We study the stationary problem of the drift–diffusion model with a mixed boundary condition. For this problem, the existence of solutions was established in general settings, while the uniqueness was investigated only in some special cases which do not entirely cover situations that semiconductor devices are used in integrated circuits. In this paper, we prove the uniqueness in a physically relevant situation. The key to the proof is to derive two-sided uniform estimates for the densities of the electron and hole. We establish a new technique to show the lower bound. This together with the Moser iteration method leads to the upper bound.  相似文献

We investigate the existence of solutions of a nonlinear elliptic boundary value problem at resonance. Under the condition that the associated linear boundary value problem has no sign-changing solution or nontrivial solution and some other additional conditions, we prove the existence of solutions or nontrivial (even multiple) solutions to the nonlinear problem. Thus the existence of solutions can be obtained when the nonlinearity may cross any finite number of eigenvalues of the linear problem.  相似文献

In this work, an existence theorem for the nonlinear quadratic two-point boundary value problems of functional differential equations is proved using a nonlinear alternative of Leray–Schauder type involving the product of two operators in Banach algebras. Consider an elliptic equation in the half plane with boundary conditions if and if where are second and third order differential operators. It is proved that if and, for some , if if where for some nonnegative integer , then . Results of this type are also established in case under different conditions on and ; furthermore, in one case has a lower order term which depends nonlocally on . Such Liouville type theorems arise in the study of coating flow; in fact, they play a crucial role in the analysis of the linearized version of this problem. The methods developed in this paper are entirely different for the two cases (i) and (ii) ; both methods can be extended to other linear elliptic boundary value problems in a half plane.
