This letter reports the results of the measurement of single photon production in the reaction e+e → γ+ invisible particles at centre-of-mass energies and 136 GeV and an integrated luminosity of 5.83 pb−1, collected with the DELPHI detector at LEP. The signal is compatible with the prediction of the Standard Model for the process , and the number of neutrino families has been determined to be Nν = 3.1 ± 0.6. Limits have been derived on anomalous neutral gauge boson couplings and on compositeness in the framework of a specific model.  相似文献

In a data sample of four million hadronic Z decays collected with the ALEPH detector at LEP, four Λb baryon candidates are exclusively reconstructed in the Λb → Λc+π channel, with the Λc+ decaying into pKπ+, , or Λπ+π+π. The probability of the observed signal to be due to a background fluctuation is estimated to be 4.2 × 10−4. The mass of the Λb is measured to be 5614±21 (stat.) ± 4 (syst.) MeV/c2.  相似文献

A partial-wave analysis of the reaction πpηηπp at 18 GeV/c has been performed on a data sample of approximately 4000 events obtained by Brookhaven experiment E852. The JPC=0−+π(1800) state is observed in the a0(980)η and f0(1500)π decay modes. It has a mass of 1876±18±16 MeV/c2 and a width of 221±26±38 MeV/c2. The JPC=2−+π2(1880) meson is observed decaying through a2(1320)η. It has a mass of 1929±24±18 MeV/c2 and a width of 323±87±43 MeV/c2. Both states are potential candidates for non-exotic hybrid mesons.  相似文献

Diatomic silicon sulfide molecules have been produced in the chemiluminescent reaction of silicon atoms with OCS. Spectra of the resulting flame consist mainly of two new band systems in the region 350–400 and 385–600 nm. These systems have been assigned as b 3Πr-X 1Σ+ and a 3Σ+-X 1Σ+ on the basis of band structure, spin-orbit splitting, molecular constants, and comparison with chemiluminescent spectra of isovalent molecules. Vibrational assignments were made with the help of the isotope effect and vibrational constants were obtained. Rotational structure was observed in some a-X bands and a partial analysis yielded an approximate rotational constant, B 0.247 ± 0.007 cm−1, for the a 3Σ+ state. Franck-Condon factors, calculated for the a-X system, are shown to fit the general trend of the intensity distribution. Irregularities in spin-orbit splitting and in relative intensities of the spin-orbit components of the b 3Π-X 1Σ+ system were observed and an attempt is made to explain them in terms of interactions with neighboring states. Addition of active nitrogen to the flame was shown to greatly increase the intensity of the b-X system relative to the a-X system. Constants (in cm−1) obtained for the new state are: a3σ+: Te=24 582.1 ± 1.3, ωe=503.8±1.0, ωexe=1.86±0.21b3σ+: Te=27 314.5 ± 2.2, ωe=619.4±2.0, ωexe=5.75±0.52b3σ+: Te=27 407.9 ± 1.1, ωe=524.3±1.2, ωexe=3.97±0.28  相似文献

We have measured the cross section σ(e+eπ+πγ(γ)) at DAΦNE, the Frascati -factory, using events with initial state radiation photons emitted at small angle and inclusive of final state radiation. We present the analysis of a new data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 240 pb−1. We have achieved a reduced systematic uncertainty with respect to previously published KLOE results. From the cross section we obtain the pion form factor and the contribution to the muon magnetic anomaly from two-pion states in the mass range 0.592<Mππ<0.975 GeV. For the latter we find Δππaμ=(387.2±0.5stat±2.4exp±2.3th)×10−10.  相似文献

We report on the observation of 1 3PJb) production in the reaction ′→γχb→γγ→γγ(e+e or μ+μ). The data were recorded with the nonmagnetic CUSB detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, CESR. We observe 124 γγ events with either an electron or muon pair in the final state. In the γγ correlation plot about 40% of the events cluster around (120, 430) MeV.  相似文献

An analysis of data on is presented at beam momenta 600 to 1940 MeV/c. There is evidence for an I=1, JPC=2−+ resonance in ηηπ0 with mass M=1880±20 MeV and width 255±45 MeV, decaying strongly to a2(1320)η; it is too strong to be explained as the high mass tail of π2(1670)→a2(1320)η. There is tentative evidence also for weak decays to f0(1500)π. It makes a natural partner to the η2(1860).  相似文献

Rotational analyses have been performed on the emission spectra of the 0-0, 1-1, 2-2, and 3-3 bands of the β system (c1Φ - a1Δ) of the TiO molecule, excited in a microwave discharge through a mixture of helium, oxygen and TiCl4 vapor. Rotational constants were obtained for all the bands from which the following equilibrium constants were derived. Be=0.52301±0.00008 cm, αe=0.00313±0.0006 cm, re=1.6391±0.0001 AHigher order constants, Dv and Hv, were calculated for the various vibrational levels.  相似文献

A search for νμ → νe oscillations has been conducted at the Los Alamos Meson Physics Facility (LAMPF) using νμ from π+ decay in flight. An excess in the number of beam-related events from the νe Ce X inclusive reaction is observed. The excess is too large to be explained by normal νe contamination in the beam at a confidence level greater than 99%. If interpreted as an oscillation signal, the observed oscillation probability of (2.6 ± 1.3 ± 0.5) × 10−3 is consistent with the previously reported oscillation evidence from LSND.  相似文献

The neutrino experiment KARMEN is situated at the beam stop neutrino source ISIS which provides νμ's, νe's and from the π+−μ+-decay at rest. The oscillation channels νμ → νe and are investigated with a 56 t liquid scintillation calorimeter. No evidence for oscillations could be found with KARMEN, resulting in 90% CL exclusion limits of sin2(2Θ) < 8.5 · 10−3 ( ) and sin2(2Θ) < 4.0 · 10−2μ → νe) for Δm2 > 100 eV2. In 1996, the experiment has been upgraded by an additional veto counting system with a total coverage of 300 m2. The new system allows the identification of cosmic muons in the vicinity of the detector. Vetoing these muons suppresses energetic neutrons from deep inelastic scattering of muons as well as from μ-capture by a factor of 40. Up to 1996, these neutrons represented the main background for oscillation search. The experimental sensitivity for will be significantly enhanced towards sin2(2Θ) 1.0 · 10−3 after a further measuring period of 2–3 years.  相似文献

It is shown that in the π+π meson mass-spectrum in the reaction e+e → π+ππ0 at 2E > 1 GeV one should expect the anomalously large effect of the -ω interference. It can be used as a tool for the elucidation of the details of the e+eVπ reaction dynamics and as the additional possibility for the determination of the electromagnetic -ω mixing parameters.  相似文献

The Na2(3sσg)(4sσg) 23Σ+g state of Na2 has been observed and studied by cw perturbation-facilitated optical-optical double-resonance (PFOODR) spectroscopy for the first time. A single-mode dye laser and a Ti-sapphire laser served as the pump and the probe lasers, respectively. A total of 543 PFOODR excitation signals have been assigned to the 23Σ+gb3Π1u transitions. Absolute vibrational numbering was determined by counting nodes in the 23Σ+ga3Σ+u bound-free spectra. Spectroscopic constants and the corresponding RKR potential energy curve are presented in this vsork. The values of Te, Re, and De, are found to be 25 551.237(49) cm−1, 3.53463(35) Å, and 6211.5(1) cm−1 respectively.  相似文献

The neutrino experiment sets the most stringent exclusion limits for μe oscillations. Analyzing the data set recorded from Feb.1997 up to March 2000 with the upgraded experimental configuration, the search of e appearance via the p( e, e+)n reaction yields no hints for neutrino oscillations. Applying a likelihood method to the measured event sample of 11 events (background expectation 12.3 events), we deduce an upper limit of sin2 (2Θ) < 1.3 · 10−3 for large Δm2 > 100 eV2 and Δm2 < 0.049 eV2 for sin2 (2Θ)=1.  相似文献

A study of low-lying states in the self-conjugate nucleus 48Cr has been performed with the reaction 40Ca(10B, pnγ)48Cr. Several techniques of γ-ray spectroscopy have been used: activity measurements, γ-ray angular distributions, γ-γ coincidences, p-n-γ triple coincidences, and recoil-distance lifetime measurements. The following level energies, spin-parity assignments, and lifetimes have been found: 752.4±0.5 keV, 21+, τm = 9.7±2.6 ps; 1858.7±0.7 keV, 41+, τm = 1.5−0.5+2.0 ps; 3532.7±1.2 keV, (61+); 4064.3±1.3 keV, ( 4), τm < 60 ps. The 21+ state in 48Cr is found to have the lowest excitation energy and highest E2 transition strength (33±9 W.u.) among the 21+ states of even nuclei in the 1f shell.  相似文献

PHENIX has measured the electron–positron pair mass spectrum from 0 to 8 GeV/c2 in p+p collisions at . The contributions from light meson decays to e+e pairs have been determined based on measurements of hadron production cross sections by PHENIX. Within the systematic uncertainty of 20% they account for all e+e pairs in the mass region below 1 GeV/c2. The e+e pair yield remaining after subtracting these contributions is dominated by semileptonic decays of charmed hadrons correlated through flavor conservation. Using the spectral shape predicted by PYTHIA, we estimate the charm production cross section to be 544±39(stat)±142(syst)±200(model) μb, which is consistent with QCD calculations and measurements of single leptons by PHENIX.  相似文献

The infrared spectrum of yttrium monoiodide has been excited in an electrodeless microwave discharge and explored between 2500 and 12 000cm−1 with a high-resolution Fourier transform spectrometer. A unique system is observed (ν00 = 9905.520 cm−1), which we attribute to a 1Π → 1Σ transition and an extensive analysis is made. Rovibrational constants are obtained for both states mainly from a simultaneous multiband fitting. This procedure is applied to the whole set of 2231 observed line wavenumbers in the 1-0, 0-0, and 0–1 bands, yielding a final weighted standard deviation of 0.0038 cm−1. Furthermore, a partial analysis of the 2-0 and 3-1 bands is performed. The following equilibrium constants are derived (cm−1): ω′e=192.210 ω′exe=0.463Be=0.0399133 α′e=0.0001150ω″e=215.815 ω″exe=0.514Be=0.0422163 α″e=0.0001125 High-order constants Dv and Hv are also calculated for the various vibrational levels (v′ = 0, 1, 2, 3; v″ = 0, 1).  相似文献

In the experiments on 74Ge(d, pγ)75Ge, a 52.5±0.1 keV γ-ray was found in 75Ge with a half-life of 216±5 ns. From the analysis of the γ-ray spectra the conversion coefficient of the 52.5 keV γ-ray was determined. Then, a new level of is confirmed to exist at 192.5 keV. The reduced transition probabilities of the 52.5 keV transition are deduced to be (6.9+5.6 −2.1) × 10−5 for B(M1) and 31+3 −2 for B(E2) in Weisskopf units.  相似文献

Yb3+-doped ceramic strontium cerate of exactly the composition SrCe0.95Yb0.05O3 − α was prepared, having a relative density of 99.0 (± 0.3%). Great care was taken to obtain homogeneous, carbonate free material. Analysis are made of the X-ray powder diffraction pattern of the as-prepared dense ceramic, resulting in the orthorhombic unit cell parameters a = 6.997(2) Å, b = 12.296(3) Å, c = 8.588(2) Å, Z = 8 and dx = 5.806(2) g cm−3. Bending strength values of the ceramic in non-proton and proton conducting state are found to be 177 and 194 MPa respectively. The ceramic kept under proton conducting conditions for 500 h at 300 °C to 800 °C in a N2 flow containing 155 mbar water vapour and 245 mbar H2, have shown to remain chemically and structurally stable. Impedance spectroscopy measurements of the bulk conductivity of the proton conducting ceramic revealed an activation energy of 53.2 kJ mol−1 and a preexponential factor of 359.1 (Ω cm)−1 K. In the non-proton conducting state the ceramic is mainly oxygen ion vacancy conducting, which indicates that charge compensation on substituting Yb+3 in SrCeO3 takes place by oxygen ion vacancies.  相似文献
