Existence Results for a Class of Periodic Evolution Variational Inequalities

In this paper,using the Brouwer topological degree,the authors prove an existence result for finite variational inequalities.This approach is also used to obtain the existence of periodic solutions for a class of evolution variational inequalities.     

Existence results of semilinear differential variational inequalities without compactness

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this paper is to study a class of semilinear differential variational systems with nonlocal boundary conditions, which are obtained by mixing semilinear evolution equations and generalized variational inequalities. First we prove essential properties of the solution set for generalized variational inequalities. Then without requiring any compactness condition for the evolution operator or for the nonlinear term, two existence results for mild solutions are established by applying a weak topology technique combined with a fixed point theorem.     

Existence and nonexistence results for reaction-diffusion equations in product of cones

Problems of existence and nonexistence of global nontrivial solutions to quasilinear evolution differential inequalities in a product of cones are investigated. The proofs of the nonexistence results are based on the test-function method developed, for the case of the whole space, by Mitidieri, Pohozaev, Tesei and Véron. The existence result is established using the method of supersolutions.

On the approximate controllability for fractional evolution hemivariational inequalities

In this paper, we focus on the approximate controllability of control systems described by a large class of fractional evolution hemivariational inequalities. Firstly, we introduce the concept of mild solutions and present the existence of mild solutions for this kind of problems. Next, we show the approximate controllability of the corresponding linear control system. Finally, the approximate controllability of the fractional evolution hemivariational inequalities is formulated and proved under some appropriate conditions. Solvability and optimal controls for semilinear fractional evolution hemivariational inequalities

This paper is concerned with the control systems of semilinear fractional evolution hemivariational inequalities and their optimal controls in Banach space. Firstly, the existence of mild solutions is obtained and proved mainly by using a well‐known fixed point theorem of multivalued maps and the properties of generalized Clarke subdifferential. Then, by applying generally mild conditions of cost functionals, we investigate the existence results of the optimal controls for fractional differential evolution hemivariational inequalities. Variational inequalities in magneto-hydrodynamics

We study subdifferential initial boundary-value problems for the magneto-hydrodynamics (MHD) equations of a viscous incompressible liquid. We construct a solvability theory for an abstract evolution inequality in Hilbert space for operators with quadratic nonlinearity. The results obtained are applied to the study of MHD flows. For three-dimensional flows, we prove the existence of weak solutions of variational inequalities “globally” with respect to time, while, for two-dimensional flows, we establish the existence and uniqueness of strong solutions.     

On the instantaneous blow-up of solutions of some quasilinear evolution problems

We study the existence of time-local solutions of higher-order quasilinear evolution partial differential equations and inequalities with singular coefficients and initial conditions. We obtain sufficient conditions for the instantaneous blow-up of solutions and estimate their lifespan. We show that the results cannot be improved in the function class considered.     

Generalized evolution variational inequalities and their applications to partial differential equations

We study the existence of solutions to generalized evolution vari ational inequalities by pseudomonotone mapping theory. We obtain results which generalize and extend previously known theorems. We then apply our results to parabolic partial differential equations with discontinuous nonlinearities.     

Equilibrium problems techniques in the qualitative analysis of quasi-hemivariational inequalities

In this paper, we investigate the problem of existence of solutions of quasi-hemivariational inequalities. Some concepts of semicontinuity and hemicontinuity on subsets for functions as well as for set-valued mappings are developed and applied for solving quasi-hemivariational inequalities. Generalizations of some old results on the existence of solutions of equilibrium problems are obtained and applications to quasi-hemivariational inequalities are derived.

On temporal decay estimates for the compressible nematic liquid crystal flow in

We use a general energy method recently developed by [Guo Y, Wang Y. Decay of dissipative equations and negative sobolev spaces. Commun. Partial Differ. Equ. 2012;37:2165–2208.] to prove the global existence and temporal decay rates of solutions to the three-dimensional compressible nematic liquid crystal flow in the whole space. In particular, the negative Sobolev norms of solutions are shown to be preserved along time evolution, and then the optimal decay rates of the higher order spatial derivatives of solutions are obtained by energy estimates and the interpolation inequalities.     

Generalized Vector Variational and Quasi-Variational Inequalities with Operator Solutions

In a recent paper, Domokos and Kolumbán introduced variational inequalities with operator solutions to provide a suitable unified approach to several kinds of variational inequality and vector variational inequality in Banach spaces. Inspired by their work, in this paper, we further develop the new scheme of vector variational inequalities with operator solutions from the single-valued case into the multi-valued one. We prove the existence of solutions of generalized vector variational inequalities with operator solutions and generalized quasi-vector variational inequalities with operator solutions. Some applications to generalized vector variational inequalities and generalized quasi-vector variational inequalities in a normed space are also provided.     

On the Minimal Solutions of Variational Inequalities in Orlicz-Sobolev Spaces

In this paper, the author studies the existence of the minimal nonnegative solutions of some elliptic variational inequalities in Orlicz-Sobolev spaces on bounded or unbounded domains. She gets some comparison results between different solutions as tools to pass to the limit in the problems and to show the existence of the minimal solutions of the variational inequalities on bounded domains or unbounded domains. In both cases,coercive and noncoercive operators are handled. The sufficient and necessary conditions for the existence of the minimal nonnegative solution of the noncoercive variational inequality on bounded domains are established.     

Existence of solutions of certain systems of non-linear inequalities

In recent years there has been increasing interest in the problem of the existence of solutions to systems of linear inequalities, however little has been done in the general case of non-linear inequalities. In this paper a certain class of non-linear inequalities is considered. Several existence theorems are established which generalize certain recent results in linear inequalities.     

A variational inequality index for condensing maps in Hilbert spaces and applications to semilinear elliptic inequalities

A variational inequality index for γ-condensing maps is established in Hilbert spaces. New results on existence of nonzero positive solutions of variational inequalities for such maps are proved by using the theory of variational inequality index. Applications of such a theory are given to existence of nonzero positive weak solutions for semilinear second order elliptic inequalities, where previous results of variational inequalities for S-contractive maps cannot be applied.     

Feedback control systems governed by evolution equations

ABSTRACT

The goal of this paper is to provide systematic approaches to study the feedback control systems governed by evolution equations in separable reflexive Banach spaces. We firstly give some existence results of mild solutions for the equations by applying the Banach's fixed point theorem and the Leray–Schauder alternative fixed point theorem with Lipschitz conditions and some types of boundedness conditions. Next, by using the Filippove theorem and the Cesari property, a new set of sufficient assumptions are formulated to guarantee the existence of feasible pairs for the feedback control systems. Some existence results for an optimal control problem are given. Finally, we apply our main result to obtain a controllability result for semilinear evolution equations and existence results for a class of differential variational inequalities and Clarke's subdifferential inclusions.     

A New Existence Theorem of Maximal Elements in Non-Compact H-Spaces with Applications to Minimax Inequalities and Variational Inequalities

We give a new existence theorem of maximal elements in non-compact H-spaces. As applications, two extended versions of Fan-Yen minimax inequality are obtained and the existence problems of solutions of variational inequalities and quasi-variational inequalities are studied.     

A Class of Differential Vector Variational Inequalities in Finite Dimensional Spaces

In this paper, we introduce and study a class of differential vector variational inequalities in finite dimensional Euclidean spaces. We establish a relationship between differential vector variational inequalities and differential scalar variational inequalities. Under various conditions, we obtain the existence and linear growth of solutions to the scalar variational inequalities. In particular we prove existence theorems for Carathéodory weak solutions of the differential vector variational inequalities. Furthermore, we give a convergence result on Euler time-dependent procedure for solving the initial-value differential vector variational inequalities.     

Existence results for evolution hemivariational inequalities of second order

In this paper, we consider evolution hemivariational inequalities of second order with a time-dependent pseudomonotone operator and nonmonotone multivalued perturbations. We present the existence of solutions for such inequality. The proof profits from a result on the surjectivity of operators of pseudomonotone type. We discuss some examples which indicate the practical importance of our theoretical findings.
