Given a quasisymmetric homeomorphismh of the unit circle onto itself, denote byK n * ,H h andK h the extremal maximal dilatation, boundary dilatation and maximal dilatation ofh, respectively. It is proved that there exists a family of quasisymmetric homeomorphismsh such thatK h <H h =K h * This gives a negative answer to a problem asked independently by Wu and Yang. Let P be the Petersen graph, and K u(h) the complete multipartite graph with u parts of size h. A decomposition of K u(h) into edge-disjoint copies of the Petersen graph P is called a P-decomposition of K u(h) or a P-group divisible design of type h u . In this paper, we show that there exists a P-decomposition of K u(h) if and only if h2u(u-1) o 0 mod 30{h^2u(u-1)\equiv 0 \pmod {30}} , h(u-1) o 0 mod 3{h(u-1)\equiv 0\pmod 3} , and u ≥ 3 with a definite exception (h, u) = (1, 10).  相似文献

Let (X,L) be a polarized manifold of dimension n defined over the field of complex numbers. In this paper, we treat the case where n=3 and 4. First we study the case of n=3 and we give an explicit lower bound for h0(KX+L) if κ(X)≥0. Moreover, we show the following: if κ(KX+L)≥0, then h0(KX+L)>0 unless κ(X)=− and h1(OX)=0. This gives us a partial answer of Effective Non-vanishing Conjecture for polarized 3-folds. Next for n=4 we investigate the dimension of H0(KX+mL) for m≥2. If n=4 and κ(X)≥0, then a lower bound for h0(KX+mL) is obtained. We also consider a conjecture of Beltrametti-Sommese for 4-folds and we can prove that this conjecture is true unless κ(X)=− and h1(OX)=0. Furthermore we prove the following: if (X,L) is a polarized 4-fold with κ(X)≥0 and h1(OX)>0, then h0(KX+L)>0.  相似文献

Let be an odd prime. Let K be a field of characteristic zero with algebraic closure Ka. Let n, m ≥ 4 be integers that are not divisible by . Let f(x), h(x) ∈ K[x] be irreducible separable polynomials of degree n and m respectively. Suppose that the Galois group Gal(f) of f acts doubly transitively on the set of roots of f and that Gal(h) acts doubly transitively on as well. Let J(Cf,) and J(Ch,) be the Jacobians of the superelliptic curves Cf,:y=f(x) and Ch,:y=h(x) respectively. We prove that J(Cf,) and J(Ch,) are not isogenous over Ka if the splitting fields of f and h are linearly disjoint over K and K contains a primitive th root of unity.  相似文献

This result is derived from a more general theorem in which the maximum number of delta-systems Δ(p, h, c) that can be packed intoK n h and the minimum number of delta-systems Δ(p, h, c) that can cover the edges ofK n h are determined for largen. We study oscillation in the prefix-free complexity of initial segments of 1-random reals. For upward oscillations, we prove that nω2g(n) diverges iff (n)K(X?n)>n+g(n) for every 1-random Xω2. For downward oscillations, we characterize the functions g such that (n)K(X?n)<n+g(n) for almost every Xω2. The proof of this result uses an improvement of Chaitin's counting theorem—we give a tight upper bound on the number of strings σn2 such that K(σ)<n+K(n)−m.The work on upward oscillations has applications to the K-degrees. Write XK?Y to mean that K(X?n)?K(Y?n)+O(1). The induced structure is called the K-degrees. We prove that there are comparable () 1-random K-degrees. We also prove that every lower cone and some upper cones in the 1-random K-degrees have size continuum.Finally, we show that it is independent of ZFC, even assuming that the Continuum Hypothesis fails, whether all chains of 1-random K-degrees of size less than 02 have a lower bound in the 1-random K-degrees.  相似文献

Let X be a smooth complex projective variety of dimension 3 and let L be an ample line bundle on X. In this paper, we provide a lower bound for h0(m(KX+L)) under the assumption that κ(KX+L)≥0. In particular, we get the following: (1) if 0≤κ(KX+L)≤2, then h0(KX+L)>0 holds. (2) If κ(KX+L)=3, then h0(2(KX+L))≥3 holds. A graph is called H-free if it contains no copy of H. Denote by f n (H) the number of (labeled) H-free graphs on n vertices. Erdős conjectured that f n (H) ≤ 2(1+o(1))ex(n,H). This was first shown to be true for cliques; then, Erdős, Frankl, and R?dl proved it for all graphs H with χ(H)≥3. For most bipartite H, the question is still wide open, and even the correct order of magnitude of log2 f n (H) is not known. We prove that f n (K m,m ) ≤ 2 O (n 2−1/m ) for every m, extending the result of Kleitman and Winston and answering a question of Erdős. This bound is asymptotically sharp for m∈{2,3}, and possibly for all other values of m, for which the order of ex(n,K m,m ) is conjectured to be Θ(n 2−1/m ). Our method also yields a bound on the number of K m,m -free graphs with fixed order and size, extending the result of Füredi. Using this bound, we prove a relaxed version of a conjecture due to Haxell, Kohayakawa, and Łuczak and show that almost all K 3,3-free graphs of order n have more than 1/20·ex(n,K 3,3) edges.  相似文献

A link between Ramsey numbers for stars and matchings and the Erd s-Ginzburg-Ziv theorem is established. Known results are generalized. Among other results we prove the following two theorems. Theorem 5. Let m be an even integer. If c : e (K2m−1)→{0, 1,…, m−1} is a mapping of the edges of the complete graph on 2m−1 vertices into {0, 1,…, m−1}, then there exists a star K1,m in K2m−1 with edges e1, e2,…, em such that c(e1)+c(e2)++c(em)≡0 (mod m). The theory of continued fractions of functions is used to give a lower bound for class numbers h(D) of general real quadratic function fields K=k(D)over k=Fq(T).For five series of real quadratic function fields K,the bounds of h(D)are given more explicitly,e.g.,if D=F^2 C.then h(D)≥degF/degP;if D=(SG)^2 cS.then h(D)≥degS/degP;if D=(A^m a)^2 A,then h(D)≥degA/degP,where P is an irreducible polynomial splitting in K,c∈Fq.In addition,three types of quadratic function fields K are found to have ideal class numbers bigger than one.  相似文献

Seven congruences forh - =h (K 6)/(h(K 2)h(K 3)) are obtained. In particular, when the conductorf 6 ofK 6 is a primep, , whereC is an explicitly given constant, andB n is the Bernoulli number. These results on real cyclic sextic fields are an extension of the results on quadratic and cyclic quartic fields.
