Blue light‐emitting materials are receiving considerable academic and industrial interest due to their potential applications in optoelectronic devices. In this study, blue light‐emitting copolymers based on 9,9′ ‐ dioctylfluorene and 2,2′‐(1,4‐phenylene)‐bis(benzimidazole) moieties were synthesized through palladium‐catalyzed Suzuki coupling reaction. While the copolymer consisting of unsubstituted benzimidazoles (PFBI0) is insoluble in common organic solvents, its counterpart with N‐octyl substituted benzimidazoles (PFBI8) enjoys good solubility in toluene, tetrahydrofuran, dichloromethane (DCM), and chloroform. The PFBI8 copolymer shows good thermal stability, whose glass transition temperature and onset decomposition temperature are 103 and 428 °C, respectively. Its solutions emit blue light efficiently, with the quantum yield up to 99% in chloroform. The electroluminescence (EL) device of PFBI8 with the configuration of indium‐tin oxide/poly(ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonic acid)/PFBI8/1,3,5‐tris(1‐phenyl‐1H‐benzimidazole‐2‐yl)benzene/LiF/Al emits blue light with the maximum at 448 nm. Such unoptimized polymer light‐emitting diode (PLED) exhibits a maximum luminance of 1534 cd/m2 with the current efficiency and power efficiency of 0.67 cd/A and 0.20 lm/W, respectively. The efficient blue emission and good EL performance make PFBI8 promising for optoelectronic applications. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem, 2012  相似文献

We report a new route for the design of soluble phenylene vinylene (PV) based electroluminescent polymers bearing electron‐deficient oxadizole (OXD) and triazole (TZ) moieties in the main chains with the aryloxy linkage. Both series of the PV‐based polymers were prepared by Wittig reaction. By properly adjusting the OXD and/or TZ content through copolymerization, we can achieve an enhanced balance of hole‐ and electron injections, such that the device efficiency is significantly improved. Light‐emitting diodes fabricated from P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, and P7 with the configuration of Indium–Tin Oxide (ITO)/Poly (styrene sulfonic acid) doped poly (ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT)/polymer/Ca/Al, emit bright green light with the maximum peak around 500 nm. For the device using the optimal polymer (P4) as emitting layer, a maximum brightness of 1300 cd/m2 at 20 V and a maximum luminance efficiency of 0.325 cd/A can be obtained. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The solution processable alternating benzofuran/terfluorene copolymer bearing side oxadiazole groups ( PBF‐OXD ) was synthesized and its optoelectronic properties and color stability were investigated. Electron‐deficient and stereohindered oxadiazole units were used as pendent groups to compensate for the poor electron‐transporting ability of a p‐type polymer backbone, to depress the intermolecular π‐stacking, and to improve solubility while retaining polymer blue emission. PBF‐OXD showed a glass transition at 135 °C and an onset decomposition temperature of ~345 °C. A simple EL device, with the configuration of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/ PBF‐OXD /Ba/Al, displayed a stable blue emission (λmax = 434 nm), good color purity (full width half‐maximum = 59 nm), maximum brightness of 1400 cd/m2, and a maximum luminance efficiency of 0.95 cd/A. The PL and EL spectra changed slightly on annealing and on increasing the applied voltage. These results show that the as‐synthesized copolymer PBF‐OXD had integrated respective functions of its different building blocks and exhibited good thermal and color stability with improved EL performance. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. To study influence of the donor(D)‐acceptor(A) units and pendent mode of phosphorescent moiety on the opto‐electronic properties for its resulting copolymers, two D‐A‐based polyfluorene derivatives ( P 1 and P 2) pending the red‐emitting iridium bi(phenylisoquilonato) (picolinato) [Ir(Piq)2(pic)] unit and a polyfluorene derivative ( P 3) only pending Ir(Piq)2(pic) unit were synthesized and characterized, in which the donor of carbazole, the acceptor of oxadiazole are grafted into the C‐9 position of fluorene, the Ir(Piq)2(pic) unit is pended into either the C‐9 position for P 1 and P 3 or the end for P 2 of fluorene by unconjugated linkage, respectively. Their opto‐electronic properties were significantly influenced by the D‐A units and pendent mode of the Ir(Piq)2(pic) unit. In the polymer light‐emitting devices with a configuration of ITO/PEDOT/polymers/LiF/Al, the P 1 showed best electroluminescent properties than the P 2 and P 3. The maximum current efficiency of 0.72 cd/A and the highest luminance of 1398 cd/m 2 were obtained in the P 1‐based device, which are 1.3 and 1.5 times higher than those in the P 2‐based device, respectively. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of copolymers PCt‐co‐Poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) were synthesized through common radical polymerization, in which P‐Ct as a kind of mesogen‐jacketed liquid crystalline polymer was introduced, and the effects of copolymers composing variation on the optical properties of the polymers were studied. The structures and properties of the copolymers were characterized and evaluated by thermogravimetric (TGA), UV, photoluminescence (PL), cyclic voltammetry (CV), and electroluminescence (EL) analyses. All the polymers enjoy high thermal stability. PL peaks in the film show blue‐shift compared with in solutions and fluorescent quantum efficiency decreased with the N‐vinylcarbazole (nvk) content increasing, which supported the efficient energy transfer from nvk units to the oxadiazole units. CV revealed that, with the incorporation of nvk to the copolymer, these copolymers had high‐lying HOMO energy levels ranging from ?5.94 to ?6.09 eV. Single‐layer light‐emitting diodes (LEDs) with the configuration of ITO/PEDOT/PCt‐nvk/Mg:Ag/Ag were fabricated, which emit a blue light around 450 and 490 nm with a maximum luminance of 703 cd/m2. The device performance varies with the content of nvk and device configuration, with device configuration ( b ) and PCt‐nvk8 giving the best value of external quantum efficiency of 0.27%. We show here that by proper design copolymer structure and modification of device configuration can exhibit strong blue EL in higher external quantum efficiency. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Three polyfluorene derivatives which have oxetane‐containing phenyl group at C‐9 position were synthesized via the palladium‐catalyzed Suzuki‐coupling reaction. The synthesized polymers PFB, PFG, and PFR emit blue, green, and red light, respectively. A double‐layer device with the configuration of ITO/PEDOT/polymer/Ca/Al using PFB as the active layer showed a threshold voltage of 5 V, a maximum brightness of 2030 cd/m2, and a maximum current efficiency of 0.35 cd/A. Using PFG as the active layer, the device exhibited a threshold voltage of 6 V, a maximum brightness of 6447 cd/m2, and a maximum current efficiency of 1.27 cd/A. Using PFR as the active layer, the device showed a threshold voltage of 4 V, a maximum brightness of 2135 cd/m2, and a maximum current efficiency of 0.16 cd/A. Better electroluminescent performance was also found based on different design of device structures. Due to photo‐crosslinking property of oxetane groups, the UV‐exposed thin films are insoluble in common organic solvents. A device comprised of blue, green, and red‐emissive pixels was successfully fabricated by spin‐coating and photo‐lithographic processes. In addition, a white light‐emitting device with CIE coordinate of (0.34, 0.33) was achieved by blending PFR into a host material PFB as the active layer. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We have synthesized, using the Gilch method, a novel poly(p‐phenylenevinylene) derivative (PPV‐PP) containing two pendent pentaphenylene dendritic wedges, and have characterized its structure and properties. The incorporated side chain pentaphenylene dendrons serve as solubilizing groups, prevent π‐stacking interactions from occurring between the polymer main chains, and suppress the formation of excimers in the solid state. Photoluminescence studies indicate that efficient intramolecular energy transfer occurred from the photoexcited pentaphenylene groups to the poly(p‐phenylenevinylene) backbone. The polymer film exhibits a maximum emission at 510 nm and had a photoluminescence efficiency of 46%, which is similar to that measured in dilute solution. The photoluminescence spectra remained almost unchanged after thermal annealing at 150 °C for 20 h, and displayed inhibited excimer formation. Polymer light‐emitting diodes that we fabricated in the configuration ITO/PEDOT/PPV‐PP/Mg:Ag/Ag exhibited a maximum emission peak at 513 nm, corresponding to the green region [x = 0.30 and y = 0.62 in the Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage (CIE) chromaticity coordinates]. The maximum brightness and maximum luminance efficiency were 1562 cd/m2 and 1.93 cd/A, respectively. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 43: 5147–5155, 2005  相似文献

For the purpose of making hyperbranched polymer (Hb‐Ps)‐based red, green, blue, and white polymer light‐emitting diodes (PLEDs), three Hb‐Ps Hb‐ terfluorene ( Hb‐TF ), Hb ‐4,7‐bis(9,9′‐dioctylfluoren‐2‐yl)‐2,1,3‐benzothiodiazole ( Hb‐BFBT ), and Hb‐ 4,7‐bis[(9,9′‐dioctylfluoren‐2‐yl)‐thien‐2‐yl]‐2,1,3‐benzothiodiazole ( Hb‐BFTBT ) were synthesized via [2+2+2] polycyclotrimerization of the corresponding diacetylene‐functionalized monomers. All the synthesized polymers showed excellent thermal stability with degradation temperature higher than 355 °C and glass transition temperatures higher than 50 °C. Photoluminance (PL) and electroluminance (EL) spectra of the polymers indicate that Hb‐TF , Hb‐BFBT , and Hb‐BFTBT are blue‐green, green, and red emitting materials. Maximum brightness of the double‐layer devices of Hb‐TF , Hb‐BFBT , and Hb‐BFTBT with the device configuration of indium tin oxide/poly(3,4‐ethylene dioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate)/light‐emitting polymer/CsF/Al are 48, 42, and 29 cd/m2; the maximum luminance efficiency of the devices are 0.01, 0.02, and 0.01 cd/A. By using host–guest doped system, saturated red electrophosphorescent devices with a maximum luminance efficiency of 1.61 cd/A were obtained when Hb‐TF was used as a host material doped with Os(fptz)2(PPh2Me2)2 as a guest material. A maximum luminance efficiency of 3.39 cd/A of a red polymer light‐emitting device was also reached when Hb‐BFTBT was used as the guest in the PFO (Poly(9,9‐dioctylfluorene)) host layer. In addition, a series of efficient white devices were, which show low turn‐on voltage (3.5 V) with highest luminance efficiency of 4.98 cd/A, maximum brightness of 1185 cd/m2, and the Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates close to ideal white emission (0.33, 0.33), were prepared by using BFBT as auxiliary dopant. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We have synthesized a blue-light-emitting polyfluorene derivative (PF-TPAOXD) that presents sterically hindered, dipolar pendent groups functionalized at the C-9 positions of alternating fluorene units. The incorporation of the dipolar side chains, each comprising an electron-rich triphenylamine group and an electron-deficient oxadiazole group connected through a π-conjugated bridge, endows the resultant polymer with higher highest occupied molecular orbital and lower lowest unoccupied molecular orbital energy levels, which, consequently, lead to an increase in both hole and electron affinities. An electroluminescent device incorporating this polymer as the emitting layer exhibited a stable blue emission with a maximum brightness of 2080 cd/m2 at 12 V and a maximum external quantum efficiency of 1.4% at a brightness of 137 cd/m2. Furthermore, atomic force microscopy measurements indicated that the dipolar nature of PF-TPAOXD, in contrast to the general nonpolarity of polydialkylfluorenes, provided a stabilizing environment allowing the polar organometallic triplet dopant to be dispersed homogeneously. We also fabricated an electrophosphorescent device incorporating PF-TPAOXD as the host material doped with a red-emitting osmium complex to realize red electroluminescence with Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage color coordinates of (0.66, 0.34). The resulting device exhibited a maximum external quantum efficiency of 7.3% at a brightness of 1747 cd/m2 and a maximum brightness of 7244 cd/m2. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Two new stepladder conjugated polymers, that is, poly(7,7,15,15‐tetraoctyldinaphtho[1,2‐a:1′,2′‐g]‐s‐indacene) (PONSI) and poly(7,7,15,15‐tetra(4‐octylphenyl)dinaphtho[1,2‐a:1′,2′‐g]‐s‐indacene) (PANSI) with alkyl and aryl substituents, respectively, have been synthesized and characterized. In comparison with poly(indenofluorene)s, both polymers have extended conjugation at the direction perpendicular to the polymer backbone because of the introduction of naphthalene moieties. The emission color of the polymers in film state is strongly dependent on the substituents. While PONSI emits at a maximum of 463 nm, PANSI with the same backbone but aryl substituents displays dramatically redshifted emission with a maximum at 494 nm. Both polymers show stable photoluminescence spectra while annealing at 200 °C in inert atmosphere. The PONSI‐based devices with the configuration of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/polymer/Ca/Al turn on at 3.7 V, and emit at a maximum of 461 nm with the CIE coordinates of (0.19, 0.26), a maximum luminance efficiency of 1.40 cd/A, and a maximum brightness of 2036 cd/m2 at 13 V. Meanwhile, the emission color of the devices is independent of driving voltage and keeps unchanged during the continuous operation. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Linear polyfluorenes with low generation of side benzylether dendrons ( PLG0 , PLG1 ) and hyperbranched polyfluorenes with 1,3,5‐benzene branch unit ( PHG0 and PHG1 ) were prepared by the Suzuki coupling reaction to investigate the structural effect on optoelectronic properties. Their optical properties, both in solution and film state, were investigated using absorption and photoluminescence (PL) spectra. The excimer emission of polyfluorene at about 530 nm, induced by thermal annealing, was completely suppressed by the hyperbranched structure, but the suppression was not obvious by the side benzylether dendrons. The optoelectronic performance of the EL devices (ITO/PEDOT:PSS/polymer/Ca/Al) was strongly dependent upon chemical structures of the emitting polyfluorenes. The hyperbranched PHG0 with zero generation of benzylether side groups revealed the best device performance, with maximal luminance and maximal luminance efficiency of 2350 cd/m2 and 0.33 cd/A, respectively. The results suggest that incorporation of branch units with low generation of benzylether dendrons is an effective way to improve annealing stability and EL performance of the polyfluorenes. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of conjugated hyperbranched polymers, hyperbranched copolymers, and linear polymers containing 2‐pyran‐4‐ylidenemalononitrile (acceptor) and triphenylamine/fluorene (donor) units were synthesized and characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR, thermogravimetric analyses, differential scanning calorimetry, gel permeation chromatography, UV–visible, photoluminescence, and cyclic voltammetry measurements. All the polymers show red‐light emission in the range of 566–656 nm both in solution and in solid state. The quantum efficiency of the polymers was in the range of 56–82%. Among the six polymers synthesized, only polymers containing fluorene units show Tg and polymers based on triphenylamine not exhibit Tg. The band gap of these polymers were found to be reasonably low; hyperbranched copolymer containing fluorene unit shows lowest band gap of 2.18 eV due to the stabilization of LUMO energy level by the electron withdrawing ? CN groups. The thermal and solubility behavior of the polymers were found to be good. All the EL spectra of the devices (indium‐tin oxide/poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate)/polymer/2,9‐dimethyl‐4,7‐diphenyl‐1,10‐phenanthroline/tris(8‐hydroxyquinoline)aluminum)/LiF/Al) show red‐light emission, and the device fabricated with P3 and P4 shows maximum luminance and luminous efficiency of 4104 cd m?2 and 0.55 cd Å?1 and 3696 cd m?2 and 0.47 cd Å?1, respectively, indicates that they had the best carrier balance. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel copoly(aryl ether) ( P1 ) consisting of alternate emitting segments (distyrylbenzene) and a bipolar moiety composed of directly linked electron‐transporting aromatic 1,2,4‐triazole and hole‐transporting triphenylamine was synthesized. The copoly(aryl ether) is readily soluble in common organic solvents and exhibit good thermal stability with thermal decomposition temperature above 450 °C. The emission and the photoluminescence quantum yield of the copolymer are dominated by the emitting segments (distyrylbenzene) with longer emissive wavelength. Electron affinity of P1 is evidently enhanced after introducing the isolated bipolar unit, as confirmed by the lowered lowest unoccupied molecular orbital level (–2.77 eV) relative to P0 without bipolar unit (–2.34 eV). This results in improved emission efficiency of its polymer light‐emitting diode (indium tin oxide/poly(3,4‐ethylene dioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate)/ P1 /LiF/Ca/Al) due to more balanced charges injection and transport. Blending P1 with poly(9,9‐dihexylfluorene) ( PF ) further improves the efficiency of the device; the best performance was obtained for PF / P1 = 20/0.8 (w/w) with maximum luminance and maximum luminance efficiency being significantly enhanced to 3260 cd/m2 and 1.08 cd/A, respectively, from 380 cd/m2 and 0.009 cd/A of P1 ‐based device. These results demonstrate that the bipolar moiety can be used to enhance charges injection and transport of electroluminescent polymers. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Two novel copoly(p‐phenylene)s ( P1 – P2 ) containing bipolar groups (12.8 and 6.8 mol %, respectively), directly linked hole transporting triphenylamine and electron transporting aromatic 1,2,4‐triazole, were synthesized to enhance electroluminescence (EL) of poly(p‐phenylene vinylene) (PPV) derivatives. The bipolar groups not only enhance thermal stability but also promote electron affinity and hole affinity of the resulting copoly(p‐phenylene)s. Blending the bipolar copoly‐(p‐phenylene)s ( P1 – P2 ) with PPV derivatives ( d6‐PPV ) as an emitting layer effectively improve the emission efficiency of its electroluminescent devices [indium tin oxide (ITO)/poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PSS)/polymer blend/Ca (50 nm)/Al (100 nm)]. The maximum luminance and maximum luminance efficiency were significantly enhanced from 310 cd m?2 and 0.03 cd A?1 ( d6‐PPV ‐based device) to 1450 cd m?2 and 0.20 cd A?1 (blend device with d6‐PPV / P1 = 96/4 containing ~0.5 wt % of bipolar groups), respectively. Our results demonstrate the efficacy of the copoly(p‐phenylene)s with bipolar groups in enhancing EL of PPV derivatives. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem, 2010  相似文献

Nonconjugated bipolar transport polymers have been developed as host materials for electroluminescent devices by incorporating both electron‐transporting and hole‐transporting functionalities into copolymers. The random copolymer PCt‐nvk3‐7 containing mesogen‐jacketed segment of P‐Ct have been synthesized and characterized. The effect of mesogen‐jacketed segment content of these bipolar copolymers on device performance has been investigated. The results of polymer light‐emitting diodes (PLEDs) show that the jacketed content of copolymers has a significant effect on device performance: lowering charge transport and facilitating the hole‐electron recombination leads to much higher current efficiency. Applying these high triplet random copolymers as host, the maximum current efficiency of 0.70 cd/A and the maximum brightness of 1872.8 cd/m2 was achieved for PCt‐nvk3‐7 with an orange‐emitting complex dopant. The results suggest that the bipolar copolymers PCt‐nvks can be good host polymers for electrophosphorescent devices. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. An N‐phenylcarbazole‐containing poly(p‐phenylenevinylene) (PPV), poly[(2‐(4′‐carbazol‐9‐yl‐phenyl)‐5‐octyloxy‐1,4‐phenylenevinylene)‐alt‐(2‐(2′‐ethylhexyloxy)‐5‐methoxy‐1,4‐phenylenevinylene)] (Cz‐PPV), was synthesized, and its optical, electrochemical, and electroluminescent properties were studied. The molecular structures of the key intermediates, the carbazole‐containing boronic ester and the dialdehyde monomer, were crystallographically characterized. The polymer was soluble in common organic solvents and exhibited good thermal stability with a 5% weight loss at temperatures above 420 °C in nitrogen. A cyclic voltammogram showed the oxidation peak potentials of both the pendant carbazole group and the PPV main chain, indicating that the hole‐injection ability of the polymer would be improved by the introduction of the carbazole‐functional group. A single‐layer light‐emitting diode (LED) with a simple configuration of indium tin oxide (ITO)/Cz‐PPV (80 nm)/Ca/Al exhibited a bright yellow emission with a brightness of 1560 cd/m2 at a bias of 11 V and a current density of 565 mA/cm2. A double‐layer LED device with the configuration of ITO/poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxy‐2,5‐thiophene):poly (styrenesulfonic acid) (60 nm)/Cz‐PPV (80 nm)/Ca/Al gave a low turn‐on voltage at 3 V and a maximum brightness of 6600 cd/m2 at a bias of 8 V. The maximum electroluminescent efficiency corresponding to the double‐layer device was 1.15 cd/A, 0.42 lm/W, and 0.5%. The desired electroluminescence results demonstrated that the incorporation of hole‐transporting functional groups into the PPVs was effective for enhancing the electroluminescent performance. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Donor–π–acceptor type fluorene‐based copolymers with a sulfone unit were designed and synthesized for application in efficient pure‐blue light emitting. The electroluminescence behaviors of these copolymers were investigated by fabricating light‐emitting diodes and electrochemical cell devices. The former device little functioned but the latter worked well. The electrochemical cell devices having a configuration of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/copolymer:ionic liquid/Al exhibited purplish blue electroluminescence with an emission maximum at 434 nm (CIE coordinates (x, y) = (0.17, 0.10)) measured at 7 V. The initial positive scan of the D–π–A polysulfone based light emitting electrochemical cell with a sweep rate of 0.1 V s?1 afforded a maximum luminance of 1080 cd m?2 with a current efficiency of 1.96 cd A?1 at an operating voltage of 12.5 V. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. An indenofluorene‐based copolymer containing blue‐, green‐, and red light‐emitting moieties was synthesized by Suzuki polymerization and examined for application in white organic light‐emitting diodes (WOLEDs). Tetraoctylindenofluorene (IF), 2,1,3‐benzothiadiazole (BT), and 4,7‐bis(2‐thienyl)‐2,1,3‐benzothiadiazole (DBT) derivatives were used as the blue‐, green‐, and red‐light emitting structures, respectively. The number‐average molecular weight of the polymer was determined to be 25,900 g/mol with a polydispersity index of 2.02. The polymer was thermally stable (Td = ~398 °C) and quite soluble in common organic solvents, forming an optical‐quality film by spin casting. The EL characteristics were fine‐tuned from the single copolymer through incomplete fluorescence energy transfer by adjusting the composition of the red/green/blue units in the copolymer. The EL device using the indenofluorene‐based copolymer containing 0.01 mol % BT and 0.02 mol % DBT units ( PIF‐BT01‐DBT02 ) showed a maximum brightness of 4088 cd/m2 at 8 V and a maximum current efficiency of 0.36 cd/A with Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of (0.34, 0.32). The EL emission of PIF‐BT01‐DBT02 was stable with respect to changes in voltage. The color emitted was dependent on the thickness of the active polymer layer; layer (~60 nm) too thin was unsuitable for realizing WOLED via energy transfer. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A convenient approach to novel charged Ir polymers for optoelectronic devices to achieve red emission was developed. 2-(Pyridin-2-yl)benzimidazole units grafted into the side chains of macroligands (PFCz and PFP) served as ligands for the formation of charged Ir complex pendants with 1-phenylisoquinoline (1-piq). The charged Ir polymers (PFPIrPiq and PFCzIrPiq) showed exclusive Ir(1-piq)(2){N-[2-(pyridin-2-yl)benzimidazole]hexyl}(+)BF(4)(-) (IrPiq) emission, with the peak at 595 nm. The best device performances were obtained from PFCzIrPiq4 with the device configuration of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/PFCzIrPiq4+PBD (30 wt %)/TPBI/Ba/Al (PBD: 5-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-2-(biphenyl-4-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole; TPBI: 1,3,5-tris-(2-N-phenylbenzimidazolyl)benzene). A maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 7.3 % and a luminous efficiency (LE) of 6.9 cd A(-1) with a luminance of 138 cd m(-2) were achieved at a current density of 1.9 mA cm(-2). The efficiencies remained as high as EQE=3.4 % and LE=3.3 cd A(-1) with a luminance of 3770 cd m(-2) at a current density of 115 mA cm(-2). The single-layer devices based on charged Ir polymers also showed high efficiency with the high work-function metal Ag as cathode. The maximum external quantum efficiencies of the devices were 0.64 % and 0.66 % for PFPIrPiq2 and PFPIrPiq10, respectively. A possible mechanism of an electrochemical cell associated with its electrochemical redox pathway for single-layer devices has been proposed. The results showed that the charged Ir polymers are promising candidate materials for polymer optoelectronic devices.  相似文献

A novel blue‐emitting polymer based on 3,6‐silafluorene and 2,7‐silafluorene was synthesized via the Suzuki polycondensation. The resulting polymers are readily soluble in common organic solvents, such as toluene, xylene, THF, and chloroform. The thermal, electrochemical, photophysical, and electroluminescence properties of the resulting polymers were investigated. The device fabricated from the copolymer with a configuration of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/PVK/polymer/Ba/Al exhibited an external quantum efficiency of 1.95%, a luminous efficiency of 1.69 cd A?1 and a maximal brightness of 6000 cd m?2. It has been found that the incorporation of the 3,6‐silafluorene unit into the poly(2,7‐silafluorene) main chain can not only improve the color purity of the devices from the resulting copolymer but also enhance its device efficiency. Moreover, no undesired long‐wavelength green emission was observed in the PL spectra of P36‐27SiF90 compared to that of PFO with a dominating emission at 500–600 nm after thermal annealing at 200 °C for 8 h. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
