A boundary analog of the Forelli theorem for real-analytic functions is established, i.e., it is demonstrated that each real-analytic function f defined on the boundary of a bounded strictly convex domain D in the multidimensional complex space with the one-dimensional holomorphic extension property along families of complex lines passing through a boundary point and intersecting D admits a holomorphic extension to D as a function of many complex variables.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the Cauchy problem as a typical example of ill-posed boundary-value problems. We obtain the necessary and (separately) sufficient conditions for the solvability of the Cauchy problem for a Dirac operator A in Sobolev spaces in a bounded domain D ? ? n with a piecewise smooth boundary. Namely, we reduce the Cauchy problem for the Dirac operator to the problem of harmonic extension from a smaller domain to a larger one. Moreover, along with the solvability conditions for the problem, using bases with double orthogonality, we construct a Carleman formula for recovering a function u in a Sobolev space H s (D), s ∈ ?, from its values on Γ and values Au in D, where Γ is an open connected subset of the boundary ?D. It is worth pointing out that we impose no assumptions about geometric properties of the domain D, except for its connectedness.  相似文献

We consider the boundary value problem Δu+up=0 in a bounded, smooth domain Ω in R2 with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition and p a large exponent. We find topological conditions on Ω which ensure the existence of a positive solution up concentrating at exactly m points as p→∞. In this paper, we study the eventual periodicity of the initial boundary value problem (IBVP) for Korteweg-de Vries equation posed on a bounded domain. We show that if the boundary forcing is periodic of period τ, then the solution u of the IBVP at each spatial point becomes eventually time-periodic of period τ. In order to exhibit eventual periodicity, we approximate the solution of the IBVP using the Adomian decomposition method. We compare our work with the approximate solution of IBVP obtained by the homotopy perturbation method and present numerical experiments using Mathematica.  相似文献

Given an open bounded connected subset Ω of ℝn, we consider the overdetermined boundary value problem obtained by adding both zero Dirichlet and constant Neumann boundary data to the elliptic equation −div(A(|∇u|)∇u)=1 in Ω. We prove that, if this problem admits a solution in a suitable weak sense, then Ω is a ball. This is obtained under fairly general assumptions on Ω and A. In particular, A may be degenerate and no growth condition is required. Our method of proof is quite simple. It relies on a maximum principle for a suitable P-function, combined with some geometric arguments involving the mean curvature of ∂Ω.  相似文献

Let M be a Riemannian manifold such that its geodesic spheres centered at a point aM are isoperimetric and the distance function dist(⋅,a) is isoparametric, and let ΩM be a bounded domain. We prove that if there exists a lower bounded nonconstant function u which is p-harmonic (1<p?n) in the punctured domain Ω?{a} such that both u and are constant on ∂Ω, then u is radial and ∂Ω is a geodesic sphere. The proof hinges on a combination of maximum principles, isoparametricity and the isoperimetric inequality.  相似文献

We prove that homologically nontrivial generic smooth (2n−1)-parameter families of analytic discs in Cn, n?2, attached by their boundaries to a CR-manifold Ω, test CR-functions in the following sense: if a smooth function on Ω analytically extends into any analytic discs from the family, then the function satisfies tangential CR-equations on Ω. In particular, we give an answer (Theorem 1) to the following long standing open question, so called strip-problem, earlier solved only for special families (mainly for circles): given a smooth one-parameter family of Jordan curves in the plane and a function f admitting holomorphic extension inside each curve, must f be holomorphic on the union of the curves? We prove, for real-analytic functions and arbitrary generic real-analytic families of curves, that the answer is “yes,” if no point is surrounded by all curves from the family. The latter condition is essential. We generalize this result to characterization of complex curves in C2 as real 2-manifolds admitting nontrivial families of attached analytic discs (Theorem 4). The main result implies fairly general Morera type characterization of CR-functions on hypersurfaces in C2 in terms of holomorphic extensions into three-parameter families of attached analytic discs (Theorem 2). One of the applications is confirming, in real-analytic category, the Globevnik-Stout conjecture (Theorem 3) on boundary values of holomorphic functions. It is proved that a smooth function on the boundary of a smooth strictly convex domain in Cn extends holomorphically inside the domain if it extends holomorphically into complex lines tangent to a given strictly convex subdomain. The proofs are based on a universal approach, namely, on the reduction to a problem of propagation, from the boundary to the interior, of degeneracy of CR-foliations of solid torus type manifolds (Theorem 2.2).  相似文献

The solution of the weak Neumann problem for the Laplace equation with a distribution as a boundary condition is studied on a general open set G in the Euclidean space. It is shown that the solution of the problem is the sum of a constant and the Newtonian potential corresponding to a distribution with finite energy supported on ∂G. If we look for a solution of the problem in this form we get a bounded linear operator. Under mild assumptions on G a necessary and sufficient condition for the solvability of the problem is given and the solution is constructed. Let Ω be a bounded domain with smooth boundary in R2. We construct non-constant solutions to the complex-valued Ginzburg-Landau equation ε2Δu+(1−2|u|)u=0 in Ω, as ε→0, both under zero Neumann and Dirichlet boundary conditions. We reduce the problem of finding solutions having isolated zeros (vortices) with degrees ±1 to that of finding critical points of a small C1-perturbation of the associated renormalized energy. This reduction yields general existence results for vortex solutions. In particular, for the Neumann problem, we find that if Ω is not simply connected, then for any k?1 a solution with exactly k vortices of degree one exists.  相似文献

We consider a boundary identification problem arising in nondestructive testing of materials. The problem is to recover a part ΓI⊂∂Ω of the boundary of a bounded, planar domain Ω from one Cauchy data pair (u,∂u/∂ν) of a harmonic potential u in Ω collected on an accessible boundary subset ΓA⊂∂Ω. We prove Fréchet differentiability of a suitably defined forward map, and discuss local uniqueness and Lipschitz stability results for the linearized problem.  相似文献

We investigate boundary blow-up solutions of the equation Δu=f(u) in a bounded domain ΩRN under the condition that f(t) has a relatively slow growth as t goes to infinity. In this note, we investigate the regularity of the extremal solution u? for the semilinear elliptic equation −△u+c(x)⋅∇u=λf(u) on a bounded smooth domain of Rn with Dirichlet boundary condition. Here f is a positive nondecreasing convex function, exploding at a finite value a∈(0,∞). We show that the extremal solution is regular in the low-dimensional case. We establish sharp upper bounds on the (n−1)-dimensional Hausdorff measure of the zero (nodal) sets and on the maximal order of vanishing corresponding to eigenfunctions of a regular elliptic problem on a bounded domain Ω ⊆ ℝ n with real-analytic boundary. The elliptic operator may be of an arbitrary even order, and its coefficients are assumed to be real-analytic. This extends a result of Donnelly and Fefferman ([DF1], [DF3]) concerning upper bounds for nodal volumes of eigenfunctions corresponding to the Laplacian on compact Riemannian manifolds with boundary.  相似文献

The well-known Schiffer conjecture saying that for a smooth bounded domain ΩRn, if there exists a positive Neumann eigenvalue such that the corresponding Neumann eigenfunction u is constant on the boundary of Ω, then Ω is a ball. In this paper, we shall prove that the Schiffer conjecture holds if and only if the third order interior normal derivative of the corresponding Neumann eigenfunction is constant on the boundary. We also prove a similar result to the Berenstein conjecture for the overdetermined Dirichlet eigenvalue problem.  相似文献
