Three homochiral layered complexes, [Cu3(R-chea)2(N3)6]n (1), [Cu3(S-chea)2(N3)6]n (2) (chea = 1-cyclohexylethylamine) and [Cu3(S-phpa)2(N3)6]n (3) (phpa = 1-phenylpropylamine), and three novel cluster-based coordination polymers, [Cu6(1,2-pn)4(N3)12]n (4) (1,2-pn = 1,2-diaminopropane), [[Cu8(en)4(N3)16] x H2O]n (5) (en = ethylenediamine) and [Cu6(N-Ipren)2(N3)12]n (6) (N-Ipren = N-isopropylethylenediamine), have been synthesized by the self-assembly reactions of Cu(NO3)2 x 3H2O, NaN3 and small organic amine ligands. Their crystal structures are determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complexes are composed of neutral 2D brick wall networks with only end-on azido bridges. Complexes and are 3D coordination polymers featuring copper-azido clusters and [Cu(diamine)2]2+ units which are linked by the azido bridges. Complex is a 3D coordination framework based on the hexanuclear copper(II) clusters [Cu6(N3)12(N-Ipren)2]. Magnetic studies show that complexes are interesting chiral ferromagnets with the magnetic transition temperature at ca. 5.0 K. Complexes and show ferromagnetic coupling in the copper-azido cluster units and antiferromagnetic interaction between neighboring units, while complex shows ferromagnetic ordering at 3.2 K.  相似文献

Four new copper(II) complexes of formula [Cu(2)(tppz)(dca)(3)(H(2)O)].dca.3H(2)O (1), [Cu(5)(tppz)(N(3))(10)](n)() (2), [[Cu(2)(tppz)(N(3))(2)][Cu(2)(N(3))(6)]](n)() (3), and [Cu(tppz)(N(3))(2)].0.33H(2)O (4) [tppz = 2,3,5,6-tetrakis(2-pyridyl)pyrazine and dca = dicyanamide anion] have been synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction methods. The structure of complex 1 is made up of dinuclear tppz-bridged [Cu(2)(tppz)(dca)(3)(H(2)O)](+) cations, uncoordinated dca anions, and crystallization water molecules. The copper-copper separation across bis-terdentate tppz is 6.5318(11) A. Complex 2 is a sheetlike polymer whose asymmetric unit contains five crystallographically independent copper(II) ions. These units are building blocks in double chains in which the central part consists of a zigzag string of copper atoms bridged by double end-on azido bridges, and the outer parts are formed by dinuclear tppz-bridged entities which are bound to the central part through single end-on azido bridges. The chains are furthermore connected through weak, double out-of-plane end-on azido bridges, yielding a sheet structure. The intrachain copper-copper separations in 2 are 6.5610(6) A across bis-terdentate tppz, 3.7174(5) and 3.8477(5) A across single end-on azido bridges, and from 3.0955(5) to 3.2047(7) A across double end-on azido bridges. The double dca bridge linking the chains into sheets yields a copper-copper separation of 3.5984(7) A. The structure of 3 consists of centrosymmetric [Cu(2)(tppz)(N(3))(2)](2+) and [Cu(2)(N(3))(6)](2)(-) units which are linked through axial Cu.N(azido) (single end-on and double end-to-end coordination modes) type interactions to afford a neutral two-dimensional network. The copper-copper separations within the cation and anion are is 6.5579(5) A (across the bis-terdentate tppz ligand) and 3.1034(6) A (across the double end-on azido bridges), whereas those between the units are 3.6652(4) A (through the single end-on azido group) and 5.3508(4) A (through the double end-to-end azido bridges). The structure of complex 4 is built of neutral [Cu(tppz)(N(3))(2)] mononuclear units and uncoordinated water molecules. The mononuclear units are grouped by pairs to give a rather short copper-copper separation of 3.9031(15) A. The magnetic properties of 1-4 have been investigated in the temperature range 1.9-300 K. The magnetic behavior of complexes 1 and 4 is that of antiferromagnetically coupled copper(II) dimers with J = -43.7 (1) and -2.1 cm(-)(1) (4) (the Hamiltonian being H = -JS(A).S(B)). An overall ferromagnetic behavior is observed for complexes 2 and 3. Despite the structural complexity of 2, its magnetic properties correspond to those of magnetically isolated tppz-bridged dinuclear copper(II) units with an intermediate antiferromagnetic coupling (J = -37.5 cm(-)(1)) plus a ferromagnetic chain of hexanuclear double azido-bridged copper(II) units (the values of the magnetic coupling within and between the hexameric units being +61.1 and +0.0062 cm(-)(1), respectively). Finally, the magnetic properties of 3 were successfully analyzed through a model of a copper(II) chain with regular alternating of three ferromagnetic interactions, J(1) = +69.4 (across the double end-on azido bridges in the equatorial plane), J(2) = +11.2 (through the tppz bridge), and J(3) = +3.4 cm(-)(1) (across the single end-on azido bridge).  相似文献

Four succinato-bridged complexes of copper(II) have been synthesized. Complex 1, [Cu(2)(mu-OH(2))(2)L(bpy)(2)(NO(3))(2)](n) and 2, [Cu(2)(mu-OH(2))(2)L(phen)(2)(NO(3))(2)](n)(bpy = 2,2[prime or minute]-bipyridine; phen = 1,10-phenanthroline and LH(2)= succinic acid) exhibit 1D coordination polymer structures where both the nitrate ions are directly linked to the copper(ii) producing synthons in a 2D sheet. A novel 2D grid-like network, ([Cu(4)L(2)(bpy)(4)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(4)(H(2)O))n3, is obtained upon changing the nitrate by perchlorate anion in complex 1, where the channels are occupied by the anions. On changing the nitrate by tetrafluoroborate anion in complex 2, a novel octanuclear complex, [Cu(8)L(4)(phen)(12)](BF(4))(8).8H(2)O 4, is isolated. The coligand bpy and phen in these complexes show face-to-face (in 1,2,3,4) or edge-to-face (in 4 )pi-pi interactions forming the multidimensional supramolecular architectures. Interestingly, the appearance of edge-to-face pi-pi interactions in complex facilitates the formation of discrete octanuclear entities. Variable-temperature (300-2 K) magnetic measurements of complexes have been done. Complexes 1 and 2 show very weak antiferromagnetic (OOC-CH(2)-CH(2)-COO) and ferromagnetic coupling (mu-H(2)O). Complex 3 also shows antiferromagnetic (syn-syn mu-OCO), and ferromagnetic coupling (mu-O of the -COO group). Complex 4 with two types (syn-syn and syn-anti) of binding modes of the carboxylate group shows strong antiferromagnetic interaction.  相似文献

The coordination polymers [(Cu(N(3))(2))(2)Cu(N(3))(2)(methylpyrazine)(2)](n) 1 and [Cu(4-bromopyridine)(N(3))(2)](n) 2, were prepared from NaN(3), Cu(NO(3))(2).3H(2)O and nitrogen-containing heterocycles. 1 contains a three- and four-connected 3D (4.10(2))(2)(4(2).10(4))-dmd-net based on tetrahedral and trigonal planar nodes, whereas 2 is a sheet-structure formed by a uninodal three-connected 8(2).4 2D-net with additional BrBr (mean 3.903(2) A) and BrN(azide) (3.035(5) A) contacts. Both compounds contain end-on-type azide bridges, and 2 has in addition one end-to-end bridge as well. The corresponding magnetic interactions are J(1,2) = +14.9(6) cm(-1) for the end-on azido interactions in 1 with an additional -1.7 cm(-1) coupling through the pyrazine, and J(1) = 36(6) cm(-1) for the end-on azido interactions and J(2) = 2.5(1) cm(-1) for the orthogonal end-to-end azido interactions found in 2.  相似文献

Three new one-dimensional nickel(II) complexes with the formulas trans-[Ni(N-Eten)2(mu1.3-N3)]n(ClO4)n (1), trans-[Ni(N-Eten)2(mu1.3-N3)]n(PF6)n (2), and cis-[Ni(N-Eten)(mu1.1-N3)2]n (3) (N-Eten = N-Ethylethylenediamine) were synthesized and characterized. Complex 1 has the P2(1)/c space group and consists of a structurally and magnetically alternating one-dimensional antiferromagnetic system with end-to-end azido bridges. Compound 2 has the P1 space group and has alternate units in its structure but consists of a magnetically uniform one-dimensional antiferromagnetic system with end-to-end azido bridges. Complex 3 has the I2/a space group and may be described as a structurally and magnetically alternating one-dimensional ferromagnetic system with double azido bridged ligands in an end-on coordination mode. The chi(M)T versus T plots for compound 3 suggest an intramolecular ferromagnetic interaction between adjacent NiII ions and metamagnetism at low temperature (below 10 K). The magnetization measurements versus applied field confirm this metamagnetic ordering. In order to describe the magnetic data of this compound we developed a general formula for the magnetic susceptibility of the isotropic ferro-ferromagnetic S = 1 Heisenberg chain in terms of the alternation parameter alpha (= J2/J1); this assumed a variation of chi(M)T versus the length N.  相似文献

Four new neutral copper azido polymers, [Cu(4)(N(3))(8)(L(1))(2)](n) (1), [Cu(4)(N(3))(8)(L(2))(2)](n) (2), [Cu(4)(N(3))(8)(L(3))(2)](n) (3), and [Cu(9)(N(3))(18)(L(4))(4)](n) (4) [L(1-4) are formed in situ by reacting pyridine-2-carboxaldehyde with 2-[2-(methylamino)ethyl]pyridine (mapy, L(1)), N,N-dimethylethylenediamine (N,N-dmen, L(2)), N,N-diethylethylenediamine (N,N-deen, L(3)), and N,N,2,2-tetramethylpropanediamine (N,N,2,2-tmpn, L(4))], have been synthesized by using 0.5 mol equiv of the chelating tridentate ligands with Cu(NO(3))(2)·3H(2)O and an excess of NaN(3). Single-crystal X-ray structures show that the basic unit of these complexes, especially 1-3, contains very similar Cu(II)(4) building blocks. The overall structure of 3 is two-dimensional, while the other three complexes are one-dimensional in nature. Complex 1 represents a unique example containing hemiaminal ether arrested by copper(II). Complexes 1 and 2 have a rare bridging azido pathway: both end-on and end-to-end bridging azides between a pair of Cu(II) centers. Cryomagnetic susceptibility measurements over a wide range of temperature exhibit dominant ferromagnetic behavior in all four complexes. Density functional theory calculations (B3LYP functional) have been performed on complexes 1-3 to provide a qualitative theoretical interpretation of their overall ferromagnetic behavior.  相似文献

Two novel 3-D coordination polymers with different Cu(II) subunits as nodes and mixed bridging ligands as linkers, namely [Cu(5)(μ(3)-OH)(2)(1,3-bip)(2)(CH(3)O-ip)(4)](n) (1) and {[Cu(4)(1,3-btp)(2)(CH(3)O-p)(4)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O}(n) (2) (CH(3)O-H(2)ip = 5-methoxyisophthalate, 1,3-bip = 1,3-bis(imidazol)propane, 1,3-btp = 1,3-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)propane), were prepared under hydrothermal conditions. Complex 1 exhibits a CsCl-type network with [Cu(5)(μ(3)-OH)(2)](8+) clusters acting as nodes, which represents the first 3-D network based on pentanuclear Cu(II) clusters. Complex 2 features a 3-D pillared-layer network with (4,6)-connected (4(4).6(2))(4(4).6(8).8(3))-fsc topology, which is a rare example of homometallic coordination polymers constructed by alternate binuclear metal clusters and single metal centres. Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements show dominant ferromagnetic interactions in the pentanuclear clusters of 1 and strong antiferromagnetic interactions in the dinuclear paddle-wheel units of 2.  相似文献

Self-assembly of copper(ii) ion, 3,4-pyridinedicarboxylate (PDC), and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) under basic conditions at 100 °C affords four PDC linked copper(ii) complexes, [Cu(4)(μ(2)-OH)(3)(μ(3)-OH)(PDC)(phen)(4)](n)·n(PDC)·11.5 nH2O (1), [Cu(4)(μ(2)-OH)(2)(μ(3)-OH)(2)(PDC)(phen)(4)](n)·n(PDC)· 11.5 nH(2)O (2), [Cu(8)(μ(2)-OH)(2)(μ(3)-OH)(6)(PDC)(2)(phen)(8)]·2(PDC)·23 H(2)O (3), and [Cu(3.5)(μ(2)-OH)(3) (PDC)(2)(phen)](n) (4). 1-4 are copper hydroxo complexes, and 1, 2 and 3 co-crystallized from the one-pot reaction. X-ray single crystal diffraction analyses indicate that complexes 1 and 2 are linkage isomers and contain tetranuclear copper cluster cores with different geometry, and that PDC links the cluster core to form a one-dimensional chain. Complex 3 is a discrete step-like octanuclear copper hydroxo cluster complex. The involvement of hydroxo and phen in the coordination makes some coordination sites of PDC idle, which leads to rich hydrogen bonds and π-π interactions in complexes 1, 2 and 3. Complex 4 contains two types of copper hydroxo cluster cores: chair-like tetranuclear and linear trinuclear units, and the cluster cores are linked by PDC to a double-layer metal-organic framework. Magnetic properties of 1, 3 and 4 were investigated. The results reveal that complexes 3 and 4 exhibit strong antiferromagnetic interactions whereas ferromagnetic coupling is predominant for complex 1. The magnetic properties are analyzed in connection with their structures.  相似文献

Two new Cu(II) azido polyoxometalates compounds have been synthesized, and their structures were determined by X-ray crystallography. The compound Na(14)[SiW(9)O(34)Cu(3)(N(3))(2)(OH)(H(2)O)](2) x 24H(2)O (1) is built from two [SiW(9)O(34)Cu(3)(mu(1,1,3)-N(3))(2)(mu-OH)(H(2)O)](7-) subunits where the copper centers, connected by two azido ligands and one hydroxo group, form a nearly equilateral triangle. The two subunits are related by an inversion center and connected via the two mu(1,1,3)-N(3) ligands in an end-to-end fashion, affording a hexanuclear Cu(II) cluster. Linkage of these fragments via Cu-O=W bonds leads to a bidimensional arrangement of the polyoxometalate units. The complex LiK(14)Na(9)[P(8)W(48)O(184)Cu(20)(N(3))(6)(OH)(18)] x 60H(2)O (2) consists of two {Cu(5)(OH)(4)}(6+) and two {Cu(5)(OH)(2)(mu(1,1,3,3)-N(3))}(7+) subunits connected via four mu-OH and four mu(1,1)-N(3) additional ligands, the 20 copper centers being encapsulated in the [P(8)W(48)O(184)](40-) crown polyoxotungstate ligand. 1 represents the first multidimensional compound based on azido polyoxometalate (POM) units, and 2 represents by far the largest azido POM complex isolated to date. Magnetic measurements revealed an overall antiferromagnetic behavior for both compounds. Nevertheless, the study of the variation of the magnetization with the applied field indicates that 1 possesses a triplet ground state, which can be attributed to weak ferromagnetic interaction between the S = 1/2 triangular subunits. The stability of 1 and 2 evidenced by UV-vis spectroscopy and gel filtration chromatography, in particular at pH 5, has allowed a detailed study of their redox and electrocatalytic properties. For both compounds, the stability of the Cu(II)/Cu(I) couple is remarkable compared with the observations made in other Cu(II)-substituted POMs. Electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance measurements clearly demonstrate that the formation of the Cu(I) species occurs neatly without the formation of Cu(0). The accumulation of such Cu(II) centers within the complexes is a favorable condition to envision applications involving several electrons. The electrocatalytic reduction of dioxygen and hydrogen peroxide was achieved efficiently and has shown that the reactivity increases with the nuclearity and/or the Cu/W ratio of the POM complex. The dioxygen reduction is an overall four-electron process with water as the final product. Finally, the reduction of the W centers triggers a strong electrocatalysis of solvent reduction.  相似文献

Three transition-metal coordination polymers with azide and/or carboxylate bridges have been synthesized from 4-(3-pyridyl)benzoic acid (4,3-Hpybz) and 4-(4-pyridyl)benzoic acid (4,4-Hpybz) and characterized by X-ray crystallography and magnetic measurements. Compound 1, [Cu(4,3-pybz)(N(3))](n), consists of 2D coordination networks in which the uniform chains with (μ-EO-N(3))(μ-COO) double bridges are cross-linked by the 4,3-pybz ligands. Compound 2, [Cu(2)(4,4-pybz)(3)(N(3))](n)·3nH(2)O, consists of 2-fold interpenetrated 3D coordination networks with the α-Po topology, in which the six-connected dinuclear motifs with mixed (μ-EO-N(3))(μ-COO)(2) (EO = end-on) triple bridges are linked by the 4,4-pybz spacers. Compound 3, [Mn(4,4-pybz)(N(3))(H(2)O)(2)](n), contains 2D manganese(II) coordination networks in which the chains with single μ-EE-N(3) bridges (EE = end-to-end) are interlinked by the 4,4-pybz ligands, and the structure also features a 2D hydrogen-bonded network in which Mn(II) ions are linked by double triatomic bridges, (μ-EE-N(3))(O-H···N) and (O-H···O)(2). Magnetic studies indicated that the mixed azide and carboxylate bridges in 1 and 2 induce ferromagnetic coupling between Cu(II) ions and that 3 features antiferromagnetic coupling through the EE-azide bridge. In addition, compound 1 exhibits antiferromagnetic ordering below 6.2 K and behaves as a field-induced metamagnet. A magnetostructural survey indicates a general trend that the ferromagnetic coupling through the mixed bridges decreases as the Cu-N-Cu angle increases.  相似文献

Reactions between 2,6-diformyl-4-methylphenol (DFMF) and tris(hydroxymethyl) aminomethane (THMAM = H(3)L2) in the presence of copper(II) salts, CuX(2) (X = CH(3)CO(2)(-), BF(4)(-), ClO(4)(-), Cl(-), NO(3)(-)) and Ni(CH(3)CO(2))(2) or Ni(ClO(4))(2)/NaC(6)H(5)CO(2), sodium azide (NaN(3)), and triethylamine (TEA), in one pot self-assemble giving a coordination polymer consisting of repeating pentanuclear copper(II) clusters {[Cu(2)(H(5)L(2-))(μ-N(3))](2)[Cu(N(3))(4)]·2CH(3)OH}(n) (1) and hexanuclear Ni(II) complexes [Ni(6)(H(3)L1(-))(2)(HL2(2-))(2)(μ-N(3))(4)(CH(3)CO(2))(2)]·6C(3)H(7)NO·C(2)H(5)OH (2) and [Ni(6)(H(3)L1(-))(2)(HL2(2-))(2)(μ-N(3))(4)(C(6)H(5)CO(2))(2)]·3C(3)H(7)NO·3H(2)O·CH(3)OH (3). In 1, H(5)L(2-) and in 2 and 3 H(3)L1(-) and HL2(2-) represent doubly deprotonated, singly deprotonated, and doubly deprotonated Schiff-base ligands H(7)L and H(4)L1 and a tripodal ligand H(3)L2, respectively. 1 has a novel double-stranded ladder-like structure in which [Cu(N(3))(4)](2-) anions link single chains comprised of dinuclear cationic subunits [Cu(2)(H(5)L(2-))(μ-N(3))](+), forming a 3D structure of interconnected ladders through H bonding. Nickel(II) clusters 2 and 3 have very similar neutral hexanuclear cores in which six nickel(II) ions are bonded to two H(4)L1, two H(3)L2, four μ-azido, and two μ-CH(3)CO(2)(-)/μ-C(6)H(5)CO(2)(-) ligands. In each structure two terminal dinickel (Ni(2)) units are connected to the central dinickel unit through four doubly bridging end-on (EO) μ-azido and four triply bridging μ(3)-methoxy bridges organizing into hexanuclear units. In each terminal dinuclear unit two nickel centers are bridged through one μ-phenolate oxygen from H(3)L1(-), one μ(3)-methoxy oxygen from HL2(2-), and one μ-CH(3)CO(2)(-) (2)/μ-C(6)H(5)CO(2)(-) (3) ion. Bulk magnetization measurements on 1 show moderately strong antiferromagnetic coupling within the [Cu(2)] building block (J(1) = -113.5 cm(-1)). Bulk magnetization measurements on 2 and 3 demonstrate that the magnetic interactions are completely dominated by ferromagnetic coupling occurring between Ni(II) ions for all bridges with coupling constants (J(1), J(2), and J(3)) ranging from 2.10 to 14.56 cm(-1) (in the ? = -J(1)(?(1)?(2)) - J(1)(?(2)?(3)) - J(2)(?(3)?(4)) - J(1)(?(4)?(5)) - J(1)(?(5)?(6)) - J(2)(?(1)?(6)) - J(3)(?(2)?(6)) - J(3)(?(2)?(5)) - J(3)(?(3)?(5)) convention).  相似文献

Reaction of NaN(3) with the [Cu(II)(tn)](2+) ion (tn = 1,3-diaminopropane) in basic aqueous solution yields the azido-bridged complex of formula [Cu(2)(tn)(2)(N(3))(4)] (1), which is characterized by X-ray crystallography. The structure of 1 is made up of dinuclear neutral complexes, of formula [Cu(2)(tn)(2)(N(3))(4)], resulting from the assembling of two mononuclear units through two equivalent end-on azide bridges connecting asymmetrically two Cu(tn)(N(3))(2) entities. These dinuclear units are connected through two asymmetric end-to-end N(3) bridges to form a chain of dimers. Magnetic measurements for compound 1 show weak antiferromagnetic exchange interactions between the Cu(II) ions. The magnetic data were modeled using the susceptibility expression derived for an alternating AF S = 1/2 chain. A very satisfactory fit over the whole temperature range was obtained with g = 2.1438(4), J(1) = -3.71(2) cm(-1), and J(2) = -3.10(2) cm(-1) (J(1) and J(2) are the singlet-triplet separations). This magnetic behavior differs from those observed for similar examples which were reported as having alternating ferro- and antiferromagnetic exchange interactions; thus, DFT calculations were done to understand the nature of the magnetic coupling in such asymmetric end-on and end-to-end N(3) bridges. Theoretical results show that the double asymmetric end-on bridges produce antiferromagnetic coupling while the end-to-end ones can present ferro- or antiferromagnetic coupling depending on the copper coordination sphere.  相似文献

Reaction of the preorganized strands of ([Cu(II)(mu-4,4'-bpy)](2+))n (4,4'-bpy = 4,4'-bipyridine) with [W(V)(CN)(8)](3)(-) leads to a novel cyano-bridged Cu(II)(3)W(V)(2) complex [Cu(mu-4,4'-bpy)(DMF)(2)][Cu(mu-4,4'-bpy)(DMF)](2)[W(V)(CN)(8)](2).2DMF. 2H(2)O 1. The structure of 1 consists of the expected 2-dimensional grid-type network which is built of infinite ([Cu(II)(mu-4,4'-bpy)](2+))n chains cross-linked by octacyanotungstate units. The Cu(II)-NC-W(V)-CN-Cu(II) linkage exhibits the topology of a 3,2-chain. The skeleton of the layer is additionally stabilized by a hydrogen bond network formed by terminal cyano ligands of the [W(CN)(8)](3-) moiety and water molecules. The distance between the adjacent Cu(3)(II)W(2)(V) chains within the layer is 11.12 A along the a axis. The layers are connected by H-bonds of NCN-NDMF-NCN linkages into 3-D supramolecular architecture. The magnetic properties correspond to a dominant ferromagnetic coupling within the Cu(II)(3)W(V)(2) pentamer units (J = +35(4) cm(-1)) and much weaker effective AF interunit coupling which include both intra- and inter-3,2-chain interactions between pentamers (J' = -0.05(1) cm(-1)).  相似文献

The X-ray crystal structures, magnetic susceptibilities from 2 to 300 K, and theoretical analyses of the magnetism for 1D and trinuclear azido Cu(II) carboxylate complexes [Cu(1.5)(hnta)(N(3))(2)(H(2)O)](n) (1) and [Cu(3)(hnta)(4)(N(3))(2)(H(2)O)(3)] (2), respectively, where hnta is 6-hydroxynicotinate, are described. Although both exhibit strong ferromagnetic coupling, discrete complex 2 exhibits long-range ferromagnetic ordering, while the very similar 1D system 1 does not. Density functional calculations provided accurate J values and allowed rationalization of the ferromagnetic coupling in terms of the magnetic orbitals and spin densities.  相似文献

Using the achiral diazine ligands bearing two bidentate pyridylimino groups as sources of conformational chirality, five azido-bridged coordination polymers are prepared and characterized crystallographically and magnetically. The chirality of the molecular units is induced by the coordination of the diazine ligands in a twisted chiral conformation. The use of L(1) (1,4-bis(2-pyridyl)-1-amino-2,3-diaza-1,3-butadiene) and L(2) (1,4-bis(2-pyridyl)-1,4-diamino-2,3-diaza-1,3-butadiene) induces spontaneous resolution, yielding conglomerates of chiral compounds [Mn(3)(L(1))(2)(N(3))(6)](n) (1) and [Mn(2)(L(2))(2)(N(3))(3)](n)(ClO(4))(n).nH(2)O (2), respectively, where triangular (1) or double helical (2) chiral units are connected into homochiral one-dimensional (1D) chains via single end-to-end (EE) azido bridges. The chains are stacked via hydrogen bonds in a homochiral fashion to yield chiral crystals. When L(3) (2,5-bis(2-pyridyl)-3,4-diaza-2,4-hexadiene) is employed, a partial spontaneous resolution occurs, where binuclear chiral units are interlinked into fish-scale-like homochiral two-dimensional (2D) layers via single EE azido bridges. The layers are stacked in a heterochiral or homochiral fashion to yield simultaneously a racemic compound, [Mn(2)(L(3))(N(3))(4)](n) (3a), and a conglomerate, [Mn(2)(L(3))(N(3))(4)](n).nMeOH (3b). On the other hand, the ligand without amino and methyl substituents (L(4), 1,4-bis(2-pyridyl)-2,3-diaza-1,3-butadiene) does not induce spontaneous resolution. The resulting compound, [Mn(2)(L(4))(N(3))(4)](n) (4), consists of centrosymmetric 2D layers with alternating single diazine, single EE azido, and double end-on (EO) azido bridges, where the chirality is destroyed by the centrosymmetric double EO bridges. These compounds exhibit very different magnetic behaviors. In particular, 1 behaves as a metamagnet built of homometallic ferrimagnetic chains with a unique "fused-triangles" topology, 2 behaves as a 1D antiferromagnet with alternating antiferromagnetic interactions, 3a and 3b behave as spin-canted weak ferromagnets with different critical temperatures, and 4 also behaves as a spin-canted weak ferromagnet but exhibits two-step magnetic transitions.  相似文献

Four new neutral copper-azido polymers [Cu(4)(N(3))(8)(Me-hmpz)(2)](n) (1), [Cu(4)(N(3))(8)(men)(2)](n) (2), [Cu(5)(N(3))(10)(N,N-dmen)(2)](n) (3) and [Cu(5)(N(3))(10)(N,N'-dmen)(5)](n) (4) [Me-hmpz = 1-methylhomopiperazine; men = N-methylethylenediamine; N,N-dmen = N,N-dimethylethylenediamine and N,N'-dmen = N,N'-dimethylethylenediamine] have been synthesized by using various molar equivalents of the chelating diamine ligands with Cu(NO(3))(2)·3H(2)O and an excess of NaN(3). Single-crystal X-ray structures show that the basic asymmetric units of 1 and 2 are very similar, but the overall 1D structures were found to be quite different. Complex 3 with a different composition was found to be 2D in nature, while the 1D complex 4 with 1 : 1 metal to diamine ratio presented several new structural features. Cryomagnetic susceptibility measurements over a wide range of temperature were corroborated with density functional theory calculations (B3LYP functional) performed on the complexes 1-3 to provide a qualitative theoretical interpretation of their overall magnetic behavior.  相似文献

The bis-pyridine tridentate ligands (6-R-2-pyridylmethyl)-(2-pyridylmethyl) benzylamine (RDPMA, where R = CH(3), CF(3)), (6-R-2-pyridylmethyl)-(2-pyridylethyl) benzylamine (RPMPEA, where R = CH(3), CF(3)), and the bidentate ligand di-benzyl-(6-methyl-2-pyridylmethyl)amine (BiBzMePMA) have been synthesized and their copper(I) complexes oxidized in a methanol solution to afford self-assembled bis-micro-methoxo-binuclear copper(II) complexes (1, 2, 4, 6) or hydroxo- binuclear copper(II) complexes (3). Oxidation of the nonsubstituted DPMA (R = H) in dichloromethane gives a chloride-bridged complex (5). The crystal structures for [Cu(MeDPMA)(MeO)](2)(ClO(4))(2) (1), [Cu(RPMPEA)(MeO)](2)(ClO(4))(2) (for 2, R= Me, and for 4, R = CF(3)), [Cu(BiBzMePMA)(MeO)](2)(ClO(4))(2) (6), [Cu(FDPMA)(OH)](2)(ClO(4))(2) (3), and [Cu(DPMA)(Cl)](2)(ClO(4))(2) (5) have been determined, and their variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility has been measured in the temperature range of 10-300 K. The copper coordination geometries are best described as square pyramidal, except for 6, which is square planar, because of the lack of one pyridine ring in the bidentate ligand. In 1-4 and 6, the basal plane is formed by two pyridine N atoms and two O atoms from the bridging methoxo or hydroxo groups, whereas in 5, the bridging Cl atoms occupy axial-equatorial sites. Magnetic susceptibility measurements show that the Cu atoms are strongly coupled antiferromagnetically in the bis-methoxo complexes 1, 2, 4, and 6, with -2J > 600 cm(-)(1), whereas for the hydroxo complex 3, -2J = 195 cm(-)(1) and the chloride-bridged complex 5 shows a weak ferromagnetic coupling, with 2J = 21 cm(-)(1) (2J is an indicator of the magnetic interaction between the Cu centers).  相似文献

The synthesis and the characterization of new dinuclear copper(II) compounds of general formula [(L(a-d))(2)Cu(2)(μ-N-N)](ClO(4))(2) (1-6) with either neutral aliphatic diamine (N-N = piperazine, pip) or aromatic diimine (N-N = 4,4'-bipyridine, 4,4'-bipy) linker are reported. The copper ligands L(-) (L(a-) = (E)-2-((2-aminoethylimino)methyl)phenolate, L(b-) = (E)-2-((2-aminopropylimino)methyl)-phenolate, L(c-) = (E)-2-((2-aminoethylimino)methyl)4-nitrophenolate, L(d-) = (E)-2-((2-aminoethylimino)methyl)4-methoxyphenolate) are NNO tridentate Schiff bases derived from the monocondensation of a substituted salicylaldehyde 5-G-salH (G = NO(2), H, OMe) with ethylenediamine, en, or 1,3-propylenediamine, tn. The crystal structures of compounds [(L(a))(2)Cu(2)(MeOH)(2)(μ-4,4'-bipy)](ClO(4))(2) (1·2MeOH), [(L(b))(2)Cu(2)(MeOH)(2)(μ-4,4'-bipy)](ClO(4))(2) (2·2MeOH), [(L(d))(2)Cu(2)(μ-4,4'-bipy)](ClO(4))(2) (4), [(L(a))(2)Cu(2)(μ-pip)](ClO(4))(2) (5) and [(L(b))(2)Cu(2)(μ-pip)](ClO(4))(2) (6) have been determined, revealing the preferred (e-e)-chair conformation of the bridging piperazine in compounds 5 and 6. The presence of hydrogen-bond-mediated intermolecular interactions, that involve the methanol molecules, yields dimers of dinuclear units for 1·2MeOH, and infinite zig-zag chains for 2·2MeOH. The temperature dependences of the magnetic susceptibilities χ(M)(T) for all compounds were measured, indicating the presence of antiferromagnetic Cu-Cu exchange. For the compounds 2-4 with 4,4'-bipy, the coupling constants J are around -1 cm(-1), while in compound 1 no interaction could be detected. The compounds 5 and 6 with piperazine display higher Cu-Cu magnetic interactions through the σ-bonding backbone of the bridging molecule, with J around -8 cm(-1), and the coupling is favoured by the (e-e)-chair conformation of the diamine ring. The non-aromatic, but shorter, linker piperazine gives rise to stronger Cu-Cu antiferromagnetic couplings than the aromatic, but longer, 4,4'-bipyridine. In the latter case, the rotation along the C-C bond between the two pyridyl rings and the consequent non co-planarity of the two copper coordination planes play an important role in determining the magnetic communication. EPR studies reveal that the dinuclear species are not stable in solution, yielding the solvated [(L)Cu(MeOH)](+) and the mononuclear [(L)Cu(N-N)](+) species; it appears that the limited solubility of the dinuclear compounds is responsible for their isolation in the solid state.  相似文献

The structures and magnetic properties of self-assembled copper(II) clusters and grids with the "tritopic" ligands 2poap (a), Cl2poap (b), m2poap (c), Cl2pomp (d), and 2pomp (e) are described [ligands derived by reaction of 4-R-2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic hydrazide (R = H, Cl, MeO) with 2-pyridinemethylimidate (a-c, respectively) or 2-acetylpyridine (d, R = Cl; e, R = H)]. Cl2poap and Cl2pomp self-assemble with Cu(NO(3))(2) to form octanuclear "pinwheel" cluster complexes [Cu(8)(Cl2poap-2H)(4)(NO(3))(8)].20H(2)O (1) and [Cu(8)(Cl2pomp-2H)(4)(NO(3))(8)].15H(2)O (2), built on a square [2 x 2] grid with four pendant copper arms, using "mild" reaction conditions. Similar reactions of Cl2pomp and 2pomp with Cu(ClO(4))(2) produce pinwheel clusters [Cu(8)(Cl2pomp-2H)(4)(H(2)O)(8)](ClO(4))(8).7H(2)O (3) and [Cu(8)(2pomp-2H)(4)(H(2)O)(8)](ClO(4))(8) (4), respectively. Heating a solution of 1 in MeOH/H(2)O produces a [3 x 3] nonanuclear square grid complex, [Cu(9)(Cl2poap-H)(3)(Cl2poap-2H)(3)](NO(3))(9).18H(2)O (5), which is also produced by direct reaction of the ligand and metal salt under similar conditions. Reaction of m2poap with Cu(NO(3))(2) produces only the [3 x 3] grid [Cu(9)(m2poap-H)(2)(m2poap-2H)(4)](NO(3))(8).17H(2)O (6) under similar conditions. Mixing the tritopic ligand 2poap with pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid (picd) in the presence of Cu(NO(3))(2) produces a remarkable mixed ligand, nonanuclear grid complex [Cu(9)(2poap-H)(4)(picd-H)(3)(picd-2H)](NO(3))(9).9H(2)O (7), in which aromatic pi-stacking interactions are important in stabilizing the structure. Complexes 1-3 and 5-7 involve single oxygen atom (alkoxide) bridging connections between adjacent copper centers, while complex 4 has an unprecedented mixed micro-(N-N) and micro-O metal ion connectivity. Compound 1 (C(76)H(92)N(44)Cu(8)O(50)Cl(4)) crystallizes in the tetragonal system, space group I, with a = 21.645(1) A, c = 12.950(1) A, and Z = 2. Compound 2 (C(84)H(88)N(36)O(44)Cl(4)Cu(8)) crystallizes in the tetragonal system, space group I, with a = 21.2562(8) A, c = 12.7583(9) A, and Z = 2. Compound 4 (C(84)H(120)N(28)O(66)Cl(8)Cu(8)) crystallizes in the tetragonal system, space group I4(1)/a, with a = 20.7790(4) A, c = 32.561(1) A, and Z = 4. Compound 7(C(104)H(104)N(46)O(56)Cu(9)) crystallizes in the triclinic system, space group P, with a = 15.473(1) A, b = 19.869(2) A, c = 23.083(2) A, alpha = 88.890(2) degrees, beta = 81.511(2) degrees, gamma = 68.607(1) degrees, and Z = 2. All complexes exhibit dominant intramolecular ferromagnetic exchange coupling, resulting from an orthogonal bridging arrangement within each polynuclear structure.  相似文献
