A series of D ‐π‐A organic dendritic and star‐shaped molecules based on three various chromophores (i.e., the truxene nodes, triphenylamine moieties as the donor, and benzothiadiazole chromophore as the acceptor) and their corresponding model compounds are facilely developed. Their photophysical and electrochemical properties are investigated in detail by UV/Vis absorption and photoluminescent spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry. By changing the various conjugated spacers (i.e., single bond, double bond, and triple bond) among the three chromophores of dendritic series, their photophysical properties (that is, the one‐photon absorption range and two‐photon absorption cross‐section values) are effectively modulated. All D ‐π‐A conjugated oligomers show a broad and strong absorption band from 250 to 700 nm in thin films. Solution‐processed bulk‐heterojunction photovoltaic devices using our oligomer as donor and PCBM as acceptor are fabricated and measured. The power conversion efficiency of the devices based on our oligomers continuously increases from DBTTr to TRTD2A as a result of an increasing relative absorption intensity in longer wavelength region by changing the donor‐acceptor ratio and conjugated spacers between the donor and acceptor. The power conversion efficiency of the devices based on TRTD2A was 0.54 % under the illumination of AM 1.5 and 100 mW cm?2, which is the highest value recorded based on D ‐π‐A conjugated oligomers containing triphenylamine moieties and benzothiadiazole chromophores with truxene to date.  相似文献

4‐Antipyrine [4‐amino‐1,5‐dimethyl‐2‐phenyl‐1H‐pyrazol‐3(2H)‐one] and its derivatives exhibit a range of biological activities, including analgesic, antibacterial and anti‐inflammatory, and new examples are always of potential interest and value. 2‐(4‐Chlorophenyl)‐N‐(1,5‐dimethyl‐3‐oxo‐2‐phenyl‐2,3‐dihydro‐1H‐pyrazol‐4‐yl)acetamide, C19H18ClN3O2, (I), crystallizes with Z′ = 2 in the space group P, whereas its positional isomer 2‐(2‐chlorophenyl)‐N‐(1,5‐dimethyl‐3‐oxo‐2‐phenyl‐2,3‐dihydro‐1H‐pyrazol‐4‐yl)acetamide, (II), crystallizes with Z′ = 1 in the space group C2/c; the molecules of (II) are disordered over two sets of atomic sites having occupancies of 0.6020 (18) and 0.3980 (18). The two independent molecules of (I) adopt different molecular conformations, as do the two disorder components in (II), where the 2‐chlorophenyl substituents adopt different orientations. The molecules of (I) are linked by a combination of N—H…O and C—H…O hydrogen bonds to form centrosymmetric four‐molecule aggregates, while those of (II) are linked by the same types of hydrogen bonds forming sheets. The related compound N‐(1,5‐dimethyl‐3‐oxo‐2‐phenyl‐2,3‐dihydro‐1H‐pyrazol‐4‐yl)‐2‐(3‐methoxyphenyl)acetamide, C20H21N3O3, (III), is isomorphous with (I) but not strictly isostructural; again the two independent molecules adopt different molecular conformations, and the molecules are linked by N—H…O and C—H…O hydrogen bonds to form ribbons. Comparisons are made with some related structures, indicating that a hydrogen‐bonded R22(10) ring is the common structural motif.  相似文献

Long‐chain fatty acids (FAs) with low water solubility require fatty‐acid‐binding proteins (FABPs) to transport them from cytoplasm to the mitochondria for energy production. However, the precise mechanism by which these proteins recognize the various lengths of simple alkyl chains of FAs with similar high affinity remains unknown. To address this question, we employed a newly developed calorimetric method for comprehensively evaluating the affinity of FAs, sub‐Angstrom X‐ray crystallography to accurately determine their 3D structure, and energy calculations of the coexisting water molecules using the computer program WaterMap. Our results clearly showed that the heart‐type FABP (FABP3) preferentially incorporates a U‐shaped FA of C10–C18 using a lipid‐compatible water cluster, and excludes longer FAs using a chain‐length‐limiting water cluster. These mechanisms could help us gain a general understanding of how proteins recognize diverse lipids with different chain lengths.  相似文献

A small library of polytopic receptors has been synthesized from mesop‐ and mesom‐aminophenylcalix[4]pyrroles and p‐ or m‐phthaloyl or trimesic chloride. Selected bis‐carboxylates and the citrate anion, which either exhibit altered distribution profiles in cancerous tissues in comparison with healthy tissues or are metabolites of carcinogenic substances (for example, trans,trans‐muconic acid from benzene exposure in humans) were tested as ligands. Varied affinities and binding modes were observed as a function of the number of calix[4]pyrroles and the topology of amide units present in each of the polytopic receptors. The structures of the 1:1 complexes derived by molecular modeling are in excellent agreement with the results of 1H NMR complexation studies.  相似文献

In geometry optimizations and molecular dynamics calculations, it is often necessary to transform a geometry step that has been determined in internal coordinates to Cartesian coordinates. A new method for performing such transformations, the high‐order path‐expansion (HOPE) method, is here presented. The new method treats the nonlinear relation between internal and Cartesian coordinates by means of automatic differentiation. The method is reliable, applicable to any system of internal coordinates, and computationally more efficient than the traditional method of iterative back transformations. As a bonus, the HOPE method determines not just the Cartesian step vector but also a continuous step path expressed in the form of a polynomial, which is useful for determining reaction coordinates, for integrating trajectories, and for visualization. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

A diruthenium complex with a redox‐active amine bridge has been designed, synthesized, and studied by single‐crystal X‐ray analysis and DFT and TDDFT calculations. It shows three well‐separated redox processes with exclusive near‐infrared (NIR) absorbance at each redox state. The electropolymerized film of a related vinyl‐functionalized complex displays multistate NIR electrochromism with low operational potential, good contrast ratio, and long retention time. Flip‐flop, flip‐flap‐flop, and ternary memories have been realized by using the obtained film (ca. 15–20 nm thick) with three electrochemical inputs and three NIR optical outputs that each displays three levels of signal intensity.  相似文献

The title compound, C17H13NO4, crystallizes in two polymorphic forms, each with two molecules in the asymmetric unit and in the monoclinic space group P21/c. All of the molecules have intramolecular hydrogen bonds involving the amide group. The amide N atoms act as donors to the carbonyl group of the pyrone and also to the methoxy group of the benzene ring. The carbonyl O atom of the amide group acts as an acceptor of the β and β′ C atoms belonging to the aromatic rings. These intramolecular hydrogen bonds have a profound effect on the molecular conformation. In one polymorph, the molecules in the asymmetric unit are linked to form dimers by weak C—H...O interactions. In the other, the molecules in the asymmetric unit are linked by a single weak C—H...O hydrogen bond. Two of these units are linked to form centrosymmetric tetramers by a second weak C—H...O interaction. Further interactions of this type link the molecules into chains, so forming a three‐dimensional network. These interactions in both polymorphs are supplemented by π–π interactions between the chromone rings and between the chromone and methoxyphenyl rings.  相似文献

All in a ball : Neutral molecular clusters consisting of a few thousand molecules can be seen as tiny snow balls; if they are thrown fast enough onto a surface, they are able to pick up biomolecules such as insulin from that surface. Since they break down and evaporate during and after the collision, bare biomolecular ions are available for mass spectrometry after such an energetic throw.

The decarboxylation of 2‐cyano‐2‐phenylpropanoic acid is fast and quantitative when carried out in the presence of 1 molar equivalent of a [2]catenane composed of two identical macrocycles incorporating a 1,10‐phenanthroline unit in their backbone. When decarboxylation is over, all of the catenane molecules have experienced large‐amplitude motions from neutral to protonated catenane, and back again to the neutral form, so that they are ready to perform another cycle. This study provides the first example of the cyclic operation of a molecular switch at the sole expenses of the energy supplied by the substrate undergoing chemical transformation, without recourse to additional stimuli.  相似文献

Carbohydrates are slippery customers in water. Camouflaged by solvent‐mimicking hydroxy groups, they make challenging targets, even for natural receptors. In their Communication on page 1775 ff., A. P. Davis and co‐workers describe a synthetic receptor that is remarkably effective for the important β‐N‐acetylglucosaminyl (β‐GlcNAC) unit. The affinities of the receptor are good and its selectivities are excellent, even by the standards of natural carbohydrate‐binding proteins.

Novel 4‐hydroxyquinoline (4HQ) based tautomeric switches are reported. 4HQs equipped with coordinative side arms (8‐arylimino and 3‐piperidin‐1‐ylmethyl groups) were synthesized to access O or N‐selective chelation of Zn2+ and Cd2+ ions by 4HQ. In the case of the monodentate arylimino group, O chelation of metal ions induces concomitant switching of phenol tautomer to the keto form in nonpolar or aprotic media. This change is accompanied by selective and highly sensitive fluorometric sensing of Zn2+ ions. In the case of the bidentate 8‐(quinolin‐8‐ylimino)methyl side arm, NMR studies in CD3OD indicated that both Cd2+ and Zn2+ ions afford N chelation for 4HQ, coexisting with tautomeric switching from quinolin‐4(1H)‐one to quinolin‐4‐olate. In corroboration, UV/Vis‐monitored metal‐ion titrations in toluene and methanol implied similar structural changes. Additionally, fluorescence measurements indicated that the metal‐triggered tautomeric switching is associated with compound signaling properties. The results are supported by DFT calculations at the B3LYP 6‐31G* level. Several X‐ray structures of metal‐free and metal‐chelating 4HQ are presented to support the solution studies.  相似文献
