In this paper, a procedure for the determination of 11 aromatic hydrocarbon-type sensitisers and their related compounds from water samples, used in the manufacture of thermal paper, is presented. The compounds were extracted using a solid-phase extraction (SPE) cartridge with an octadecyl (C18) or a phenyl-bonded silica (PH) sorbent and then determined by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS). Factors affecting the performance of the extraction steps were thoroughly evaluated, and their effects on the yield of the sample preparation were discussed. Under optimised experimental conditions, SPE cartridges were conditioned with 10?mL hexane followed subsequently by 10?mL methanol, loaded with water sample at 2?mL?min?1, and eluted with 10?mL hexane at 1.5?mL?min?1. The limits of detection and quantification, calculated for signal-to-noise ratios of 3 and 10, were in the range of 1–5?µg?L–1 and 2.5–10?µg?L–1, respectively. Recovery yields of the present method using river water were in the range of 88%–112% with a C18 sorbent and 86%–116% with a PH sorbent. The repeatability, expressed as a relative standard deviation, was in the range of 2.8%–11% with a C18 sorbent and 0.7%–9.7% with a PH sorbent (n?=?4). Analysis of paper mill effluents revealed the presence of aromatic hydrocarbon-type sensitisers with maximum concentrations of up to 5.2?µg?L?1.  相似文献

In this study, a practicable and effective analytical method based on solid-phase-extraction and reversed-phase liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection (SPE-LC-FLD) was developed and partially validated for routine analysis of eight FQs in wastewater at the trace level. Different SPE materials, pH conditions and eluents were modified to find an economic and effective SPE conditions. In our work, it is the first time that well-known commercially available SPE sorbent are compared to ‘generic’ cheap SPE sorbent. Aqueous samples (pH 2–3) were extracted using Anpel? MEP cartridges where they were subsequently eluted by 6?mL of 2% formic acid in MeOH. The aqueous extracts were analysed by gradient elution LC-FLD, whose initial mobile phase was composed of ACN and 10?mmol?L?1 tetrabutyl ammonium bromide (4/96, v/v, pH 3). The LODs and LOQs of the wastewater were as low as 0.32–2.12?ng?L?1 and 1.07–7.07?ng?L?1, respectively. The precisions of the overall method (RSD, n?=?3) using wastewater were below 10%. The method was used to quantify FQs in influents and effluents of several typical sewage treatment plants (STPs) in Shanghai. The extraction recoveries of 100?mL influent, 500?mL effluent and 500?mL of river water samples were between 88.6 and 102.6%, 79.2 and 109.2%, 80.0 and 105.5% and 87.4 and 99.4%, respectively. FQs of interest except sarafloxacin were identified in the influents, effluents and river waters with concentrations varying from 0.012–1.163?µg?L?1, 0.003–0.291?µg?L?1, and 0.002–0.040?µg?L?1, respectively. The method can serve as a tool to obtain detailed information on occurrence, behaviour and fate of FQs in the aquatic environment. Occurrence of FQs detected in summer is higher than in spring at STPs, and those detected in the suburban area are less than those in the urban area. Complete removal of FQs is not achieved from the STPs, indicating domestic wastewater and STP discharge is the source of FQs in the surface water.  相似文献

A molecularly imprinted polymer was synthesized and applied as a sorbent in the solid‐phase extraction device. The imprinted polymer was characterized by fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscope. The results revealed that imprinted polymer possess sensitive selectivity and reliable adsorption properties for five NSAIDs. The imprinted polymer was successfully applied to the pre‐concentration for five NSAIDs in different water samples prior to UPLC‐MS/MS. In the early studies, several factors were investigated, including pH adjustment, the kind of elution solvent and the volume of elution solvent. Finally, we found that the pH 5 and an aliquot of 2 mL methanol were suitable for the water samples. The limits of detection and limits of quantitation of five nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs varied from 0.007 to 0.480 μg L−1 and 0.03 to 1.58 μg L−1, respectively. The spiking recoveries of the target analytes were 50.33‐127.64% at the levels of 0.2 μg L−1, 2 μg L−1 and 5 μg L−1. The precision and accuracy of this method showed a great increase compared with traditional solid‐phase extraction. The developed method was successfully applied to extraction and analysis of NSAIDs in different water samples with satisfactory results which could help us better understand their environmental fate and risk to ecological health.  相似文献

This study investigates an off-line solid phase extraction (SPE) for improving the sensitivity in the capillary electrophoretic (CE) analysis of four cephalosporins. Two sorbents—LiChrolut-C18 and Oasis HLB—were used in a SPE process to detect cephalosporins in natural waters (tap, river and hospital sewage) and their performances were compared. By using Oasis HLB sorbent higher recoveries for river water were obtained (94–107% when 500 mL of sample were analyzed). The off-line SPE–CZE method was validated for river water with good detection limits (3 μg L−1) and the linearity ranged between 5 and 200 μg L−1.  相似文献

This paper describes our research on the synthesis of the sorbent with chemically bonded ketoimine groups, and, furthermore, using this sorbent in the SPE technique to extract and preconcentrate trace amounts of metal ions in water samples. Surface characteristics of the sorbent were determined by elemental analysis, NMR spectra for the solid phases (29Si CP MAS NMR), and analysis of pore size distribution of the sorbent and nitrogen adsorption-desorption. The newly proposed sorbent with ketoimine groups was applied for the extraction and preconcentration of trace amounts of Cu (II), Cr (III) and Zn (II) ions from the water from a lake, post-industrial water and purified water unburdened back to the lake. The determination of the transition-metal ions was performed on an emission spectroscope with inductively coupled plasma ICP-OES. For the batch method, the optimum pH range for Cu (II) and Cr (III) extraction was equal to 5, and Zn(II)–to 8. All the metal ions can be desorbed from SPE columns with 10?mL of 0.5?mol?HNO3. The detection limits of the method were found to be 0.7?µg?L?1 for Cu (II), 0.08?µg?L?1 for Cr (III), and 0.2?µg?L?1 for Zn (II), respectively.  相似文献

In this paper, a highly selective molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) for tramadol hydrochloride, a drug used to treat moderate to severe pain, was prepared and its use as solid-phase extraction (SPE) sorbent was demonstrated. The molecularly imprinted solid-phase extraction procedure followed by high performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detector (MISPE-HPLC) was developed for selective extraction and determination of tramadol in human plasma and urine. The optimal conditions for molecularly imprinted solid-phase extraction (MISPE) consisted of conditioning with 1 mL methanol and 1 mL of deionized water at neutral pH, loading of tramadol sample (50 μg L−1) at pH 7.5, washing using 1 mL acetone and elution with 3 × 1 mL of 10% (v/v) acetic acid in methanol. The MIP selectivity was evaluated by checking several substances with similar molecular structures to that of tramadol. Results from the HPLC analyses showed that the calibration curve of tramadol (using MIP from human plasma and urine) is linear in the ranges of 6–100 and 3–120 μg L−1 with good precisions (1.9% and 2.9% for 5.0 μg L−1), respectively. The recoveries for plasma and urine samples were higher than 81%.   相似文献

An ion imprinted silica sorbent was prepared using a sol–gel process for selective extraction of Ni(II) ions from water samples. Bis(dibenzoylmethanto)nickel(II) complex was used as template; phenyltrimethoxysilane and 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane as functional monomers and tetraethylorthosilicate as reticulating agent. The material was packed in solid-phase extraction (SPE) column. The effect of sampling volume, elution conditions, sample pH and sample flow rate on the extraction of Ni ions from water samples were studied. The relative selectivity coefficients of imprinted sorbent for Ni(II)/Co(II), Ni(II)/Cu(II) and Ni(II)/Cd(II) were 23.7, 30.3 and 24.4, times greater than non-imprinted sorbent, respectively. The relative standard deviation of the eight replicate determinations of Ni(II) was 4.2%. The detection limit was 0.9 µg L?1 using flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The developed method was successfully applied to the determination of trace nickel in water samples.  相似文献

A new analytical procedure for the determination of chromium Cr(III) and Cr(VI) species in different water samples was developed. The method involves solid-phase extraction (SPE), direct ultrasonic slurry sampling (DUSSS), and subsequent electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS). The nanometer-sized zirconium dioxide (ZrO2) was used as the sorbent material. The optimal conditions for the proposed solid phase extraction were: 50 mg ZrO2, 20 min extraction time, pH 2.5 for Cr(VI) and pH 8.0 for Cr(III) and for the ETAAS measurement: 1500°C pyrolysis and 2300°C atomisation temperatures, 1.5 g L?1 Mg(NO3)2 as matrix modifier. The samples were sonicated directly in the autosampler cup, using an ultrasonic probe at 20% power setting for 10 seconds prior to injection into the graphite tube with ?vov platform. In this way, all drawbacks due to the elution procedure were eliminated. The limit of detection and limit of quantification for Cr(III) obtained under optimised conditions were 0.48 μg L?1, and 1.61 μg L?1, respectively, and for Cr(VI) 0.27 μg L?1 and 0.90 μg L?1. The pre-concentration factors attained for both the species were 25. The effects of alkaline, alkaline earth and some metal ions and some anions were also examined. The relative standard deviation estimated from six replicate measurements at a concentration of 0.4 μg L?1 for both Cr(III) and Cr(VI) with a pre-concentration factor of 25 was 2.96% and 4.06%, respectively. The accuracy of the method was confirmed by analysis of the standard reference material SRM 1643e “Trace Elements in Water?. The proposed technique is simple, sensitive, environmentally friendly, and the risk of contamination is low. Hence, it was successfully applied to spiked synthetic and real water samples with recoveries ranging from 91.3% to 109.2%  相似文献

A method for analysis of 20 commonly used pesticides in surface water based on solid-phase extraction and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry was proposed. During method development the key parameters that can affect SPE extraction and determination such as selection of efficient SPE sorbent, pH of water sample, type and volume of elution solvent, breakthrough volume and matrix effects were investigated. The method was validated using spring water spiked with appropriate concentration of pesticides. The obtained correlation coefficients were in range 0.9972–1.000, limits of detection (LOD) were 0.001–0.5?µg?L?1 and the limits of quantification (LOQ) were 0.005–1?µg?L?1 depending on a pesticide. Much higher LOD (20?µg?L?1) and LOQ (50?µg?L?1) values were obtained for bentazone. The influence of matrix was assessed using real water samples spiked with appropriate concentration of pesticide standards solution. Both signal enhancement and suppression were observed, depending on a pesticide, therefore standard addition method was used for pesticides determination. The developed method was applied on real water samples taken in close vicinity of agricultural fields. Many of the targeted pesticides were found in the samples and the results are presented in this article.  相似文献

A novel l‐ phenylalanine molecularly imprinted solid‐phase extraction sorbent was synthesized by the combination of Pickering emulsion polymerization and ion‐pair dummy template imprinting. Compared to other polymerization methods, the molecularly imprinted polymers thus prepared exhibit a high specific surface, large pore diameter, and appropriate particle size. The key parameters for solid‐phase extraction were optimized, and the result indicated that the molecularly imprinted polymer thus prepared exhibits a good recovery of 98.9% for l‐ phenylalanine. Under the optimized conditions of the procedure, an analytical method for l‐ phenylalanine was well established. By comparing the performance of the molecularly imprinted polymer and a commercial reverse‐phase silica gel, the obtained molecularly imprinted polymer as an solid‐phase extraction sorbent is more suitable, exhibiting high precision (relative standard deviation 3.2%, n = 4) and a low limit of detection (60.0 ± 1.9 nmol·L?1) for the isolation of l‐ phenylalanine. Based on these results, the combination of the Pickering emulsion polymerization and ion‐pair dummy template imprinting is effective for preparing selective solid‐phase extraction sorbents for the separation of amino acids and organic acids from complex biological samples.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this work, a novel layered sorbent for microextraction by packed sorbent (MEPS) was introduced, which has been prepared by coating graphene oxide/polyamide (GO/PA) nanocomposite (NC) onto cellulose paper through solvent exchange method. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was applied to investigate the surface characteristic and morphology of PA and GO/PA NC coated on cellulose paper. The prepared MEPS device was used for extraction of organophosphorous pesticides (OPPs) including chlorpyrifos, fenthion, fenithrothion, ethion, edifenphos and phosalone in environmental aqueous samples followed by detection using gas chromatography-flame ionisation detector (GC-FID). Important parameters affecting the MEPS method including pH of sample solution, extraction draw-discard cycles, sorbent layers, desorption solvent volume and desorption draw-eject number were studied and optimised using central composite design (CCD). Based on the method validation, limits of detection (LODs) were in the range of 0.2–1 µg L?1. The calibration graphs for chlorpyrifos, fenthion and edifenphos are linear in the concentration range of 1 to 500 µg L?1; for ethion and phosalone are linear in the range of 1–1000 µg L?1 and for fenithrothion is linear in the range of 3–1000 µg L?1. The method precision (RSD %) with six replicates determinations was in the range of 3 to 9.4 % and 3.9 to 11.9% for distilled water and spiked river water sample, respectively, at the concentration level of 300 µg L?1 . The developed method was applied successfully to determine OPP compounds in river, dam and tap water samples; accordingly, the relative recoveries (RR%) were obtained in the range of 77.8 to 113.3%.  相似文献

Dithiocarbamate modified polyurethane foam (DTC-PUF) was synthesized as a new solid-phase extraction sorbent for the preconcentration and determination of Fe(II), Mn(II) and Cu(II) in environmental samples using flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Maximum extraction of the elements was achieved at pH 5–7 and flow rate 3 mL min?1. Quantitative desorption was achieved by 10 mL from 1.0 mol L?1 HCl solution. The capacity of the sorbent was 149.2 ± 0.5, 237.5 ± 0.2, 200.2 ± 0.1 μg g?1 and the limit of detection was of 0.015, 0.015 and 0.012 μg mL?1for Fe(II), Mn(II) and Cu(II), respectively. A preconcentration factor of 100 was obtained for all elements. The developed method was successfully applied to the determination of the tested elements in water (tap and lake) and plant (spinach and parsley leaves) samples and showed good recovery values from 98 to 111% with corresponding RSD values ranged from 0.6 to 8.6%.  相似文献

A new method using a column packed with graphene as adsorbent was developed for the preconcentration of trace amounts of cobalt (Co) and nickel (Ni) prior to their determinations by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Several factors influencing the extraction efficiency of Co and Ni and their subsequent determinations, such as pH, amounts of the chelating agent, flow rates of sample and eluent solution, eluent type and its volume, breakthrough volume, and adsorption capacity were established. Under the optimum conditions, the calibration graphs were linear in the range of 4.0‐200.0 μg L?1 and 5.0‐200.0 μg L?1 with detection limits of 0.36 μg L?1 and 0.51 μg L?1 for Co and Ni, respectively. Good relative standard deviations for ten determinations of 100.0 μg L?1 of Co and Ni were 3.2 and 3.6%, respectively. The results for determination of Co and Ni in tap water, river water, sea water, vegetable and spiked samples have demonstrated the accuracy and applicability of the proposed method. To validate the proposed method, three certified reference materials of environment water (GSBZ 50030‐94 and GSB 07‐1186‐2000) and tomato leaf (GSBZ 51001‐94) were analyzed, and the determined values were in good agreement with the certified values.  相似文献

Dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) technique was successfully used as a sample preparation method for graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GF AAS). In this extraction method, 500 μL methanol (disperser solvent) containing 34 μL carbon tetrachloride (extraction solvent) and 0.00010 g Salen(N,N′‐bis(salicylidene)ethylenediamine) (chelating agent) was rapidly injected by syringe into the water sample containing cadmium ions (interest analyte). Thereby, a cloudy solution formed. The cloudy state resulted from the formation of fine droplets of carbon tetrachloride, which have been dispersed, in bulk aqueous sample. At this stage, cadmium reacts with Salen(N,N′‐bis(salicylidene)‐ethylenediamine), and therefore, hydrophobic complex forms which is extracted into the fine droplets of carbon tetrachloride. After centrifugation (2 min at 5000 rpm), these droplets were sedimented at the bottom of the conical test tube (25 ± 1 μL). Then a 20 μL of sedimented phase containing enriched analyte was determined by GF AAS. Some effective parameters on extraction and complex formation, such as extraction and disperser solvent type and their volume, extraction time, salt effect, pH and concentration of the chelating agent have been optimized. Under the optimum conditions, the enrichment factor 122 was obtained from only 5.00 mL of water sample. The calibration graph was linear in the range of 2‐21 ng L?1 with a detection limit of 0.5 ng L?1. The relative standard deviation (R.S.D.s) for ten replicate measurements of 20 ng L?1 of cadmium was 2.9%. The relative recoveries of cadmium in tap, sea and rain water samples at a spiking level of 5 and 10 ng L?1 are 99, 94, 97 and 96%, respectively. The characteristics of the proposed method have been compared with cloud point extraction (CPE), on‐line liquid‐liquid extraction, single drop microextraction (SDME), on‐line solid phase extraction (SPE) and co‐precipitation based on bibliographic data. Therefore, DLLME combined with GF AAS is a very simple, rapid and sensitive method, which requires low volume of sample (5.00 mL).  相似文献

In this paper we describe the synthesis, characterisation and use of two distinct molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) prepared using esters of p-hydroxybenzoic acid (parabens) as templates: one MIP was synthesised by precipitation polymerisation using a semi-covalent molecularly imprinting strategy with methyl paraben as the template/target (MIP 1); the second MIP was prepared in monolithic form through a conventional non-covalent molecular imprinting strategy, with butyl paraben as the template (MIP 2). MIP 1 recognized methyl paraben, showed cross-selectivity for other parabens analytes used in the study and higher affinity towards these compounds than did a non-imprinted control polymer. Similarly, MIP 2 demonstrated higher affinity towards paraben analytes than a non-imprinted control polymer. For the analysis of environmental water samples, a solid-phase extraction (SPE) protocol was developed using MIP 2 as sorbent, and results were compared to a SPE using a commercial sorbent (Oasis HLB). With MIP 2 as sorbent and butyl paraben as target, when percolating 500 mL of river water spiked at 1 μg L−1 through the SPE cartridge, and using 1 mL of isopropanol as cleaning solvent, a higher recovery of butyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (butyl paraben) and a cleaner chromatogram where achievable when using the MIP compared to the commercial sorbent.  相似文献

Detailed below is a simple reversed-phase liquid chromatography (RP-LC) method for the simultaneous separation of up to 21 acidic, basic, and neutral pharmaceuticals using Merck Chromolith Performance RP-C18e monolithic columns with direct ultraviolet (UV) absorption detection. By simultaneously applying a solvent elution gradient program with a mobile phase flow gradient, both a decrease in the overall analysis time and a general increase in peak efficiencies were observed. Mobile phase pH and buffer concentration were optimised using the overall resolution product under applied gradient conditions. Under optimised conditions peak area reproducibility (n?=?6) ranged between 0.4 and 9.3%, determined at the method LOQ level. For real sample analysis pharmaceutical residues were extracted using an optimised solid phase extraction (SPE) procedure, utilising Strata-X extraction cartridges, which overall provided the highest relative recovery data in comparison with four other commercially available SPE sorbents (17 out of 20 residues investigated had recoveries over 70%). Complete method precision, including all sample pre-treatment and LC analysis for six spiked river water samples at the 1 and 2?µg?L?1 level was between 10 and 29%. Using 1?L volumes of 1?µg?L?1 spiked estuarine water samples, the majority of detection limits were found to be in the 10–50?ng?L?1 range.  相似文献

Metal‐organic frameworks, a new class of materials with high surface area and great porosity, have been widely applied in gas sorption. It is generally known that metal‐organic framework 5 cannot be applied in aqueous phase since it is water sensitive. However, this work reveals that the derived material of metal‐organic framework 5 is a good SPE sorbent that can be applied to aqueous phases. Metal‐organic framework 5 was prepared and used as a SPE sorbent for the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in environmental matrices coupling with HPLC. The water treatment induced changes in the properties were investigated in detail. Even though metal‐organic framework 5 is conversed to a second phase after water treatment, it still shows high extraction ability. Under the optimized experimental conditions, good sensitivity levels were achieved with low LODs ranging from 0.4 to 4.0 ng L?1 and a linearity of 0.004–20 μg L?1 (R2 > 0.996) for the investigated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. The method has been validated in the analysis of real water samples with recoveries in the range of 80.2–120.2% and RSDs in the range of 0.5–11.7%.  相似文献

The loading behavior of gatifloxacin (GTFX) in human urine and lake water on a novel magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer used as extraction sorbent with UV‐Visible spectrometric analysis has been studied. The magnetic polymers had been prepared using GTFX as template molecule and Fe3O4 as magnetic component. The polymer had been characterized by SEM, Fourier‐transform infrared spectrometry, and appropriate magnet separator. Parameters affecting the extraction efficiency were evaluated in order to achieve optimal loading and reduce nonspecific interactions. Good linearity of the method had been obtained in the range between 0.25 and 15 μg mL?1 by UV‐Vis spectrophotometry at 286 nm with spectral analysis from 240 to 400 nm. The method detection and quantification limits of GTFX in water were 0.075 and 0.25 μg mL?1, respectively. This study showed good selectivity and loading efficiency (α > 2) of the polymers. The loading behavior of GTFX in the samples spiked on polymers had been obtained and each other with recovery higher than 91% with RSD% between 2.5 and 3.3. No pretreatment of samples were needed and no interference of compounds in urine and lake water were observed during adsorption.  相似文献

Multiwalled carbon nanotubes were used as solid phase extraction (SPE) adsorbent for the determination of four chloroacetanilide herbicides (alachlor, acetochlor, metolachlor and butachlor) in water. The primary factors that influence the efficiency of the SPE performance, such as the amount of the adsorbent, the eluent solvent, the pH and the sample volume, were investigated and optimized. Under optimized conditions, the recoveries of the four herbicides at three spike levels were in the range 76.7–104.4%, and the RSDs ranged from 2.5–12.7%. Good linearity was obtained for the pesticides in the concentration range 0.0025–2.5 mg L?1, and the detection limits were 0.01–0.03 μg L?1 at signal-to-noise ratios of 3:1. The method was successfully applied to the determination of these analytes in tap water and river water.  相似文献

In this paper, a new ionic‐liquid‐functionalized magnetic material was prepared based on the immobilization of an ionic liquid on silica magnetic particles that could be successfully used as an adsorbent for the magnetic SPE of five sulfonylurea herbicides (bensulfuron‐methyl, prosulfuron, pyrazosulfuron‐ethyl, chlorimuron‐ethyl and triflusulfuron‐methyl) from environmental water samples. The main parameters affecting the extraction efficiency such as desorption conditions, sample pH, extraction time and so on, were optimized using the Taguchi method. Good linearities were obtained with correlation coefficients ranging from 0.9992 to 0.9999 in the concentration range of 0.1–50 μg L?1 and the LODs were 0.053–0.091 μg L?1. Under the optimum conditions, the enrichment factors of the method were 1155–1380 and the recoveries ranged from 77.8 to 104.4%. The proposed method was reliable and could be applied to the residue analysis of sulfonylurea herbicides in environmental water samples (tap, reservoir and river).  相似文献
