Cobalt(II) and copper(II) complexes with three dioxime ligands cyclohexylamine-p-tolylglyoxime (L1H2), tert-butyl amine-p-tolylglioxime (L2H2) and sec-butylamine-p-tolylglyoxime (L3H2), have been prepared. The metal to ligand ratios of the complexes were found to be 1?:?2. The Cu(II) complexes of these ligands are proposed to be square planar; the Co(II) complexes are proposed to be octahedral with water molecules as axial ligands. Ligands and complexes are soluble in common solvents such as DMSO, DMF, CHCl3 and C2H5OH. The ligands have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV-VIS, 1H?NMR, 13C?NMR and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV-VIS, magnetic susceptibility measurements, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and electrochemistry. Electrochemical properties of metal complexes show quasi-reversible one-electron redox processes. However, Co(L1H)2 and Cu(L1H)2 complexes show another oxidation peak in the positive region. This single irreversible oxidation peak is caused by the cyclic ring of the ligand. Data also revealed that the electron transfer rates of metal complexes with L1H2 are higher than the other complexes.  相似文献

Transition metal complexes of type M(L)2(H2O)x were synthesized, where L is deprotonated Schiff base 2,4‐dihalo‐6‐(substituted thiazol‐2‐ylimino)methylphenol derived from the condensation of aminothiazole or its derivatives with 2‐hydroxy‐3‐halobenzaldehyde and M = Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+ (x = 0 for Cu2+ and Zn2+; x = 2 for Co2+ and Ni2+). The synthesized Schiff bases and their metal complexes were thoroughly characterized using infrared, 1H NMR, electronic and electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopies, elemental analysis, molar conductance and magnetic susceptibility measurements, thermogravimetric analysis and scanning electron microscopy. The results reveal that the bidentate ligands form complexes having octahedral geometry around Co2+ and Ni2+ metal ions while the geometry around Cu2+ and Zn2+ metal ions is four‐coordinated. The geometries of newly synthesized Schiff bases and their metal complexes were fully optimized in Gaussian 09 using 6–31 + g(d,p) basis set. Fluorescence quenching data reveal that Zn(II) and Cu(II) complexes bind more strongly to bovine serum albumin in comparison to Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes. The ligands and their complexes were evaluated for in vitro antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 (Gram negative) and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213 (Gram positive) and cytotoxicity against lever hepatocellular cell line HepG2.  相似文献

Six new macrocyclic complexes were synthesized by a template reaction of 1,4-bis(2-formylphenoxy)butane with diamines and Cu(NO3)2·3H2O and their structures were proposed on the basis of elemental analysis, FT-IR, UV-Vis, magnetic susceptibility measurements, molar conductivity measurements and mass spectra. The metal to ligand molar ratios of the Cu(Ⅱ) complexes were found to be 1 : 1. The Cu(Ⅱ) complexes are 1 : 2 electrolytes as shown by their molar conductivities (∧m) in DMF at 10^-3 mol·L^-1. Due to the existence of free ions the Cu(Ⅱ) complexes are electrically conductive. Their configurations were proposed to be probably distorted octahedral.  相似文献

Eight novel Pt(II), Pd(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes with 4’‐substituted terpyridine were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, UV, IR, NMR, electron paramagnetic resonance, high‐resolution mass spectrometry and molar conductivity measurements. The cytotoxicity of these complexes against HL‐60, BGC‐823, KB and Bel‐7402 cell lines was evaluated by MTT assay. All the complexes displayed cytotoxicity with low IC50 values (<20 μm ) and showed selectivity. Complexes 3 , 5 , 7 and 8 exerted 9‐, 5‐, 12‐ and 7‐fold higher cytotoxicity than cisplatin against Bel‐7402 cell line. The cytotoxicity of complexes 3 , 5 , 6 , 7 and 8 was higher than that of cisplatin against BGC‐823 cell line. Complexes 3 , 7 and 8 showed similar cytotoxicity to cisplatin against KB cell line. Complex 7 exhibited higher cytotoxicity than cisplatin against HL‐60 cell line. Among these complexes, complex 7 demonstrated the highest in vitro cytotoxicity, with IC50 values of 1.62, 3.59, 2.28 and 0.63 μm against HL‐60, BGC‐823, Bel‐7402 and KB cells lines, respectively. The results suggest that the cytotoxicity of these complexes is related to the nature of the terminal group of the ligand, the metal center and the leaving groups. Four new copper (II)‐manganese (II) heterobinuclear complexes bridged byN, N'‐bis[2‐(dimethylamino)ethyl)]oxamido dianion (dmoxæ) and end‐capped with 1, 10‐phenanthroline (phen), 5‐methyl‐1, 10‐phenanthroline (Mephen), diaminoethane (en) or 1,3‐di‐aminopropane (pn). respectively, namely, [Cu(dmoxae)MnL2] (CIO4)2 (L=phen, Mephen, en, pn), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, electronic spectral studies, and molar conductivity measurements. The electronic reflectance spectrum indicates the presence of spin exchange‐coupling interaction between bridged copper(II) and manganese (II) ions. The cryomagnetic measurements (4.2‐300 K) of [Cu(dmoxae)Mn(phen)2](CIO4)2 (1) and [Cu(dmoxae)Mn(Mephen)2](CIO4)2(2) complexes demonstrated an antiferromagnetic interaction between the adjacent manganese(II) and copper (II) ions through the oxamido‐bridge within each molecule. On the basis of spin Hamiltonian, H= ‐ 2JS1. S2. the magnetic analysis was carried out for the two complexes and the spin‐coupling constant (J) was evaluated as ?35.9 cm?1 for 1 and ‐ 32.6 cm?1 for 2. The influence of methyl substitutions in the amine groups of the bridging ligand on magnetic interactions between the metal ions of this kind of complexes is also discussed.  相似文献

A bioactive Schiff base HL i.e. 2‐hydroxy‐benzoic acid(3,4‐dihydro‐2H ‐naphthalen‐1‐ylidene)‐hydrazide was synthesized by reacting equimolar amount of salicylic acid hydrazide and 1‐tetralone. Co(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) complexes of ligand HL was synthesized in 1:1 and 1:2 molar ratio of metal to ligand. The structure of the synthesized ligand and metal complexes was established by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility measurements, electronic, IR and EPR spectral techniques. For determining the thermal stability the TGA has been done. In DFT studies the geometries of Schiff bases and metal complexes were fully optimized with respect to the energy using the 6–31 + g(d,p) basis set. Spectral data reveal that ligand behave uninegative tridentate in ML complexes and uninegative bidentate in ML2 complexes. On the basis of characterization octahedral geometry has been assigned for Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes, while tetrahedral for Zn(II) complexes. Antibacterial activity of the synthesized compounds were evaluated against Staphylococcus aureus , Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli , Xanthomonas campestris and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and the results revealed that metal complexes show enhanced activity in comparison to free ligand.  相似文献

A series of homo‐, heterodinuclear and homotrinuclear copper(II) complexes containing a new Schiff base ligand and 1,10‐phenanthroline were synthesized. Based on results of elemental analyses, FTIR, 1H‐ and 13C‐NMR spectra, conductivity measurements and magnetic susceptibility measurements, the complexes had general compositions {[Cu(L)(H2O)M(phen)2](ClO4)2 [M = Cu(II), Mn(II), Co(II)]} and {[Cu3(L)2(H2O)2](ClO4)2}. The metal:L:phen ratio is 2:1:2 for the dinuclear copper(II) complexes and the metal:L ratio was 3:2 for the trinuclear copper(II) complex. The liquid–liquid extraction of various transition metal cations [Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Pb(II), Cd(II), Hg(II)] from the aqueous phase to the organic phase was carried out using the diimine–dioxime ligand. It was concluded that the ligand can effectively be used in solvent extraction of copper(II) from the aqueous phase to the organic phase. Furthermore, catalytic activitiy of the complexes for the disproportionation of hydrogen peroxide was also investigated in the presence of imidazole. Dinuclear copper(II)–manganese(II) complex has some similarity to manganese catalase in structure and activity. The interaction between these complexes and DNA has also been investigated by agarose gel electrophoresis; we found that the homo‐ and heterodinuclear copper complexes can cleave supercoiled pBR322 DNA to nicked and linear forms in the presence of H2O2. A novel route for the synthesis of Cu(II)‐triazolophthalazine complexes using the Cu(II)‐promoted cyclization dehydrogenation reactions of hydrazonophthalazines under reflux was presented. Two hydrazonophthalazines were cyclized to the corresponding triazolophthalazine ligands, 3‐pyridin‐2‐yl‐3,10b‐dihydro‐[1,2,4]triazolo[3,4‐a]phthalazine ( TPP ) and 3‐(3,10b‐dihydro‐[1,2,4]triazolo[3,4‐a]phthalazin‐3‐yl)‐benzoic acid ( TP3COOH ), followed by in situ complexation with Cu(II) yielding six novel Cu(II)‐triazolophthalazine complexes depending on the reaction conditions. The molecular and supramolecular structures of the Cu(II)‐triazolophthalazine complexes were discussed. The metal sites have rectangular pyramidal geometry in the [Cu(TPP)Cl2]2; 1 and [Cu(TP3COOEt)Cl2(H2O)]2; 4 dinuclear complexes, distorted square planar in [Cu(TP3COOMe)2Cl2]; 3 , [Cu(TP3COOH)2Cl2]; 5 and [Cu(TP3COOH)2Cl2]·H2O; 6 and a distorted octahedral in [Cu(TPP)(H2O)2(NO3)2]; 2 . Hirshfeld analysis showed that the O…H, C…H, Cl…H (except TP3COOH and 2 ), N…H and π‐π stacking interactions are the most important intermolecular contacts. The π‐π stacking interactions are the maximum for TP3COOH and complex 6 with net C…C/C…N contacts of 19.4% and 15.4%, respectively. The orbital–orbital interaction energies of the Cu‐N/Cu‐Cl bonds correlated inversely with the corresponding Cu‐N/Cu‐Cl distances, respectively. The charge transfer processes between Cu(II) and ligand groups were also discussed. The charge densities of the Cu(II) centers are reduced to 0.663–0.995 e due to the interactions with the ligand groups coordinating it.  相似文献

Abstract

Four new Schiff-base ligands have been prepared from the condensation of 3-formyl-4-hy-droxy-1,8-naphthyridin-2-one with different diamines and a triamine, H2La-H2Ld. Two series of Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes with the four ligands were also prepared. The ligands and their metal complexes were characterized by chemical analyses, IR, Far-IR, electronic, ESR and mass spectra as well as magnetic measurements and X-ray diffraction patterns.

Different products for Ni(II) and Cu(II) were obtained in similar reactions with the same metal salt, depending on the nature of the ligand. Different geometries were also obtained depending on the counter anion of metal salt. Thus, violet square-planar Cu(II) complexes were obtained with Cu(OAc)2. H2O and green octahedral ones with CuCl2. 2H2O, except the reaction with ligand H2Ld which gave only an octahedral product whether the anion was acetate, chloride or perchlorate. Electronic and ESR spectra were used to differentiate between the two geometries of the Cu(II) complexes. The green octahedral Cu(II) complexes undergo irreversible thermochromism to the violet square-planar complexes except the copper complex of the ligand H2Ld which did not not show any color change and retained its octahedral geometry. Based on the magnetic moments and thermal analyses, only one Ni(II) complex of the Schiffbase ligand H2Lc undergoes reversible thermochromism from green (octahedral) to red (squareplanar). The reverse change of the thermal product (red) to the parent complex (green) proceeded on exposure to atmospheric air for a few minutes. On the other hand, Ni(II) complexes of ligands H2La and H2Lb have stable square-planar geometry and all efforts to add other ligands such as H2O or pyridine to these complexes failed to yield other products. The corresponding Cu(II) complexes were easily transformed to their octahedral geometry by adding H2O or pyridine and heating.  相似文献

Six macrocyclic complexes, were synthesized by reaction of 1,4-bis(2-carboxyaldehyde phenoxy)butane and various amines and their copper(II) perchlorate complexes were synthesized by template effect reaction of 1,4-bis(2-carboxyaldehyde phenoxy)butane, Cu(ClO4)2?·?6H2O and amines. The metal-to-ligand ratios were found to be 1?:?1. Cu(II) metal complexes are 1?:?2 electrolytes as shown by their molar conductivities (ΛM) in DMF (dimethyl formamide) at 10?3?M. The Cu(II) complexes are proposed to be square planar based on elemental analysis, FT–IR, UV–Vis, magnetic susceptibility measurements, molar conductivity measurements, and mass spectra.  相似文献

Ligand bridged polymeric complexes of the type [M(apainh)(H2O)X] where, M=Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II); X=Cl2 or SO4; apainh=acetone p‐amino acetophenone isonicotinoyl hydrazone have been synthesized and characterized. The complexes are stable solids, insoluble in common organic solvents and are non‐electrolytes. Magnetic moments and electronic spectral studies suggest a spin‐free octahedral geometry for all Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) complexes. IR spectra show tridentate nature of the ligand bonding through two >C?N and a >C?O groups. X‐ray powder diffraction parameters for some of the complexes correspond to orthorhombic and tetragonal crystal lattices. Thermal studies (TGA and DTA) of [Mn(apainh)(H2O)SO4] complex show multi‐step decomposition pattern of both an endothermic and exothermic nature. ESR data of Cu(II) chloride complex in solid state show an axial spectra, whereas, Cu(II) sulfate complex is isotropic in nature. The complexes show a significant antifungal activity against a number of pathogenic fungal species and antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas sp. and Clostridium sp. The metal complexes are more active than the ligand.  相似文献

A novel oxazon‐Schiff's base ligand named (E)‐3‐(2‐(4‐(diethylamino)‐2‐hydroxybenzylidene)hydrazineyl)‐2H‐benzo[b][1,4]oxazin‐2‐one (HL) has been synthesized in addition to its nano‐sized divalent and tetravalent Mn (II), Co (II), Ni (II), Cu (II), Zn (II) and Pt (IV) complexes. The structures and geometries of the synthesized compounds have been confirmed using the different analytical and spectroscopic tools such as elemental analysis, uv–vis., IR, HR‐MS, 1H NMR, ESR, TGA, XRD, EDX, TEM, SEM, AFM, magnetic and molar conductivity measurements. The elemental analyses confirm 1 M: 2 L stoichiometry of the type [PtL2].2Cl and [ML2] (M = Mn (II), Co (II), Ni (II), Cu (II) and Zn (II)). The FT‐IR spectral studies illustrated that the ligand bind to the metal ions through the phenolic hydroxy oxygen, azo methine nitrogen carbonyl oxazin oxygen. The spectral tools; UV–Vis, ligand field parameters and ESR in addition to the magnetic moment measurements confirmed octahedral geometry around the metal centres. The absence of coordinated or hydrated water complexes were confirmed by thermal analysis data of the complexes. The electron transfer reactions for the complexes have been studied by cyclic voltammetry. XRD, SEM, TEM, and AFM images confirmed nano‐sized particles and homogeneous distribution over the complex surface. The mode of binding of the complexes with DNA has been performed through electronic absorption titration and viscosity studies. The reaction between the metal complexes and DNA were studied by DNA cleavage. In general, MCF‐7 cell were least sensitive to the tested compounds and all compounds were considerably more toxic to the studied cancer cell lines than to the normal cell line HepG‐2. The binding mode of the compounds and DNA was preferably via intercalation. In addition, these results were confirmed based on theoretical studies . Finally, a linear and exponential correlation between interaction constant (Kb) and IC50 for two human cancer cell was observed.  相似文献

Cu(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) complexes with the Schiff base derived from 1,2-bis-(o-aminophenoxy)ethane with salicylaldehyde have been prepared. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic measurements, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, UV, visible and IR spectra as well as conductance measurements. The ligand is coordinated to the central metal as a tetradentate ONNO ligand. The four bonding sites are the central azomethine nitrogen and aldehydic OH groups. The ligand was used for complexation studies. Stability constants were measured by a conductometric method. Furthermore, the stability constants for complexation between ZnCl2 and Cu(NO3)2 salts and N,N′-bis(salicylidene)-1,2-bis-(o-aminophenoxy)ethane (H2L) in 80% dioxane/water and pure methanol were determined from conductance measurements. The magnitudes of these ion association constants are related to the nature of the solvation of the cation and the complexed cation. The mobilities of the complexes are also dependent, in part, upon solvation effects.  相似文献

A new dual‐functional Cu(II) complex and its nanohybrid form encapsulated into NaY zeolite cavities were synthesized. The synthesized compounds were characterized using elemental analyses, X‐ray fluorescence, infrared, 1H NMR, electronic, electron spin resonance and mass spectra, powder X‐ray diffraction, surface area and transmission electron microscopy in addition to conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The encapsulated Cu(II) complex was catalytically tested for degradation of industrial wastewater. The decolorization and mineralization results indicate that the Cu(II) complex encapsulated into zeolite host is an effective heterogeneous catalyst for real industrial wastewater remediation. In addition, both free and encapsulated Cu(II) complexes were tested as anti‐microbial and anti‐tumour agents. The results show that the Cu(II) complex encapsulated into zeolite has a high activity (IC50 = 14.4 μg ml?1). The results of in vivo toxicity experiments indicate that the Cu(II) complex encapsulated into zeolite is a less toxic biocompatible material (LD50 = 1245 mg kg?1). The catalytic properties, cytotoxicity and toxicity of the new nanohybrid Cu(II) complex encapsulated into zeolite make it a promising eco‐friendly and biocompatible material for water remediation and biomedical applications.  相似文献

Four new complexes of [Cu(bpm)(ox)(H2O)] ( 1 ), [Cu(tpd)(dca)(H2O)] ( 2 ), [Cu(bppz)(N3)2] ( 3 ), and [Cu(bpm)21,3‐N3)(N3)] ( 4 ) (bpm = 2,2′‐bipyrimidine, bppz = 2,3‐bis(2‐pyridyl)pyrazine, tpd = 4‐terpyridone, dca = dicyanamide, ox = oxalate) have been prepared and characterized by X‐ray single‐crystal analysis and variable‐temperature magnetic measurements. Compounds 1–4 are essentially mononuclear Cu(II) complexes. However, in complex 1 , Cu(II) it was found that intermolecular hydrogen bonding through between H2O and ox formed 1‐D chain structure. In complex 2 it was found that the hydrogen bonding between H2O and tpd of the next molecule led to for a binuclear Cu(II) complex. In complex 3 , two nitrogen atoms, one of the pyridyl group of bppz and one of N3? ligands, are weakly coordinated to neighbor Cu(II) ion thus leading to formation of a 1‐D chain structure. In complex 4 , one nitrogen atom of terminated N3? is weakly coordinated to the neighbor Cu(II) site to form a 1‐D polymeric structure. The magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate that complex 1 and 4 exhibit a weak antiferromagnetic interaction whereas a ferromagnetic coupling has been established for complexes 2 and 3 .  相似文献

A fluorescent aminoacid was designed for selective and sensitive detection of Cu(II) in aqueous solution. The designing of this Cu(II) fluorescent chemosensing molecule, N ± (1‐naphthyl). aminoacetic acid (NAA), was based on the binding of Cu(II) to aminoacetic acid and the novel charge transfer photophysics of 1‐aminonaphthalenes. The fluorescence of NAA was found quenched by Cu (II) and several other metal ions of similar electronic structure such as Co(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II). The quenching was shown to occur via electron transfer within the metal‐NAA complex, which required an optimal combination of high binding affinity and favorable redox properties of the components in the metal‐NAA complex and hence afforded selective fluorometric detection of Cu(II). The calibration graph obeyed Stern‐Volmer theory and was shown for Cu(II) over the range of 0–2.75 ± 10–4 mol/L. The quenching constant of Cu(II) was measured as 8.0 ± 103 mol/L that was two orders of magnitude higher than those of Co(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II). The 3SD limit of detection for Cu(II) was 8.00 ± 10?6 mol/L with a coefficient of variation of 1.65%. Linear range for quantitative detection of Cu(II) was 2.67 ± 10?5‐2.75 ± 10?4 mol/L. The method was applied to synthetic sample measurements which gave recoveries of 105%‐112%.  相似文献

Symmetrical bis (7-formyanil substituted-8-hydroxyquinoline-5-sulfonic acid), Schiff bases, react with Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) ions to give MnL (n=1, 2) complexes as established by conductometric titration in 1 : 1 DMF: H2O. The complexes were identified by elemental analyses, molecular weight determination, thermal analysis, infrared, magnetic moments, electronic absorption, and electron spin resonance spectra. The suggested general geometry for these complexes may have a tetrahedral crystal structure and the general formula is [M2L(OH24], where M(II) = Co, Ni and Cu and L = 7―X―H2 L(―X―= dimethyl, p-phenyl, o-phenyl), while for the, trimethyl, ligand and the tetrahedral crystal structure has the general formula [M2L(OH2)2].Antimicrobial activity of these ligands and their transition metal complexes has been investigated on some common fungi and bacteria. A considerable increase in the biocide acticity of these ligands has been observed on coordination with transition metal ions, therefore, these complexes can be used in the chemotherapy of candidiaces and other fungal skin diseases.  相似文献

Microanalytical data, elemental analysis, magnetic measurements, lH NMR, 13C NMR, UV-visible and IR spectra as well as conductance measurements were used to confirm the structures. In all complexes, H2L behaves as a tetradentate. The article is published in the original.  相似文献

A series of copper(II) complexes were synthesized by the reaction of copper(II) chlorid with 1‐phenyl‐3methyl‐(3‐dervitives phenylhydrazo)‐5‐pyrazolone (HLn) yields 1:1 and 1:2 (M:L) complexes depending on the reaction conditions. The elemental analysis, spectral (IR, 1H NMR, UV‐Vis and ESR), conductance and magnetic measurements were used to characterize the isolated complexes. The IR spectral data indicate that the metal ions are coordinated through the oxygen of the keto and nitrogen of hydrazone groups. The UV‐Vis spectra, magnetic moments and ESR studies indicate square planar geometry for Cu(II) complexes ( 1–3 ) by NO monobasic bidentate and the two monobasic trans bidentate in octahedral geometry for Cu(II) complexes ( 4–6 ). It is found that the change of substituent affects the theoretical calculations of Cu(II) complexes. Molecular docking was used to predict the binding between the ligands (HLn) and the receptors of prostate cancer mutant (2Q7K), breast cancer mutant (3HB5), crystal structure of E. coli (3T88) and crystal structure of S. aureus (3Q8U). The molecular and electronic structures of Cu(II) complexes and quantum chemical calculations were studied. According to intramolecular hydrogen bond leads to increasing of the complexes stability.  相似文献
