Evidence for large direct CP violation in B+/- --> rho(770)0K+/- from analysis of three-body charmless B+/- --> K+/-pi+/-pi+/- decays

We report results on a Dalitz analysis of three-body charmless B+/- --> K+/-pi+/-pi+/- decay including searches for direct CP violation. We report the first observation of the decay B+/- --> f2(1270)K+/- with a statistical significance above 6sigma. We also observe first evidence for large direct CP violation in the B+/- --> rho(770)0K+/- channel. The results are obtained with a data sample that contains 386 10(6) BB pairs collected at the Y(4s) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider.     

Observation of B+/- -->omegaK+/- decay

We report the first observation of the charmless two-body mode B+/--->omegaK+/- decay, and a new measurement of the branching fraction for the B+/--->omegapi(+/-) decay. The measured branching fractions are B(B+/--->omegaK+/-)=(9.2(+2.6)(-2.3)+/-1.0)x10(-6) and B(B+/--->omegapi(+/-))=(4.2(+2.0)(-1.8)+/-0.5)x10(-6). We also measure the partial rate asymmetry of B+/--->omegaK+/- decays and obtain A(CP)=-0.21+/-0.28+/-0.03. The results are based on a data sample of 29.4 fb(-1) collected on the Upsilon(4S) resonance by the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider.     

Observation of the decay Bc+/--->J/psipi+/- and measurement of the Bc+/- mass

The Bc+/- meson is observed through the decay Bc+/--->J/psipi+/-, in data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.4 fb(-1) recorded by the Collider Detector at Fermilab II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. A signal of 108+/-15 candidates is observed, with a significance that exceeds 8sigma. The mass of the Bc+/- meson is measured to be 6275.6+/-2.9(stat)+/-2.5(syst) MeV/c2.     

Search for lepton flavor violating decays tau+/--->l+/-omega

A search for lepton flavor violating decays of a tau to a lighter-mass charged lepton and an omega vector meson is performed using 384.1 fb(-1) of e(+)e(-) annihilation data collected with the BABAR detector at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center PEP-II storage ring. No signal is found, and the upper limits on the branching ratios are determined to be B(tau(+/-)-->e;{+/-}omega)<1.1 x10 (-7) and B(tau(+/-)-->micro(+/-)omega)<1.0 x 10(-7) at 90% confidence level.     

Microwave dielectric properties of Ti4+/MgO and Ni2+/MgO

The dielectric properties of titanium-doped magnesium oxide (Ti/MgO) and nickel-doped magnesium oxide (Ni/MgO) single crystals have been measured in the range of temperature from 300 to 450 K at the microwave frequency of 9.31 GHz. For both crystals the dielectric properties are found similar. From the conductivity data, the activation energy in the measured temperature region has been estimated to be 0.15 eV. The values of the temperature dependence (–1)^–1(+2)^–1 (/T) _p have been calculated. The data confirms the Bosmann and Havinga postulate that, for materials in which the dielectric constant; is less than 20 the temperature dependence should be positive.     

Steric effect in O+/H2 and H+/H2O collisions

The positive water and hydronium ions are of interest in a variety of chemical and biological applications. Here we study the steric effect in charge transfer collisions, i.e. the spatial dependence of single electron capture, in collisions mediated by these ions. In particular, the steric effect is demonstrated in the O⁺(²D)/H₂ and H⁺/H₂O charge transfer collisions in the energy range of 100 eV/amu to 10 keV/amu.     

Er~(3+)/Eu~(3+)及Yb~(3+)/Er~(3+)/Eu~(3+)共掺杂硼硅酸盐玻璃的上转换发光分析

采用高温固相烧结法制备了Er3+/Eu3+共掺杂和Yb3+/Er3+/Eu3+共掺杂系列硼硅酸盐玻璃样品。在978 nm半导体激光器抽运下,测量了样品的光致发光谱,分析了上转换机制。结果表明:随着Er3+浓度的增加,Eu3+的595 nm光谱强度增强;Eu3+的692 nm光谱强度随Yb3+浓度增加而增强,并明显强于595 nm光谱。Er3+/Eu3+、Yb3+/Eu3+之间的能量传递和合作上转换等机制导致Eu3+离子上转换发射。     

Observation and polarization measurements of B+/- -->phiK1 +/- and B +/- -->phiK2 *+/-

With the full BABAR data sample of 465 x 10(6) B(over)B pairs, we observe the decays B+/- -->phiK_(1)(1270) +/- and B +/- -->phiK*_(2)(1430)+/-. We measure the branching fractions (6.1+/-1.6+/-1.1) x 10(-6) and (8.4+/-1.8+/-1.0) x 10(-6) and the fractions of longitudinal polarization 0.46 (+0.12+0.06) _(-0.13-0.07) and 0.80(+0.09)_(-0.10)+/-0.03, respectively. We also report on the B+/- -->phiK*_(0)(1430)+/- decay branching fraction of (7.0+/-1.3+/-0.9) x 10(-6) and several parameters sensitive to CP violation and interference in the above three decays. Upper limits are placed on the B+/- decay rates to final states with phi and K_1(1400)+/-, K*(1410)+/-, K2(1770)+/-, or K_2(1820)+/-. Understanding the observed polarization pattern requires amplitude contributions from an uncertain source.     

Search for lepton flavor violation in the decay tau+/--->e+/-gamma

A search for the nonconservation of lepton flavor in the decay tau+/--->e+/-gamma has been performed with 2.07x10(8) e+e--->tau+tau- events collected by the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP II storage ring at a center-of-mass energy near 10.58 GeV. We find no evidence for a signal and set an upper limit on the branching ratio of Beta(tau+/--->e+/-gamma)<1.1x10(-7) at 90% confidence level.     

Observation of the decay B+/--->pi+/-pi0, study of B+/--->K+/-pi0, and search for B0-->pi0pi0

We present results for the branching fractions and charge asymmetries in B+/--->h(+/-)pi(0) (where h(+/-)=pi(+/-),K+/-) and a search for the decay B0-->pi(0)pi(0) using a sample of approximately 88 x 10(6) BBmacr; pairs collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory at SLAC. We measure B(B+/--->pi(+/-)pi(0))=(5.5(+1.0)(-0.9)+/-0.6)x10(-6), where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. The B+/--->pi(+/-)pi(0) signal has a significance of 7.7sigma including systematic uncertainties. We simultaneously measure the K+/-pi(0) branching fraction to be B(B+/--->K+/-pi(0))=(12.8(+1.2)(-1.1)+/-1.0)x10(-6). The charge asymmetries are Api(+/-)(pi(0))=-0.03(+0.18)(-0.17)+/-0.02 and AK+/-(pi(0))=-0.09+/-0.09+/-0.01. We place a 90% confidence-level upper limit on the branching fraction B(B0-->pi(0)pi(0)) of 3.6 x 10(-6).
