The alkaloid composition of young shoots and leaves ofBerberis heteropoda Schrenk has been studied. In addition to known alkaloids, two new ones have been isolated — N-methyldihydroberberine and 8-oxoberberrubine, the structures of which were established by chemical transformations and a study of spectral properties. Of known alkaloids, berbamunine, aromoline, glaucine, thalicmidine, isocorydine, and reticuline have been found in this plant for the first time. Conclusions The epigeal part ofScutellaria przewalskii has been shown to contain apigenin, luteolin, scutellarein, dinatin, hispidulin, pectolinarigenin; the 7-glucosides and 7-glucuronides of apigenin, luteolin, scutellarein, and dinatin; and also the 7-glucobiosides of scutellarein, dinatin, and hispidulin; and these substances have been isolated. Summary Six new diterpene glycosides — doronicosides A, B, C, D, E, and F — have been detected in the roots ofDoronicum macrophyllum Fisch. The qualitative and quantitative composition of the sugar chain of doronicoside D has been established. Water-soluble polysaccharides have been isolated from nine representatives of the Georgian flora belonging to seven families. A new N-benzylisoquinoline alkaloid — intebrine, with the composition C20H19NO7 — has been isolated fromBerberis integerrima Bunge. A phytotoxic PLPC has been isolated from the mycelium of the fungusVerticillium dahliae Kleb., strain 614. The polysaccharide component has been split out from the PLPC by mild acid hydrolysis. The polysaccharide has been fractionated and the monosaccharide compositions of the fractions have been determined.
