Every homology or cohomology theory on a category of E ring spectra is Topological André–Quillen homology or cohomology with appropriate coefficients. Analogous results hold more generally for categories of algebras over operads.Mathematics Subject Classification (2000): 55P43, 55P48, 55U35The second author was supported in part by NSF grant DMS-0203980.  相似文献

We develop a simple theory of André-Quillen cohomology for commutative differential graded algebras over a field of characteristic zero. We then relate it to the homotopy groups of function spaces and spaces of homotopy self-equivalences of rational nilpotent CW-complexes. This puts certain results of Sullivan in a more conceptual framework.  相似文献

We extend the bar–cobar adjunction to operads and properads, not necessarily augmented. Due to the default of augmentation, the objects of the dual category are endowed with a curvature. As usual, the bar–cobar construction gives a cofibrant resolution for any properad. Applied to the properad encoding unital and counital Frobenius algebras, notion which appears in 2d-TQFT, it defines the associated notion up to homotopy. We further define a curved Koszul duality theory for operads or properads presented with quadratic, linear and constant relations. This provides smaller resolutions. We apply this new theory to study the homotopy theory and the cohomology theory of unital associative algebras.  相似文献

In this paper we generalize the plus-construction given by M. Livernet for algebras over rational differential graded operads to the framework of cofibrant operads over an arbitrary ring (the category of algebras over such operads admits a closed model category structure). We follow the modern approach of J. Berrick and C. Casacuberta defining topological plus-construction as a nullification with respect to a universal acyclic space. We construct a universalH *Q-acyclic algebra and we define A A+ as the -nullification of the algebra A. This map induces an isomorphism in Quillen homology and quotients out the maximal perfect ideal of 0(A). As an application, we consider for any associative algebra R the plus-constructions of gl(R) in the categories of homotopy Lie and homotopy Leibniz algebras. This gives rise to two new homology theories for associative algebras, namely homotopy cyclic and homotopy Hochschild homologies. Over the rationals these theories coincide with the classical cyclic and Hochschild homologies.Primary: 19D06, 19D55; Secondary: 18D50, 18G55, 55P60, 55U35Received March 2003  相似文献

We show how topological André-Quillen homology can be related to the usual algebraic André-Quillen homology. To this end we construct an Atiyah-Hirzebruch spectral sequence starting with the algebraic version and converging to the topological theory. This determines topological André-Quillen homology in classical cases of étale and smooth algebras.  相似文献

We show that there is a stable homotopy theory of profinite spaces and use it for two main applications. On the one hand we construct an étale topological realization of the stable A1-homotopy theory of smooth schemes over a base field of arbitrary characteristic in analogy to the complex realization functor for fields of characteristic zero.On the other hand we get a natural setting for étale cohomology theories. In particular, we define and discuss an étale topological cobordism theory for schemes. It is equipped with an Atiyah-Hirzebruch spectral sequence starting from étale cohomology. Finally, we construct maps from algebraic to étale cobordism and discuss algebraic cobordism with finite coefficients over an algebraically closed field after inverting a Bott element.  相似文献

We compute the André–Quillen (or Harrison) cohomology of an affine toric variety. The best results are obtained either in the general case for the first three cohomology groups, or in the case of isolated singularities for all cohomology groups, respectively.  相似文献

We give sufficient conditions for the existence of a model structure on operads in an arbitrary symmetric monoidal model category. General invariance properties for homotopy algebras over operads are deduced.  相似文献

We define a plus-construction on connective augmented algebras over operads in symmetric spectra using Quillen homology. For associative and commutative algebras, we show that this plus-construction is related to both Bousfield localization and Carlsson’s derived completion.  相似文献

We develop a framework for derived deformation theory, valid in all characteristics. This gives a model category reconciling local and global approaches to derived moduli theory. In characteristic 0, we use this to show that the homotopy categories of DGLAs and SHLAs (L-algebras) considered by Kontsevich, Hinich and Manetti are equivalent, and are compatible with the derived stacks of Toën-Vezzosi and Lurie. Another application is that the cohomology groups associated to any classical deformation problem (in any characteristic) admit the same operations as André-Quillen cohomology.  相似文献

We give a Quillen equivalence between model structures for simplicial operads, described via the theory of operads, and Segal operads, thought of as certain reduced dendroidal spaces. We then extend this result to give a Quillen equivalence between the model structures for simplicial operads equipped with a group action and the corresponding Segal operads.  相似文献

We show that the André-Quillen cohomology of an E simplicial algebra with arbitrary coefficients and the topological André-Quillen cohomology of an E ring spectrum with Eilenberg-Mac Lane coefficients may be calculated as the André-Quillen cohomology of an associated E differential graded algebra.  相似文献

It is known that elements in the cohomology of groups and in the Hochschild cohomology of algebras are represented by crossed extensions. We introduce the notion of crossed modules and crossed extensions for algebras over operads and obtain in this way an operadic version of Hochschild cohomology. Applications are given for the operads Com, Ass and for E operads.  相似文献

We review several well-known operads of compactified configuration spaces and construct several new such operads, [`(C)]\bar C, in the category of smooth manifolds with corners whose complexes of fundamental chains give us (i) the 2-coloured operad of A -algebras and their homotopy morphisms, (ii) the 2-coloured operad of L -algebras and their homotopy morphisms, and (iii) the 4-coloured operad of openclosed homotopy algebras and their homotopy morphisms. Two gadgets — a (coloured) operad of Feynman graphs and a de Rham field theory on [`(C)]\bar C — are introduced and used to construct quantized representations of the (fundamental) chain operad of [`(C)]\bar C which are given by Feynman type sums over graphs and depend on choices of propagators.  相似文献

For every closed model category with zero object, Quillen gave the construction of Eckman-Hilton and Puppe sequences. In this paper, we remove the hypothesis of the existence of zero object and construct (using the category over the initial object or the category under the final object) these sequences for unpointed model categories. We illustrate the power of this result in abstract homotopy theory given some interesting applications to group cohomology and exterior homotopy groups.  相似文献

We show that varieties of algebras over abstract clones and over the corresponding operads are rationally equivalent. We introduce the class of operads (which we call commutative for definiteness) such that the varieties of algebras over these operads resemble in a sense categories of modules over commutative rings. In particular, the notions of a polylinear mapping and the tensor product of algebras. The categories of modules over commutative rings and the category of convexors are examples of varieties over commutative operads. By analogy with the theory of linear multioperator algebras, we develop a theory of C-linear multioperator algebras; in particular, of algebras, defined by C-polylinear identities (here C is a commutative operad). We introduce and study symmetric C-linear operads. The main result of this article is as follows: A variety of C-linear multioperator algebras is defined by C-polylinear identities if and only if it is rationally equivalent to a variety of algebras over a symmetric C-linear operad.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate multiplicative properties of the classical Dold-Kan correspondence. The inverse of the normalization functor maps commutative differential graded algebras to E-algebras. We prove that it in fact sends algebras over arbitrary differential graded E-operads to E-algebras in simplicial modules and is part of a Quillen adjunction. More generally, this inverse maps homotopy algebras to weak homotopy algebras. We prove the corresponding dual results for algebras under the conormalization, and for coalgebra structures under the normalization resp. the inverse of the conormalization.  相似文献

We use techniques from homotopy theory, in particular the connection between configuration spaces and iterated loop spaces, to give geometric explanations of stability results for the cohomology of the varieties of regular semisimple elements in the simple complex Lie algebras of classical type A, B or C, as well as in the group . We show that the cohomology spaces of stable versions of these varieties have an algebraic stucture, which identifies them as “free Poisson algebras” with suitable degree shifts. Using this, we are able to give explicit formulae for the corresponding Poincaré series, which lead to power series identities by comparison with earlier work. The cases of type B and C involve ideas from equivariant homotopy theory. Our results may be interpreted in terms of the actions of a Weyl group on its coinvariant algebra (i.e. the coordinate ring of the affine space on which it acts, modulo the invariants of positive degree; this space coincides with the cohomology ring of the flag variety of the associated Lie group) and on the cohomology of its associated complex discriminant variety. In this paper we apply a recently developed new version of the Bredon-Illman cohomology theory to obtain an equivariant analogue of a result of Kan and Thurston, which implies that a connected CW-complex has the homotopy type of a space obtained by applying the plus construction of Quillen to certain Eilenberg-MacLane spaces.

We construct a non-commutative rational homotopy theory by replacing the pair (Lie algebras, commutative algebras) by the pair (Leibniz algebras, Leibniz-dual algebras). Both pairs are Koszul dual in the sense of operads (Ginzburg–Kapranov). We prove the existence of minimal models and the Hurewicz theorem in this framework. We define Leibniz spheres and prove that their homotopy is periodic. Received: 19 September 1997 / Revised version: 23 February 1998  相似文献
