In this paper we develop a theory of slice regular functions on a real alternative algebra A. Our approach is based on a well-known Fueter's construction. Two recent function theories can be included in our general theory: the one of slice regular functions of a quaternionic or octonionic variable and the theory of slice monogenic functions of a Clifford variable. Our approach permits to extend the range of these function theories and to obtain new results. In particular, we get a strong form of the fundamental theorem of algebra for an ample class of polynomials with coefficients in A and we prove a Cauchy integral formula for slice functions of class C1.  相似文献

In this paper we study the relation between coefficients of a polynomial over finite field Fq and the moved elements by the mapping that induces the polynomial. The relation is established by a special system of linear equations. Using this relation we give the lower bound on the number of nonzero coefficients of polynomial that depends on the number m of moved elements. Moreover we show that there exist permutation polynomials of special form that achieve this bound when m|q−1. In the other direction, we show that if the number of moved elements is small then there is an recurrence relation among these coefficients. Using these recurrence relations, we improve the lower bound of nonzero coefficients when m?q−1 and . As a byproduct, we show that the moved elements must satisfy certain polynomial equations if the mapping induces a polynomial such that there are only two nonzero coefficients out of 2m consecutive coefficients. Finally we provide an algorithm to compute the coefficients of the polynomial induced by a given mapping with O(q3/2) operations.  相似文献

We consider schemes (X,OX) over an abelian closed symmetric monoidal category (C,⊗,1). Our aim is to extend a theorem of Kleiman on the relative Picard functor to schemes over (C,⊗,1). For this purpose, we also develop some basic theory on quasi-coherent modules on schemes (X,OX) over C.  相似文献

In this paper, the inverse function theorem and the implicit function theorem in a non-Archimedean setting will be discussed. We denote by N any non-Archimedean field extension of the real numbers that is real closed and Cauchy complete in the topology induced by the order; and we study the properties of locally uniformly differentiable functions from Nn to Nm. Then we use that concept of local uniform differentiability to formulate and prove the inverse function theorem for functions from Nn to Nn and the implicit function theorem for functions from Nn to Nm with m<n.  相似文献

We study oscillation in the prefix-free complexity of initial segments of 1-random reals. For upward oscillations, we prove that nω2g(n) diverges iff (n)K(X?n)>n+g(n) for every 1-random Xω2. For downward oscillations, we characterize the functions g such that (n)K(X?n)<n+g(n) for almost every Xω2. The proof of this result uses an improvement of Chaitin's counting theorem—we give a tight upper bound on the number of strings σn2 such that K(σ)<n+K(n)−m.The work on upward oscillations has applications to the K-degrees. Write XK?Y to mean that K(X?n)?K(Y?n)+O(1). The induced structure is called the K-degrees. We prove that there are comparable () 1-random K-degrees. We also prove that every lower cone and some upper cones in the 1-random K-degrees have size continuum.Finally, we show that it is independent of ZFC, even assuming that the Continuum Hypothesis fails, whether all chains of 1-random K-degrees of size less than 02 have a lower bound in the 1-random K-degrees.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the Lagrangian dual problem of a class of convex optimization problems, which originates from multi-stage stochastic convex nonlinear programs. We study the Moreau–Yosida regularization of the Lagrangian-dual function and prove that the regularized function η is piecewise C 2, in addition to the known smoothness property. This property is then used to investigate the semismoothness of the gradient mapping of the regularized function. Finally, we show that the Clarke generalized Jacobian of the gradient mapping is BD-regular under some conditions.   相似文献

Any unitary irreducible representation π of a Lie group G defines a moment set Iπ, subset of the dual g? of the Lie algebra of G. Unfortunately, Iπ does not characterize π. If G is exponential, there exists an overgroup G+ of G, built using real-analytic functions on g?, and extensions π+ of any generic representation π to G+ such that Iπ+ characterizes π.In this paper, we prove that, for many different classes of group G, G admits a quadratic overgroup: such an overgroup is built with the only use of linear and quadratic functions.  相似文献

In this paper, using the group-like property of local inverses of a finite Blaschke product ?, we will show that the largest C?-algebra in the commutant of the multiplication operator M? by ? on the Bergman space is finite dimensional, and its dimension equals the number of connected components of the Riemann surface of ?−1°? over the unit disk. If the order of the Blaschke product ? is less than or equal to eight, then every C?-algebra contained in the commutant of M? is abelian and hence the number of minimal reducing subspaces of M? equals the number of connected components of the Riemann surface of ?−1°? over the unit disk.  相似文献

We can consider the Riemann-Stieltjes integral dg as an integral of a point function f with respect to an interval function g. We could extend it to the Henstock-Stieltjes integral. In this paper, we extend it to a generalized Stieltjes integral dg of a point function f with respect to a function g of divisions of an interval. We prove for abelian varieties a global form of Denef and Loeser?s motivic monodromy conjecture, in arbitrary characteristic. More precisely, we prove that for every tamely ramified abelian variety A over a complete discretely valued field with algebraically closed residue field, its motivic zeta function has a unique pole at Chai?s base change conductor c(A) of A, and that the order of this pole equals one plus the potential toric rank of A. Moreover, we show that for every embedding of Q? in C, the value exp(2πic(A)) is an ?-adic tame monodromy eigenvalue of A. The main tool in the paper is Edixhoven?s filtration on the special fiber of the Néron model of A, which measures the behavior of the Néron model under tame base change.  相似文献

Clustering is the problem of partitioning data into a finite number k of homogeneous and separate groups, called clusters. A good choice of k is essential for building meaningful clusters. In this paper, this task is addressed from the point of view of model selection via penalization. We design an appropriate penalty shape and derive an associated oracle-type inequality. We compute two-sided second-order epi-derivatives for certain composite functionals f=gF where F is a C 1 mapping between two Banach spaces X and Y, and g is a convex extended real-valued function on Y. These functionals include most essential objectives associated with smooth constrained minimization problems on Banach spaces. Our proof relies on our development of a formula for the second-order upper epi-derivative that mirrors a formula for a second-order lower epi-derivative from [7], and the two-sided results we obtain promise to support a more precise sensitivity analysis of parameterized optimization problems than has been previously possible.  相似文献

We also prove a related approximate version of this statement in which the stretching factor k is effectively bounded in terms of d. Let I(n) be the number of involutions in a special orthogonal group SO(n,Fq) defined over a finite field with q elements, where q is the power of an odd prime. Then the numbers I(n) form a semi-recursion, in that for m>1 we haveI(2m+3)=(q2m+2+1)I(2m+1)+q2m(q2m−1)I(2m−2).
