The angular distribution of the polarization of the recoil protons from the reactionγ+p→π 0+p has been measured at a photon energy of 360 MeV and at pion CM angles of 58°, 75°, 96° and 105°. The polarization of the protons has been determined by the left to right ratio in scattering on a helium gas target. The trajectory of each scattered proton has been measured by a system of spark chambers.  相似文献

The method is described of measuring the polarization observables Σ, P and T for the reaction γp → nπ+ in a double polarization experiment (polarized target + polarized beam). The measured angular distribution of these observables are presented for the photon energy range 280–420 MeV at c.m. pion emission angles between 30° and 150°. The obtained experimental data are included in the energy-independent multipole analysis of the reactions γp → Nπ.  相似文献

Differential cross sections for elastic scattering of pions by deuterons have been measured for centre-of-mass angles between 130° and 175°, and at laboratory energies 141, 177, and 260 MeV for π+, and at 151, 185, and 189 MeV for π?. At 177 and 260 MeV the cross sections are a factor of 2 lower than the predictions of three-body theories.  相似文献

The momentum spectra of charged pions produced in the reaction 12C(γ, π±) have been measured for incident photon energies in the interval between 300 and 850 MeV in steps of 50 MeV. Pions with relatively high momenta have been detected by a magnetic spectrometer set at the lab angles 28.4° and 44.2°. All these spectra exhibit a clear singly peaked structure. Detailed features of the structure are quantitatively investigated and compared with a plane-wave impulse-approximation calculation. Calculated results are found to reproduce the spectral shape very well and the absolute magnitude is also rather well fitted by introducing the pion absorption effect properly.  相似文献

Differential cross sections of proton Compton scattering have been measured at the Bonn 2.5 GeV synchrotron. 78 data points are presented as angular distributions at photon lab energies of 700, 750, 800, 850, 900, and 950MeV. The c.m. scattering angle ranges from 40°–130°, corresponding to a variation of the four momentum transfer squared betweent=?0.10 tot=?0.96 GeV2 at 700 and 950 MeV, respectively. Two additional differential cross sections have been measured at 1000MeV, 35.6° and 47.4°. The angular distributions show forward peaks whose extrapolations to 0° are consistent with calculated forward cross sections taken from literature. The small angle data (|t| ?0.2 GeV2) together with the calculated cross sections at 0° are also consistent with the assumption of a slope parameterB of 5 GeV?2. For the first time a rerise of the angular distributions towards backward angles has been observed. It becomes less steep with increasing energy. The most interesting feature of the angular distributions is a sharp structure which appears betweent=?0.55 GeV2 at 700MeV andt=?0.72 GeV2 at 950 MeV. Such a rapid varation of the differential cross section witht has never been ovserved in elastic hadron-hadron scattering or photoproduction processes. It indicates the existence of a dynamical mechanism which could be a peculiarity of Compton scattering.  相似文献

Polarization distributions of ground state neutrons emitted from the14C(d,n 0)15N reaction were investigated over the angular range from 15 ° (lab) to 150 ° (lab) at bombarding energies of 1.28, 1.55 and 1.88 MeV. Scattering of neutrons from helium served as polarization analyzer. The experimental results show a large variation with energy of the polarization ranging betweenPlab=130 °)=?21% andPlab=130 °)=+50% at 1.28 and 1.88 MeV respectively.  相似文献

Differential cross sections for the 7Li(α, n)10B reaction have been measured at lab angles of 0°, 20°, 31°, 50°, 60°, 70°, 80°, 90°, 100° and 114° for α-particle energies between 4.385 and 5.1 MeV. A thick natural lithium target was bombarded with a 5.2 MeV, nanosecond-pulsed 4He+ beam and neutron velocity spectra at each angle were measured by time-of-flight techniques. These data have been converted to cross sections at 10 keV intervals in α-particle energy. Angular distributions have been fitted with a series of Legendre polynomials. Angle-integrated cross sections, the 0° excitation function, and angular distributions are compared to past measurements and R-matrix calculations.  相似文献

Measurement of secondary-proton polarization from the reaction γp → π0p have been performed in the proton energy range 500–800 MeV at c.m. pion emission angles 100°, 120°, 140°. The experiment was carried out using an optical spark chamber telescope at the output of the magnetic spectrometer. The obtained experimental data are included in a Walker-type analysis in order to verify the parameters of the resonances P11(1470), D13(1570) and S11(1535). Proton polarization in the reaction γp → π0p was measured for a photon energy of 450 MeV at a c.m. pion emission angle of 105° using photons linearly polarized at 45° to the reaction plane. A liquid hydrogen target in the field of a superconducting magnet was used for the separation of the Px and Pz components of the secondary-proton polarization vector.Data are obtained for three components (Px, Py, Pz) of the proton polarization. The obtained results are compared with predictions of different multipole analyses of photoproduction.  相似文献

The differential cross section of the reactionγ+p→π + was measured at pion CM-angles of 20° and 30° for photon energies between 500 MeV and 1,400 MeV. The pions were detected in a magnetic spectrometer. By measuring each pion trajectory and by offline calculation of the initial pion parameters an energy resolution of about 2.5% FWHM was achieved. The results complete a set of data which were measured in recent years at the Bonn 2.5 GeV synchrotron. In comparison to photoproduction analyses two effects were revealed: The η cusp appears in the energy dependence of the cross section as a sharp drop atK γ=710 MeV. In the region of the third resonance the data show a greater enhancement than predicted by most of the analyses.  相似文献

Measurements of absolute elastic-scattering differential cross sections for π±He at Tlabπ = 30.2 MeV, 45.1 MeV and 65.0 MeV and for π±-4?4He at Tlabπ = 25.1 MeV and 51.1 MeV have been made in the angular range 40° to 145°. The differential cross section for the reaction d(p, π+)t has been measured for c.m. angles between 37° and 160°, at incident proton energies of 470 and 590 MeV. The results are in qualitative agreement with the predictions of a two-nucleon model of the reaction when the D-state contribution is included, except for the existence of a backward peak at 470 MeV. Other models of the reaction are discussed; none of them gives a rationale for the backward peak at 470 MeV. A similar peak is present in older data at 325 MeV.  相似文献

The photoproduction of neutral pions on12C has been investigated between threshold and 450 MeV photon energy using the tagged photon beam at the Bonn 500 MeV synchrotron and a large acceptance detector. Theπ 0 detector consists of cylindrical wire chambers covering a solid angle of nearly 4π. Using a scintillation counter as an active12C target an attempt was made to separate coherent and incoherentπ 0 photoproduction. The proton Compton effectγ+p→γ+p in theΔ (1232) energy region has been thoroughly studied. At the Bonn 500 MeV synchrotron differential cross sections were measured covering a large range of the CM scattering angle (50°≦θγ≦130°) and an energy range from 240 to 440 MeV (LAB energy of the primary photon). A contribution to the counting rate from the competing process ofπ 0 photoproduction was strongly suppressed by detecting both particles in the final state and by a proper choice of the endpoint energy of the gamma ray beam. The remaining contribution was monitored experimentally. The measured data were complemented by cross sections at 0° which were computed from the totalγ p cross sections with an input from a multipole analysis of single pion photoproduction. Preliminary results of this experiment have been published in Lett. Nuovo Cimento. In the meantime the experimental data were reanalyzed. The final data presented here are larger than the preliminary ones by about 15%.  相似文献

A phase-shift analysis has been performed on 12C(α, α0)12C cross sections which were measured over a broad angular range from 4.0 to 13.3 MeV in 15 to 50 keV increments. In addition to confirming the presence and determining the J, π, Γ, Γα, of the levels at 10.36, 11.50, 11.60, 12.47, 13.10, 13.11, 13.13, 13.25, 13.89, 14.07, 14.6, 14.82, 14.87, 15.47 and 16.30 MeV excitation in the 16O compound system, the results include the observation of a new 0+ level at 15.17 MeV. Definite Jπ values of 4+, 5 and 3 have been assigned for the levels at 14.6, 14.82 and 15.47 MeV respectively. Refined level parameters are given for the 0+ (14.07 MeV) and 6+ (14.87 MeV) levels.  相似文献

Measurements have been made of the polarisation parameters Σ, T and P for the process γp → π+n in the photon energy range 520–2250 MeV at c.m. angles between 30° and 120°. These data were obtained in a double polarisation experiment, using the polarised photon beam from the Daresbury electron synchrotron incident on a polarised proton target.
