In a systematic study of the transfer process to sulphur dioxide, in seven different H2 + SO2 gas mixtures, the time spectra of the muonic sulphur X-rays yield muon transfer rates to the SO2 molecule, deduced from the lifetimes of the p atoms, which agree all well with each other. The muonic oxygen time spectra show an additional structure as if p atoms of another kind were present. Reduced transfer ratesO are reproducible if one uses the model of ephemeral p atoms. The intensity ratios between the different kinds of p atoms are also discussed in the framework of this model and the one of black and white p atoms.  相似文献

The periodic domain structures on unfavourably oriented surface layers of ferromagnetic materials were studied both experimentally and theoretically. The connection between the surface structure and the crystallographic orientation of the crystals was confirmed. All the terms contributing to the total energy of the surface layer were calculated. A general solution of the potential problem is given for arbitrary periodic distribution of the charges.

After presenting the foundation and the basic equations of a new 5-dimensional projective unified field theory, the problem of incorporating spinor fields into this framework is investigated. Exact self-consistent solutions of the equations that describe a system of interacting spinor and massless scalar fields with the interaction Lagrangian Lint=,,(S), where (S) is an arbitrary function of the invariant S=, are obtained in Bianci I space. The brightness waves of ZnS-Cu, Mn phosphor were investigated and it was found that their shape changes from that characteristic for copper-activated phosphors to that characteristic for manganese-activated phosphors as a function of the magnitude of the voltage applied, the length of the pulses and the temperature. In order to explain the results it is assumed that simultaneously with the mechanism of electroluminescence, accepted for ZnS-Cu (ionization of activators; recombination and radiation delayed in phase compared with voltage), there exists an immediate recombination of the Cu activators in the barriers, which is accompanied by radiation in phase with the voltage.

We consider a new expression for the dependence of mass on velocity, more general than the corresponding law of the special theory of relativity (STR). The deviations from the STR become large with increasing rest mass. One should therefore measure the dependence of mass on velocity for objects with a large rest mass. The theory predicts that particles with real mass can travel with hyperlight velocities. The space-time picture discussed here is close to Mach's conception: It is assumed that the dynamical behavior of a particle in uniform translational motion is due to the action of all the other masses in the universe. Space-time is eliminated as an active cause and, in contrast to the STR, is not absolute within the theory discussed here. It turns out that effects based on the new transformation formulas (from the coordinates and time in a stationary frame to the coordinates and time in a moving frame) are identical to those expected from the Lorentz transformations. For example, it is known that rapidly moving mesons decay with a longer half-life than stationary mesons and the STR describes this effect quantitatively. However, there is no strong evidence for the validity of the STR because the theory given in this paper predicts the same result.  相似文献

We give a simplified construction of twist eating configurations, based on a theorem due to Frobenius. A new method is proposed for calculating the energy in certain special points of the Brillouin zone. The wave functions of valence and conduction electrons are given in the form of the linear combination of plane waves and the orthogonality condition of these functions to the wave functions of lower states is replaced by the repulsive potential. The practical application of this very simple method is illustrated on the energy spectrum of silicon in the centre of the Brillouin zone. It is proved that the results are comparable with some other methods, e. g. the orthogonalized plane-wave method.

The effects of edge plasma biasing have been recently investigated by different spectroscopic diagnostics on the CASTOR tokamak. Measurements in visible, VUV and XUV ranges complement the knowledge of processes during a biasing phase, and confirm the occurrence of several types of plasma biasing regimes — so called radiating regime, non-radiating regime, and reduced H regime. The use of edge plasma biasing to study the possibility of Electron Bernstein Wave conversion has been demonstrated.  相似文献

We report on the observation of Cu-EPR signals in single crystalline material of YBa2Cu3O6+ in the narrow oxygen concentration range 0.7<<0.9 and for temperatures 80 K<T<200 K. We provide evidence that the signal results from Cu2+ ions located in Cu(1)OCu(1) chain fragments.  相似文献

We consider the one-dimensional planar rotator and classical Heisenberg models with a ferromagnetic Kac potential J (r)=J(yr), J with compact support. Below the Lebowitz-Penrose critical temperature the limit (mean-field) theory exhibits a phase transition with a continuum of equilibrium states, indexed by the magnetization vectors m s, s any unit vector and m the Curie–Weiss spontaneous magnetization. We prove a large-deviation principle for the associated Gibbs measures. Then we study the system in the limit 0 below the above critical temperature. We prove that the norm of the empirical spin average in blocks of order –1 converges to m , uniformly in intervals of order p , for any p 1. We also give a lower bound to the scale on which the change of phase occurs, by showing that the empirical spin average is approximately constant on intervals having length of order -1-with (0,1) small enough.  相似文献

This contribution continues the series of papers [2, 4, 5, 12] treated by Ludwig and collaborators. It is based on the generalized frame given in [6]; there Ludwig has set up an infinite axiomatic scheme as extension of the finite system [4, 5]. The rocking curves of Ge (111), (220), (333) for CuK 1 radiation were measured by means of the triple-crystal diffractometer. Perfect silicon single crystals, cut parallel to the (111) plane were used in the monochromator part of the triple-crystal diffractometer. The results prove the suitability of such a monochromator for studying diffraction patterns.

The Gelfand-Levitan equation for the kernelP(r, r) (withrr) is formulated and then applied for determining the scattering potential in the scattering of slow neutrons on protons (for the case when the dependence of the nuclear forces on the spins can be neglected and onlys-scattering need be considered). The potentials obtained are the same as the Bargmann ones, found by a different method.
