We extract the neutron charge form factor G n E(Q 2) from the charge form factor of deuteron G d C(Q 2) obtained from T 20(Q 2) data at 0≤Q 2≤ 1.717 (GeV/c)2. The extraction is based on the relativistic impulse approximation in the instant form of the relativistic Hamiltonian dynamics. Our results (12 new points) are compatible with existing values of the neutron charge form factor of other authors. We propose a fit for the whole set (36 points) taking into account the data for the slope of the form factor at Q 2 = 0. We study the Schwinger mechanism for gluon-pair production in the presence of an arbitrary time-dependent chromo-electric background field E a (t) with arbitrary color index a=1,2,…,8 in SU(3) by directly evaluating the path integral. We obtain an exact expression for the probability of non-perturbative gluon-pair production per unit time per unit volume and per unit transverse momentum, , from arbitrary E a (t). We show that the tadpole (or single-gluon) effective action does not contribute to the non-perturbative gluon-pair production rate, . We find that the exact result for non-perturbative gluon-pair production is independent of all the time derivatives , where n=1,2,…,∞, and that it has the same functional dependence on the two Casimir invariants, [E a (t)E a (t)] and [d abc E a (t)E b (t)E c (t)]2, as the constant chromo-electric field E a result with the replacement: E a E a (t). This result relies crucially on the validity of the shift conjecture, which has not yet been established. This result may be relevant to the study of the production of a non-perturbative quark–gluon plasma at RHIC and LHC.  相似文献

The relationship between a microscopic parameter p, that is related to the probability of choosing a mechanism of deposition, and the stochastic equation for the interface's evolution is studied for two different models. It is found that in one model, that is similar to ballistic deposition, the corresponding stochastic equation can be represented by a Kardar-Parisi-Zhang (KPZ) equation where both λ and ν depend on p in the following way: ν(p) = νp and λ(p) = λp 3/2. Furthermore, in the other studied model, which is similar to random deposition with relaxation, the stochastic equation can be represented by an Edwards-Wilkinson (EW) equation where ν depends on p according to ν(p) = νp 2. It is expected that these results will help to find a framework for the development of stochastic equations starting from microscopic details of growth models. The class of nonlinear evolution equations (NLEE) - gauge equivalent to the N-wave equations related to the simple Lie algebra are derived and analyzed. They are written in terms of (x, t) ∈ satisfying r = rank nonlinear constraints. The corresponding Lax pairs and the time evolution of the scattering data are found. The Zakharov-Shabat dressing method is appropriately modified to construct their soliton solutions. We have measured the storage instabilities of electrons in a Penning trap at low magnetic fields. These measurements are carried out as a function of the trapping voltage, for different magnetic fields. It is seen that these instabilities occur at the same positions when the trapping voltage is expressed as a percentage of the maximum voltage, given by the stability limit. The characteristic frequencies at which these instabilities occur, obey a relation that is given by n zω z + n +ω + + n -ω - = 0, where ω z, ω + and ω - are the axial, perturbed cyclotron and the magnetron frequencies of the trapped electrons respectively, and the n's are integers. The reason for these instabilities are attributed to higher order static perturbations in the trapping potential. We show that the electronic states in a one-dimensional (1D) Anderson model of diagonal disorder with long-range correlation proposed by de Moura and Lyra exhibit localization-delocalization phase transition in varying the energy of electrons. Using transfer matrix method, we calculate the average resistivity and investigate how it changes with the size of the system N. For given value of α (> 2) we find critical energies Ec1 and Ec2 such that the resistivity decreases with N as a power law ∝ N - γ for electron energies within the range of [E c1, E c2], and exponentially grows with N outside this range. Such behaviors persist in approaching the transition points and the exponent γ is in the range from 0.92 to 0.96. The origin of the delocalization in this 1D model is discussed. We demonstrate the usefulness of two-dimensional hyperbolic geometry as a tool to generate three-dimensional Euclidean (E3) networks. The technique involves projection of edges of tilings of the hyperbolic plane (H2) onto three-periodic minimal surfaces, embedded in E3. Given the extraordinary wealth of symmetries commensurate with H2, we can generate networks in E3 that are difficult to construct otherwise. In particular, we form four-, five- and seven-connected (E3) nets containing three- and five-rings, viz. (3, 7), (5, 4) and (5, 5) tilings in H2. LetH=–+V onl 2(), whereV(x),x, are i.i.d.r.v.'s with common probability distributionv. Leth(t)=e itv dv(v) and letk(E) be the integrated density of states. It is proven: (i) Ifh isn-times differentiable withh (j)(t)=O((1+|t|)) for some >0,j=0, 1, ...,n, thenk(E) is aC n function. In particular, ifv has compact support andh(t)=O((1+|t|)) with >0, thenk(E) isC . This allowsv to be singular continuous. (ii) Ifh(t)=O(e –|t|) for some >0 thenk(E) is analytic in a strip about the real axis. The proof uses the supersymmetric replica trick to rewrite the averaged Green's function as a two-point function of a one-dimensional supersymmetric field theory which is studied by the transfer matrix method.Research partially supported by the NSF under grant MC-8301889  相似文献

The cyclotron frequencies of singly charged carbon clusters Cn + (n ≥ 2) were measured with the Penning-trap mass spectrometer ISOLTRAP at ISOLDE/CERN. The present limit of mass accuracy δm/m = 1.2 . 10-8 and the extent of the mass-dependent systematic shift (δm/m)sys = 1.7(0.6) . 10-10/u . (m - m ref) of the setup were investigated for the first time. In addition, absolute mass measurements by use of pure clusters of the most abundant carbon isotope 12C are now possible at ISOLTRAP. Excited states of 99Ag were populated via the 50Cr + 58Ni (261 MeV) reaction using the NORDBALL detector array equipped with charged-particle and neutron detector systems for reaction channel separation. On the basis of the measured γγ-coincidence relations and angular distribution ratios a significantly extended level scheme has been constructed up to E x ∼ 7.8 MeV and I = 35/2. The experimental results were described within the framework of the shell model. Candidates for states fully aligned in the πg 9/2 -3ν(d 5/2, g 7/2)2 valence configuration space were found at 4109 and 6265 keV. We have investigated the algebraic structure of the Fokker-Planck equation with a variable diffusion coefficient and a time-dependent mean-reverting force. Such a model could be useful to study the general problem of a Brownian walker with a space-dependent diffusion coefficient. We also show that this model is related to the Fokker-Planck equation with a constant diffusion coefficient and a time-dependent anharmonic potential of the form V(x, t) = ?a(t)x 2 + b ln x, which has been widely applied to model different physical and biological phenomena, e.g. the study of neuron models and stochastic resonance in monostable nonlinear oscillators. Using the Lie algebraic approach we have derived the exact diffusion propagators for the Fokker-Planck equations associated with different boundary conditions, namely (i) the case of a single absorbing barrier, and (ii) the case of two absorbing barriers. These exact diffusion propagators enable us to study the time evolution of the corresponding stochastic systems. Received 23 October 2001 and Received in final form 24 December 2001  相似文献

We investigate the influence of long range interactions on the relaxation behaviour of a lattice model with an on-site potential of 4-type and infinite range harmonic interactions. For finite number of particlesN, it is shown that the autocorrelation functions <E n(t)E n > of the fluctuations of the one-particle energiesE n(t) decays exponentially. The corresponding relaxation time is proportional toN and is given by (T, N) =N0(T). The temperature dependent time scale 0 can explicitly be related to the dynamics of a one-particle correlator of the noninteracting system. The results are derived using Mori-Zwanzig projection formalism. The corresponding memory kernel is calculated within a mode coupling approximation and by a perturbative approach. Both results agree in leading order in 1/N. It is speculated that any interaction of range generates a timescale .  相似文献

Pauli exclusion between the carriers of N excitons induces novel many-body effects, quite different from the ones generated by Coulomb interaction. Using our commutation technique for interacting close-to-boson particles, we here calculate the Hamiltonian expectation value in the N-ground-state-exciton state. Coulomb interaction enters this quantity at first order only by construction; nevertheless, due to Pauli exclusion, subtle many-body effects take place, which give rise to terms in (Na x 3/)n with n ≥ 2. An exact procedure to get these density dependent terms is given. For a given Hermitian Hamiltonian H(s)(s∈[0,1])with eigenvalues Ek(s)and the corresponding eigenstates|Ek(s)(1 k N),adiabatic evolution described by the dilated Hamiltonian HT(t):=H(t/T)(t∈[0,T])starting from any fixed eigenstate|En(0)is discussed in this paper.Under the gap-condition that|Ek(s)-En(s)|λ0 for all s∈[0,1]and all k n,computable upper bounds for the adiabatic approximation errors between the exact solution|ψT(t)and the adiabatic approximation solution|ψadi T(t)to the Schr¨odinger equation i|˙ψT(t)=HT(t)|ψT(t)with the initial condition|ψT(0)=|En(0)are given in terms of fidelity and distance, respectively. As an application,it is proved that when the total evolving time T goes to infinity,|ψT(t)-|ψadi T(t)converges uniformly to zero, which implies that|ψT(t)≈|ψadi T(t)for all t∈[0,T]provided that T is large enough.  相似文献

The reduced transition probability B(E2: 01 +→ 2+) of 72Zn has been measured for the first time by Coulomb excitation at intermediate energy. The result B(E2: 01 +→ 2+) = 1740±210 e2fm4, corresponds to the deformation parameter β2 of 0.23, in close agreement with expectations derived from the neighboring nucleus 73Zn. A discussion of the evolution of the N = 40 sub-shell closure as a function of Z is presented. Received: 19 December 2001 / Accepted: 14 March 2002  相似文献

The semi-infinite Toda lattice is the system of differential equations d n (t)/dt = n (t)(b n+1(t) – b n (t)), db n (t)/dt = 2( n 2(t) – n–1 2(t)), n = 1, 2, ..., t > 0. The solution of this system (if it exists) is a pair of real sequences n (t), b n (t) which satisfy the conditions n (0) = n ,, b n (0) = b n , where n > 0 and b n are given sequences of real numbers. It is well known that the system has a unique solution provided that both sequences n and b n are bounded. When at least one of the known sequences n and b n is unbounded, many difficulties arise and, to the best of our knowledge, there are few results concerning the solution of the system. In this letter we find a class of unbounded sequences n and b n such that the system has a unique solution. The results are illustrated with a typical example where the sequences i (t), b i (t), i = 1, 2, ... can be exactly determined. The connection of the Toda lattice with the semi-infinite differential-difference equation d2/dt 2 log h n = h n+1 + h n–1 – 2h n , n = 1, 2, ... is also discussed and the above results are translated to analogous results for the last equation.  相似文献

Second-order moving average and scaling of stochastic time series   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
Long-range correlation properties of stochastic time series y(i) have been investigated by introducing the function σ2 MA = [y(i) - (i)]2, where (i) is the moving average of y(i), defined as 1/n y(i - k), n the moving average window and Nmax is the dimension of the stochastic series. It is shown that, using an appropriate computational procedure, the function σ MA varies as nH where H is the Hurst exponent of the series. A comparison of the power-law exponents obtained using respectively the function σ MA and the Detrended Fluctuation Analysis has been also carried out. Interesting features denoting the existence of a relationship between the scaling properties of the noisy process and the moving average filtering technique have been evidenced. A kinematically complete measurement was made of the Coulomb dissociation of 8B nuclei on a Pb target at 83 MeV/nucleon. The cross-section was measured at low relative energies in order to infer the astrophysical S-factor for the 7Be(p,γ)8B reaction. A first-order perturbation theory analysis of the reaction dynamics including E1, E2, and M1 transitions was employed to extract the E1 strength relevant to neutrino-producing reactions in the solar interior. By fitting the measured cross-section from E rel = 130 keV to 400 keV, we find S 17(0) = 17.8+1.4 -1.2 eV b. Semiclassical 1st-order perturbation theory and fully quantum-mechanical continuum-discretized coupled-channels analyses yield nearly identical results for the E1 strength relevant to solar-neutrino flux calculations, suggesting that theoretical reaction mechanism uncertainties need not limit the precision of Coulomb-breakup determinations of the 7Be(p,γ)8B S-factor. A recommended value of S 17(0) based on a weighted average of this and other measurements is presented. This recommendation implies a revised value for the theoretical flux of 8B solar neutrinos, which is also given.-1 Received: 21 March 2002 / Accepted: 16 May 2002 / Published online: 31 October 2002 RID="a" ID="a"Present address: Kernfysisch Versneller Instituut, Zernikelaan 25, 9747 AA Groningen, The Netherlands; e-mail: davids@kvi.nl  相似文献

High-spin states of 157Dy were investigated using in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy techniques with a 150Nd(12C, 5n) reaction. Three rotational bands with the h 9/2, i 13/2 and h 11/2 configurations were observed up to (43/2-), 53/2+ and 45/2-, respectively. Interband M1 transitions in the h 11/2 (high-Ω) band were also measured up to the highest-spin state. The high-spin states were well reproduced by calculations using the tilted-axis-cranking model (TAC). The B(M1)/B(E2) ratio, Routhian and the tilted angle of the angular-momentum vector are found to be in good agreement with the result of the TAC calculation. Let (E): u t=H(u) denote the KdV, MKdV or Burgers equation, and U(s)=(Dj s)/u j, where D=d/dx, u i=Di u, s=s(u, u 1, ..., u n) is a polynomial of u i with constant coefficients, be the generator of invariant group of equation (E). We prove in this paper that all such generators form a commutative Lie algebra, from which it follows that for any symmetry s(u, ..., u n) of (E), the evolution equation u t=s(u, ..., u n) possesses an infinite number of symmetries (or conservation laws in the case of KdV and MKdV equations).  相似文献
