A global potential energy surface (PES) for the electronic ground state of Li2H system is constructed over a large configuration space. About 30 000 ab initio energy points have been calculated by MRCI‐F12 method with aug‐cc‐pVTZ basis set. The neural network method is applied to fit the PES and the root mean square error of the current PES is only 1.296 meV. The reaction dynamics of the title reaction has been carried out by employing time‐dependent wave packet approach with second order split operator on the new PES. The reaction probability, integral cross section and thermal rate constant are obtained from the dynamics calculation. In most of the collision energy regions, the integral cross sections are in well agreement with the results reported by Gao et al. The rate constant calculated from the new PES increases in the temperature range of present investigation.  相似文献

The intermolecular potential energy surface (PES) of argon with ethane has been studied by ab initio calculations at the levels of second‐order Møller–Plesset perturbation (MP2) theory and coupled‐cluster theory with single, double, and noniterative triple configurations (CCSD(T)) using a series of augmented correlation‐consistent basis sets. Two sets of bond functions, bf1 (3s3p2d) and bf2 (6s6p4d2f), have been added to the basis sets to show a dramatic and systematic improvement in the convergence of the entire PES. The PES of Ar–ethane is characterized by a global minimum at a near T‐shaped configuration with a well depth of 0.611 kcal mol?1, a second minimum at a collinear configuration with a well depth of 0.456 kcal mol?1, and a saddle point connecting the two minima. It is shown that an augmented correlation‐consistent basis set with a set of bond functions, either bf1 or bf2, can effectively produce results equivalent to the next larger augmented correlation‐consistent basis set, that is, aug‐cc‐pVDZ‐bf1 ≈ aug‐cc‐pVTZ, aug‐cc‐pVTZ‐bf1 ≈ aug‐cc‐pVQZ. Very importantly, the use of bond functions improves the PES globally, resulting accurate potential anisotropy. Finally, MP2 method is inadequate for accurate calculations, because it gives a potentially overestimated well depth and, more seriously, a poor potential anisotropy. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

Different from the case of the benzene dimer, the differences between the interaction energies are always less than 0.50 kcal/mol for face‐to‐face eclipsed, face‐to‐face staggered, and parallel‐displaced configurations of all investigated complexes C6H6···C6X6 (X = F, Cl, Br, and I). Hence, it is a great challenge for quantum chemists to accurately calculate the interaction energies for the three configurations of the complexes C6H6···C6X6. This work demonstrates that results obtained with the PBE0 density functional combined with the D3 dispersion correction (PBE0‐D3) and the basis set def2‐TZVPP are in excellent agreement with the estimates of the coupled‐cluster singles, doubles, and perturbative triples [CCSD(T)] complete basis set (CBS) limit. The other finding in this study is that, in comparison with the gold‐standard CCSD(T)/CBS benchmark, the spin‐component scaled (SCS) zeroth‐order symmetry‐adapted perturbation theory (SAPT0), when paired with the basis set aug‐cc‐pVDZ, performs also very well, and its performance is even better than that of the PBE0‐D3/def2‐TZVPP method or the conventional SAPT/aug‐cc‐pVQZ method. The findings of this study are very significant because both PBE0‐D3/def2‐TZVPP and SCS‐SAPT0/aug‐cc‐pVDZ can deal with the systems with more than 200 atoms.  相似文献

For the first time the argon‐matrix low‐temperature FTIR spectra of β‐alanine are recorded. They reveal a quite complicated spectral pattern which suggests the presence of several β‐alanine conformers in the matrix. To interpret the spectra, the eighteen β‐alanine conformers, stable in the gas phase, are estimated at the B3LYP and MP2 levels combined with the aug‐cc‐pVDZ. Ten low‐energy structures are reoptimized at the QCISD/aug‐cc‐pVDZ and B3LYP and MP2 levels by using the aug‐cc‐pVTZ basis sets. Assignment of the experimental spectra is undertaken on the basis of the calculated B3LYP/aug‐cc‐pVDZ anharmonic IR frequencies as well as careful estimation of the conformer population. The presence of at least three β‐alanine conformers is demonstrated. The detailed analysis of IR spectra points to the possible presence of five additional β‐alanine conformers.  相似文献

A new four‐dimensional intermolecular potential energy surface for CS2 dimer is obtained by ab initio calculation of the interaction energies for a range of configurations and center‐of‐mass separation distances for the first time. The calculations were performed using the supermolecular approach at the Møller–Plesset second‐order perturbation (MP2) level of theory with the augmented correlation consistent basis sets (aug‐cc‐pVxZ, x = D, T) and corrected for the basis‐set superposition error using the full counterpoise correction method. A two‐point extrapolation method was used to extrapolate the calculated energy points to the complete basis set limit. The effect of using the higher levels of theory, quadratic configuration interaction containing single, double, and perturbative triple excitations QCISD(T) and coupled cluster singles, doubles and perturbative triples excitations CCSD(T), on the shape of potential energy surface was investigated. It is shown that the MP2 level of theory apparently performs extremely poorly for describing the intermolecular potential energy surface, overestimating the total energy by a factor of nearly 1.73 in comparison with the QCISD(T) and CCSD(T) values. The value of isotropic dipole–dipole dispersion coefficient (C6) of CS2 fluid was obtained from the extrapolated MP2 potential energy surface. The MP2 extrapolated energy points were fitted to well‐known analytical potential functions using two different methods to represent the potential energy surface analytically. The most stable configuration of the dimer was determined at R = 6.23 au, α = 90°, β = 90°, and γ = 90°, with a well depth of 3.980 kcal mol?1 at the MP2 level of theory. Finally, the calculated second virial coefficients were compared with experimental values to test the quality of the presented potential energy surface. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Density functional theory and ab initio calculations were performed to elucidate the hydrogen interactions in (H2O4)n (n = 1–4) clusters. The optimized geometries, binding energies, and harmonic vibrational frequencies were predicted at various levels of theory. The trans conformer of the H2O4 monomer was predicted to be the most stable structure at the CCSD(T)/aug‐cc‐pVTZ level of theory. The binding energies per H2O4 monomer increased in absolute value by 9.0, 10.1, and 11.8 kcal/mol from n = 2 to n = 4 at the MP2/cc‐pVTZ level of theory (after the zero‐point vibrational energy and basis set superposition error corrections). This result implies that the intermolecular hydrogen bonds were stronger in the long‐chain clusters, that is, the formation of the longer chain in the (H2O4)n clusters was more energetically favorable.  相似文献

A computational study on the intermolecular potential energy of 44 different orientations of F2 dimers is presented. Basis set superposition error (BSSE) corrected potential energy surface is calculated using the supermolecular approach at CCSD(T) and QCISD(T) levels of theory. The interaction energies obtained using the aug‐cc‐pVDZ and aug‐cc‐pVTZ basis sets are extrapolated to the complete basis set limit using the latest extrapolation scheme. The basis set effect is checked and it is found that the extrapolated intermolecular energies provide the best compromise between the accuracy and computational cost. Among 1320 energy points of F2–F2 system covering more relative orientations, the most stable structure of the dimers was obtained with a well depth of ?146.62 cm?1 that related to cross configuration, and the most unstable structure is related to linear orientation with a well depth of ?52.63 cm?1. The calculated second virial coefficients are in good agreement with experimental data. The latest extrapolation scheme of the complete basis set limit at the CCSD(T) level of theory is used to determine the intermolecular potential energy surface of the F2 dimer. Comparing the results obtained by the latest scheme with those by older schemes show that the new approach provides the best compromise between accuracy and computational cost.  相似文献

This work characterizes eight stationary points of the P2 dimer and six stationary points of the PCCP dimer, including a newly identified minimum on both potential energy surfaces. Full geometry optimizations and corresponding harmonic vibrational frequencies were computed with the second‐order Møller–Plesset (MP2) electronic structure method and six different basis sets: aug‐cc‐pVXZ, aug‐cc‐pV(X+d)Z, and aug‐cc‐pCVXZ where X = T, Q. A new L‐shaped structure with C2 symmetry is the only minimum for the P2 dimer at the MP2 level of theory with these basis sets. The previously reported parallel‐slipped structure with C2h symmetry and a newly identified cross configuration with D2 symmetry are the only minima for the PCCP dimer. Single point energies were also computed using the canonical MP2 and CCSD(T) methods as well as the explicitly correlated MP2‐F12 and CCSD(T)‐F12 methods and the aug‐cc‐pVXZ (X = D, T, Q, 5) basis sets. The energetics obtained with the explicitly correlated methods were very similar to the canonical results for the larger basis sets. Extrapolations were performed to estimate the complete basis set (CBS) limit MP2 and CCSD(T) binding energies. MP2 and MP2‐F12 significantly overbind the P2 and PCCP dimers relative to the CCSD(T) and CCSD(T)‐F12 binding energies by as much as 1.5 kcal mol?1 for the former and 5.0 kcal mol?1 for the latter at the CBS limit. The dominant attractive component of the interaction energy for each dimer configuration was dispersion according to several symmetry‐adapted perturbation theory analyses. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

Geometry optimizations were carried out for the (HF)2, (H2O)2, and HF–H2O intermolecular complexes using the MP2/aug‐cc‐pVXZ {X=2, 3, 4, and 5} theoretical models on both the uncorrected and counterpoise (CP) corrected potential energy hypersurfaces (PES). Our results and the available literature data clearly show that extrapolation of intermolecular distances to the complete basis set (CBS) limit is satisfactory on PESs corrected for BSSE. On the other hand, one should avoid such extrapolations using data obtained from uncorrected PESs. Also, fixing intramolecular parameters at their experimental values could cause difficulties during the extrapolation. As the available literature data and our results clearly show, the MP2/aug‐cc‐pVXZ {X=2, 3, 4} data series of intermolecular distances obtained from the CP‐corrected surfaces can be safely used for the purpose of CBS extrapolations. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The kinetic model of the co‐polycondensation with A2 and AB2 type monomers is developed and the analytical expressions of the various molecular parameters of the products are derived rigorously. The monomer feed ratio (α) of A2 to AB2 significantly affects the molecular parameters and the critical condition of gelation. Gelation can be avoided if α is > . At the critical state, the degree of branching decreases firstly and reaches its minimum value at about α≈0.22. Then, it increases with increasing α‐value. In comparison with experimental results, non‐equal reactivity of the active groups should be considered.

A global potential energy surface (PES) corresponding to the ground state of AuH2 system has been constructed based on 22 853 ab initio energies calculated by the multireference configuration interaction method with a Davidson correction. The neural network method is used to fit the PES, and the root mean square error is only 1.87 meV. The topographical features of the novel global PES are compared with previous PES which is constructed by Zanchet et al. (Zanchet PES). The global minimum energy reaction paths on the two PESs both have a well and a barrier. Relative to the Au + H2 reactants, the energy of well is 0.316 eV on the new PES, which is 0.421 eV deeper than Zanchet PES. The calculation of Au(2S) + H2(X1Σg+) → AuH(X1Σ+) + H(2S) dynamical reaction is carried out on new PES, by the time‐dependent quantum wave packet method (TDWP) with second order split operator. The reaction probabilities, integral cross‐sections (ICSs) and differential cross‐sections are obtained from the dynamics calculation. The threshold in the reaction is about 1.46 eV, which is 0.07 eV smaller than Zanchet PES due to the different endothermic energies on the two PESs. At low collision energy (<2.3 eV), the total ICS is larger than the result obtained on Zanchet PES, which can be attributed to the difference of the wells and endothermic energies.  相似文献

The time‐dependent wavepacket method is used to study the reaction dynamics of S(3P) + HD (v = 0, 1, 2) on the adiabatic 13A″ potential energy surface constructed by Han and coworkers [J. Chem. Phys. 2012, 136, 094308]. The reaction probabilities and integral cross sections as a function of collision energy are obtained and discussed. The results calculated by using the CC and the CS approximation have been compared, which suggests that for this direct abstraction reaction, the cheaper CS approximation calculation is valid enough in the quantum calculation. The investigation also shows that the reaction probabilities and integral cross sections tend to increase with collision energy. By analyzing the v‐dependent behavior of the integral cross sections, the significant effect of the vibrational excitation of HD is found. Also found in the calculation is a significant resonance feature in the reaction probabilities versus collision energy. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

In the present paper, kinetic isotope effects of the title reaction are studied with canonical variational transition state theory on the modified Wang Bowman (MWB) potential energy surface (PES) (Chem Phys Lett 2005, 409, 249) and the ab initio calculations at the quadratic configuration interaction (QCISD (T, full))/aug‐cc‐pVTZ//QCISD (full)/cc‐pVTZ level. The calculated rate constants for the isotopic variants of this title reaction on the MWB PES have good agreement with those of the present ab initio calculations over the temperature range of 20–5000 K for the forward reactions and 800–5000 K for the reverse reactions, respectively. In particular, the forward rate constants for the title reaction and its isotopically substituted reactions have negative temperature dependences at about 40 K. Rate expressions are presented for all the studied reactions. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 42: 289–298, 2010  相似文献

Global exploration of equilibrium structures and interconversion pathways on the quantum chemical potential energy surface (PES) is performed for (H2CO)n (n = 2–4) by using the Scaled Hypersphere Search‐Anharmonic Downward Distortion Following (SHS‐ADDF) method. Density functional theoretical (DFT) calculations with empirical dispersion corrections (D3) yielded comparable results for formaldehyde dimer in comparison with recent detailed studies at CCSD(T) levels. Based on DFT‐D3 calculations, trimer and tetramer structures and their stabilities were studied. For tetramer, a highly symmetrical S4 structure was found as the most stable form in good accordance with experimentally determined tetramer unit in the formaldehyde crystal. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

The reaction of N (2D) radical with NO2 molecule has been studied theoretically using density functional theory and ab initio quantum chemistry method. Singlet electronic state [N2O2] potential energy surfaces (PES) are calculated at the CCSD(T)/aug‐cc‐pVDZ//B3LYP/6‐311+G(d) + ZPE and G3B3 levels of theory. All the involved transition states for generation of (2NO) and (O2 + N2) lie much lower than the reactants. Thus, the novel reaction N + NO2 can proceed effectively even at low temperatures and it is expected to play a role in both combustion and interstellar processes. On the basis of the analysis of the kinetics of all pathways through which the reactions proceed, we expect that the competitive power of reaction pathways may vary with experimental conditions for the title reaction. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A DFT study was carried out on the ground state structures of ternary CulAgmAun (l + m + n = 6) clusters, with the aim of investigating changes of thermal and kinetic stabilities as an effect of composition, as well as the composition dependence of the electrostatic potential, of stable planar structures. DFT optimizations were performed using the PBE functional and the SDD basis set. All the optimized structures adopt planar geometries with bent triangular structures. Calculated binding energy values are in the range 1.5–1.9 eV/atom, which shows their thermal stability. The predicted HOMO‐LUMO energy gap values are in the semiconductor region, providing a qualitative indication of a moderate kinetic stability. NBO analyses indicate the existence of two mechanisms promoting planar structural stability, one due to bonding‐antibonding orbital interaction, and the other one due to the well‐known spd hybridization. Wiberg indices were obtained showing interatomic bonding. Electrostatic potential calculations show the existence of nucleophilic attack regions preferentially around silver and copper atoms located at the vertices while electrophilic attack regions are found in the vicinity of gold atoms over the cluster plane. Apparently, charge transfer occurs toward gold from silver and copper atoms when the concentration is favorable in the proximity of gold atoms. In particular, if the small ternary clusters discussed here contain only one gold atom, then a high electron density is observed at the site of this gold atom. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

The rate constants of the H‐abstraction reactions from cyclopropane by H, O (3P), Cl (2P3/2), and OH radicals have been calculated over the temperature range of 250?2500 K using two different levels of theory. Calculations of optimized geometrical parameters and vibrational frequencies are performed using the MP2 method combined with the cc‐pVTZ basis set and the 6–311++G(d,p) basis set. Single‐point energy calculations have been carried out with the highly correlated ab initio coupled cluster method in the space of single, double, and triple (perturbatively) electron excitations CCSD(T) using either the cc‐pVTZ, aug‐cc‐pVTZ, and aug‐cc‐pVQZ basis sets or the 6–311++G(3df,3pd) basis set. The CCSD(T) calculated potential energies have been extrapolated to the complete basis limit (CBS) limit. The Full Configuration Interaction (FCI) energies have been also estimated using the continued‐fraction approximation as proposed by Goodson (J. Chem. Phys., 2002, 116, 6948–6956). Canonical transition‐state theory combined with an Eckart tunneling correction has been used to predict the rate constants as a function of temperature using two kinetic models (direct abstraction or complex mechanism) at two levels of theory (CCSD(T)‐cf/CBS//MP2/cc‐pVTZ and CCSD(T)‐cf/6–311++G(3df,3pd)//MP2/6–311++G(d,p)). The calculated kinetic parameters are in reasonable agreement with their literature counterparts for all reactions. In the light of these trends, the use of the Pople‐style basis sets for studying the reactivity of other systems such as larger cycloalkanes or halogenated cycloalkanes is recommended because the 6–311++G(3df,3pd) basis set is less time consuming than the aug‐cc‐pVQZ basis set. Based on our calculations performed at the CCSD(T)‐cf/CBS//MP2/cc‐pVTZ level of theory, the standard enthalpy of formation at 298 K for the cyclopropyl radical has been reassessed and its value is (290.5 ± 1.6) kJ mol?1.  相似文献

Six stationary points of alaninamide have been located on the potential surface energy (PES) at the B3LYP/6‐311++G(2d,2p) level of theory both in the gas phase and in aqueous solution. In the aqueous solution, to take the water solvent effect into account, the polarizable continuum model (PCM) method has been used. Accurate geometric structures and their relative stabilities have been investigated. The results show that the intramolecular hydrogen bond plays a very important role in stabilizing the global minimum of the alaninamide. Moreover, the consistent result in relative energy using high‐level computations, including the MP2 and MP3 methods with the same basis set [6‐311++G(2d,2p)], indicates that the B3LYP/6‐311++G(d,p) level may be applied to the analogue system. More importantly, the optical rotation of the optimized conformers (both in the gas phase and in aqueous solution) of alaninamide have been calculated using the density functional theory (DFT) and Hartree–Fock (HF) method at various basis sets (6‐31+G*, 6‐311++G(d,p), 6‐311++G(2d,2p) and aug‐cc‐pvdz). The results show that the selection of the computation method and the basis set in calculation has great influence on the results of the optical rotations. The reliability of the HF method is less than that of DFT, and selecting the basis set of 6‐311++G(2d,2p) and aug‐cc‐pvDZ produces relative reliable results. Analysis of the computational results of the structure parameters and the optical rotations yields the conclusion that just the helixes in molecules caused the chiral molecules to be optical active. The Boltzmann equilibrium distributions for the six conformers (both in the gas phase and in the aqueous solution) are also carried out. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We have carried out extensive studies on the basis set dependence of the calculated specific optical rotation (OR) in molecules at the level of the time–dependent Hartree–Fock and density functional approximations. To reach the limits of the basis set saturation, we have devised an artificial model, the asymmetrically deformed (chiral) methane (CM) molecule. This small system permits to use basis sets which are prohibitively large for real chiral molecules and yet shows all the important features of the basis set dependence of the OR values. The convergence of the OR has been studied with n‐aug‐cc‐pVXZ basis sets of Dunning up to the 6–ζ. In a parallel series of calculations, we have used the recently developed large polarized (LPolX) basis sets. The relatively small LPolX sets have been shown to be competitive to very large n‐aug‐cc‐pVXZ basis sets. The conclusions reached in calculations of OR in CM concerning the usefulness of LPolX basis sets have been further tested on (S)‐methyloxirane and (S)‐fluoro‐oxirane. The smallest set of the LPolX family (LPol–ds) has been found to yield OR values of similar quality as those obtained with much larger Dunning's aug‐cc‐pVQZ basis set. These results have encouraged us to carry out the OR calculations with LPol–ds basis sets for systems as large as β‐pinene and trans‐pinane. In both cases, our calculations have lead to the correct sign of the OR value in these molecules. This makes the relatively small LPol–ds basis sets likely to be useful in OR calculations for large molecules. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Comput Chem, 2010  相似文献

The electronic structure of the 11B1u and 12B3u excited electronic states of the tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) neutral and its charged derivative are studied within the framework of complete active space self‐consistent field (CASSCF) and Becke's three‐parameter hybrid method with Lee–Yang–Parr correlation functional (B3LYP) methods applied to the level aug‐cc‐p‐VDZ basis set. Both CASSCF/aug‐cc‐p‐VDZ and B3LYP/aug‐cc‐p‐VDZ treatments provide the ground‐state and the excited state geometries; these are then used to assess the Franck–Condon (FC) parameters in the 11B1u state of the neutral TCNQ and in the 12B3u state of the TCNQ monoanion. The quality of numerical results is then tested on the base of available experimental near‐resonance and resonance Raman data. The studies are performed in terms of the vibronic model, which takes both FC and mode‐mixing (Dushinsky) effects into account. This somewhat simplified vibronic model leads to very good agreement between the theory and the Raman experiments concerning both neutral TCNQ and its monoanion. In particular, the calculated excitation profiles of the ν2 = 2215 cm?1, ν4 = 1389 cm?1, ν5 = 1195 cm?1, and ν9 = 336 cm?1 fundamentals are shown to be in excellent agreement with those for the TCNQ monoanion. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
