Let σ be a surjective ultraweakly continuous ∗-linear mapping and d be a σ-derivation on a von Neumann algebra . We show that there are a surjective ultraweakly continuous ∗-homomorphism and a Σ-derivation such that D is ultraweakly continuous if and only if so is d. We use this fact to show that the σ-derivation d is automatically ultraweakly continuous. We also prove the converse in the sense that if σ is a linear mapping and d is an ultraweakly continuous ∗-σ-derivation on , then there is an ultraweakly continuous linear mapping such that d is a ∗-Σ-derivation.   相似文献

We investigate the viability of observing charged Higgs bosons () produced in association with bosons at the CERN large hadron collider, using the leptonic decay and hadronic decay, within different scenarios of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) with both real and complex parameters. Performing a parton level study we show how the irreducible standard model background from jets can be controlled by applying appropriate cuts and find that the size of a possible signal depends on the cuts needed to suppress QCD backgrounds and misidentifications. In the standard maximal mixing scenario of the MSSM we find a viable signal for large and intermediate masses () when using softer cuts (,  50 GeV), whereas for harder cuts (, 100 GeV) we only find a viable signal for very large (). We have also investigated a special class of MSSM scenarios with large mass splittings among the heavy Higgs bosons where the cross-section can be resonantly enhanced by factors up to one hundred, with a strong dependence on the -violating phases. Even so we find that the signal after cuts remains small except for small masses () when using the softer cuts. Finally, in all the scenarios we have investigated we have only found small -asymmetries.  相似文献

We calculate the one-photon loop radiative corrections to virtual pion Compton scattering → , that subprocess which determines in the one-photon exchange approximation the pion-nucleus bremsstrahlung reaction ZZ . Ultraviolet and infrared divergencies of the loop integrals are both treated by dimensional regularization. Analytical expressions for the O() corrections to the virtual Compton scattering amplitudes, A(s, u, Q) and B(s, u, Q) , are derived with their full dependence on the (small) photon virtuality Q from 9 classes of contributing one-loop diagrams. Infrared finiteness of these virtual radiative corrections is achieved (in the standard way) by including soft photon radiation below an energy cut-off . In the region of low center-of-mass energies, where the pion-nucleus bremsstrahlung process is used to extract the pion electric and magnetic polarizabilities, we find radiative corrections up to about -3% for = 5 MeV. Furthermore, we extend our calculation of the radiative corrections to virtual pion Compton scattering → by including the leading pion-structure effect in the form of the polarizability difference - . Our analytical results are particularly relevant for analyzing the data of the COMPASS experiment at CERN which aims at measuring the pion electric and magnetic polarizabilities with high statistics using the Primakoff effect.  相似文献

In we consider a family of selfadjoint operators of the Friedrichs model: . Here is the operator of multiplication by the corresponding function of the independent variable , and (perturbation) is a trace-class integral operator with a continuous Hermitian kernel satisfying some smoothness condition. These absolute type operators have one singular point of order . Conditions on the kernel are found guaranteeing the absence of the point spectrum and the singular continuous one of such operators near the origin. These conditions are actually necessary and sufficient. They depend on the finiteness of the rank of a perturbation operator and on the order of singularity . The sharpness of these conditions is confirmed by counterexamples.  相似文献

In this paper we present a theorem that establishes a relation between continuous, norm-bounded functions from a metric space into a separable Hilbert space and weak convergence of sequences of probability measures on the metric space. After establishing this result, it’s application to the stability theory of Feynman’s operational calculi will be illustrated. We will see that the existing time-dependent stability theory of the operational calculi will be significantly improved when the operator-valued functions take their values in , a separable Hilbert space.   相似文献

An unparticle with scaling dimension has peculiar thermal properties due to its unique phase space structure. We find that the equation of state parameter , the ratio of pressure to energy density, is given by providing a new form of energy in our universe. In an expanding universe, the unparticle energy density evolves dramatically differently from that for photons. For , even if at a high decoupling temperature T D is very small, it is possible to have a large relic density at present photon temperature T γ 0, large enough to play the role of dark matter. We calculate T D and using photon–unparticle interactions for illustration.  相似文献

Measured ratios of decay rates for , and are presented. These measurements are based on K± decays collected in a dedicated run in 2003 by the NA48/2 experiment at CERN. The results obtained are and . Using the PDG average for the K±→π±π0 normalisation mode, both values are found to be larger than the current values given by the particle data book and lead to a larger magnitude of the |Vus| CKM element than previously accepted. When combined with the latest particle data book value of |Vud|, the result is in agreement with unitarity of the CKM matrix. In addition, a new measured value of is compared to the semi-empirical predictions based on the latest form factor measurements. An erratum to this article can be found at  相似文献

We calculate the important next-to-leading-order (NLO) contributions to the BKK * decays from the vertex corrections, the quark loops, and the magnetic penguins in the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach. The pQCD predictions for the CP-averaged branching ratios are , , and Br(B 0K + K *−+K K *+)≈1.3×10−7, which agree well with both the experimental upper limits and the predictions based on the QCD factorization approach. Furthermore, the CP violating asymmetries of the considered decay modes are also evaluated. The NLO pQCD predictions for and decays are and .  相似文献

A zero modes’ Fock space is constructed for the extended chiral WZNW model. It gives room to a realization of the fusion ring of representations of the restricted quantum universal enveloping algebra at an even root of unity, and of its infinite dimensional extension by the Lusztig operators We provide a streamlined derivation of the characteristic equation for the Casimir invariant from the defining relations of A central result is the characterization of the Grothendieck ring of both and in Theorem 3.1. For an N-body Stark Hamiltonian , the resolvent estimate holds uniformly in with Re and Im , where , and is a compact interval. This estimate is well known as the limiting absorption principle. In this paper, we report that by introducing the localization in the configuration space, a refined resolvent estimate holds uniformly in with Re and Im . The single-pion production reactions pp d , pp np and pp pp were measured at a beam momentum of 0.95GeV/c ( T p 400 MeV) using the short version of the COSY-TOF spectrometer. The central calorimeter provided particle identification, energy determination and neutron detection in addition to time-of-flight and angle measurements from other detector parts. Thus all pion production channels were recorded with 1-4 overconstraints. The main emphasis is put on the presentation and discussion of the np channel, since the results on the other channels have already been published previously. The total and differential cross-sections obtained are compared to theoretical calculations. In contrast to the pp channel we observe in the np channel a strong influence of the excitation. In particular, the pion angular distribution exhibits a (3 cos2 + 1) -dependence, typical for a pure s -channel excitation and identical to that observed in the d channel. Since the latter is understood by a s -channel resonance in the 1 D 2 pn partial wave, we discuss an analogous scenario for the pn channel.  相似文献

We calculate the lowest-order cross-section for Dirac magnetic monopole production from photon fusion ( in p collisions at = 1.96 TeV, pp collisions at = 14 TeV, and we compare with Drell-Yan (DY) production. We find the total cross-section is comparable with DY at = 1.96 TeV and dominates DY by a factor > 50 at = 14 TeV. We conclude that both the and DY processes allow for a monopole mass limit m > 370 GeV based upon the null results of the recent monopole search at the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF). We also conclude that production is the leading mechanism to be considered for direct monopole searches at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).  相似文献

We analyze the impact of electron and positron beam polarization on radiative neutralino production at the international linear collider (ILC). We focus on three different mSUGRA scenarios in turn at the Higgs strahlung threshold, the top pair production threshold, and at 500 GeV. In these scenarios at the corresponding , radiative neutralino production is the only supersymmetric production mechanism that is kinematically allowed. The heavier neutralinos and charginos as well as the sleptons, squarks and gluinos are too heavy to be pair produced. We calculate the signal cross section and also the standard model background from radiative neutrino production. For our scenarios, we obtain significances larger than 10 and signal to background ratios between 2% and 5%, if we have electron beam polarization –0.8 and positron beam polarization –0.3. If we have electron beam polarization of , then the signal is observable with but both the significance and the signal to background ratio are significantly improved for .  相似文献

We study rooted self avoiding polygons and self avoiding walks on deterministic fractal lattices of finite ramification index. Different sites on such lattices are not equivalent, and the number of rooted open walks W n (S), and rooted self-avoiding polygons P n (S) of n steps depend on the root S. We use exact recursion equations on the fractal to determine the generating functions for P n (S), and W n(S) for an arbitrary point S on the lattice. These are used to compute the averages ,, and over different positions of S. We find that the connectivity constant μ, and the radius of gyration exponent are the same for the annealed and quenched averages. However, , and , where the exponents and , take values different from the annealed case. These are expressed as the Lyapunov exponents of random product of finite-dimensional matrices. For the 3-simplex lattice, our numerical estimation gives and , to be compared with the known annealed values and .  相似文献

A Hermitian and an anti-Hermitian first-order intertwining operators are introduced and a class of η-weak-pseudo-Hermitian position-dependent mass (PDM) Hamiltonians are constructed. A corresponding reference-target η-weak-pseudo-Hermitian PDM—Hamiltonians’ map is suggested. Some η-weak-pseudo-Hermitian -symmetric Scarf II and periodic-type models are used as illustrative examples. Energy-levels crossing and flown-away states phenomena are reported for the resulting Scarf II spectrum. Some of the corresponding η-weak-pseudo-Hermitian Scarf II- and periodic-type-isospectral models ( -symmetric and non- -symmetric) are given as products of the reference-target map.  相似文献

A Peclet number, Pe, for the drying of colloidal films can be used as a predictor of the uniformity of water concentration in the direction normal to the film. Uniform drying is predicted to occur when Pe < 1, whereas with , a layer of packed particles is expected to develop above a more dilute layer. Routh and Zimmerman have more recently proposed that the particle concentration gradient between the packed and dilute layers, , will scale as . Here, this scaling relation is tested experimentally with magnetic resonance profiling data obtained from waterborne colloidal films dried under conditions to yield a range of Pe. It is found that increases with Pe but scales as . This disagreement with the prediction can be attributed to an underestimate of Pe when there are greater non-uniformities of drying, because of an unquantified slowing down of the evaporation rate.  相似文献

From the large- QCD point of view, baryonia, tetraquark states, hybrids, and glueballs are studied. The existence of these states is argued for. They are constructed from baryons. In large- QCD, a baryonium is always identical to a glueball with valence gluons. The ground state glueball has a mass of about 2450 MeV. is identified as the lowest glueball. The lowest four-quark nonet should be , , and . Combining with the heavy quark effective theory, spectra of heavy baryonia and heavy tetraquark states are predicted. corrections are discussed. The role of the band quantum number K in influencing the character of allowed transitions in heavy deformed nuclei is examined. The conditions for the occurrence of K -forbidden decays in this region are explored. Specific cases of “allowed” decays proceeding via K = 2 to K = 6 channels are presented to illustrate the phenomenon. The listed K = 2 transitions, which by themselves contribute over 10% of all the presently known allowed transitions for A 228 nuclei, are seen to have an average , which is clearly outside the normal range for allowed transitions. It is concluded that, wherever the -connected states can be confidently labelled using the quantum numbers, the K -forbiddenness is in general as significant as that involving the other two (spin and parity) quantum numbers.  相似文献
