Novel Fe(III)Fe(III) and Fe(II)Fe(III) complexes [Fe(2)(BBPMP)(&mgr;-OAc)(&mgr;-X)](n)() (1, X = OAc(-), n = 1+; 2, X = OH(-), n = 1+; 3, X = OAc(-), n = 0; 4, X = OH(-), n = 0), where BBPMP(3)(-) is the anion of 2,6-bis[(2-hydroxybenzyl)(2-pyridylmethyl)aminomethyl]-4-methylphenol, and OAc(-) is acetate, were prepared in order to provide models for the active site of purple acid phosphatases (PAPs). Complex 1 was obtained by the reaction of H(3)BBPMP with Fe(ClO(4))(2).6H(2)O in methanol and sodium acetate trihydrate under ambient conditions, while complex 3 was synthesized as described for 1, under an argon atmosphere with low levels of dioxygen. 2 was isolated from 1in acetonitrile by a substitution of the bridging acetate group by hydroxide, while 4 was generated in solution during a spectropotentiostatic experiment on 2, under argon. Complex 1, [Fe(III)(2)(BBPMP)(&mgr;-OAc)(2)]ClO(4).H(2)O, has been characterized by X-ray crystallography. Crystal data: monoclinic, space group P2(1)/n, a = 14.863(5) ?, b = 12.315(3) ?, c = 20.872(8) ?, beta = 90.83(3) degrees, Z = 4. IR, M?ssbauer, magnetic, electronic absorption, and electrochemical properties of 1-3 have been investigated, and some of these properties represent a contribution to the understanding of the dinuclear iron center of PAPs. Complexes 2, [Fe(III)(2)(BBPMP)(&mgr;-OAc)(&mgr;-OH)]ClO(4) (lambda(max) = 568 nm/epsilon = 4760 M(-)(1) cm(-)(1)), and 4 [Fe(II)Fe(III)(BBPMP)(&mgr;-OAc)(&mgr;-OH)] (lambda(max) = 516 nm/epsilon = 4560 M(-)(1) cm(-)(1)), constitute good synthetic analogues for the chromophoric site for the oxidized and reduced forms, respectively, of the enzyme.  相似文献

A series of heterobimetallic complexes of the type [Fe(III)M(II)L(&mgr;-OAc)(OAc)(H(2)O)](ClO(4)).nH(2)O (2-5) and [{Fe(III)Co(III)L(&mgr;-OAc)(OAc)}(2)(&mgr;-O)](ClO(4))(2).3H(2)O (6) where H(2)L is a tetraaminodiphenol macrocyclic ligand and M(II) = Zn(2), Ni(3), Co(4), and Mn(5) have been synthesized and characterized. The (1)H NMR spectrum of 6 exhibits all the resonances between 1 and 12 ppm. The IR and UV-vis spectra of 2-5 indicate that in all the cases the metal ions have similar coordination environments. A disordered crystal structure determined for 3 reveals the presence of a (&mgr;-acetate)bis(&mgr;-phenoxide)-Ni(II)Fe(III) core, in which the two metal ions have 6-fold coordination geometry and each have two amino nitrogens and two phenolate oxygens as the in-plane donors; aside from the axial bridging acetate, the sixth coordination site of nickel(II) is occupied by the unidentate acetate and that of iron(III) by a water molecule. The crystal structure determination of 6 shows that the two heterobinuclear Co(III)Fe(III) units are bound by an Fe-O-Fe linkage. 6 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Ibca with a = 17.577(4) ?, b = 27.282(7) ?, c = 28.647(6) ?, and Z = 8. The two iron(III) centers in 6 are strongly antiferromagnetically coupled, J = -100 cm(-1) (H = -2JS(1).S(2)), whereas the other two S(1) = S(2) = (5)/(2) systems, viz. [Fe(2)(III)(HL)(2)(&mgr;-OH)(2)](ClO(4))(2) (1) and the Fe(III)Mn(II) complex (5), exhibit weak antiferromagnetic exchange coupling with J = -4.5 cm(-1) (1) and -1.8 cm(-1) (5). The Fe(III)Ni(II) (3) and Fe(III)Co(II) (4) systems, however, exhibit weak ferromagnetic behavior with J = 1.7 cm(-1) (3) and 4.2 cm(-1) (4). The iron(III) center in 2-5 exhibits quasi-reversible redox behavior between -0.44 and -0.48 V vs Ag/AgCl associated with reduction to iron(II). The oxidation of cobalt(II) in 4 occurs quasi-reversibly at 0.74 V, while both nickel(II) and manganese(II) in 3 and 5 undergo irreversible oxidation at 0.85 V. The electrochemical reduction of 6 leads to the generation of 4.  相似文献

In this work we report the synthesis of two novel manganese complexes, [L1(3)Mn(II)(6)](ClO(4))(6) (1·(ClO(4))(6)) and [L2Mn(II)(2)(μ-OAc)(μ-Cl)](ClO(4))(2) (2·(ClO(4))(2)), where L1(2-) is the 2,2'-(1,3-phenylenebis(methylene))bis((2-(bis(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)amino)ethyl)azanediyl)diacetic acid anion and L2 is N1,N1'-(1,3-phenylenebis(methylene))bis(N2,N2'-bis(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine). The ligands Na(2)L1 and L2 are built on the same backbone, L2 only contains nitrogen donors, while two carboxylate arms have been introduced in Na(2)L1. The two complexes have been characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, magnetic susceptibility, EPR spectroscopy, and electrochemistry. X-Ray crystallography revealed that 1 is a manganese(II) hexamer and 2 is a manganese(II) dimer featuring an unprecedented mono-μ-acetato, mono-μ-chlorido bridging motif. The ability of the complexes to catalyse H(2)O(2) disproportionation, thereby acting as models for manganese catalases, has been investigated and compared to the activity of two other related manganese complexes. The introduction of carboxylate donors in the ligands, leading to increased denticity, resulted in a drop in H(2)O(2) disproportionation activity.  相似文献

A series of iron(III) complexes 1-4 of the tripodal tetradentate ligands N,N-bis(pyrid-2-ylmethyl)-N-(2-hydroxyethyl)amine H(L1), N,N-bis(pyrid-2-ylmethyl)-N-(2-hydroxy- propyl)amine H(L2), N,N-bis(pyrid-2-ylmethyl)-N-ethoxyethanolamine H(L3), and N-((pyrid-2-ylmethyl)(1-methylimidazol-2-ylmethyl))-N-(2-hydroxyethyl)amine H(L4), have been isolated, characterized and studied as functional models for intradiol-cleaving catechol dioxygenases. In the X-ray crystal structure of [Fe(L1)Cl(2)] 1, the tertiary amine nitrogen and two pyridine nitrogen atoms of H(L1) are coordinated meridionally to iron(III) and the deprotonated ethanolate oxygen is coordinated axially. In contrast, [Fe(HL3)Cl(3)] 3 contains the tertiary amine nitrogen and two pyridine nitrogen atoms coordinated facially to iron(III) with the ligand ethoxyethanol moiety remaining uncoordinated. The X-ray structure of the bis(μ-alkoxo) dimer [{Fe(L5)Cl}(2)](ClO(4))(2)5, where HL is the tetradentate N(3)O donor ligand N,N-bis(1-methylimidazol-2-ylmethyl)-N-(2-hydroxyethyl)amine H(L5), contains the ethanolate oxygen donors coordinated to iron(III). Interestingly, the [Fe(HL)(DBC)](+) and [Fe(HL3)(HDBC)X] adducts, generated by adding ~1 equivalent of piperidine to solutions containing equimolar quantities of iron(III) complexes 1-5 and H(2)DBC (3,5-di-tert-butylcatechol), display two DBC(2-)→ iron(III) LMCT bands (λ(max): 1, 577, 905; 2, 575,915; 3, 586, 920; 4, 563, 870; 5, 557, 856 nm; Δλ(max), 299-340 nm); however, the bands are blue-shifted (λ(max): 1, 443, 700; 2, 425, 702; 3, 424, 684; 4, 431, 687; 5, 434, 685 nm; Δλ(max), 251-277 nm) on adding 1 more equivalent of piperidine to form the adducts [Fe(L)(DBC)] and [Fe(HL3)(HDBC)X]. Electronic spectral and pH-metric titration studies in methanol disclose that the ligand in [Fe(HL)(DBC)](+) is protonated. The [Fe(L)(DBC)] adducts of iron(III) complexes of bis(pyridyl)-based ligands (1,2) afford higher amounts of intradiol-cleavage products, whereas those of mono/bis(imidazole)-based ligands (4,5) yield mainly the auto-oxidation product benzoquinone. It is remarkable that the adducts [Fe(HL)(DBC)](+)/[Fe(HL3)(DBC)X] exhibit higher rates of oxygenation affording larger amounts of intradiol-cleavage products and lower amounts of benzoquinone.  相似文献

The low-spin iron(III) complex AsPh(4)[Fe(III)(bpy)(CN)(4)].CH(3)CN (1) [AsPh(4) = tetraphenylarsonium cation] and the heterobimetallic chains [{Fe(III)(L)(CN)(4)}(2)Ni(II)(H(2)O)(2)].4H(2)O with L = bpy (2) and phen (3) [bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine and phen = 1,10-phenanthroline] have been prepared and their structures determined by X-ray diffraction methods. The structure of 1 consists of mononuclear [Fe(bpy)(CN)(4)](-) anions, tetraphenylarsonium cations and acetonitrile molecules of crystallization. The iron(III) is hexacoordinated with two nitrogen atoms of the bidentate bpy and four carbon atoms of four terminal cyanide groups building a distorted octahedral surrounding around the metal atom. 2 and 3 are isomorphous compounds whose structure is made up of neutral 4,2-ribbon like bimetallic chains of formula [{Fe(III)(L)(CN)(4)}(2)Ni(II)(H(2)O)(2)] where the [Fe(III)(L)(CN)(4)](-) unit acts as a bis-monodentate bridging ligand toward the trans-diaquanickel(II) units through two of its four cyanide groups in cis positions. The chains exhibit two orientations in the unit cell and they interact with each other through hydrogen bonds involving the coordination and crystallization water molecules together with the uncoordinated cyanide nitrogen atoms of the [Fe(L)(CN)(4)](-) units. Compounds 2 and 3 behave as ferromagnetic Fe(III)(2)Ni(II) chains which interact ferromagnetically at very low temperatures in the case of 2, whereas metamagnetic-like behaviour is observed for with a critical field (H(c)) around 200 G. For H > H(c) the ferromagnetic Fe(III)(2)Ni(II) chains of 3 exhibit a frequency dependence of the out-of-phase ac susceptibility signal at T < 3.5 K.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of six novel mononuclear Mn(II) and Mn(III) complexes are presented. The tripodal ligands 2-((bis(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)amino)methyl)-4-nitrophenol (HL1), 2-[[((6-methylpyridin-2-yl)methyl)(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)amino]methyl]-4-nitrophenol (HL2), (2-pyridylmethyl)(6-methyl-2-pyridylmethyl)(2-hydroxybenzyl)amine (HL3) and 2-((bis(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)amino)methyl)-4-bromophenol were used. All ligands provide an N3O donor set. The compounds [Mn(II)(HL1)Cl2].CH3OH (1), [Mn(III)(L1)Cl2] (2), [Mn(II)(HL2)(EtOH)Cl2] (3), [Mn(II)(HL3)Cl2].CH3OH (4), [Mn(III)(HL4)Br2] (5) and [Mn(III)(L1)(tcc)] (6), with tcc = tetrachlorocatecholate dianion, were synthesized and characterized by various techniques such as X-ray crystallography, mass spectrometry, IR and UV-vis spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, and elemental analysis. Compound 1 crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1, compounds 2, 3 and 4 were solved in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c, whereas the structure determination of and succeeded in the orthorhombic space groups Pbca and P2(1)2(1)2(1), respectively. Notably, the crystal structures of 1 and 3 are the first Mn(II) complexes featuring a non-coordinating phenol moiety. Compound 2 oxidizes 3,5-di-tert-butylcatechol to 3,5-di-tert-butylquinone exhibiting saturation kinetics at high substrate concentrations with a turnover number of kcat = 173 h(-1). The electronic influence of different substituents in para position of the phenol group is lined out.  相似文献

The synthetic route toward new unsymmetric compartmental "end-off" Schiff-base ligands in a straightforward two-step reaction of 2,6-diformyl-4-methylphenol and two different amine components is presented. To demonstrate the versatility of this method, we have synthesized two different single-Schiff-base proligands, Hbpahmb and Hphmb, utilizing (2-aminoethyl)bis(2-pyridylmethyl)amine and (2-aminomethyl)pyridine, respectively. Subsequent reaction with thiosemicarbazide as the second amine component leads to the novel unsymmetric double-Schiff-base ligands {1-[3-[2-[bis(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)amino]ethyliminomethyl]-2-hydroxy-5-methylphenyl]methylidene}hydrazine carbothioamide (H2bpamptsc) and {1-[3-(pyridin-2-ylmethyliminomethyl)-2-hydroxy-5-methylphenyl]methylidene}hydrazine carbothioamide (H2pmptsc). Both ligands provide two distinctly different coordination pockets: a rigid tridentate N,O,S donor set of the hydrazide compartment versus a rather flexible pentadentate (H2bpamptsc) or tridentate (H2pmptsc) nitrogen-rich chelating side arm. The reaction of the ligand H2bpamptsc with zinc(II) acetate and copper(II) perchlorate yields the heterobinuclear Cu-Zn complex [CuZn(bpamptsc)(mu2,eta1-OAc)(MeCN)](ClO4) (1).  相似文献

Two new cyano-bridged one-dimensional heterobimetallic coordination polymers, [(bpca)(2)Fe(III)(2)(CN)(6)Cu(H(2)O)(2).1.5H(2)O](n)() (2) and [(bpca)Fe(III)(CN)(3)Cu(bpca)(H(2)O).H(2)O](n)() (3), and a trinuclear complex, [(bpca)(2)Fe(III)(2)(CN)(6)Mn(CH(3)OH)(2)(H(2)O)(2)].2H(2)O (4), have been synthesized using the tailored tricyanometalate precursor (Bu(4)N)[Fe(bpca)(CN)(3)].H(2)O (1) (Bu(4)N(+) = tetrabutylammonium cation; bpca = bis(2-pyridylcarbonyl)amidate anion) as a building block and structurally characterized. In complex 2, the Cu(II) ions are six-coordinated in an elongated distorted octahedral environment, and they are linked by distorted octahedrons of [Fe(bpca)(CN)(3)](-) to form 1D chain of squares. Complex 3 is an unexpected chiral heterobimetallic helical chain complex, in which the helical chain consists of the asymmetric unit of [(bpca)Fe(CN)(3)Cu(bpca)(H(2)O)]. In complex 4, there are two independent trinuclear clusters in one asymmetric unit, and the coordination modes of the two methanol and two water molecules coordinating to the central Mn(II) ion are different (cis and trans). Complex 2 shows metamagnetic behavior with a Neel temperature of T(N) = 2.2 K and a critical field of 250 Oe at 1.8 K, where the cyanides mediate the intrachain ferromagnetic coupling between the Cu(II) and Fe(III) ions. Complex 3 shows ferromagnetic coupling between Cu(II) and Fe(III) ions, the best-fit for chi(M)T versus T using a 1D alternating chain model leads to the parameters J(1) = 7.9(3) cm(-)(1), J(2) = 1.03(2) cm(-)(1), and g = 2.196(3). Complex 4 exhibits ferrimagnetic behavior caused by the noncompensation of the local interacting spins (S(Mn) = 5/2 and S(Fe) = 1/2) which interact antiferromagnetically through bridging cyano groups.  相似文献

Analogues of the ligand 2,2'-(2-hydroxy-5-methyl-1,3-phenylene)bis(methylene)bis((pyridin-2-ylmethyl)azanediyl)diethanol (CH(3)H(3)L1) are described. Complexation of these analogues, 2,6-bis(((2-methoxyethyl)(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)amino)methyl)-4-methylphenol (CH(3)HL2), 4-bromo-2,6-bis(((2-methoxyethyl)(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)amino)methyl)phenol (BrHL2), 2,6-bis(((2-methoxyethyl)(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)amino)methyl)-4-nitrophenol (NO(2)HL2) and 4-methyl-2,6-bis(((2-phenoxyethyl)(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)amino)methyl)phenol (CH(3)HL3) with zinc(II) acetate afforded [Zn(2)(CH(3)L2)(CH(3)COO)(2)](PF(6)), [Zn(2)(NO(2)L2)(CH(3)COO)(2)](PF(6)), [Zn(2)(BrL2)(CH(3)COO)(2)](PF(6)) and [Zn(2)(CH(3)L3)(CH(3)COO)(2)](PF(6)), in addition to [Zn(4)(CH(3)L2)(2)(NO(2)C(6)H(5)OPO(3))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](PF(6))(2) and [Zn(4)(BrL2)(2)(PO(3)F)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](PF(6))(2). The complexes were characterized using (1)H and (13)C NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, microanalysis, and X-ray crystallography. The complexes contain either a coordinated methyl- (L2 ligands) or phenyl- (L3 ligand) ether, replacing the potentially nucleophilic coordinated alcohol in the previously reported complex [Zn(2)(CH(3)HL1)(CH(3)COO)(H(2)O)](PF(6)). Functional studies of the zinc complexes with the substrate bis(2,4-dinitrophenyl) phosphate (BDNPP) showed them to be competent catalysts with, for example, [Zn(2)(CH(3)L2)](+), k(cat) = 5.70 ± 0.04 × 10(-3) s(-1) (K(m) = 20.8 ± 5.0 mM) and [Zn(2)(CH(3)L3)](+), k(cat) = 3.60 ± 0.04 × 10(-3) s(-1) (K(m) = 18.9 ± 3.5 mM). Catalytically relevant pK(a)s of 6.7 and 7.7 were observed for the zinc(II) complexes of CH(3)L2(-) and CH(3)L3(-), respectively. Electron donating para-substituents enhance the rate of hydrolysis of BDNPP such that k(cat)p-CH(3) > p-Br > p-NO(2). Use of a solvent mixture containing H(2)O(18)/H(2)O(16) in the reaction with BDNPP showed that for [Zn(2)(CH(3)L2)(CH(3)COO)(2)](PF(6)) and [Zn(2)(NO(2)L2)(CH(3)COO)(2)](PF(6)), as well as [Zn(2)(CH(3)HL1)(CH(3)COO)(H(2)O)](PF(6)), the (18)O label was incorporated in the product of the hydrolysis suggesting that the nucleophile involved in the hydrolysis reaction was a Zn-OH moiety. The results are discussed with respect to the potential nucleophilic species (coordinated deprotonated alcohol versus coordinated hydroxide).  相似文献

We report the characterization and solution chemistry of a series of Fe(II) complexes based on the pentadentate ligands N4Py (1,1-di(pyridin-2-yl)-N,N-bis(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)methanamine), MeN4Py (1,1-di(pyridin-2-yl)-N,N-bis(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)ethanamine), and the tetradentate ligand Bn-N3Py (N-benzyl-1,1-di(pyridin-2-yl)-N-(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)methanamine) ligands, i.e., [Fe(N4Py)(CH(3)CN)](ClO(4))(2) (1), [Fe(MeN4Py)(CH(3)CN)](ClO(4))(2) (2), and [Fe(Bn-N3Py)(CH(3)CN)(2)](ClO(4))(2) (3), respectively. Complexes 2 and 3 are characterized by X-ray crystallography, which indicates that they are low-spin Fe(II) complexes in the solid state. The solution properties of 1-3 are investigated using (1)H NMR, UV/vis absorption, and resonance Raman spectroscopies, cyclic voltammetry, and ESI-MS. These data confirm that in acetonitrile the complexes retain their solid-state structure, but in water immediate ligand exchange of the CH(3)CN ligand(s) for hydroxide or aqua ligands occurs with full dissociation of the polypyridyl ligand at low (<3) and high (>9) pH. pH jumping experiments confirm that over at least several minutes the ligand dissociation observed is fully reversible for complexes 1 and 2. In the pH range between 5 and 8, complexes 1 and 2 show an equilibrium between two different species. Furthermore, the aquated complexes show a spin equilibrium between low- and high-spin states with the equilibrium favoring the high-spin state for 1 but favoring the low-spin state for 2. Complex 3 forms only one species over the pH range 4-8, outside of which ligand dissociation occurs. The speciation analysis and the observation of an equilibrium between spin states in aqueous solution is proposed to be the origin of the effectiveness of complex 1 in cleaving DNA in water with (3)O(2) as terminal oxidant.  相似文献

The novel mononuclear complex PPh(4)-mer-[Fe(III)(bpca)(3)(CN)(3)].H(2)O (1) [PPh(4)(+) = tetraphenylphosphonium cation and bpca = bis(2-pyridylcarbonyl)amidate anion] and ladder-like chain compound [[Fe(III)(bpca)(micro-CN)(3)Mn(II)(H(2)O)(3)] [Fe(III)(bpca)(CN)(3)]].3H(2)O (2) have been prepared and characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis. Compound 1 is a low-spin iron(III) compound with three cyanide ligands in mer arrangement and a tridentate N-donor ligand building a distorted octahedral environment around the iron atom. Compound 2 is an ionic salt made up of cationic ladder-like chains [[Fe(III)(bpca)(micro-CN)(3)Mn(II)(H(2)O)(3)]](+) and uncoordinated anions [Fe(III)(bpca)(3)(CN)(3)](-). The magnetic properties of 2 correspond to those of a ferrimagnetic chain with significant intrachain antiferromagnetic coupling between the low-spin iron(III) centers and the high-spin manganese(II) cations. This compound exhibits ferrimagnetic ordering below 2.0 K.  相似文献

A series of iron(III) complexes of the type [Fe(L)Cl3], where L is the variously N-alkyl-substituted bis(pyrid-2-ylmethyl)amine ligand such as bis(pyrid-2-ylmethyl)amine (L1), N,N-bis(pyrid-2-ylmethyl)methylamine (L2), N,N-bis(pyrid-2-ylmethyl)-n-propylamine (L3), N,N-bis(pyrid-2-ylmethyl)-iso-butylamine (L4), N,N-bis(pyrid-2-ylmethyl)-iso-propylamine (L5), N,N-bis(pyrid-2-ylmethyl)cyclohexylamine (L6), and N,N-bis(pyrid-2-ylmethyl)-tert-butylamine (L7), have been isolated and characterized by elemental analysis and spectral and electrochemical methods. The crystal structures of the complexes [Fe(L2)Cl3] 2, [Fe(L3)Cl3] 3, and the complex-substrate adduct [Fe(L5)(TCC)(NO3)] 5a, where TCC2- is the tetrachlorocatecholate dianion, have been determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The complexes [Fe(L2)Cl3] 2 and [Fe(L3)Cl3] 3 possess a distorted octahedral geometry, in which the linear tridentate 3N ligands are cis-facially coordinated to the iron(III) center, and three chloride ions occupy the remaining coordination sites. The replacement of the N-methyl group in 2 by N-n-propyl group as in 3 leads to the formation of the Fe-Npy bonds and also the Fe-Cl bonds located trans to them of different lengths. The catecholate adduct 5a also possesses a distorted octahedral geometry, in which the ligand is cis-facially coordinated to iron(III) center, TCC2- is asymmetrically chelated trans to the two pyridyl moieties of the ligand, and one of the oxygen atoms of the nitrate ion occupies the sixth coordination site. All of the present complexes have been interacted with simple and substituted catechols. The catecholate adducts [Fe(L)(DBC)Cl] and [Fe(L)(DBC)(Sol)]+, where H2DBC is 3,5-di-tert-butylcatechol and Sol=H2O/CH3CN, have been generated in situ, and their spectral and redox properties and dioxygenase activities have been studied in dimethylformamide and dichloromethane solutions. All of the complexes catalyze the cleavage of H2DBC using molecular oxygen to afford both intra- and extradiol cleavage products. The formation of extradiol cleavage products is facilitated by cis-facial coordination of the 3N ligands and availability of vacant coordination site on iron(III) center for dioxygen binding. It is remarkable that the nature of the N-alkyl substituent in 3N ligands controls the regioselectivity of cleavage, with the n-propyl, iso-butyl, iso-propyl, and cyclohexyl groups enhancing the yield of extradiol products (46-68%) in dichloromethane. The rate of oxygenation depends upon the solvent and the Lewis acidity of iron(III) center as modified by the sterically demanding N-alkyl groups-length and degree of substitution. The plot of log (kO2) versus energy of the low-energy DBC2--to-iron(III) LMCT band is linear, demonstrating the importance of the Lewis acidity of the iron(III) center in dictating the rate of the dioxygenase reaction.  相似文献

Two new iron complexes, [L(5)(3)Fe(II)Cl]PF(6) (1.PF(6)) and [(L(5)(3)H(+))Fe(III)Cl(3)]PF(6) (2.PF(6)), were synthesized (L(5)(3) = N-methyl-N,N',N'-tris(2-pyridylmethyl)propane-1,3-diamine), and their molecular structures were determined by X-ray crystallography. Their behavior in solution was studied by UV-vis spectroscopy and electrochemistry. Upon addition of a base to an acetonitrile solution of 2, the new unsymmetrical dinuclear complex [L(5)(3)Fe(III)OFe(III)Cl(3)](+) was detected. Treating 1 with hydrogen peroxide has allowed us to detect the low spin [L(5)(3)Fe(III)OOH](2+). Its spectroscopic properties (UV-vis, EPR and resonance Raman) are similar to those reported for related FeOOH complexes obtained with amine/pyridine ligands. Using stopped-flow absorption spectroscopy, the formation and degradation of [L(5)(3)Fe(III)OOH](2+) has been monitored, and a mechanism is proposed to reproduce the kinetic data.  相似文献

The reaction of manganese(II) acetate with a xanthene-bridged bis[3-(salicylideneamino)-1-propanol] ligand, H(4)L, afforded the tetramanganese(II,II,III,III) complex [Mn(4)(L)(2)(μ-OAc)(2)], which has an incomplete double-cubane structure. The corresponding reaction using manganese(II) chloride in the presence of a base gave the tetramanganese(III,III,III,III) complex [Mn(4)(L)(2)Cl(3)(μ(4)-Cl)(OH(2))], in which four Mn ions are bridged by a Cl(-) ion. A pair of L ligands has a propensity to incorporate four Mn ions, the arrangement and oxidation states of which are dependent on the coexistent anions.  相似文献

The reaction of [Fe(III)L(CN)(3)](-) (L being bpca = bis(2-pyridylcarbonyl)amidate, pcq = 8-(pyridine-2-carboxamido)quinoline) or [Fe(III)(bpb)(CN)(2)](-) (bpb = 1,2-bis(pyridine-2-carboxamido)benzenate) ferric complexes with Mn(III) salen type complexes afforded seven new bimetallic cyanido-bridged Mn(III)-Fe(III) systems: [Fe(pcq)(CN)(3)Mn(saltmen)(CH(3)OH)]·CH(3)OH (1), [Fe(bpca)(CN)(3)Mn(3-MeO-salen)(OH(2))]·CH(3)OH·H(2)O (2), [Fe(bpca)(CN)(3)Mn(salpen)] (3), [Fe(bpca)(CN)(3)Mn(saltmen)] (4), [Fe(bpca)(CN)(3)Mn(5-Me-saltmen)]·2CHCl(3) (5), [Fe(pcq)(CN)(3)Mn(5-Me-saltmen)]·2CH(3)OH·0.75H(2)O (6), and [Fe(bpb)(CN)(2)Mn(saltmen)]·2CH(3)OH (7) (with saltmen(2-) = N,N'-(1,1,2,2-tetramethylethylene)bis(salicylideneiminato) dianion, salpen(2-) = N,N'-propylenebis(salicylideneiminato) dianion, salen(2-) = N,N'-ethylenebis(salicylideneiminato) dianion). Single crystal X-ray diffraction studies were carried out for all these compounds indicating that compounds 1 and 2 are discrete dinuclear [Fe(III)-CN-Mn(III)] complexes while systems 3-7 are heterometallic chains with {-NC-Fe(III)-CN-Mn(III)} repeating units. These chains are connected through π-π and short contact interactions to form extended supramolecular networks. Investigation of the magnetic properties revealed the occurrence of antiferromagnetic Mn(III)···Fe(III) interactions in 1-4 while ferromagnetic Mn(III)···Fe(III) interactions were detected in 5-7. The nature of these Mn(III)···Fe(III) magnetic interactions mediated by a CN bridge appeared to be dependent on the Schiff base substituent. The packing is also strongly affected by the nature of the substituent and the presence of solvent molecules, resulting in additional antiferromagnetic interdinuclear/interchain interactions. Thus the crystal packing and the supramolecular interactions induce different magnetic properties for these systems. The dinuclear complexes 1 and 2, which possess a paramagnetic S(T) = 3/2 ground state, interact antiferromagnetically in their crystal packing. At high temperature, the complexes 3-7 exhibit a one-dimensional magnetic behavior, but at low temperature their magnetic properties are modulated by the supramolecular arrangement: a three-dimensional antiferromagnetic order with a metamagnetic behavior is observed for 3, 4, and 7, and Single-Chain Magnet properties are detected for 5 and 6.  相似文献

Two heterotrinuclear complexes, [Mn(II)(Ni(II)L)2].2CH3OH (where H3L = 1,1,1-tris(N-salicylideneaminomethyl)ethane) and [Fe(III)(Ni(II)L)2]NO3.C2H5OH, consisting of three face-sharing octahedra have been prepared; although these complexes have closely related structures and have the same 1-5/2-1 spin system, they show completely different magnetic interactions between the adjacent metal ions: ferromagnetic (Ni(II)-Mn(II)) and antiferromagnetic (Ni(II)-Fe(III)).  相似文献

The electronic structures of six-coordinate iron(III) octaethylmonoazaporphyrins, [Fe(MAzP)L 2] (+/-) ( 1), have been examined by means of (1)H NMR and EPR spectroscopy to reveal the effect of meso-nitrogen in the porphyrin ring. The complexes carrying axial ligands with strong field strengths such as 1-MeIm, DMAP, CN (-), and (t)BuNC adopt the low-spin state with the (d xy ) (2)(d xz , d yz ) (3) ground state in a wide temperature range where the (1)H NMR and EPR spectra are taken. In contrast, the complexes with much weaker axial ligands, such as 4-CNPy and 3,5-Cl 2Py, exhibit the spin transition from the mainly S = 3/2 at 298 K to the S = 1/2 with the (d xy ) (2)(d xz , d yz ) (3) ground state at 4 K. Only the THF complex has maintained the S = 3/2 throughout the temperature range examined. Thus, the electronic structures of 1 resemble those of the corresponding iron(III) octaethylporphyrins, [Fe(OEP)L 2] (+/-) ( 2). A couple of differences have been observed, however, in the electronic structures of 1 and 2. One of the differences is the electronic ground state in low-spin bis( (t)BuNC) complexes. While [Fe(OEP)( (t)BuNC) 2] (+) adopts the (d xz , d yz ) (4)(d xy ) (1) ground state, like most of the bis( (t)BuNC) complexes reported previously, [Fe(MAzP)( (t)BuNC) 2] (+) has shown the (d xy ) (2)(d xz , d yz ) (3) ground state. Another difference is the spin state of the bis(3,5-Cl 2Py) complexes. While [Fe(OEP)(3,5-Cl 2Py) 2] (+) has maintained the mixed S = 3/2 and 5/2 spin state from 298 to 4 K, [Fe(MAzP)(3,5-Cl 2Py) 2] (+) has shown the spin transition mentioned above. These differences have been ascribed to the narrower N4 cavity and the presence of lower-lying pi* orbital in MAzP as compared with OEP.  相似文献

A series of catecholatoiron(III) complexes, [Fe(III)L(4Cl-cat)]BPh4 (L = (4-MeO)2TPA (1), TPA (2), (4-Cl)2TPA (3), (4-NO2)TPA (4), (4-NO2)2TPA (5); TPA = tris(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)amine; 4Cl-cat = 4-chlorocatecholate), have been characterized by magnetic susceptibility measurements and EPR, 1H NMR, and UV-vis-NIR spectroscopies to clarify the correlation of the spin delocalization on the catecholate ligand with the O2 reactivity as well as the spin-state dependence of the O2 reactivity. EPR spectra in frozen CH3CN at 123 K clearly showed that introduction of electron-withdrawing groups effectively shifts the spin equilibrium from a high-spin to a low-spin state. The effective magnetic moments determined by the Evans method in a CH3CN solution showed that 5 contains 36% of low-spin species at 243 K, while 1-4 are predominantly in a high-spin state. Evaluation of spin delocalization on the 4Cl-cat ligand by paramagnetic 1H NMR shifts revealed that the semiquinonatoiron(II) character is more significant in the low-spin species than in the high-spin species. The logarithm of the reaction rate constant is linearly correlated with the energy gap between the catecholatoiron(III) and semiquinonatoiron(II) states for the high-spin complexes 1-3, although complexes 4 and 5 deviate negatively from linearity. The lower reactivity of the low-spin complex, despite its higher spin density on the catecholate ligand compared with the high-spin analogues, suggests the involvement of the iron(III) center, rather than the catecholate ligand, in the reaction with O2.  相似文献

New heterobimetallic tetranuclear complexes of formula [Fe(III){B(pz)(4)}(CN)(2)(μ-CN)Mn(II)(bpy)(2)](2)(ClO(4))(2)·CH(3)CN (1), [Fe(III){HB(pz)(3)}(CN)(2)(μ-CN)Ni(II)(dmphen)(2)](2)(ClO(4))(2)·2CH(3)OH (2a), [Fe(III){B(pz)(4)}(CN)(2)(μ-CN)Ni(II)(dmphen)(2)](2)(ClO(4))(2)·2CH(3)OH (2b), [Fe(III){HB(pz)(3)}(CN)(2)(μ-CN)Co(II)(dmphen)(2)](2)(ClO(4))(2)·2CH(3)OH (3a), and [Fe(III){B(pz)(4)}(CN)(2)(μ-CN)Co(II)(dmphen)(2)](2)(ClO(4))(2)·2CH(3)OH (3b), [HB(pz)(3)(-) = hydrotris(1-pyrazolyl)borate, B(Pz)(4)(-) = tetrakis(1-pyrazolyl)borate, dmphen = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine] have been synthesized and structurally and magnetically characterized. Complexes 1-3b have been prepared by following a rational route based on the self-assembly of the tricyanometalate precursor fac-[Fe(III)(L)(CN)(3)](-) (L = tridentate anionic ligand) and cationic preformed complexes [M(II)(L')(2)(H(2)O)(2)](2+) (L' = bidentate α-diimine type ligand), this last species having four blocked coordination sites and two labile ones located in cis positions. The structures of 1-3b consist of cationic tetranuclear Fe(III)(2)M(II)(2) square complexes [M = Mn (1), Ni (2a and 2b), Co (3a and 3b)] where corners are defined by the metal ions and the edges by the Fe-CN-M units. The charge is balanced by free perchlorate anions. The [Fe(L)(CN)(3)](-) complex in 1-3b acts as a ligand through two cyanide groups toward two divalent metal complexes. The magnetic properties of 1-3b have been investigated in the temperature range 2-300 K. A moderately strong antiferromagnetic interaction between the low-spin Fe(III) (S = 1/2) and high-spin Mn(II) (S = 5/2) ions has been found for 1 leading to an S = 4 ground state (J(1) = -6.2 and J(2) = -2.7 cm(-1)), whereas a moderately strong ferromagnetic interaction between the low-spin Fe(III) (S = 1/2) and high-spin Ni(II) (S = 1) and Co(II) (S = 3/2) ions has been found for complexes 2a-3b with S = 3 (2a and 2b) and S = 4 (3a and 3b) ground spin states [J(1) = +21.4 cm(-1) and J(2) = +19.4 cm(-1) (2a); J(1) = +17.0 cm(-1) and J(2) = +12.5 cm(-1) (2b); J(1) = +5.4 cm(-1) and J(2) = +11.1 cm(-1) (3a); J(1) = +8.1 cm(-1) and J(2) = +11.0 cm(-1) (3b)] [the exchange Hamiltonian being of the type H? = -J(S?(i)·S?(j))]. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations have been used to substantiate the nature and magnitude of the exchange magnetic coupling observed in 1-3b and also to analyze the dependence of the exchange magnetic coupling on the structural parameters of the Fe-C-N-M skeleton.  相似文献

The complexes [(L)(2)Ni(II)(2)M(II)(mu(2)-1,3-OAc)(2)(mu(2)-1,1-OAc)(2)(S)(2)] x xMeOH [HL = N-methyl-N-(2-hydroxybenzyl)-2-aminoethyl-2-pyridine; M = Ni, S = MeOH, x = 6 (1); M = Mn, S = H(2)O, x = 0 (2); M = Co, S = MeOH, x = 6 (3)] have been synthesized. Crystal structures reveal that three octahedral MII ions form a linear array with two terminal moieties {(L)Ni(II)(mu(2)-1,3-OAc)(mu(2)-1,1-OAc)(MeOH/H(2)O)}(-) in a facial donor set and a central MII ion which is connected to the terminal ions via bridging phenolate and two types of bridging acetates. Magnetic measurements reveal that the Ni(II)(3) and Ni(II)(2)Co(II) centers are ferromagnetically and Ni(II)(2)Mn(II) center is antiferromagnetically coupled. An attempt has been made to rationalize the observed magneto-structural behavior.  相似文献
