小到0时,散射强度、偏振变得完全相同。选取火山尘埃和烟灰与冰晶对比,阐述了粒子散射光的强度分布和偏振特性随折射率的变化规律:折射率虚部不改变散射强度的整体趋势,但使散射强度和偏振的振荡峰幅度增大,当其数值较大时,使得偏振的数值振荡峰覆盖范围拓宽。  相似文献

The scattering of linearly or circularly polarized light from a semibounded randomly inhomogeneous medium is considered. A new technique for simulating the electromagnetic radiation transport using the Monte Carlo method is proposed, which makes it possible to avoid cumbersome calculation of Muller matrices. Expressions are obtained for the co- and cross-polarized components of backscattered light for incident light of arbitrary polarization. The coherent and incoherent backscattering components are calculated for arbitrary combinations of incident and scattered light polarizations. It is shown that the main contribution to coherent backscattering is from the co- and cross-polarized components for linearly and circularly polarized light, respectively. The backscattering from an optically active random medium is calculated.  相似文献

The polarized intensity enhancement of the light backscattered multiply from a fractal aggregate of particles is numerically investigated using Monte Carlo simulations. It is confirmed only for the co-polarized intensity component that an effective mean free pathlength lD defined for a fractal medium has the same physical meaning as a mean free pathlength l for a homogeneously random medium. Furthermore, co- and crosspolarized components of the backscattering intensity enhancement decrease in accordance with θ2.16-1.03D and θ4-1.8D in the far-field plane and with ζ0.93D-3.94 and ζ1.07D-3.98 in the boundary plane between the scattering medium and the air. Therefore, the two-dimensional Fourier transform relation is satisfied only between the co-polarized intensity distributions in the far-field and the boundary planes but not the cross-polarized ones with the accuracy of the numerical simulation. Finally, we notice the applicability of the enhanced backscattering light to estimating the dimension of the absorbent fractal medium on the basis of the result that the slope of the intensity decay of the intensity peak is directly proportional to the dimension of the medium but is independent of the absorption.  相似文献

The objective of this work is to investigate how the anisotropy of the interaction between dipole-active vibrations of a crystal lattice and infrared electromagnetic waves is manifested in the spontaneous parametric light scattering spectra of polaritons (Raman scattering by small angles). The case where scattering occurs by extraordinarily polarized polaritons—quasiparticles formed as a result of the coupling of the wave polarized in the symmetry plane of a biaxial crystal simultaneously with two phonons possessing orthogonal dipolar moments—is studied. A series of spectra of equilibrium fluctuations of the electromagnetic (infrared) field, each of which represents an intensity distribution in frequency-wave number coordinates for a fixed direction of the wave vector, are constructed on the basis of a scattering model that takes account of the tensor character of the permittivity and the quadratic and cubic susceptibilities of the crystal. Analysis of the computed spectra identified the basic laws and dependences which are determined by the anisotropy of the electromagnetic susceptibilities of various orders and made it possible to explain previous experimental results which cannot be interpreted on the basis of the generally accepted model of transversely polarized polaritons. A method is proposed for determining the contributions of the dipole-active vibrations of the crystal lattice to the permittivity and the quadratic and cubic susceptibilities, as well as the absorption of the material from the spectra of the extraordinarily polarized polaritons.  相似文献

For tilt angles smaller than the meridional ray coupling condition previously investigated [S. F. Morse et al., J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 103, 785-794 (1998)], flexural helical waves on cylindrical shells can significantly enhance the backscattering. These contributions are compared and modeled here for an empty cylinder. Experiments using tone bursts were performed on a tilted stainless steel shell to investigate the contributions caused by flexural leaky Lamb waves above the coincidence frequency of the shell. In some of the measurements the tone bursts were of sufficient duration to superpose helical wave contributions of successive circumnavigations, along with the meridional contribution near the critical tilt, to arrive at a quasi-steady-state backscattering amplitude for the cylinder. These measurements are compared with an approximate numerical partial-wave series solution and a ray theory as a function of the tilt angle. The data for ka = 20 follow the basic shape of the ray theory and the relevant features of the partial-wave model. They illustrate the importance of the interference of successive helical wave contributions. Measurements (also as a function of the tilt angle) using tone bursts that were sufficiently short to separate the earliest helical wave contribution from later contributions also support the ray theory.  相似文献

Time-resolved backscattering profiles of circularly and linearly polarized light were measured from a turbid medium composed of small and large polystyrene sphere particles in water. It is shown that, based on the measurements of the time-resolved backscattered copolarized and cross-polarized components of the incident polarized light, either linearly or circularly polarized light can be used to effectively image an object that is deep inside a turbid medium composed of small particles, depending on the depolarization properties of the object itself. For large particles such as in tissue, fog, and clouds, the experimentally observed polarization memory effect on the backscattering temporal profiles suggests that a significant improvement in the image contrast can be achieved by use of circularly polarized light.  相似文献

We present a theoretical basis for calculation of the angular profile of the coherent backscattering intensity under low spatial coherence illumination. We take into account two contributions to the intensity, namely, the diffusion contribution and the contribution from the waves that experience the small-angle multiple scattering before and after single deflection in the backward direction. The latter contribution describes transport of light at subdiffusion length scales and is responsible for the wings of the backscattering angular profile. Our results are in good agreement with data of Monte-Carlo simulations and experiment.  相似文献
