The circular polarization P of γ-rays from unpolarized sources of 75Se, 171Er, and 175Yb of strengths ? 500 Ci has been measured with a Compton polarimeter of the radial transmission type. Eight NaI crystals and a four-fold current integration system were used to simultaneously record the data in four independent channels. The results are: P = ?(1.8 ± 6.0) × 10?5 for the 401 keV transition in 75As (the experimental error is ± 1.5 × 10?5, the remaining part is due to the uncertainty in the decay scheme of 75Se), P = (0.8 ± 1.5) × 10?4 for the 296 keV and 308 keV transition in 171Tm, and P = (5.7 ± 0.8) × 10?5 for the 396 keV transition in 175Lu. The last value confirms the parity non-conservation in nuclear forces. The polarimeter was calibrated with bremsstrahlung from 170Tm. The correction for polarized bremsstrahlung was given special attention. Correction factors are derived for 51Cr, 177Lu, and 198Au from a comparison of the measured and calculated bremsstrahlung yields.  相似文献

It is stressed that within the simplest model SU(4) of color, unifying quarks with leptons, where BL is a gauge symmetry, a spontaneous breaking of this symmetry leads naturally to baryonlepton decays like n→e?k+, e?K+, μ?π+, μ?K+ [in constant to SU(5) where BL is not gauged]. Our mechanism is crucially tied to the presence of the Higgs multiplet (2, 2, 15) of SU(2) × SU(2) × SU(4), which is needed to account for the observed quarklepton mass ratios.  相似文献

A search for the existence of the tetraneutron has been made using the double charge exchange reaction π? + 208Pb4n + π++ residuals for 4n production and the capture process in the same target, 208Pb + 4n212Pb + γ, for the 4n detection. No event has been found, giving an upper limit for the product of the production cross section σp, the detection cross section σd and the 4n lifetime τ. Assuming 10?18τ ≦ 10?9 sec it follows that σpσdτ ≦ 2.5 × 10?65cm4 sec with 90 % confidence, and for τ ≧ 10?9sec, σpσd ≦ 2.5 × 10?56cm4 with 90 % confidence. The magnitude of this value is comparable to the experimental limit of the 4He(π?, π+)4n cross section.  相似文献

The inclusive production of Λ, KS0, Σ±(1385) and K(892) in π?p interactions at 6 GeV/c has been studied. The observed cross sections are: σ(Λ)=0.94±0.06 mb, σ(KS0)=0.98±0.06 mb, σ(Σ+(1385))=60±7 μb, σ(Σ?(1385))=90±9 μb, σ(K1+(892))=216±28 μb and σ(K1?(892))=41±8 μb, respectively. The inclusive spectra of these particles are presented as functions of squared transverse momentum and Feynman scaling variable x. The polarization of Λ has also been investigated. It is found from a comparison with higher-energy data that the inclusive cross sections for Σ±(1385) and the production ratios Σ±(1385)/Λ in π?p at 6 GeV/c have not reached the high-energy limiting values.  相似文献

From a study of 70 000 K° decays in the CERN 2m hydrogen bubble chamber, we have estimated the rate for KS0π+π?γ for different cuts in the γ momentum. The results are in good agreement with inner bremsstrahlung on KS0π+π?. For γ momentum in the K° c.m. greater than 50 MeV/c, we obtain the branching ratio: Γ(KSπ+π?γ, k>50 MeV/c)/Γ(KSπ+π?)=(2.8. ± 0.6)×10?3. This leads to an estimate for the direct γ emission process: Γ(KSπ+π?γ direct)/Γ(KSπ+π?)=(0.3 ± 0.6) × 10?3.  相似文献

The process of slow π? absorption in 2145Sc, 2759Co, 3989Y, 55133Cs, 59141Pr and 79197Au atomic nuclei, followed by the emission of one proton, has been investigated. Upper limits for the probabilities of single-proton emission have been determined from the yields of the isotopes produced. The following values are obtained, per stopped pion: W ? 6.1 × 10?4 for the reaction 2145Sc(π?, p)1944K, W ? 0.87 × 10?4 for 2759Co(π?, p)2558Mn, W ? 6.9 × 10?4 for 3989Y(π?, p)3788Rb, W ? 1.3 × 10?4 for 55133Cs(π?, p)53132I, W ? 3.0 × 10?4 for 59141Pr(π?, p)57140La, and W ? 3.3 × 10?5 for 79197Au(π?, p)77196mIr.  相似文献

Coulomb excitation studies have been performed to measure transition probabilities of collective quadrupole vibrational states in 180Hf. The I = 2 level of the Kπ = 2+ collective γ-band is established at 1200.5 keV with B(E2)exc = (11.0 ± 1.1) × 10?50e2 · cm4 (3.6 ± 0.4 s.p.u.). The angular distribution of the de-exciting γ-rays from this level yields δ = 9.6+22?5.8 or, less likely, 0.7 ± 0.2 for the 1107.2 keV 2γ+ → 2g+ transition. The B(E2)exc for any KπI = 0+2 stateorother 2+ states up to 1500 keV is less than 5 × 10?51e2 · cm4 (< 0.2. s.p.u.).  相似文献

Numerical experiments to the (1 + 1)-dimensional (Ø4?)2 equation are reported. In a certain amplitude region a soliton-antisoliton bound state Ø(x, t >) (pulson) decays much slower than exponentially in time. For 0.30 ? Ø (0, t) ? 1.44 the slope of the maximum amplitudes is found between 0 and ?2 × 10?6 per unit time. In consequence, the lower bound for the pulsons' lifetime can be essentially increased.  相似文献

The bending vibration-rotation band ν4 of DCCF was studied. The measurements were carried out with a Fourier spectrometer at a resolution of about 0.03 cm?1. The constants B0=0.29141(1)cm?1, α4=?5.02(2)×10?4cm?1, q4=4.52(3)×10?4cm?1, and D0=9.2(4)×10?8cm?1 were derived. The rotational analysis of the “hot” bands 2ν4(Δ) ← ν4(II) and 2ν4+) ← ν4(II) was performed. In addition, the “hot” bands ν4 + ν5 ← ν5 were assigned. The absolute intensities of the transitions 401III←000 and 411III←010 of CO2 have been measured from spectra obtained under high resolution. Both the vibration-rotation line intensities and the integrated band intensities are reported. The rotationless transition moment of 401III←000 is deduced and a vibration-rotation interaction factor F(m) = 1+(4.92×10?4)m+(4.4×10?7)m2 is determined. The values obtained are: SBand(401III←000) = (25.54±0.22)×10?5 cm?2atm(293 K)?1, |R000401III| = (1.87±0.02)×10?4D, and SBand(411III←010) = (1.83±0.13)×10?5 cm?2atm(293 K)?1.  相似文献

Parity violating effects in the transmission and radiative capture of longitudinally polarized thermal neutrons have been observed for 117Sn and 139La targets. Helicity dependent asymmetries a = 106 (σ+-? σ?)/(σ+ + σ?) were found in the total cross section of 117Sn (a = 6.2 ± 0.7) and 139La (a = 9.0 ± 1.4), and also in the (n, γ) cross section of 117Sn (a = 22.6 ± 1.9) and of 139La (a = 16.1 ± 2.0).  相似文献

本文用固相反应烧结制备出Li2Mo2O6多晶材料。经X射线分析、红外光谱和电子顺磁共振谱(EPR)的研究,确定了它的结构是Li2Mo2O4和MoO2两个晶相组成的烧结体。钼离子以四价状态存在于MoO2晶相结构中。采用交流阻抗谱分析了晶界与温度变化的相关性。测得了样品的ln(σT)-1/T 曲线是由两段直线和一段曲线所组成;总电导率化能σ27℃=1.36×10-3(Ω·cm)-1115℃=1.49×10-3(Ω·cm)-1300℃=9.71×10-3(Ω·cm)-1370℃=2.42×10-3(Ω·cm)-1;电导活化能E1=0.043eV,E2=0.235eV,E平均=0.76eV。采用维格纳极化电池法测得电子电导率σee27℃=2.240×10-5(Ω·cm)-1e300℃=4.476×10-3(Ω·cm)-1。实验证明,室温下材料为固体电解质,300℃附近为良好的离子与电子混合导体。 关键词:  相似文献

A search for K+ → π+γ, π+γγ, π+γγγ was made detecting pions from stopped kaons in the kinetic energy region between 117 MeV and 127 MeV. New Limits of 1.4 ×10?6, 8.4 × 10?6 and 1.0 × 10?4 for the branching ratio were obtained assuming a phase-space spectrum on the pion energy. The first limit also aplies to another process K+ → π+ + a, where a is a light meson with mass smaller than 100 MeV/c2 and decays into nγ's with lifetime less than 10?9 s.  相似文献

The decay of 184mRe has been investigated through γ-ray and conversion electron studies. The band head of the Kπ = 2? octupole band has been established at 1130.0 keV. The E2/M1 mixing ratios of three transitions from the γ-vibrational band to the ground state band have been determined by angular correlation measurements. A mixing of El, M2 and E3 multipolarity has been derived for the 921 keV transition combining angular correlation and conversion electron data. A value B(E3, 0+ → 3? = (25 ± 5) × 104e2 · fm6 was obtained from the measured E2/M1 mixing of the 91 keV 3? → → 2? transition and γ-branchings. The data are discussed in terms of the collective model taking into account band mixing.  相似文献

The possibility of experiments with cosmic neutrinos of energy E > 3 × 1017 eV is discussed. The upper bound of neutrino-nucleon cross-section σ < 9.3 × 10?30 cm2 is obtained from the zenith angular distribution of extensive air showers under some particular astrophysical assumptions.  相似文献

The (α, 12C) reaction has been studied on a variety of nuclei, A = 16 to 40, at Eα = 90.3 MeV. The data indicate a rapid fall-off of cross sections with increasing target mass, approximately as At?5 ± 1. This and other systematics are used to estimate cross sections for multi-α-cluster transfer reactions in heavy nuclei and suggest σT < 10?34 cm2 consistent with present experimental limits. The data for 24Mg(α, 12C)16O has been studied in more detail and indicates a selective population of final states including 16O g.s., with oscillatory angular distributions in some instances. Finite-range distorted-wave Born approximation calculations for direct 8Be pickup have been performed utilizing cluster overlap amplitudes obtained with zero-order SU(3) wave functions. The calculations are in qualitative, and often quantitative, agreement with shapes and absolute magnitudes of the measured angular distributions although the cross sections for certain α-cluster states (2+, Ex ≈ 7 MeV; 4+, Ex ≈ 10.3 MeV) are greatly overestimated with this model. Other more complicated mechanisms, such as successive α-transfer, cannot be excluded. The systematics of the calculated 8Be cluster overlaps and the calculated and measured (α, 12C) cross sections are investigated, and implications for multi-α-cluster transfer reactions are discussed.  相似文献

The gas-phase infrared spectrum of monoisotopic H374Ge35Cl has been studied in the ν1, ν4 region near 2100 cm?1 with a resolution of 0.008 cm?1. Rotational fine structure for ΔJ = ±1 branches has been resolved for both fundamentals. ν1 (a1), 2119.977 03(19) cm?1; and ν4 (e), 2128.484 65(8) cm?1 are weakly coupled by Coriolis x,y resonance, 1,4y 2.6 × 10?3 cm?1, and l-type resonance within ν4, q4(+) ?8.4 × 10?6 cm?1, has been observed. An extended Fermi resonance with ν5±1 + 2ν6±2, which mainly affects the kl = ?14 and ?15 levels of ν4, has been detected and analyzed. In addition, several weak and local resonances perturb essentially every K subband of ν4 and some of ν1, and a qualitative model is proposed to account for the features observed in the spectrum. Disregarding the transitions involved in local perturbations, the rms deviation of the fit to the remaining 2021 lines is σ = 1.34 × 10?3 cm?1.  相似文献

The relaxation dynamics of matrix isolated CH and CD have been studied using laser-induced time and wavelength resolved spectroscopy. Vibrationally relaxed B(0′-0″) fluorescence occurs following laser excitation both above and below the gas phase dissociation limit. The vibrational relaxation rate in the B state of CH is found to be 4.6 × 106 sec?1 while the corresponding rate in CD is 5.7 × 105 sec?1. The primary accepting mode in the relaxation process is consistent with rotation.  相似文献

Measurements of the line strengths of the (1110,0310)II-0000 band of CO2 (1932.466 cm?1) have been made with high resolution. They exhibit a strong Coriolis interaction which enhances the P-branch intensity while reducing that of the R branch. The rotationless dipole moment of the transition and the ξ-constant representing this interaction have been determined as: R(0) = (6.57 ± 0.03) × 10?4D, ξ = ?0.0598 ± 0.0002.  相似文献

We have investigated inclusive Λ, Λ and Σ±(1385) productions in 405 GeV/c pp interactions. The observed cross sections are σ(Λ)=4.05±0.39 mb, σ(Λ=0.63±0.17 mb, σ(Σ+(1385))=0.74±0.17 mb and σ(Λ?(1385))=0.56±0.17 mb. Λ production is dominant in a central region of ∣x∣≤0.4. The Λ/Λ production ratio at ∣x∣≈0 is found to be 1.2±0.5. The excess, about 0.2 mb, of σ(Λ+(1385)) over σ(Λ?(1385)) is most likely attributed to proton fragmentations (∣x∣≥0.4), and gives an evidence for scaling.  相似文献
