Mössbauer spectra of Fe(Cr, Al)2O4 spinels are reported and interpreted using partial quadrupole splitting theory. Fe2+T site quadrupole splittings are calculated for different next-nearest neighbour configurations. Assuming random distribution of the Cr3+ and Al3+ in the octahedral M sites, good semiquantitative agreement between calculated and observed quadrupole splittings and absorption intensities is obtained.  相似文献

The quadrupole interaction of nuclear spin polarized8Li (I=2) and9Li (I=3/2) in LiNbO3 has been studied at room temperature. The polarization was achieved by optical pumping of a fast atomic beam with circularly polarized laser light. The atoms were implanted into a hexagonal LiNbO3 single crystal and the quadrupole splitting ofβ-NMR spectra was measured. A ratio of ¦Q(9Li)/Q(8Li)¦=0.88(4) for the nuclear quadrupole moments was deduced, yielding a new value of ¦Q(9Li)¦=25.3 (9) mb for the quadrupole moment of9Li.  相似文献

The linear polarization of quadrupole emission by the J=2-J 0=0 transition under conditions of laser excitation in a gas medium is studied. Cases of excitation through dipole and quadrupole absorption of monochromatic laser radiation are considered. Taking into account the anisotropy of collisional relaxation, the contributions of polarization moments of the second and fourth ranks, i.e., those with usual and hexadecapole alignments, to the signal of linear polarization of quadrupole emission are calculated. The dependence of this signal on the laser frequency, the density of the gas medium, and the angles determining the orientation of the system of axes of observation of light polarization relative to a laser ray is studied. The numerical calculations of contributions of usual and hexadecapole alignment to the signal of linear polarization are made for the magnetic quadrupole transition J=2-J 0=0 between the states 2p 5(2 P 1 2/0 )3p′[3/2]2 and 2p 5(2 P 1 2/0 )3s 3s′[1/2]0 of neon atoms in the xenon atmosphere.  相似文献

The quadrupole moments of the neutron isomers in140,142Sm were determined by measuring the quadrupole interaction of Sm in Gd using single crystals. The moment for the 10+ isomer in140Sm was determined to be ¦Q¦=167(48) fm2 and for the 7? isomer in142Sm ¦Q¦=112(27) fm2. The quadrupole moments are a measure for a deformation which turned out to be very similar to the deformation found for corresponding proton isomers in Gd isotones.  相似文献

The magnetic and magnetoelastic properties of YbPO4 and YbVO4 crystals are investigated experimentally and theoretically; the crystal field parameters are determined, as well as the magnetoelastic coefficients B μ and total quadrupole coupling constants G μ for all symmetry modes. It is found that, for H ∥ [100], γ-symmetric quadrupole interactions predominate and are responsible for a significant contribution to the third-order susceptibility, magnetization, magnetostriction, and elastic constant. It is demonstrated that, in the absence of an external field, these interactions do not lead to quadrupole ordering, because the respective deformation susceptibility χγ is several times less than the critical value of 1/G γ. The influence of an external magnetic field along different symmetry axes on the quadrupole effects and quadrupole interactions in Yb zircons is investigated. It is demonstrated that, for H ∥ [110], the susceptibility χγ increases with the field, so that in a fairly strong field in the investigated crystals one can expect a γ-symmetric stimulated phase transition.  相似文献

73Se was produced by proton irradiation of polycrystalline arsenic. The quadrupole interaction of the 66 keV, 5/2? state in the daughter isotope73As with the electric field gradient in the noncubic arsenic lattice was observed at room temperature by means of theγ-γ perturbed angular correlation technique. The measured angular correlation pattern is characterized by a quadrupole coupling constantv Q =51.6 (1.3) MHz. By use of the known electric field gradient on regular lattice sites, a value of ¦Q¦=0.356(12)b is derived for the quadrupole moment of the 66 keV, 5/2? state of73As.  相似文献

Using the high-resolution 93.3-keV transition in67Zn we studied the temperature dependence of the Lamb-Mössbauer factor (LMF), the center shift, and the quadrupole interaction in polycrystalline ZnF2 in the temperature range between 4.2 and 55.3 K. The LMF is anisotropic within the whole temperature range. The electric quadrupole tensor characterized byeV zz Q/h=+(8.2±0.1) MHz and η=(0.15±0.02) is independent of temperature. The results on the isomer shift (relative to ZnO) and on the electric quadrupole tensor are in very good agreement with recent theoretical cluster calculations.  相似文献

In a KMnO4 powder sample the55Mn NMR signal has been observed using a FT pulse spectrometer at magnetic fields between 0.6T and 2.1T. A second-order quadrupole splitting has been found. The quadrupole coupling constant 3e2qQ/(2I(2I?1)h) is (240±10) kHz, the asymmetry parameterη is less than 0.05.  相似文献

The lifetimes of five states in the ground band, from spin 6+ up to spin 14+, and of all even states in the gamma band up to spin 12+, have been measured in166Er using the recoil distance method. The reduced electric quadrupole transition probabilities have been determined from the measured lifetimes using previously measured branching ratios, and the mixing between the ground band and theγ-band has been studied. The transitional electric quadrupole moments for the ground band and theγ-band have been deduced and are discussed.  相似文献

The hyperfine structure constants and the electronic g J factor of the state 4f 11 6s 2 4 I 11/2 belonging to the holmium ground multiplet have been measured using the atomic beam magnetic resonance technique combined with a state-selective laser-induced detection of the resonant atoms. By the same method the g J factor of the level 4f 116s 24 I 9/2 was determined, while the hyperfine structures of this metastable state and of two high-lying even parity states have been investigated by high resolution laser spectroscopy. The results for the experimentalA andB factors of all four members of the ground multiplet allow a least-squares evaluation of the three magnetic dipole and the three electric quadrupole effective radial parameters for the configuration 4f 11 6s 2 of holmium, yielding an accurate value for the spectroscopic nuclear electric quadrupole moment:Q hfs(165Ho)=2.716(9)b (uncorrected for quadrupole shielding). From a comparison to the quadrupole moments measured in mesic holmium atoms the shielding factor could be estimated.  相似文献

Rotational transition frequencies for 14NO-14NO, 14NO-15NO, and 15NO-15NO were measured using a pulsed-nozzle Fourier transform microwave spectrometer. Rotational constants for the different isotopic combinations allowed an unambiguous structure determination. The molecule is in a cis planar structure with a bond between the nitrogen atoms and an NNO angle θ = 99.6(2)°. The NN bond length is 2.236(1) Å and the NO bond length is 1.161(4) Å. Hyperfine structure due to nitrogen quadrupole coupling and spin-rotation interactions was observed and analyzed. Rotation constants, quadrupole coupling tensor, and spin-rotation tensor elements are given.  相似文献

Electric quadrupole coupling constant eqQ/h of the extremely proton-rich 23Al (I π ?=?5/2?+?, T 1/2?=?0.47 s) nucleus implanted into an Al2O3 single crystal has been measured for the first time, using the β-ray detecting nuclear quadrupole resonance method (β-NQR) in a high magnetic field. As a preliminary result, the quadrupole coupling constant was determined as |eqQ/h(23Al) |?=?2.66±0.77 MHz. Using the quadrupole coupling constant of 27Al in Al2O3 as a reference, the Q moment of the ground state of 23Al was extracted as |Q(23Al)|?~?160 mb, which is well explained by the shell model calculation in the sd-shell model space with the USD interaction.  相似文献

The quadrupole interaction frequency |v q| = |eQV zz /h|0 = 8.71 ± 0.11 MHz was measured for the 75 keV state of100Rh in a polycrystalline cadmium matrix by use of the γ-e? and γ-γ time differential perturbed angular correlation (TDPAC) techniques. The rotational spectra of eight isotopomers of 1-chloro-1-fluoroethylene in the 6-22 GHz region have been collected and analyzed. Each rotational transition is split into hyperfine components by the chlorine (either 35Cl or 37Cl) nuclear quadrupole coupling interaction and additionally, one or more smaller interactions such as the spin-rotation interaction due to the fluorine atom, hydrogen-hydrogen spin-spin coupling interactions, and in appropriately substituted species, the deuterium nuclear quadrupole hyperfine interaction. The rotational constants derived from these isotopomers allow the determination of average and Kraitchman substitution structures for 1-chloro-1-fluoroethylene, whereas the availability of the diagonal chlorine nuclear quadrupole coupling constants for all the isotopomers provides complete quadrupole coupling tensors for both 35Cl and 37Cl. In the course of this work, the rotational spectrum of an excited vibrational state of the normal isotopomer was observed, which ab initio calculations suggest should be assigned to ν9=1, an in-plane bending motion at the CFCl end of the molecule.  相似文献

The hyperfine structure and the isotope shift of transitions between metastable levels of the configuration 4f 75d6s and levels of the configuration 4f 75d6p of151Eu and153Eu were studied by means of the high resolution laser-atomic-beam technique. The metastable states were populated by an arc discharge burning in the atomic beam. The measured hyperfine constantsA andB of the 4f 75d6s configuration allow to perform a parametric analysis using the effective tensor operator formalism. For the first time the nuclear quadrupole moments are deduced from the quadrupole interaction parameters of the 5d electron in Eu I. The values uncorrected for the Sternheimer effect are151 Q(5d)=1.53(5)b and153 Q(5d)=3.92(12)b. A comparison with the quadrupole moments derived from the 6p electron and the intrinsic quadrupole moment of153Eu gives information about Sternheimer's correction factors. The value found for the hyperfine anomaly due tos electrons in the 4f 75d6s configuration agrees very well with previous results in other Eu configurations. The change in the mean-square nuclear charge radius is derived from the isotope shift measurements and compared with the results obtained from other optical transitions in Eu. The mean value isgdr 2151, 153 =0.577(25) fm2.  相似文献

The fragmentation of the giant monopole resonance in deformed nuclei is first studied by coupling the monopole oscillation with the quadrupole oscillation by means of the variational procedure for resonance frequencies. It is shown that, for non-axial symmetry, the monopole oscillation couples with both m = 0 and 2 modes of the quadrupole oscillation and the giant monopole resonance is split into three components, whereas for axial symmetry, the fragmentation is given by E0(1 + 0.86δ2 ± 1.25δ3) and E0(0.74 ± 0.22δ ? 0.21δ2 ± 0.57δ3), where E0 is the g monopole resonance energy for spherical nuclei, δ is the deformation parameter, and the upper and lower signs stand for prolate and oblate deformations, respectively. The initial fragmentation of the giant quadrupole resonance is seen to be little modified by the coupling, except for the m = 0 mode which is split into two components. The variational method is extended to general multipoles for an ellipsoid and the fragmentation of giant multipole resonances in deformed nuclei is investigated for both axial and non-axial symmetries. A brief discussion is also made about the meaning of the energy eigenvalue involved in the model wave equation in terms of multipole sum rules. The giant dipole resonance for the static octupole deformation is shortly considered. The giant E0 and E3 resonances for largely deformed nuclei are finally examined by solving the spheroidal eigenvalue equation and they are compared with the results of the giant dipole and quadrupole resonances.  相似文献

The problem of the origin of the quadrupole deformation in the 6Li ground state is investigated with allowance for the three-deuteron component of the 6Li wave function. Two long-standing puzzles related to the tensor interaction in the 6Li nucleus are known: that of an anomalous smallness of the 6Li quadrupole moment (being negative, it is smaller in magnitude than the 7Li quadrupole moment by a factor of 5) and that of an anomalous behavior of the tensor analyzing power T2q in the scattering of polarized 6Li nuclei on various targets. It is shown that a large (in magnitude) negative exchange contribution to the 6Li quadrupole moment from the three-deuteron configuration cancels almost completely the “direct” positive contribution due to the αd folding potential. As a result, the total quadrupole moment proves to be close to zero and highly sensitive to fine details of the tensor nucleon-nucleon interaction in the 4He nucleus and of its wave function.  相似文献

Room temperature 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy has been used to investigate the structural and oxidation state of Fe in tektites from different strewn fields. Spectra have been analyzed in terms of two quadrupole splitting distributions corresponding to Fe3?+? and Fe2?+?. All tektites show similar distribution of quadrupole splitting. Each distribution has one peak. The Fe2?+? sites show a narrow region of Mössbauer line shift (δ) and quadrupole splitting (ε), δ?= 1.02–1.10 mm/s and ε?= 0.85–1.00 mm/s relative to α-Fe. These values have been assigned to intermediate coordination between tetrahedral and octahedral. The Fe3?+? sites show wider regions of hyperfine parameters: δ?= 0.25–0.45 mm/s and ε?= 0.65–0.90 mm/s. The Fe3?+?/Fe2?+? ratio was found to be 0.05–0.15.  相似文献

The quadrupole moments of the first 2+ states of 130,134Ba were measured using the reorientation precession technique. Prolate deformations were determined for both nuclei. The quadrupole moments found were Q = ?0.33 ± 0.24 b and ?0.31 ± 0.24 b for 130Ba and 134Ba, respectively.  相似文献
