We present evidence that anomalous transport in the classical standard map results in strong enhancement of fluctuations in the localization length of quasienergy states in the corresponding quantum dynamics. This generic effect occurs even far from the semiclassical limit and reflects the interplay of local and global quantum suppression mechanisms of classically chaotic dynamics. Possible experimental scenarios are also discussed.  相似文献

The total correlations in a bipartite quantum state are well quantified by the quantum mutual information, the amount of which is not necessarily fully extractable by local measurements. The observable correlations are the maximal correlations that can be extracted via local measurements, and have an intuitive interpretation as a measure of classical correlations. We evaluate the observable correlations for generic two-qubit states and obtain analytical expressions in some particular cases. The intricate and subtle relationships among the total, quantum and classical correlations are illustrated in terms of observable correlations. In the course, we also disprove an intuitive conjecture of Lindblad which states that the classical correlations account for at least half of the total correlations, or equivalently, correlations are more classical than quantum.  相似文献

We define a natural ensemble of trace preserving, completely positive quantum maps and present algorithms to generate them at random. Spectral properties of the superoperator Φ associated with a given quantum map are investigated and a quantum analogue of the Frobenius-Perron theorem is proved. We derive a general formula for the density of eigenvalues of Φ and show the connection with the Ginibre ensemble of real non-symmetric random matrices. Numerical investigations of the spectral gap imply that a generic state of the system iterated several times by a fixed generic map converges exponentially to an invariant state.  相似文献

The linear entropy and the Loschmidt echo have proved to be of interest recently in the context of quantum information and of the quantum to classical transitions. We study the asymptotic long-time behavior of these quantities for open quantum maps and relate the decays to the eigenvalues of a coarse-grained superoperator. In specific ranges of coarse graining, and for chaotic maps, these decay rates are given by the Ruelle-Pollicott resonances of the classical map.  相似文献

We construct a new example of a quantum map, the quantized version of the D-transformation, which is the natural extension to two dimensions of the tent map. The classical, quantum and semiclassical behavior is studied. We also exhibit some relationships between the quantum versions of the D-map and the parity projected baker's map. The method of construction allows a generalization to dissipative maps which includes the quantization of a horseshoe. (c) 1996 American Institute of Physics.  相似文献

We present a direct link between manifestations of classical Hamiltonian chaos and quantum nonintegrability effects as they occur in quantum invariants. In integrable classical Hamiltonian systems, analytic invariants (integrals of the motion) can be constructed numerically by means of time averages of dynamical variables over phase-space trajectories, whereas in near-integrable models such time averages yield nonanalytic invariants with qualitatively different properties. Translated into quantum mechanics, the invariants obtained from time averages of dynamical variables in energy eigenstates provide a topographical map of the plane of quantized actions (quantum numbers) with properties which again depend sensitively on whether or not the classical integrability condition is satisfied. The most conspicuous indicator of quantum chaos is the disappearance of quantum numbers, a phenomenon directly related to the breakdown of invariant tori in the classical phase flow. All results are for a system consisting of two exchange-coupled spins with biaxial exchange and single-site anisotropy, a system with a nontrivial integrability condition.  相似文献

We present several identities involving quasi-minors of noncommutative generic matrices. These identities are specialized to quantum matrices, yieldingq-analogues of various classical determinantal formulas.  相似文献

We study numerically classical and quantum dynamics of a piecewise parabolic area preserving map on a cylinder which emerges from the bounce map of elongated triangular billiards. The classical map exhibits anomalous diffusion. Quantization of the same map results in a system with dynamical localization and pure point spectrum.  相似文献

Quantum discord quantifies nonclassical correlations in quantum states. We introduce discord for states in causal probabilistic theories, inspired by the original definition proposed by H. Ollivier and W.?H. Zurek [Phys. Rev. Lett. 88, 017901 (2001)]. We show that the only probabilistic theory in which all states have null discord is classical probability theory. Non-null discord is then not just a quantum feature, but a generic signature of nonclassicality.  相似文献

We investigate statistical properties of unstable periodic orbits, especially actions for two simple linear maps (p-adic Baker map and sawtooth map). The action of periodic orbits for both maps is written in terms of symbolic dynamics. As a result, the expression of action for both maps becomes a Hamiltonian of one-dimensional spin systems with the exponential-type pair interaction. Numerical work is done for enumerating periodic orbits. It is shown that after symmetry reduction, the dyadic Baker map is close to generic systems, and the p-adic Baker map and sawtooth map with noninteger K are also close to generic systems. For the dyadic Baker map, the trace of the quantum time-evolution operator is semiclassically evaluated by employing the method of Phys. Rev. E 49, R963 (1994). Finally, using the result of this and with a mathematical tool, it is shown that, indeed, the actions of the periodic orbits for the dyadic Baker map with symmetry reduction obey the uniform distribution modulo 1 asymptotically as the period goes to infinity. The effect of dissipation on a quantum system exhibiting chaos in its classical limit is studied by coupling the kicked quantum rotator to a reservoir with angular momentum exchange. A master equation is derived which maps the density matrix from one kick to the subsequent one. Several limiting cases are investigated. The limits of 0 and of vanishing dissipation serve as tests of consistency, in reproducing the maps of the classical kicked damped rotator and of the kicked quantum rotator, respectively. In the limit of strong dissipation the classical map reduces to a circle map. A quantum map corresponding to the circle map is therefore obtained in this limit. In the limit of infinite dissipation the density matrix becomes independent of the initial condition after a single application of the map, allowing for a simple analytical solution for the density matrix. In the semi-classical limit the quantum map reduces to a classical map with quantum mechanically determined classical noise terms, which are evaluated. For sufficiently small dissipation the physical character of the leading quantum corrections changes. Quantum mechanical interference effects then render the Wigner distribution negative in some parts of phase space and prevent its interpretation in classical terms. Numerical results will be presented in a subsequent paper.  相似文献

We describe the first measurements of line-density fluctuations and spatial correlations of quantum turbulence in superfluid 3He-B. All of the measurements are performed in the low-temperature regime, where the normal-fluid density is negligible. The quantum turbulence is generated by a vibrating grid. The vortex-line density is found to have large length-scale correlations, indicating large-scale collective motion of vortices. Furthermore, we find that the power spectrum of fluctuations versus frequency obeys a -5/3 power law which verifies recent speculations that this behavior is a generic feature of fully developed quantum turbulence, reminiscent of the Kolmogorov spectrum for velocity fluctuations in classical turbulence.  相似文献

Symmetric quantum games for 2-player, 2-qubit strategies are analyzed in detail by using a scheme in which all pure states in the 2-qubit Hilbert space are utilized for strategies. We consider two different types of symmetric games exemplified by the familiar games, the Battle of the Sexes (BoS) and the Prisoners’ Dilemma (PD). These two types of symmetric games are shown to be related by a duality map, which ensures that they share common phase structures with respect to the equilibria of the strategies. We find eight distinct phase structures possible for the symmetric games, which are determined by the classical payoff matrices from which the quantum games are defined. We also discuss the possibility of resolving the dilemmas in the classical BoS, PD, and the Stag Hunt (SH) game based on the phase structures obtained in the quantum games. It is observed that quantization cannot resolve the dilemma fully for the BoS, while it generically can for the PD and SH if appropriate correlations for the strategies of the players are provided.  相似文献

We provide an alternative view of the efficient classical simulatibility of fermionic linear optics in terms of Slater determinants. We investigate the generic effects of two-mode measurements on the Slater number of fermionic states. We argue that most such measurements are not capable (in conjunction with fermion linear optics) of an efficient exact implementation of universal quantum computation. Our arguments do not apply to the two-mode parity measurement, for which exact quantum computation becomes possible.  相似文献

Square billiards are quantum systems complying with the dynamical quantum-classical correspondence. Hence an initially localized wavefunction launched along a classical periodic orbit evolves along that orbit, the spreading of the quantum amplitude being controlled by the spread of the corresponding classical statistical distribution. We investigate wavepacket dynamics and compute the corresponding de Broglie-Bohm trajectories in the quantum square billiard. We also determine the trajectories and statistical distribution dynamics for the equivalent classical billiard. Individual Bohmian trajectories follow the streamlines of the probability flow and are generically non-classical. This can also hold even for short times, when the wavepacket is still localized along a classical trajectory. This generic feature of Bohmian trajectories is expected to hold in the classical limit. We further argue that in this context decoherence cannot constitute a viable solution in order to recover classicality.  相似文献

We examine certain classical continuum long wave-length limits of prototype integrable quantum spin chains. We define the corresponding construction of classical continuum Lax operators. Our discussion starts with the XXX chain, the anisotropic Heisenberg model and their generalizations and extends to the generic isotropic and anisotropic glngln magnets. Certain classical and quantum integrable models emerging from special “dualities” of quantum spin chains, parametrized by c-number matrices, are also presented.  相似文献

We study both classical and quantum relation between two Hamiltoniansystems which are mutually connected by time-dependent canonical transformation. One is ordinary conservative system and the other istime-dependent Hamiltonian system. The quantum unitary operatorrelevant to classical canonical transformation between the two systems are obtained through rigorous evaluation. With the aid of the unitary operator, we have derived quantum states of the time-dependent Hamiltonian system through transforming the quantum states of the conservative system. The invariant operators of the two systems are presented and the relation between them are addressed. We showed that there exist numerous Hamiltonians, which gives the same classical equation of motion. Though it is impossible to distinguish the systems described by these Hamiltonians within the realm of classical mechanics, they can be distinguishable quantum mechanically.  相似文献
