The adsorption behavior of radiocobalt by Mg2Al layered double hydroxide (Mg2Al LDH) was studied as a function of contact time, pH, ionic strength, foreign ions, FA and temperature under ambient conditions. The results showed that the kinetic adsorption could be described by a pseudo-second order model very well. The adsorption of Co(II) on Mg2Al LDH was strongly dependent on pH and ionic strength. The presence of FA enhanced the adsorption of Co(II) on Mg2Al LDH at low pH, whereas reduced Co(II) adsorption at high pH. The Langmuir model fitted the adsorption isotherms of Co(II) better than the Freundlich and D–R model at three different temperatures of 303, 323 and 343 K. The thermodynamic parameters (ΔH°, ΔS° and ΔG°) calculated from the temperature dependent adsorption isotherms indicated that the adsorption process of Co(II) on Mg2Al LDH was endothermic and spontaneous. The results show that Mg2Al LDH is a promising material for the preconcentration and separation of pollutants from large volumes of aqueous solutions.  相似文献

In this work, sequestration of Ni(II) from aqueous solution to Mg2Al layered double hydroxide (Mg2Al LDH) by adsorption process as a function of various water quality parameters and temperature was investigated. The results showed that the kinetic adsorption could be described by a pseudo-second order model very well. The adsorption of Ni(II) on Mg2Al LDH was strongly dependent on pH and ionic strength. The presence of humic acid (HA)/fulvic acid (FA) enhanced the adsorption of Ni(II) on Mg2Al LDH at low pH, whereas reduced Ni(II) adsorption at high pH. The Langmuir model fitted the adsorption isotherms of Ni(II) better than the Freundlich model at three different temperatures of 298, 318 and 338 K. The thermodynamic parameters (ΔHo, ΔSo and ΔGo) calculated from the temperature dependent adsorption isotherms indicated that the adsorption process of Ni(II) on Mg2Al LDH was endothermic and spontaneous. The results show that Mg2Al LDH is a promising material for the preconcentration and separation of pollutants from large volumes of aqueous solutions.  相似文献

The interaction of U(VI) with Na-attapulgite was studied by using batch technique at different experimental conditions. The effect of contact time, solid content, pH, ionic strength and temperature on the sorption of U(VI) onto Na-attapulgite in the presence and absence of humic acid was also investigated. The results showed that the sorption of U(VI) on Na-attapulgite achieved sorption equilibrium quickly. Sorption of U(VI) on Na-attapulgite increased quickly with increasing pH at pH < 6.5, and then decreased with pH increasing at pH > 6.5. The sorption curves were shifted to left in low NaClO4 solutions as compared those in high NaClO4 solutions. The sorption was strongly dependent on pH and ionic strength. The sorption was dominated by ion exchange or outer-sphere surface complexation at low pH values, and by inner-sphere surface complexation or surface precipitation at high pH values. The thermodynamic parameters (i.e., ΔH 0, ΔS 0, and ΔG 0) for the sorption of U(VI) were calculated from the temperature dependent sorption isotherms, and the results suggested that the sorption reaction was an endothermic and spontaneous process. The Na-attapulgite is a suitable material in the removal and preconcentration of U(VI) from large volumes of aqueous solutions in nuclear waste management.  相似文献

Application of NKF-6 zeolite for the removal of U(VI) from aqueous solution   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
To better understand the application of NKF-6 zeolite as an adsorbent for the removal of U(VI) from radionuclides and heavy metal ions polluted water, herein, NKF-6 zeolite was employed to remove U(VI) at different experimental conditions. The influence of solid/liquid ratio, contact time, pH, ionic strength, humic substances and temperature on sorption of U(VI) to NKF-6 zeolite was investigated using batch technique under ambient conditions. The experimental results demonstrated that the sorption of U(VI) on NKF-6 zeolite was strongly dependent on pH. The sorption property of U(VI) was influenced by ionic strength at pH < 7.0, whereas was independent of ionic strength at pH > 7.0. The presence of fulvic acid or humic acid promoted the sorption of U(VI) on NKF-6 zeolite at low pH values while restrained the sorption at high pH values. The thermodynamic parameters (i.e., ΔS 0, ΔH 0, and ΔG 0) calculated from the temperature-dependent sorption isotherms demonstrated that the sorption process of U(VI) on NKF-6 zeolite was endothermic and spontaneous. At low pH values, the sorption of U(VI) was dominated by outer-sphere surface complexation and ion exchange with Na+/H+ on NKF-6 zeolite surfaces, while inner-sphere surface complexation was the main sorption mechanism at high pH values. From the experimental results, one can conclude that NKF-6 zeolite can be used as a potential adsorbent for the preconcentration and solidification of U(VI) from large volumes of aqueous solutions.  相似文献

The adsorption of the uranyl ions from aqueous solutions on the nanoporous ZnO powders has been investigated under different experimental conditions. The adsorption of uranyl on nanoporous ZnO powders were examined as a function of the contact times, pH of the solution, concentration of uranium(VI) and temperature. The ability of this material to remove U(VI) from aqueous solution was followed by a series of Langmuir and Freunlinch adsorption isotherms. The adsorption percent and distribution coefficient for nanoporous ZnO powders were 98.65 % ± 1.05 and 7,304 mL g?1, respectively. The optimum conditions were found as at pH 5.0, contact time 1 h, at 1/5 Zn2+/urea ratio, 50 ppm U(VI) concentration and 303 K. The monomolecular adsorption capacity of nanoporous ZnO powders for U(VI) was found to be 1,111 mg g?1 at 303 K. Using the thermodynamic equilibrium constants obtained at different temperatures, various thermodynamic parameters, such as ΔG°, ΔH° and ΔS°, have been calculated. Thermodynamic parameters (ΔH° = 28.1 kJ mol ?1, ΔS° = 160.30 J mol?1 K?1, ΔG° = ?48.54 kJ mol?1) showed the endothermic and spontaneous of the process. The results suggested that nanoporous ZnO powders was suitable as sorbent material for recovery and adsorption of U(VI) ions from aqueous solutions.  相似文献

The kaolinite sample was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and X-ray powder diffraction, and was applied as adsorbent for the removal of radiocobalt ions from radioactive wastewater. The results demonstrated that the sorption of Co(II) was strongly dependent on pH and ionic strength at low pH values, and independent of pH and ionic strength at high pH values. The sorption of Co(II) was dominated by outer-sphere surface complexation or ion exchange at low pH values, whereas inner-sphere surface complexation was the main sorption mechanism at high pH values. The sorption isotherms were well described by Langmuir, Freundlich and Dubinin–Radushkevich models. The thermodynamic parameters (i.e., ΔG°, ΔS°, ΔH°) calculated from the temperature-dependent sorption isotherms indicated that the sorption of Co(II) on kaolinite was an endothermic and spontaneous process. The results of high sorption capacity of kaolinite suggested that the kaolinite sample was a suitable material for the preconcentration of Co(II) from large volumes of aqueous solutions and as backfill materials in nuclear waste management.  相似文献

The phosphorylated hydrothermal carbon spheres (HCS-PO4) were developed by functionalizing hydrothermal carbon spheres (HCS) with o-phosphoethanolamine, and the structure and textural property were characterized by SEM and FT-IR. The parameters that affect the uranium(VI) sorption, such as solution pH, initial U(VI) concentration, contact time, and temperature, had been investigated. The HCS-PO4 showed the highest uranium sorption capacity at initial pH 6.0 and contact time of 120 min. The adsorption kinetics was better described by the pseudo-second-order model, and the adsorption process could be well defined by the Langmuir isotherm and the maximum monolayer adsorption capacity increased from 80.00 to 434.78 mg/g after phosphorylation. The thermodynamic parameters, ? (298 K), ?H° and ?S°, demonstrated shown that the sorption process of U(VI) onto HCS-PO4 was feasible, spontaneous and endothermic in nature. The spent HCS-PO4 could be effectively regenerated by 0.1 mol/L EDTA solution for the removal and recovery of U(VI) and reused for ten cycles at least. Selective adsorption studies showed that the HCS-PO4 could selectively remove U(VI), and the selectivity coefficients of HCS in the presence of co-existing ions, Mg(II), Na(I), Zn(II), Mn(II),Co(II), Ni(II), Sr(II), Cs(I) and Hg(II) improved after functionalization.  相似文献

To better understand the application of kaolinite as an adsorbent for the decontamination of Ni(II) from radionuclide contaminated aqueous systems, herein, the sorption behavior of radionuclide 63Ni(II) on kaolinite as a function of contacting time, pH, coexistent electrolyte ions, adsorbent concentration, fulvic acid and humic acid was investigated using batch technique. At low pH values, ion exchange and/or outer-sphere surface complexation was the main mechanism of Ni(II) sorption on kaolinite, whereas, the sorption of Ni(II) was dominated by inner-sphere surface complexation at high pH values. The presence of different electrolyte ions can enhance or inhibit the sorption of Ni(II) on kaolinite to some extent. The Langmuir and Freundlich models were used to simulate the sorption isotherms of Ni(II) at three different temperatures of 288, 313 and 338 K. The thermodynamic parameters (i.e., ΔS°, ΔH°, and ΔG°) calculated from the temperature-dependent sorption isotherms indicated that the sorption reaction of Ni(II) on kaolinite was endothermic and spontaneous. The findings in this present study demonstrates that the kaolinite can be used as a cost-effective adsorbent for the solidification and pre-concentration of Ni(II) from large volumes of aqueous systems.  相似文献

Ulva gigantea (Kützing) bliding (UGB) obtained from sea inlet of Izmir-Turkey has been studied as a biosorbent for removal of radioactive metals from water. In this study, unmodified UGB and modified UGB with glutaraldehyde (GUGB) characterized by FTIR spectroscopy were used as biosorbents for removal of U(VI) and Th(IV) ions from aqueous solution. Adsorption experiments performed under batch process with initial pH, contact time, adsorbent mass and temperature as variables. In order to determine the adsorption characteristics, Langmuir, Freundlich and Dubinin-Raduschkevich adsorption isotherms were applied to the adsorption data. Adsorption experiments showed that the adsorption isotherms correlated well with the Freundlich model. The sorption followed pseudo-second-order kinetics. The thermodynamic parameters such as variations of ??H°, ??G° and ??S° were estimated as a function of temperature. The thermodynamics of the adsorption of U(VI) and Th(IV) onto UGB and GUGB indicates that the spontaneous and exothermic nature of the process. The results showed that UGB and GUGB were potential for application in removal of U(VI) and Th(IV) from aqueous solution.  相似文献

The development of nuclear power releases large amounts of radionuclides into the natural environment. Herein, the sorption of radionuclide 63Ni on bentonite from Gaomiaozi county (Inner Mongolia, China) at different experimental conditions such as pH, contact time, ionic strength, foreign cations and anions, and temperatures were investigated by using batch technique. The results indicated that the sorption of 63Ni on the bentonite was quickly at first contact time and then increased slowly with increasing contact time. The sorption of 63Ni was strongly dependent on ionic strength at low pH values and independent of ionic strength at high pH values. The sorption of 63Ni on bentonite was mainly dominated by outer-sphere surface complexation or ion exchange at low pH values, whereas inner-sphere surface complexation was the main sorption mechanism at high pH values. The Langmuir, Freundlich, and D–R models were applied to simulate the sorption isotherms of 63Ni at three different temperatures, and the thermodynamic parameters (i.e., ΔH°, ΔS° and ΔG°) calculated from the temperature-dependent sorption isotherms indicated that the sorption of 63Ni on bentonite was an endothermic and spontaneous process. Experimental results indicate that the bentonite is a suitable material for the preconcentration and solidification of 63Ni from large volume of solutions in radionickel pollution cleanup.  相似文献

This paper examined the application of attapulgite as an adsorbent for the removal of Pb(II) from heavy metal-contaminated water under various conditions. The sorption results indicated that the sorption of Pb(II) on attapulgite was strongly dependent on ionic strength at pH < 7.0. Outer-sphere surface complexation or ion exchange may be the main sorption mechanism of Pb(II) on attapulgite at low pH values. No drastic difference of Pb(II) sorption was observed at pH 7.0–10.0, and the sorption at pH > 10.0 was mainly dominated by inner-sphere surface complexation. The sorption of Pb(II) on attapulgite was affected by foreign ions in solution at pH < 7.0, and was not affected by foreign ions at pH > 7.0. The thermodynamic parameters (ΔH°, ΔS° and ΔG°) were evaluated from the temperature-dependent sorption isotherms, and the results indicated that the sorption process of Pb(II) on attapulgite was spontaneous and endothermic in nature.  相似文献

The U(VI) removal from aqueous solutions (concentration range 125–2,000 mg/L, pH 3) by raw and NaOH-modified power plant ash was investigated by means of a batch method under the following experimental conditions: NaOH concentration 5 M, contact time 1 h, respectively 4 h, temperature 70, 90 °C. The amount of sorbed uranium was determined spectrophotometricaly using the Arsenazo III method. The sorbents were examined prior and after the sorption experiments by scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive spectroscopy. Typical sorption isotherms were calculated and modeled by the Langmuir and Freundlich equations. The experimental data showed that all materials can remove considerable amounts of uranium from acidic aqueous solutions. The maximum removal efficiency (q max) values obtained, are 126 mg U/g for raw ash and 206 mg U/g for NaOH-modified. Sorption kinetics measurements were performed at 298, 308 and 323 K and thermodynamic parameters were calculated. The kinetic data obey a pseudo-second order equation.  相似文献

The ability of ordered mesoporous carbon CMK-3 has been explored for the removal and recovery of uraium from aqueous solutions. The textural properties of CMK-3 were characterized using small-angle X-ray diffraction and N2 adsorption–desorption, and the BET specific surface area, pore volume and the pore size were 1143.7 m2/g, 1.10 cm3/g and 3.4 nm. The influences of different experimental parameters such as solution pH, initial concentration, contact time, ionic strength and temperature on adsorption were investigated. The CMK-3 showed the highest uranium sorption capacity at initial pH of 6.0 and contact time of 35 min. Adsorption kinetics was better described by the pseudo-second-order model and adsorption process could be well defined by the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm. The thermodynamic parameters, ?(298 K), ? and ? were determined to be ?7.7, 21.5 k J mol?1 and 98.2 J mol?1 K?1, respectively, which demonstrated the sorption process of CMK-3 towards U(VI) was feasible, spontaneous and endothermic in nature. The adsorbed CMK-3 could be effectively regenerated by 0.05 mol/L HCl solution for the removal and recovery of U(VI). Complete removal (99.9 %) of U(VI) from 1.0 L industry wastewater containing 15.0 mg U(VI) ions was possible with 2.0 g CMK-3.  相似文献

The sorption of U(VI) from aqueous solution on MX-80 bentonite was studied as a function of contact time, pH, ionic strength, solid contents, humic acid (HA), fulvic acid (FA) and temperature under ambient conditions using batch technique. The results indicate that sorption of U(VI) on MX-80 bentonite is strongly dependent on pH and ionic strength. The removal of U(VI) to MX-80 bentonite is rather quick and the kinetic sorption data is simulated well by a pseudo-second-order rate equation. The presence of HA enhances the sorption of U(VI) on MX-80 bentonite obviously, but the influence of FA on U(VI) sorption is not obvious. The thermodynamic parameters (ΔH 0, ΔS 0, and ΔG 0) for the sorption of U(VI) calculated from temperature dependent sorption suggest that the sorption reaction is endothermic and spontaneous.  相似文献

Sorption of U(VI) from aqueous solution to decarbonated calcareous soil (DCS) was studied under ambient conditions using batch technique. Soil samples were characterized by XRD, FT-IR and SEM in detail and the effects of pH, solid-to-liquid ratio (m/V), temperature, contact time, fulvic acid (FA), CO2 and carbonates on U(VI) sorption to calcareous soil were also studied in detail using batch technique. The results from experimental techniques showed that sorption of U(VI) on DCS was significantly influenced by pH values of the aqueous phase, indicating a formation of inner-sphere complexes at solid–liquid interface, and increased with increasing temperature, suggesting the sorption process was endothermic and spontaneous. Compared to Freundlich model, sorption of U(VI) to DCS was simulated better with Langmuir model. The sorption equilibrium could be quickly achieved within 5 h, and sorption results fitted pseudo-second-order model well. The presence of FA in sorption system enhanced U(VI) sorption at low pH and reduced U(VI) sorption at high pH values. In absence of FA, the sorption of U(VI) onto DCS was an irreversible process, while the presence of FA reinforced the U(VI) desorption process reversible. The presence of CO2 decreased U(VI) sorption largely at pH >8, which might due to a weakly adsorbable formation of Ca2UO2(CO3)3 complex in aqueous phase.  相似文献

The ability of biochar produced by hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) has been explored for the removal and recovery of uranium from aqueous solutions. The micro-morphology and structure of HTC were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The influences of different experimental parameters such as solution pH, initial concentration, contact time, ionic strength and temperature on adsorption were investigated. The HTC showed the highest uranium sorption capacity at initial pH of 6.0 and contact time of 50 min. Adsorption kinetics was better described by the pseudo-second-order model and adsorption process could be well defined by the Langmuir isotherm. The thermodynamic parameters, △(298 K), △ and △ were determined to be ?14.4, 36.1 kJ mol?1 and 169.7 J mol?1 K?1, respectively, which demonstrated the sorption process of HTC towards U(VI) was feasible, spontaneous and endothermic in nature. The adsorbed HTC could be effectively regenerated by 0.05 mol/L HCl solution for the removal and recovery of U(VI). Complete removal (99.9 %) of U(VI) from 1.0 L industry wastewater containing 15.0 mg U(VI) ions was possible with 2.0 g HTC.  相似文献

The adsorption of U(VI) onto dried and pyrolyzed tea and coffee wastes was investigated. The adsorption properties of the materials were characterized by measuring uranium uptake as a function of solution pH, kinetics and adsorption isotherms. pH profile of uranium adsorption where UO2 2+ is expected to be the predominant species was measured between pH 0 and 4. Both Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption models were used to describe adsorption equilibria, and corresponding constants evaluated. Using the Langmuir model, the maximum adsorption capacity of uranium by dried tea and coffee wastes was 59.5 and 34.8 mg/g, respectively at 291 K. Adsorption thermodynamic constants, ΔH° ΔS° and ΔG° were also calculated from adsorption data obtained at three different temperatures. Adsorption thermodynamics of uranyl ions on dried tea and coffee systems indicated spontaneous and endothermic processes. Additionally, a Lagergren pseudo-second-order kinetic model was used to fit the kinetic experimental data for both adsorbents and the constants evaluated. Dried tea and coffee wastes proved to be effective adsorbents with high capacities and significant advantage of a very low cost.  相似文献

Polyoxometalates K7[α-PW11O39]·14H2O (PW11) modified mesoporous silica (MCM-48) with cubic structure, was prepared by impregnation and calcination methods. The modified mesoporous silica sorbent (PW11/MCM-48) was studied as a potential adsorbent for U(VI) from aqueous solutions. MCM-48 and PW11/MCM-48 were confirmed by X-ray diffraction and nitrogen physisorption techniques. The results indicate the original keggin structure of PW11 and mesoporous structure of MCM-48 are maintained after supporting PW11 on mesoporous silica MCM-48. The effects of contact time, solid-to-liquid ratio (m/V), solution pH and ionic strength on U(VI) sorption behaviors of the pure and modified mesoporous silicas were also studied. Typical sorption isotherms such as Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms were determined for sorption process. The results suggest that the sorption of U(VI) on MCM-48 or PW11/MCM-48 are strongly dependent on pH values but independent of ionic strength. The sorption capacity of PW11/MCM-48 for U(VI) is about ten times more than that of MCM-48.  相似文献

In this study, natural halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) were applied to remove radiocobalt from wastewaters under various environmental parameters such as contact time, pH, ionic strength, foreign ions and temperature by using batch technique. The results indicated that the sorption of Co(II) on HNTs was dependent on ionic strength at pH < 8.5 and independent of ionic strength at pH > 8.5. Langmuir and Freundlich models were applied to simulate the sorption isotherms of Co(II) at three different temperatures of 293, 313 and 333 K. Langmuir model fitted the sorption isotherms of Co(II) on HNTs better than Freundlich model. The thermodynamic parameters (ΔG 0, ΔS 0 and ΔH 0) calculated from the temperature-dependent sorption isotherms manifested that the sorption of Co(II) on HNTs was an endothermic and spontaneous process. The sorption of Co(II) was dominated by outer-sphere surface complexation or ion exchange at low pH, whereas inner-sphere surface complexation or precipitation was the main sorption mechanism at high pH. The experimental results show that HNTs have good potentialities for cost-effective disposal of cobalt-bearing wastewaters.  相似文献
