Abstract

In this paper, the authors give a partial characterization of invertible, dense and projective submodules. In the final section, they give the equivalent conditions to be invertible, dense and projective submodules for a given an R-module M. They also provide conditions under which a given ring R is a Dedekind domain if and only if every non zero submodule of an R-module is locally free.  相似文献

Lattices of submodules of modules and the operators we can define on these lattices are useful tools in the study of rings and modules and their properties. Here we shall consider some submodule operators defined by sets of left ideals. First we focus our attention on the relationship between properties of a set of ideals and properties of a submodule operator it defines. Our second goal will be to apply these results to the study of the structure of certain classes of rings and modules. A right module $M$ over an associative ring $R$ with unity is a $QTAG$-module if every finitely generated submodule of any homomorphic image of $M$ is a direct sum of uniserial modules. This article considers the closure of $h$-pure-$S$-high submodules of $QTAG$-modules. Here, we determine all submodules $S$ of a $QTAG$-module $M$ such that each closure of $h$-pure-$S$-high submodule of $M$ is $h$-pure-$\overline{S}$-high in $\overline{M}$. A few results of this theme give a comparison of some elementary properties of $h$-pure-$S$-high and $S$-high submodules.  相似文献

Abstract

In this note, we provide a generalization of a well-known result of module theory which states that two injective modules are isomorphic when they are isomorphic to submodules of each other. More precisely, we show here that two RD-injective (respectively, pure-injective) modules over an integral domain are isomorphic if they are isomorphic to relatively divisible (respectively, pure) sub- modules of each other.  相似文献

Abstract

In this paper we study “co-isosimple” modules, that is, those modules which are isomorphic to all of its non-zero quotients modules. This allows us to define and study “isomaximal” submodules, “isomax” modules and the “co-isoradical” of a module. We study some of its basic properties and we give a characterization of left V-ring using these concepts.

Abstract

In this article, we consider the category of unitary right modules over an (associative) ring and the category of firm right modules over an idempotent ring. We study monomorphisms in these categories and give conditions under which morphisms are monomorphisms in the category of firm modules. We also prove that the lattice of categorically defined subobjects of a firm module is isomorphic to the lattice of unitary submodules of that module.  相似文献

We introduce and study the concept of small Krull dimension of a module which is Krull-like dimension extension of the concept of DCC on small submodules. Using this concept we extend some of the basic results for modules with this dimension, which are almost similar to the basic properties of modules with Krull dimension. When for a module A with small Krull dimension, whose Rad(A) is quotient finite dimensional, then these two dimensions for Rad(A) coincide. In particular, we prove that if an R-module A has finite hollow dimension, then A has small Krull dimension if and only if it has Krull dimension. Consequently, we show that if A has properties AB5* and qfd, then A has s.Krull dimension if and only if A has Krull dimension.  相似文献

We define and investigate t-semisimple modules as a generalization of semisimple modules. A module M is called t-semisimple if every submodule N contains a direct summand K of M such that K is t-essential in N. T-semisimple modules are Morita invariant and they form a strict subclass of t-extending modules. Many equivalent conditions for a module M to be t-semisimple are found. Accordingly, M is t-semisiple, if and only if, M = Z 2(M) ⊕ S(M) (where Z 2(M) is the Goldie torsion submodule and S(M) is the sum of nonsingular simple submodules). A ring R is called right t-semisimple if R R is t-semisimple. Various characterizations of right t-semisimple rings are given. For some types of rings, conditions equivalent to being t-semisimple are found, and this property is investigated in terms of chain conditions.  相似文献

Abstract

Let 𝒢 be a simple finite dimensional Lie algebra over the complex numbers and let 𝒢¯ = 𝒢1 ⊕…⊕ 𝒢 k be a regular semisimple subalgebra of 𝒢 with each 𝒢 i being a simple algebra of type A or C. It is shown that the lattice of submodules of a generalized Verma 𝒢-module constructed by parabolic induction starting from a simple torsion free 𝒢¯-module is almost always isomorphic to the lattice of submodules of an associated module formed as a quotient of a classical Verma module by a sum of Verma submodules. In particular, it is shown that the Mathieu admissible Verma modules involved have maximal submodules which are the sum of Verma modules.  相似文献

Abstract

First, we give a partial solution to the isomorphism problem for uniserial modules of finite length with the help of the morphisms between these modules. Later, under suitable assumptions on the lattice of the submodules, we give a method to partially solve the isomorphism problem for uniserial modules over an arbitrary ring. ABSTRACT

P. F. Smith studied modules in which every submodule has a unique closure and called them UC modules. In this paper we consider modules with the dual property viz., those in which every submodule has a unique coclosure and call such modules UCC modules. Unlike closures, a coclosure of a submodule of a module may not always exist and even if it exists, it may not be unique. We investigate the conditions under which a module is a UCC module. We prove that UCC modules are closed under factor modules and coclosed submodules. We also investigate their properties and their relation to non-cosingular modules, copolyform modules, and codimension modules. We end this paper with the dual of Smith's result on dimension modules.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this paper, the authors introduce the concept of integrally closed modules and characterize Dedekind modules and Dedekind domains. They also show that a given domain R is integrally closed if and only if a finitely generated torsion-free projective R-module is integrally closed. In addition, it is proved that any invertible submodule of a finitely generated projective module over a domain is finitely generated and projective. Also they give the equivalent conditions for Dedekind modules and Dedekind domains.

Abstract

A module is said to be copure injective if it is injective with respect to all modules A ? B with B/A injective. We first characterize submodules that have the extension property with respect to copure injective modules. Then we characterize commutative rings with finite self injective dimension in terms of copure injective modules. Finally, we show that the quotient categories of reduced copure injective modules and reduced h- divisible modules are isomorphic.  相似文献
