A simple, rapid and highly sensitive method for simultaneous analysis of methamphetamine (MA) and 3,4-methylenedioxy methamphetamine (MDMA) in human serum was developed using the solid-phase microextraction (SPME) combined with ion mobility spectrometry (IMS). A dodecylsulfate-doped polypyrrole (PPy-DS) was applied as a new fiber for SPME. Electrochemically polymerized PPy is formed on the surface of a platinum wire and will contain charge-compensating anion (dodecylsulfate) incorporated during synthesis using cyclic voltammetry (CV) technique. The extraction properties of the fiber to MA and MDMA were examined, using a headspace-SPME (HS-SPME) device and thermal desorption in injection port of IMS. The results show that PPy-DS as a SPME fiber coating is suitable for the successful extraction of these compounds. This method is suitable for the identification and determination of MAs, is not time-consuming, requires small quantities of sample and does not require any derivatization. Parameters like pH, extraction time, ionic strength, and temperature of the sample were studied and optimized to obtain the best extraction results. The HS-SPME-IMS method provided good repeatability (RSDs<7.8 %) for spiked serum samples. The calibration graphs were linear in the range of 20-4000 ng ml(-1) (R(2)>0.99) and detection limits for MDMA and MA were 5 and 8 ng ml(-1), respectively. HS-SPME-IMS of non-spiked serum sample provided a spectrum without any peak from the matrix, supporting an effective sample clean-up. Finally, the proposed method was applied for analysis one of the ecstasy tablet.  相似文献

A new generation of solid-phase microextraction (SPME) fiber, an internally cooled fiber (cold fiber with polydimethylsiloxane loading) that allows heating the sample matrix and simultaneously cooling the fiber coating, was used to determine 2,4-dichloroanisole, 2,6-dichloroanisole, 2,4,6-trichloroanisole and pentachloroanisole in cork. A comparison between the cold fiber and regular SPME fiber was performed. An automated headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) using commercial fibers and an internally cooled SPME fiber (CF-HS-SPME) coupled to gas chromatography-time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC-TOF-MS) was used. The extraction conditions for both CF-HS-SPME and HS-SPME were optimized using full factorial design and Doehlert matrix. The best extraction conditions for CF-HS-SPME were obtained using 10 min of incubation time, 10 min of extraction time, and sample and fiber temperature of 130 and 10 degrees C, respectively. For HS-SPME, polydimethylsiloxane/divinylbenzene (PDMS/DVB) fiber was used with 10 min of incubation time, 75 min of extraction time, 85 degrees C of sample temperature, 8 ml of water was added and agitated at 500 rpm. The quantification limits for the target compounds using CF-HS-SPME procedure were between 0.8 and 1.6 ng g(-1) of cork, while for HS-SPME were between 4 and 6 ng g(-1) of cork. Furthermore, the CF-HS-SPME procedure could be used as a non-destructive method after minor modification of the agitator for the autosampler.  相似文献

A fiber coating from polyaniline (PANI) was electrochemically prepared and employed for solid phase microextraction (SPME) of some polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from water samples. The PANI film was directly electrodeposited on the platinum wire surface in sulfuric acid solution using cyclic voltammetry (CV) technique. The applicability of this coating was assessed employing a laboratory-made SPME device and gas chromatography with mass spectrometry (GC-MS) for the extraction of some PAHs from the headspace of aqueous samples. Application of wider potential range in CV led to a PANI with more stability against the temperature. The homogeneity and the porous surface structure of the film were examined by the scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The study revealed that this polymer is a suitable SPME fiber coating for extracting the selected PAHs. Important parameters influencing the extraction process were optimized and an extraction time of 40 min at 40 degrees C gave maximum peak area, when the aqueous sample was added with NaCl (20%, w/v). The synthesis of the PANI can be carried out conveniently and in a reproducible manner while it is rather inexpensive and stable against most of organic solvents. The film thickness of PANI can be precisely controlled by the number of CV cycles. The resulting thickness was roughly 20 microm after 20 cycles. At the optimum conditions, the relative standard deviation (RSD) for a double distilled water spiked with selected PAHs at ppb level were 8.80-16.8% (n = 3) and detection limits for the studied compounds were between 0.1-6 pg mL(-1). The performance of PANI was, also, compared with a commercial solid coated-based SPME fiber, carbowax/divinylbenzene (CW/DVB), under similar experimental conditions.  相似文献

Microwave-assisted thermal desorption (MAD) coupled to headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) has been studied for in-situ, one-step, sample preparation for PAHs collected on XAD-2 adsorbent, before gas chromatography with mass spectrometric detection. The PAHs on XAD-2 were desorbed into the extraction solution, evaporated into the headspace by use of microwave irradiation, and absorbed directly on a solid-phase microextraction fiber in the headspace. After desorption from the SPME fiber in the hot GC injection port, PAHs were analyzed by GC–MS. Conditions affecting extraction efficiency, for example extraction solution, addition of salt, stirring speed, SPME fiber coating, sampling temperature, microwave power and irradiation time, and desorption conditions were investigated. Experimental results indicated that extraction of 275 mg XAD-2, containing 10–200 ng PAHs, with 10-mL ethylene glycol–1 mol L−1 NaCl solution, 7:3, by irradiation with 120 W for 40 min (the same as the extraction time), and collection with a PDMS–DVB fiber at 35 °C, resulted in the best extraction efficiency. Recovery was more than 80% and RSD was less than 14%. Optimum desorption was achieved by heating at 290 °C for 5 min. Detection limits varied from 0.02 to 1.0 ng for different PAHs. A real sample was obtained by using XAD-2 to collect smoke from indoor burning of joss sticks. The amounts of PAHs measured varied from 0.795 to 2.53 ng. The method is a simple and rapid procedure for determination of PAHs on XAD-2 absorbent, and is free from toxic organic solvents.  相似文献

A headspace solid-phase microextraction method (HS-SPME) followed by gas chromatography with mass spectrometric detection (GC/MS) has been developed for the determination of low concentrations of nicotine in hair. Parameters affecting the SPME procedure including type of fiber coating, extraction mode, extraction temperature and time, desorption time, stirring, and salt addition have been evaluated and optimised. The method provided good linearity (r(2)≥0.9980) over the concentration range tested (0.2-20 ng/mg) and low detection limit (0.02 ng/mg). Precision expressed as relative standard deviation was <10%. The average accuracy was 95%. The proposed method was used to determine hair nicotine levels in 100 children in order to assess exposure to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS). The described HS-SPME procedure is fast, simple, sensitive, and solvent-free and is therefore suitable for studies involving ETS exposure assessment.  相似文献

This work is a first study on extraction efficiency and thermal stability of nano-structured self-doped polyaniline (SPAN) as a coating of solid-phase microextraction (SPME) fibers. SPAN-based fibers were prepared using electrochemical deposition on platinum wires. The particle sizes of prepared nano-structure were in the range of 50–100 nm. Extraction properties of the fiber to 1,4-dioxane were examined using headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) coupled to gas chromatography-flame ionization detection (GC-FID). The results have proved higher thermal stability of the proposed fiber compared to common PANI fiber. The SPAN coating was proved to be very stable at relatively high temperatures (up to 350 °C) with high extraction capacity and long lifespan (more than 50 times). Therefore, it can be a good substitute of polyaniline (PANI) as a SPME coating. The extraction procedure was optimized by selecting the appropriate extraction parameters including extraction time, extraction temperature, salt concentration, stirring rate and headspace volume. Calibration graph was linear in the concentration range of 1–100 ng mL−1 (R2 > 0.993) with detection limit of 0.1 ng mL−1. Single fiber and fiber-to-fiber repeatability were lower than 6.0% and 10.4%, respectively. Different water samples were analyzed as real samples and good recoveries (98–120%) were obtained.  相似文献

A new method for the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in waste water using solvent-free solid-phase microextraction (SPME) is described. The PAHs are extracted with a 100 microm polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) fiber, desorbed in 40 microl acetonitrile and measured with LC and fluorescence detection. The detection limits of this very simple method under the given conditions (extraction from 5 ml sample, extraction time 1 h) are in the range of 1-6 ng l(-1). The standard deviations (n = 6) at a concentration level of 0.8 microg l(-1) are between 1.8 and 14.4%. The procedure was used for the determination of PAHs in contaminated water samples.  相似文献

The feasibility of direct-immersion (DI) solid-phase microextraction (SPME) and headspace (HS) SPME for the determination of high-ring polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) (4- to 6-ring PAHs) in water and soil samples is studied. Three SPME fibers--100- and 30-microm polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and 85-microm polyacrylate (PA) fibers-are compared for the effective extraction of PAHs. Parameters affecting the sorption of PAHs into the fiber such as sampling time, sampling volume, and temperature are also evaluated. The extracted amounts of high-ring PAHs decrease with the decreasing of film thickness, and the 100-microm PDMS has the highest extraction efficiency than 85-microm PA and 30-microm PDMS fibers. Also, the extraction efficiency decreases with the increasing molecular weights of PAHs. Of the 10 high-ring PAHs, only fluoranthene and pyrene can reach equilibrium within 120 min at 25 degrees C for DI-SPME in a water sample. Increasing the temperature to 60 degrees C can increase the sensitivity of PAHs and shorten the equilibrium time. A 0.7- to 25-fold increase in peak area is obtained for DI-SPME when the working temperature is increased to 60 degrees C. For HS-SPME, the extraction efficiency of PAHs decrease when the headspace volume of the sampling system increases. All high-ring PAHs can be detected in a water sample by increasing the temperature to 80 degrees C. However, only 4- and 5-ring PAHs can be quantitated in a CRM soil sample when HS-SPME is used. The addition of a surfactant with high hydrophilic property can effectively enhance the sensitivity of high-ring PAHs. HS-SPME as well as DI-SPME with 100-microm PDMS or 85-microm PA fibers are shown to be suitable methods for analyzing high-ring PAHs in a water sample; however, this technique can only apply in a soil sample for PAHs having up to 5 rings.  相似文献

The simultaneous determination of several odorous trichlorobromophenols in water has been carried out by an in-sample derivatization headspace solid-phase microextraction method (HS-SPME).The analytical procedure involved their derivatization to methyl ethers with dimethyl sulfate/NaOH and further HS-SPME and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS) determination. Parameters affecting both the derivatization efficiency and headspace SPME procedures, such as the selection of the SPME fiber coating, derivatization–extraction time and temperature, were studied. The commercially available polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) 100 μm and Carboxen-polydimethylsiloxane-divinylbenzene (CAR-PDMS-DVB) fibers appeared to be the most suitable for the simultaneous determination of these compounds. The precision of the HS-SPME/GC/MS method gave good relative standard deviations (RSDs) run-to-run between 9% and 19% for most of them, except for 2,5-diCl-6-Br-phenol, 2,6-diCl-3-Br-phenol and-2,3,6-triBr-phenol (22%, 25% and 23%, respectively). The method was linear over two orders of magnitude, and detection limits were compound dependent but ranged from 0.22 ng/l to 0.95 ng/l. The results obtained for water samples using the proposed SPME procedure were compared with those found with the EPA 625 method, and good agreement was achieved. Therefore, the in-sample derivatization HS-SPME/GC/MS procedure here proposed is a suitable method for the simultaneous determination of odorous trichlorobromophenols in water.  相似文献

The first study on the high efficiency of nano-structured lead dioxide as a new fiber for solid-phase microextraction (SPME) purposes has been reported. The size of the PbO2 particles was in the range of 34-136 nm. Lead dioxide-based fibers were prepared via electrochemical deposition on a platinum wire. The extraction properties of the fiber to benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) were examined using headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) mode coupled to gas chromatography-flame ionization detection (GC-FID). The results obtained proved the suitability of proposed fibers for the sampling of organic compounds from water. The extraction procedure was optimized by selecting the appropriate extraction parameters, including preparation conditions of coating, salt concentration, time and temperature of adsorption and desorption and stirring rate. The calibration graphs were linear in a concentration range of 0.1-100 microg l(-1) (R2 > 0.994) with detection limits below 0.012 microg l(-1) level. Single fiber repeatability and fiber-to-fiber reproducibility were less than 10.0 and 12.5%, respectively. The PbO2 coating was proved to be very stable at relatively high temperatures (up to 300 degrees C) with a high extraction capacity and long lifespan (more than 50 times). Higher chemical resistance and lower cost are among the advantages of PbO2 fibers over commercially available SPME fibers. Good recoveries (81-108%) were obtained when environmental samples were analyzed.  相似文献

Pretreatment of silica gel sample containing 1-naphthylamine by microwave-assisted desorption (MAD) coupled to in situ headspace solid phase microextraction (HS-SPME) has been investigated as a possible alternative to conventional methods prior to gas chromatographic (GC) analysis. The 1-naphthylamine desorbs from silica gel to headspace under microwave irradiation, and directly absorbs onto a SPME fiber located in a controlled-temperature headspace area. After being collected on the SPME fiber, and desorbed in the GC injection port, 1-naphthylamine is analyzed by GC-FID. Parameters that influence the extraction efficiency of the MAD/HS-SPME, such as the extraction media and its pH, the microwave irradiation power and irradiation time as well as desorption conditions of the GC injector, have been investigated. Experimental results indicate that the extraction of a 150 mg silica gel sample by using 0.8 ml of 1.0 M NaOH solution and a PDMS/DVB fiber under high-powered irradiation (477 W) for 5 min maximizes the extraction efficiency. Desorption of 1-naphthylamine from the SPME fiber in GC injector is optimal at 250 °C held for 3 min. The detection limit of method is 8.30 ng. The detected quantity of 1-naphthylamine obtained by the proposed method is 33.3 times of that obtained by the conventional solvent extraction method for the silica gel sample containing 100 ng of 1-naphthylamine. It provides a simple, fast, sensitive and organic-solvent-free pretreatment procedure prior to the analysis of 1-naphthylamine collected on a silica gel adsorbent.  相似文献

A simple and sensitive method for determining anatoxin-a in aqueous samples was developed using solid-phase microextraction (SPME) and gas chromatography with mass spectrometry (GC-MS) detection. Three forms of polyaniline (PANI) films and a single form of polypyrrole (PPY) film were prepared and applied for SPME. The extraction properties of these films to anatoxin-a were examined and it was shown that leucoemeraldine form of PANI displayed a better selectivity to this compound. SPME conditions were optimized by selecting the appropriate extraction parameters, including type of coating (leucoemeraldine form of PANI at 32 microm thicknesses), salt concentration (10%, w/v), time of extraction (30 min) and stirring rate (1000 rpm). The calibration curve was linear in the range from 50 to 10,000 ng/ml, with the detection limit (S/N = 3) of 11.2 ng/ml. This method was successfully applied for the analysis of anatoxin-a in the cultured media of two species of cyanobacteria.  相似文献

A solid-phase microextraction (SPME) procedure has been developed for the determination of 16 US Environmental Protection Agency promulgated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Five kinds of SPME fibers were used and compared in this study. The extracted sample was analyzed by gas chromatography with flame ionization detection or mass spectrometry. Parameters affecting the sorption of analyte into the fibers, including sampling time, thickness of the fiber coating, and the effect of temperature, have been examined. Moreover, the feasibility of headspace SPME with different working temperatures was evaluated. The method was also applied to real samples. The 85-microm polyacrylate (PA) and 100-microm poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) fibers were shown to have the highest affinities for the selected PAHs. The PA fiber was more suitable than the PDMS fiber for the determination of low-ring PAHs while high sensitivity of high-ring PAHs was observed when a 100-microm PDMS fiber was used. The method showed good linearity between 0.1 and 100 ng/ml with regression coefficients ranging from 0.94 to 0.999. The reproducibility of the measurements between fibers was found to be very good. The precisions of PA and PDMS fibers were from 3 to 24% and from 3 to 14%, respectively. Headspace SPME is a valid alternative for the determination of two- to five-ring PAHs. A working temperature of 60 degrees C provides significant enhancement in sensitivity of two- to five-ring PAHs having low vapor pressures (>10(-6) mmHg at 25 degrees C) (1 mmHg = 133.3 Pa) and low Henry's constants (>10 atm ml/mol) (1 atm = 1.01 x 10(5) Pa).  相似文献

Headspace solid-phase microextraction(HS-SPME) with sol-gel calix[6]arene-containing fiber followed by gas chromatography with a flame ionization detector was used to examine the composition and distribution of seven polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) in water. The novel SPME fiber exhibited higher extraction efficiency to PAHs compared with poly(dimethylsiloxane) and other calixarene-containing fibers. Extraction/retention mechanism based on the interactions between calixarenes and PAHs was discussed. ...  相似文献

The functionalized polymeric ionic liquid poly(1-(4-vinylbenzyl)-3-hexadecylimidazolium bis[(trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl]imide (poly(VBHDIm(+)NTf(2)(-))) has been used as successful coating in solid-phase microextraction (SPME) to determine a group of fourteen endocrine disrupting chemicals (ECDs), including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), alkylphenols, and parabens, in several water samples. The performance of the PIL fiber in direct immersion mode SPME followed by gas chromatography (GC) with flame-ionization detection (FID) is characterized with average relative recoveries higher than 96.1% from deionized waters and higher than 76.7% from drinking bottled waters, with precision values (RSD) lower than 13% for deionized waters and lower than 14% for drinking bottled waters (spiked level of 1 ng mL(-1)), when using an extraction time of 60 min with 20 mL of aqueous sample. Detection limits varied between 9 ng L(-1) and 7 ng mL(-1). A group of real water samples, including drinking waters, well waters, and swimming pool waters, have been analyzed under the optimized conditions. A comparison has also been carried out with the commercial SPME coatings: polydimethylsyloxane (PDMS) 30 μm, and polyacrylate (PA) 85 μm. The functionalized PIL fiber (~12 μm) demonstrated to be superior to both commercial fibers for the overall group of analytes studied, in spite of its lower coating thickness. A normalized sensitivity parameter is proposed as a qualitative tool to compare among fiber materials, being higher for the poly(VBHDIm(+)NTf(2)(-)) coating. Furthermore, the partition coefficients of the studied analytes to the coating materials have been determined. A quantitative comparison among the partition coefficients also demonstrates the superior extraction capability of the functionalized PIL sorbent coating.  相似文献

Determination of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in environmental samples has raised great concerns due to the widespread use of PBDEs and their potential risk to humans. Solid-phase microextraction (SPME) is a fast, simple, cost-effective, and green sample preparation technique and is widely used for environmental analysis, but reports on the application of SPME for determination of PBDEs are very limited, and only a few publications dealing with commercial SPME fibers are available for extraction of PBDEs. Herein, we report a novel SPME method using multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) as the SPME fiber coating for gas chromatography with electron-capture detection (GC-ECD) of PBDEs in environmental samples. The MWCNTs coating gave much higher enhancement factors (616-1756) than poly (5% dibenzene-95% dimethylsiloxane) coating (139-384) and activated carbon coating (193-423). Thirty-minute extraction of 10 mL of sample solution using the MWCNTs coated fiber for GC-ECD determination yielded the limits of detection of 3.6-8.6 ng L(-1) and exhibited good linearity of the calibration functions (r(2)>0.995). The precision (RSD%, n=4) for peak area and retention time at the 500 ng L(-1) level was 6.9-8.8% and 0.6-0.9%, respectively. The developed method was successfully applied for the analysis of real samples including local river water, wastewater, and milk samples. The recovery of the PBDEs at 500 ng L(-1) spiked in these samples ranged from 90 to 119%. No PBDEs were detected in the river water and skimmed milk samples, whereas in the wastewater sample, 134-215 ng L(-1) of PBDEs were found. The PBDEs were detected in all whole fat milk samples, ranging from 13 to 484 ng L(-1). In a semiskimmed milk sample, only BDE-47 was found at 21 ng L(-1).  相似文献

This paper describes a headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) procedure coupled to gas chromatography with mass spectrometric detection (GC–MS) for the determination of eight PAHs in aquatic species. The influence of various parameters on the PAH extraction efficiency was carefully examined. At 75 °C and for an extraction time of 60 min, a polydimethylsiloxane–divinylbenzene (PDMS/DVB) fiber coating was found to be most suitable. Under the optimized conditions, detection limits ranged from 8 to 450 pg g−1, depending on the compound and the sample matrix. The repeatability varied between 7 and 15% (RSD). Accuracy was tested using the NIST SRM 1974b reference material. The method was successfully applied to different samples, and the studied PAHs were detected in several of the samples. A highly porous fiber coating material was prepared and functionalized with 3-amino propyl triethoxysilane (APTES) on hexagonally ordered nanoporous silica (SBA-15). Applicability of this coating was assessed employing a laboratory made solid-phase microextraction (SPME) device and gas chromatography?Cmass spectrometry for the simultaneous sampling and determination of trace polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from aqueous sample solutions. A one at the time optimization strategy was applied to investigate and optimize important extraction parameters such as extraction temperature, extraction time, ionic strength and sonication time. In the optimum conditions, the relative standard deviations for deionized water, spiked with selected PAHs were between 3.3 and 7.7% (n = 3), and detection limits for the studied compounds were 4.2 and 26.1 pg mL?1. No significant change was observed in the extraction efficiency of the new SPME fiber, over 50 extractions. The proposed method was successfully applied to the extraction and determination of PAHs in the waste water samples.  相似文献

A method for the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in marine sediments using microwave-assisted extraction with a micellar medium combined with solid-phase microextraction (SPME) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) has been developed. Two kinds of SPME fibers (100 μm polydimethylsiloxane and 85 μm polyacrylate) and different micellar media were compared for the extraction efficiency of the 16 EPA priority PAHs. The polyacrylate fiber with a micellar medium of polyoxyethylene-10-laurylether provides the highest extraction efficiency. The method is remarkable for presenting lower equilibrium times and considerably higher reproducibilities than the obtained in aqueous medium. The LODs obtained ranged between 0.28 ng/ml for fluorene and 7.66 ng/ml for indeno[1,2,3-cd]pyrene. The method has been applied to the determination of PAHs in a certified marine sediment (SRM 1941a), obtaining recoveries between 58.6 and 111.5% for three- to five-ring PAHs with precision close to or lower than the certified values.  相似文献
