We say that n independent trajectories ξ1(t),…,ξ n (t) of a stochastic process ξ(t)on a metric space are asymptotically separated if, for some ɛ > 0, the distance between ξ i (t i ) and ξ j (t j ) is at least ɛ, for some indices i, j and for all large enough t 1,…,t n , with probability 1. We prove sufficient conitions for asymptotic separationin terms of the Green function and the transition function, for a wide class of Markov processes. In particular,if ξ is the diffusion on a Riemannian manifold generated by the Laplace operator Δ, and the heat kernel p(t, x, y) satisfies the inequality p(t, x, x) ≤ Ct −ν/2 then n trajectories of ξ are asymptotically separated provided . Moreover, if for some α∈(0, 2)then n trajectories of ξ(α) are asymptotically separated, where ξ(α) is the α-process generated by −(−Δ)α/2. We study the irrational factor function I(n) introduced by Atanassov and defined by , where is the prime factorization of n. We show that the sequence {G(n)/n} n≧1, where G(n) = Π ν=1 n I(ν)1/n , is convergent; this answers a question of Panaitopol. We also establish asymptotic formulas for averages of the function I(n). We show that it is consistent with ZFC thatL (Y,B,ν) has no linear lifting for many non-complete probability spaces (Y,B,ν), in particular forY=[0,1]A,B=Borel subsets ofY, ν=usual Radon measure onB. For a fixed integer s≥1, we estimate exponential sums with harmonic sums individually and on average, where Hs(n) is computed modulo a prime p. These bounds are used to derive new results about various congruences modulo p involving Hs(n). For example, our estimates imply that for any ɛ>0, the set {Hs(n):n<p1/2+ɛ} is uniformly distributed modulo a sufficiently large p. We also show that every residue class λ can be represented as with max{nν|ν=1,. . . , 7}≤p11/12+ɛ, and we obtain an asymptotic formula for the number of such representations. The same results hold also for the values Bpr(n) of Bernoulli polynomials where r is fixed, complementing some results of W. L. Fouche. During the preparation of this paper, F. We present a quantitative form of the result of Bai and Yin from [2], and use to show that the section of ℓ 1 (1+δ)n spanned byn random independent sign vectors is with high probability isomorphic to euclidean with isomorphism constant polynomial in δ−1. Let M^n be a smooth, compact manifold without boundary, and F0 : M^n→ R^n+1 a smooth immersion which is convex. The one-parameter families F(·, t) : M^n× [0, T) → R^n+1 of hypersurfaces Mt^n= F(·,t)(M^n) satisfy an initial value problem dF/dt (·,t) = -H^k(· ,t)v(· ,t), F(· ,0) = F0(· ), where H is the mean curvature and u(·,t) is the outer unit normal at F(·, t), such that -Hu = H is the mean curvature vector, and k 〉 0 is a constant. This problem is called H^k-fiow. Such flow will develop singularities after finite time. According to the blow-up rate of the square norm of the second fundamental forms, the authors analyze the structure of the rescaled limit by classifying the singularities as two types, i.e., Type Ⅰ and Type Ⅱ. It is proved that for Type Ⅰ singularity, the limiting hypersurface satisfies an elliptic equation; for Type Ⅱ singularity, the limiting hypersurface must be a translating soliton.  相似文献

The main goal of this paper is to extend the approximation theorem of contiuous functions by Haar polynomials (see Theorem A) to infinite matrices (see Theorem C). The extension to the matricial framework will be based on the one hand on the remark that periodic functions which belong toL (T) may be one-to-one identified with Toeplitz matrices fromB(l 2) (see Theorem 0) and on the other hand on some notions given in the paper. We mention for instance:ms—a unital commutative subalgebra ofl ,C(l 2) the matricial analogue of the space of all continuous periodic functionsC(T), the matricial Haar polynomials, etc. In Section 1 we present some results concerning the spacems—a concept important for this generalization, the proof of the main theorem being given in the second section. In this paper, we define the notion of asymptotic spirallikeness (a generalization of asymptotic starlikeness) in the Euclidean space ℂ n . We consider the connection between this notion and univalent subordination chains. We introduce the notions of A-asymptotic spirallikeness and A-parametric representation, where AL(ℂ n , ℂ n ), and prove that if dt < ∞ (this integral is convergent if k +(A) < 2m(A)), then a mapping fS(B n ) is A-asymptotically spirallike if and only if f has A-parametric representation, i.e., if and only if there exists a univalent subordination chain f(z, t) such that D f(0, t) = e At , {e −At f(·, t)} t≥0 is a normal family on B n and f = f(·, 0). In particular, a spirallike mapping with respect to AL(ℂ n , ℂ n ) with dt < ∞ has A-parametric representation. We also prove that if f is a spirallike mapping with respect to an operator A such that A + A* = 2I n , then f has parametric representation (i.e., with respect to the identity). A Mendelsohn triple system of order ν, MTS(ν) for short, is a pair (X, B) where X is a ν-set (of points) and B is a collection of cyclic triples on X such that every ordered pair of distinct points from X appears in exactly one cyclic triple of B. The cyclic triple (a, b, c) contains the ordered pairs (a, b), (b, c) and (c, a). An MTS(ν) corresponds to an idempotent semisymmetric Latin square (quasigroup) of order ν. An MTS(ν) is called frame self-orthogonal, FSOMTS for short, if its associated semisymmetric Latin square is frame self-orthogonal. It is known that an FSOMTS(1 n ) exists for all n≡1 (mod 3) except n=10 and for all n≥15, n≡0 (mod 3) with possible exception that n=18. In this paper, it is shown that (i) an FSOMTS(2 n ) exists if and only if n≡0,1 (mod 3) and n>5 with possible exceptions n∈{9, 27, 33, 39}; (ii) an FSOMTS(3 n ) exists if and only if n≥4, with possible exceptions that n∈{6, 14, 18, 19}. *Research supported by NSFC 10371002 *Partially supported by National Science Foundation under Grant CCR-0098093  相似文献

Let d(n), σ 1(n), and φ(n) stand for the number of positive divisors of n, the sum of the positive divisors of n, and Euler’s function, respectively. For each ν ∈, Z, we obtain asymptotic formulas for the number of integers nx for which e n = 2 v r for some odd integer m as well as for the number of integers nx for which e n = 2 v r for some odd rational number r. Our method also applies when φ(n) is replaced by σ 1(n), thus, improving upon an earlier result of Bateman, Erdős, Pomerance, and Straus, according to which the set of integers n such that is an integer is of density 1/2. Let B be the Brownian motion on a noncompact non Euclidean rank one symmetric space H. A typical examples is an hyperbolic space H n , n > 2. For ν > 0, the Brownian bridge B (ν) of length ν on H is the process B t , 0 ≤t≤ν, conditioned by B 0 = B ν = o, where o is an origin in H. It is proved that the process converges weakly to the Brownian excursion when ν→ + ∞ (the Brownian excursion is the radial part of the Brownian Bridge on ℝ3). We consider the pseudo-Euclidean space (R n , g), with n ≥ 3 and g ij = δ ij ε i , ε i = ±1, where at least one ε i = 1 and nondiagonal tensors of the form T = Σ ij f ij dx i dx j such that, for ij, f ij (x i , x j ) depends on x i and x j . We provide necessary and sufficient conditions for such a tensor to admit a metric ḡ, conformal to g, that solves the Ricci tensor equation or the Einstein equation. Similar problems are considered for locally conformally flat manifolds. Examples are provided of complete metrics on R n , on the n-dimensional torus T n and on cylinders T k ×R n-k , that solve the Ricci equation or the Einstein equation. A dynamical Borel-Cantelli lemma asserts that for certain sequences of subsetsA n ⊃ X and μ-almost every pointx∈X the inclusionT n x∈A n holds for infinitely manyn. We discuss here systems which are either symbolic (topological) Markov chain or Anosov diffeomorphisms preserving Gibbs measures. In this paper we establish dimension freeL p (ℝ n ,|x|α) norm inequalities (1<p<∞) for the oscillation and variation of the Riesz transforms in ℝ n . In doing so we findA p -weighted norm inequalities for the oscillation and the variation of the Hilbert transform in ℝ. Some weighted transference results are also proved.
