A powerful dynamical neutrino source with a hard spectrum obtained via the (n, γ) activation of 7Li and a subsequent β? decay (T 1/2=0.84 s) of 8Li with the emission of high-energy $\tilde \nu _e$ (up to 13 MeV) is discussed. In the dynamical system, lithium is pumped over in a closed cycle through a converter near the reactor core and further to a remote $\tilde \nu _e$ detector. It is shown that, owing to a large growth of the hardness of the total $\tilde \nu _e$ spectrum, the cross section for the interaction with a deuteron can strongly increase both in the neutral ( $\tilde \nu _e + d \uparrow n + p + \tilde \nu _e$ ) and in the charged ( $\tilde \nu _e + d \uparrow n + n + e^ +$ ) channel in relation to the analogous cross sections in the reactor $\tilde \nu _e$ spectrum.  相似文献

We consider magnetic Schrödinger operators $$H(\lambda \vec a) = ( - i\nabla - \lambda \vec a(x))^2$$ inL 2(R n ), where $\vec a \in C^1 (R^n ;R^n )$ and λεR. LettingM={x;B(x)=0}, whereB is the magnetic field associated with $\vec a$ , and $M_{\vec a} = \{ x;\vec a(x) = 0\}$ , we prove that $H(\lambda \vec a)$ converges to the (Dirichlet) Laplacian on the closed setM in the strong resolvent sense, as λ→∞,provided the set $M\backslash M_{\vec a}$ has measure zero. In various situations, which include the case of periodic fields, we even obtain norm resolvent convergence (again under the condition that $M\backslash M_{\vec a}$ has measure zero). As a consequence, if we are given a periodic fieldB where the regions withB=0 have non-empty interior and are enclosed by the region withB≠0, magnetic wells will be created when λ is large, opening up gaps in the spectrum of $H(\lambda \vec a)$ . We finally address the question of absolute continuity of $\vec a$ for periodic $H(\vec a)$ .  相似文献

The properties of matter-induced neutrino decay with majoron emission are analysed in some details for the cases of Majorana, ZKM and Dirac neutrinos. The result of such a decay of solarv e 's in the sun interior could be the appearance of \(\bar \nu _e \) flux. Assuming that the neutrinos have only standard weak interactions, the solar \(\bar \nu _e \) flux can be at the border of detectability for the future large volume detectors like Borex or Super-Kamiokande. However, the \(\bar \nu _e \) signal can be considerably larger, provided the neutrinos have new non-standard interactions with matter.  相似文献

We estimate $BR(K \to \pi \nu \bar \nu )$ in the context of the Standard Model by fitting for λ tV tdV ts * of the “kaon unitarity triangle” relation. To find the vertex of this triangle, we fit data from |? K|, the CP-violating parameter describing K mixing, and a ψ,K , the CP-violating asymmetry in B d 0 J/ψK 0 decays, and obtain the values $\left. {BR(K \to \pi \nu \bar \nu )} \right|_{SM} = (7.07 \pm 1.03) \times 10^{ - 11} $ and $\left. {BR(K_L^0 \to \pi ^0 \nu \bar \nu )} \right|_{SM} = (2.60 \pm 0.52) \times 10^{ - 11} $ . Our estimate is independent of the CKM matrix element V cb and of the ratio of B-mixing frequencies ${{\Delta m_{B_s } } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{\Delta m_{B_s } } {\Delta m_{B_d } }}} \right. \kern-0em} {\Delta m_{B_d } }}$ . We also use the constraint estimation of λ t with additional data from $\Delta m_{B_d } $ and |V ub|. This combined analysis slightly increases the precision of the rate estimation of $K^ + \to \pi ^ + \nu \bar \nu $ and $K_L^0 \to \pi ^0 \nu \bar \nu $ (by ?10 and ?20%, respectively). The measured value of $BR(K^ + \to \pi ^ + \nu \bar \nu )$ can be compared both to this estimate and to predictions made from ${{\Delta m_{B_s } } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{\Delta m_{B_s } } {\Delta m_{B_d } }}} \right. \kern-0em} {\Delta m_{B_d } }}$ .  相似文献

It was reported that the contributions of the non-standardWWγ couplings called λγ and \(\bar \lambda _\gamma \) to the anomalous magnetic moments and the electric dipole moments of fermions depend on regularization schemes of the loop integral. We find that this dependence does not exist in the contributions of the λγ and \(\bar \lambda _\gamma \) couplings to the flavor changing neutral current (FCNC) processes of quarks such asbsγ. By utilizing the experimental upper bound of the branching ratio of the processBK *γ, we obtain the allowed regions of λγ and \(\bar \lambda _\gamma \) that do not depend on regularization schemes of the loop integral. The cut-off independent constraints of the other non-standardWWγ couplings called Δκλ and \(\tilde \kappa _\gamma \) are also obtained.  相似文献

The properties of the low-lying energy states for the 100Mo isotope is investigated within the framework of the proton-neutron interacting model IBM2.By considering the relative energy of the d proton boson to be diferent from that of the neutron boson and taking into account the dipole interacting among like-boson LπLπand LνLν,the low-lying energy spectrum is reproduced well.Particularly, the relative position of the energies for 2+1,0+2,2+2 and 4+1states shifted correctly fit the experimental data. The electromagnetic properties, including the key observable B(E2)reduced transition branching ratios and the E2 reduced matrix elements of the experimental data, are well described. Our calculations show possible shape coexistence in the 100Mo nucleus.  相似文献

The decay B s μ + μ ? is one of the milestones of the flavor program at the LHC. We reappraise its Standard Model prediction. First, by analyzing the theoretical rate in the light of its main parametric dependence, we highlight the importance of a complete evaluation of higher-order electroweak corrections, at present known only in the large-m t limit, and leaving sizable dependence on the definition of electroweak parameters. Using insights from a complete calculation of such corrections for $K\to\pi\nu\bar{\nu}We present O(?? s ) results on the decays of polarized W ± and Z bosons into massive quark pairs. The NLO QCD corrections to the polarized decay functions are given up to the second order in the quark mass expansion. We find a surprisingly strong dependence of the NLO polarized decay functions on finite quark mass effects even at the relatively large mass scale of the W ± and Z bosons. As a main application we consider the decay t??b+W + involving the helicity fractions ?? mm of the W + boson followed by the polarized decay $W^{+}(\uparrow)\to q_{1}\bar{q}_{2}$ for which we determine the O(?? s ) polar angle decay distribution. We also discuss NLO polarization effects in the production/decay process $e^{+}e^{-}\to Z(\uparrow)\to q\bar{q}$ .  相似文献

The influence of a strongly magnetized dense plasma on the photon-neutrino processes γe ±e ±ν\(\bar \nu \), γ → ν\(\bar \nu \), and γγ → ν\(\bar \nu \) is considered; invariant amplitudes of the γe ±e ±ν\(\bar \nu \) and γγ → ν\(\bar \nu \) reactions are calculated. The contributions from these processes to the neutrino luminosity are calculated in the special case of a cold plasma. Under these conditions, the contribution from the process γ → ν\(\bar \nu \) to the neutrino emissivity is shown to be strongly suppressed compared to the contributions from the photoneutrino and photon conversion processes. Since the neutron star cooling curve can be modified through a change of the neutrino luminosity in a strong magnetic field, the magnetic field strength in the outer crust of the magnetar is assumed to be constrained.  相似文献

It was shown that the contribution of diagrams with electron-positron vacuum excitation in a strong magnetic field B ? B 0 = m 2/e = 4.41 × 1013 G in the Compton mechanism of axion production γeae at temperatures on the order of the axion mass exceeds the contribution of the “simple” Compton diagram and the contribution of the neutrino production γe → (ν\(\bar \nu \))e to the radiation power by many orders of magnitude. The conclusion is made on the probable axionic nature of the cold hidden mass of the Universe.  相似文献

Results of study of the $K^ - \to \pi ^0 e^ - \overline \nu \gamma $ decay at the ISTRA+ setup are presented. We observed 4476 events of this decay. The branching ratio is found to be $R = \frac{{Br(K^ - \to \pi ^0 e^ - \overline \nu _e \gamma )}}{{Br(K^ - \to \pi ^0 e^ - \overline \nu _e )}}$ = (1.81±0.03(stat.)±0.07(syst.)) × 10?2 for E*γ > 10 MeV and θ* > 10°. For comparison with the previous experiment the branching ratio with cuts E*γ > 10 MeV, 0.6 < cos θ* < 0.9 is calculated: R = $\frac{{Br(K^ - \to \pi ^0 e^ - \overline \nu _e \gamma )}}{{Br(K^ - \to \pi ^0 e^ - \overline \nu _e )}}$ = (0.47±0.02(stat.) ± 0.03(syst.)) × 10?2. For the cuts E*γ > 30 MeV and θ* > 20°, used in most theoretical papers, Br = (3.06 ± 0.09(stat.) ± 0.14(syst.)) × 10?4. For the asymmetry we get A ξ = ?0.015 ± 0.021. At present it is the best estimate of this asymmetry.  相似文献

The branching ratios of \(p\bar p\) annihilations into the neutral final states 2π0, π0γ, and 2γ are measured by stopping antiprotons in liquid hydrogen. They are \(B_{2\pi ^0 } = \left( {2.06 \pm 0.14} \right) \times 10^{ - 4} \) , \(B_{\pi ^0 \gamma } = \left( {1.74 \pm 0.22} \right) \times 10^{ - 5} \) , andB γγ<1.7×10?6 (95% c.l.).  相似文献

It is supposed that the effective Lagrangian of interaction of a magnetic field with a neutrino can be written in the form $$L_{eff} = \frac{{G_{\mathbf{\gamma }} }}{{m_W^2 }} \frac{{\partial ^2 A^\mu }}{{\partial x^v \partial x_v }}[\bar \Psi _v {\mathbf{\gamma }}_\mu (1 + {\mathbf{\gamma }}^5 )\Psi _v ].$$ Formulas are obtained for the emission of neutrinos by alternating fields. In particular, neutrino synchrotron emission and neutrino emission in the case of collision of two classical charges are considered. Arguments are presented that this mechanism can make a contribution to the neutrino luminosity of stars.  相似文献

We consider the exclusive \(p - \bar p\) decays of the quarkoniumP-states. Due to the helicity conservation of massless QCD the \(p - \bar p\) mode is forbidden in this limit for the1 P 1 and the3 P 0 states. The angular distributions for the decays of the remaining states in the cascade \(^3 S\prime _1 \to \gamma ^3 P_J \to \gamma p\bar p\) are specific to QCD and can serve as a test of the theory. The same is true of the formation process \(p\bar p \to ^3 P_J \to ^3 S_1 \gamma \) . In lowest order QCD we obtain overall branching ratios for charmonium of the order of 10?4.  相似文献

Resonant relaxation of the dislocation structure under the action of crossed magnetic fields, i.e., constant magnetic field of the Earth (B Earth) and alternating radio-frequency field ( $\tilde B$ ), has been experimentally studied in a series of dielectric (NaCl) crystals with various compositions of impurities under variations in the frequency, direction of the pumping field $\tilde B$ , and orientation of the samples in the Earth’s magnetic field. The frequency dependence of the dislocation path length l(ν) exhibits peaks with various heights (l max) and resonant frequencies (νres). The maximum resonant effect has been observed for dislocations with the direction L orthogonal to the plane of crossed magnetic fields in a configuration of mutually perpendicular vectors {L, $\tilde B$ , B Earth} belonging, together with sample edges {a, b, c}, to the 〈100〉 system. Variation of the concentration C of calcium impurity in crystals of the NaClCa series only influenced the resonant peak height as $l_{\max } \propto 1/\sqrt C $ . Rotation of the magnetic field $\tilde B$ in the (b, c) plane from direction $\tilde B$ B Earth to $\tilde B$ B Earth also did not influence the frequency of the resonance but changed its amplitude. Depending on the crystal type, this influence changed from rather insignificant (in crystals of the NaClLOMO series) to complete suppression of the effect for $\tilde B$ B Earth (in the NaClNik series). The resonant frequency νres is sensitive to orientation of the sample with respect to B Earth. Upon rotation of the crystal by the angle θ = ∠(c, B Earth) about the aB Earth edge, the initial peak for dislocations La at the crystal orientation θ = 0 and the frequency ν res 0 is replaced by a pair of peaks at frequencies ν1, 2 ≈ ν res 0 cosθ1, 2, where θ1 = 90° ? θ and θ2 = θ. Previously, these peaks were observed separately in NaClNik crystals for $\tilde B$ c and $\tilde B$ b. In the present study, these peaks have been observed simultaneously for both orientations of $\tilde B$ in NaClLOMO and NaClCa crystals, where the resonance is not completely suppressed for $\tilde B$ B Earth.  相似文献

Corrections to the neutrino magnetic dipole moment from the singly charged Higgs bosons h (±) and $\tilde \delta ^{\left( \pm \right)}$ were calculated within the left-right symmetric model involving Majorana neutrinos. It is shown that, if the h (±) and $\tilde \delta ^{\left( \pm \right)}$ bosons lie at the electroweak scale, the contributions from Higgs sector are commensurate with the contribution of charged gauge bosons or may even exceed it. The behavior of the neutrino flux inmatter and in amagnetic field was studied. It was found that resonance transitions between light and heavy neutrinos are forbidden.  相似文献

Active deformation of LiF crystals in a dc magnetic field B is shown to produce strong plasticization, which is the more pronounced, the higher is the magnetic induction B and the lower the strain rate $\dot \varepsilon $ . The measured dependences of the yield point σ y on B and $\dot \varepsilon $ find a reasonable explanation within a simple kinetic model based on the competition between the thermally activated and magnetically stimulated unpinning of dislocations from impurity centers.  相似文献

Resonant dislocation motions in NaCl(Ca) crystals under the simultaneous action of the Earth’s magnetic field B Earth (~66 μT) and a pulsed pump field $\tilde B$ of sufficient amplitude $\tilde B_m $ and certain duration τ have been detected and studied. The measured dislocation path peaks l(τ) have a maximum at τ = τ r ≈ 0.53 μs. The resonance criterion has been found to be the ordinary EPR condition in which the g-factor is close to 2 and the optimum inverse pulse duration τ r ?1 is used instead of the harmonic pump field frequency ν r . The largest peak l(τ) height is reached at mutually orthogonal dislocation (L) and magnetic field (B Earth and $\tilde B$ ) orientations. Pulsed field rotation to the position $\tilde B$ B Earth significantly decreases but does not “kill” the effect. For dislocations parallel to the Earth’s field (LB Earth), the resonance almost disappears even at $\tilde B$ B Earth. In the optimum geometry of experiments, as the pump field amplitude $\tilde B_m $ decreases from 17.6 to 10 μT, the path peak height l r = l r ) decreases only by 7.5%, remaining at the level of l r ~ 102 μm, and at a $\tilde B_m $ further fall-off to 4 μT, it rapidly decreases to background values. In this case, the relative density of mobile dislocations similarly decreases from ~90 to 40%. Possible physical mechanisms of the observed effect have been discussed.  相似文献
