The population of the4 P 5/2-state in Ar15+-ions by cascading processes was measured. The corrected lifetime is (0.55±0.04) ns and is in very good agreement with the theoretical value of 0.56 ns. At a specific beam energy of 1.4 MeV/u the lifetime of the3 P 2-state of Ar16+ is not influenced by cascading processes and is (1.44±0.08) ns. The energies of the3 P 21 S 0- and4 P 5/22 S 1/2-transitions are (3127.2±0.5) and (3090.0±0.7) eV, respectively.  相似文献

Besides the prompt x-ray emission of Ar-ions, the metastable decay of the heliumlike3 P 2- and the lithiumlike4 P 5/2-levels of highly ionized Ar16+ and Ar15+ atoms has been observed in a foil-excited beam using a flat-crystal spectrometer. Due to the highx-ray energy resolution of the spectrometer the two3 P 21 S 0 and4 P 5/22 S 1/2 transitions could be resolved. The experiment yielded (3128 ±2) eV for the3P2 → and (3091 ± 2)eV for the4 P 5/22 S 1/2 transition energy respectively. Using a time of flight technique the lifetimes of the3 P 2- and the4 P 5/2-states were determined to be (1.44 ±0.09)ns and (0.66 ± 0.05) ns.  相似文献

The natural lifetimes of the (3P)4s2P3/2,1/2 levels of the Ar(II) spectrum have been determined from the natural broadening of argon lines, measured with a Fabry—Pérot interferometer. The natural broadening was determined from the lines with wavelengths of 4880 and 4965 Å by comparing them with the lines at 4806 and 5009 Å having negligible natural broadening. The natural lifetime of the 4s2P3/2 level appeared to be τ = 0.19 (±6%) ns and of the 4s2P1/2 level τ = 0.18 (±15%) ns. These values are about 1.5 to 2 times as small as those determined by other authors either experimentally by using a Fabry—Pérot interferometer by the method of Ballik, or calculated using intermediate coupling.The differences between the two experimental methods are discussed.  相似文献

Ti and Cr ions at specific energies of 3.6 MeV/N and 5.0 MeV/N have been excited by passing them through thinC foils. The emission ofK-x rays andK-Auger electrons have been investigated using a flat crystal spectrometer and an electrostatic cyclindrical mirror analyzer. The lifetimes of the (1s2p)3 P 2 and (1s2s2p)4 P 5/2 states have been determined by applying the time-of-flight technique. The experimental resultsτ(Ti20+,3 P 2)=(404±40)ps,τ(Cr22+,3 P 2)=(215±35)ps,τ(Ti19+,4 P 5/2)=(236±12)ps, andτ(Cr21+,4 P 5/2)=(140±8)ps are compared with calculated lifetimes.  相似文献

The radiative lifetime of the 4s 5s (3S1) level in Ca was measured using two-step excitation of atoms in a beam which traverses a cold-cathode Penning discharge, where, by electron impact the atoms are excited to the metastable 4s 5p (3P2, 1, 0) states. Immediately thereafter, the beam is crossed with a pulse-modulated cw dye laser beam to populate the final state selectively. Using a pulse-modulation frequency of 0.5 MHz, a preliminary value of 12.4 ± 0.5 ns was obtained with a statistical error of 0.4%. The wide limits of systematic error reflect an assumed uncertainty in the excitation function and possible distortion in the fluorescence decay requiring further study.  相似文献

Associative ionization in thermal energy (300 K) collisions between Ne(2p 5 3s 3P2), Ar(3p 5 4s 3 P 2) metastable atoms and hydrogen atomsH(1s 2 S 1/2) has been studied by high resolution (20 meV) electron spectrometry. The spectra exhibit structure due to the formation of different vibrational states in the molecular ion and show superimposed rotational structure. Direct information is obtained on the relative population of the rovibronic states and on their energy positions. The well depth of the ionic potential curves has been determined as:D e (NeH + X 1 Σ +)=2.27 (3) eV,D e (ArH + X 1 Σ +)=4.02(3) eV.  相似文献

We report lifetime measurements of the 1s 2 3d 2 D, 1s 24d 2 D, and 1s 22p 2 P states of lithium. The results τ=14.5±0.7 ns, τ=31.0±1.0 ns, and τ=27.9±1.0 ns respectively were obtained by time resolved detection of the resonance fluorescence following pulsed laser excitation.  相似文献

The X-band EPR spectrum of Mn2+ in Sn2P2S6 was studied in the temperature rangeT=223–363 K. At room temperature the spin-Hamiltonian constants areg=2.00±0.01,B 2 0 =(163±3)·10?4 cm?1,B 2 2 =(159±3)·10?4 cm?1,A=?(75±1)·10?4 cm?1. The effect of the invariance in temperature of the resonance magnetic fields in the narrow temperature rangeT=337–340 K and the model of the paramagnetic centre are discussed. According to EPR data a phase transition occurs atT=337 K. This transition from the paraelectric phase to the ferroelectric one is accompanied by a dramatic change in value of the spin-Hamiltonian constantB 2 0 .  相似文献

A crossed ion-laser beam apparatus has been used to measure accurate relative total and partial cross sections for photodetachment from Rb? ions with high photon energy resolution (0.1–0.6 cm?1) in the region of the Rb(5p 2 P 1/2,3/2) thresholds (photon energy range 16,350–16,820 cm?1). Satisfactory fits to these data by multichannel quantum defect theory (MQDT) have been obtained, resulting in a reliable set of seven MQDT parameters. The electron angular distribution parameter for the Rb(5s) channel was found to beβ(5s)=2, independent of photon energy. MQDT predicts a sharp, window-type variation of?(5s) around the minimum of the 5s-cross section below the Rb(5p 2 P 1/2) threshold (where an accurate experimental measurement ofβ(5s) was not possible) and a similar behaviour ofβ(6s) in the case of Cs?photodetachment below the Cs(6p 2 P 1/2) threshold.  相似文献

The delayed fluorescence of the soft X-ray (1s-2p) transition was observed for H-like ions (O7+ and F8+) between 1.3 ns and 20 ns decay time after beam-foil excitation. The delayed X-ray fluorescence was found to decay with at Δ power law time dependence. The non-exponential decay is attributed to cascading through higher lying states. We found thatΔ 0=1.40±0.08 andΔ F =1.44±0.02 for H-like oxygen and fluorine, respectively. Present results are in fair agreement with the previously reported exponent,Δ 0=1.5, measured over 3 ns after excitation.  相似文献

The lifetime of the 2p 10(3 S 1) level in the NeI 2p 53p configuration has been measured by means of the cascade-free two-step excitation technique of beam-gas-dye laser spectroscopy. The lifetime determined is τ=(25.43±0.09) ns, where the uncertainty quoted corresponds to one standard deviation. By using the same excitation technique the absolute transition probabilities of all fine-structure transitions from 2p 10 to the four levels 1s i(i=2?5) in the 2p 53s configuration have been measured, too. The high level of experimental accuracy attained enables a comparative evaluation of the theoretical methods used in the literature to calculate the radial and angular parts of the transition integrals.  相似文献

The lifetime of the 3d 9 4s 4p 4 P 3/2 state of Cu has been determined with optical double resonance by observation of radiofrequency transitions ΔF=0, Δm F =±1 between hfs-Zeeman levels of the stable odd isotopes. The result is τ(3d 9 4s 4p 4 P 3/2, Cu)=3.18(16)·10?7 sec.  相似文献

The photoionization of the ground state of neon-like is investigated and the autoionizing spectrum of 2s22p52P1/2ns,nd and 2s2p62S1/2np Rydberg series of Ar IX are studied by using the Breit-Pauli Hamiltonian within the R-matrix theory combine with the QB method of Quigly-Berrington [L. Quigley, K.A. Berrington, J. Pelan, Comput. Phys. Commun. 144 (1998) 225]. We predict the energies and widths of four Rydberg series of Ar IX.  相似文献

It has been known for a long time that, in a two-electron arc spectrum, the properties of the3 P and1 P terms of the lowests p configuration cannot be interpreted correctly in a pure-configuration model. Following the experimental determination of the hyperfine constantA(3s 3p 1 P 1) in Mg I by Kluge and Otten, this paper presents the ab-initio interpretation of the 〈r ?33p hyperfine electronic quantities in 3s 3p through the use of the multiconfigurational Hartree-Fock method. It appears that taking into account the effects of the monoelectronic excitations 3snd, 2pnp and 3pnp leads to ab-initio evaluations in very good agreement with experiment. The case of the 3pnp excitation, to which Brillouin's theorem should apply in principle, is discussed. Using the same method, a refined evaluation is proposed for the nuclear electric-quadrupole moment of Mg25 (Q=0.200 ± 0.01 barn).  相似文献

Accurate configuration interaction wavefunctions for the 2s2(1S), 2p2(1S), 2s3s(1S) and 2s2p (1P) states of B(II) are calculated in a single optimized orbital basis of 7s, 6p and 4d Slater-type orbitals. 95, 84, 57 and 90% of the correlation energies, respectively, are realized by these wavefunctions. Oscillator strengths for the three 1S-1P transitions are calculated from these and from less accurate wavefunctions in the same orbital basis. The length values obtained from our most accurate wavefunctions, in order of increasing 1S energy, are 0.9885, 0.202 and 0.007. The degree of accuracy of these oscillator strengths is estimated by noting the convergence to final values as increasing percentages of correlation energies are included in the wavefunctions together with the increasing agreement between length and velocity formulas. The exact theoretical oscillator strength for the resonant line is projected to be 0.985 with an error almost certainly not greater than ±0.015. The theoretical oscillator strengths for the other lines are considered to be 0.21±0.02 and less than 0.007, respectively.  相似文献

The lifetime of the 2S state in (μ?4He)+ ions has been measured at He-gas pressures between 50 Torr and 6 atm (T=300 K). We observed both X-rays from the two-photon 2S→1S transitions as well as delayed Kα X-rays associated with radiative quenching. The quenching rate is strongly pressure dependent; it is predominantly a quadratic function of pressure with a measured three-body rate coefficient k=(5.9±0.8)×10?32cm6/s. At 6 atm, we find τ2S<250 ns because of the absence of two-photon transitions.  相似文献

By means of the generalized centroid-shift method, the following half-lives were determined:T 1/2(3045 keV)=3.7±0.3 ns in113Sb using the reaction104Pd(12C,p2n) as well asT 1/2 (1322.8 keV)=3.5±0.3 ns,T 1/2(2779.8 keV) =0.50±0.15ns,T 1/2(2874.9 keV)<0.2 ns andT 1/2(3072.9 keV)<0.1 ns in117Sb using the116In(α, 2n) reaction. Three-quasiparticle configurations of the type πd 5/2ν(h11/2 d 3/2) in113,117Sb are found to dominate in the wave functions of the 19/2? states at 3045 and 2780 keV in113Sb and117Sb, respectively. TheB(E2, 19/2? → 15/2?) values in113–119Sb are discussed.  相似文献

The reactionppp f +π?π0)p s , where the π+π?π0 system is centrally produced, has been studied at 300 GeV/c. The π+π?π0 mass spectrum shows evidence for the η, ω anda 2 (1320) as well as an enhancement in thea 1 (1260) region. A Dalitz plot analysis of the π+π?π0 system has been performed. Thea 1 (1260) parameters coming from the fit of the 1+ S wave arem=1208±15 MeV and Γ=430±50 MeV. No evidence is found for theh 1(1170) orh 1(1380).  相似文献

Fission fragments from the reaction237Np(μ ?,γ,f) have been measured in coincidence with muonic X-rays. The efficiency of the fission fragment detector is determined from (μ ?,γ,f)-data of the same experiment. The total fission probability perμ-stopP t has been measured as well as the fission probabilities Pf of the non-radiative muonic (3d→1s)- and (2p→1s)-transitions; the latter has been divided into two parts leading to different mean excitation energiesE:P t =(54±17)%,P f (3d→1s)=(41±21)%,P f (2p→1s,E=6.218 MeV)=(61±19)%, andP f (2p→1s,E=6.525 MeV)=(57±18)%. The influence of the muon on the fission barrier is discussed. The fission probability after muon capture is compared with a calculated value using a distribution of nuclear excitation energies following muon capture and the fission probability as measured in a238U(3He,αf)-reaction.  相似文献
