BaAl2O4:Eu2+,Nd3+,Gd3+ phosphors were prepared by a combustion method at different initiating temperatures (400–1200 °C), using urea as a comburent. The powders were annealed at different temperatures in the range of 400–1100 °C for 3 h. X-ray diffraction data show that the crystallinity of the BaAl2O4 structure greatly improved with increasing annealing temperature. Blue-green photoluminescence, with persistent/long afterglow, was observed at 498 nm. This emission was attributed to the 4f65d1–4f7 transitions of Eu2+ ions. The phosphorescence decay curves were obtained by irradiating the samples with a 365 nm UV light. The glow curves of the as-prepared and the annealed samples were investigated in this study. The thermoluminescent (TL) glow peaks of the samples prepared at 600 °C and 1200 °C were both stable at ∼72 °C suggesting that the traps responsible for the bands were fixed at this position irrespective of annealing temperature. These bands are at a similar position, which suggests that the traps responsible for these bands are similar. The rate of decay of the sample annealed at 600 °C was faster than that of the sample prepared at 1200 °C.  相似文献

SrAl2O4:Eu2+,Dy3+ thin films were grown on Si (1 0 0) substrates using the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique to investigate the effect of vacuum, oxygen (O2) and argon (Ar) deposition atmospheres on the structural, morphological, photoluminescence (PL) and cathodoluminescence (CL) properties of the films. The films were ablated using a 248 nm KrF excimer laser. Atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and fluorescence spectrophotometry were used to characterize the thin films. Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) combined with CL spectroscopy were employed for the surface characterization and electron-beam induced degradation of the films. Better PL intensities were obtained from the unannealed films prepared in Ar and O2 atmospheres with respect to those prepared in vacuum. A stable green emission peak at 515 nm, attributed to 4f65d1→4f7 Eu2+ transitions were obtained with less intense peaks at 619 nm, which were attributed to transitions in Eu3+. After annealing the films prepared in vacuum at 800 °C for 2 h, the intensity of the green emission (520 nm) of the thin film increased considerably. The amorphous thin film was crystalline after the annealing process. The CL intensity increased under prolonged electron bombardment during the removal of C due to electron stimulated surface chemical reactions (ESSCRs) on the surface of the SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ thin films. The CL stabilized and stayed constant thereafter.  相似文献

The amorphous thin film was crystalline after the annealing process. The diffusion of adventitious C into the nanostructured layers deposited in the Ar and O2 atmospheres was most probably responsible for the quenching of the PL intensity after annealing.  相似文献

Auger electron/X-ray photoelectron and cathodoluminescent (CL) spectroscopic studies were conducted on pulsed laser deposited SrAl2O4:Eu2+,Dy3+ thin films and the correlation between the surface chemical reactions and the decrease in the CL intensity was determined. The Auger electron and the CL data were collected simultaneously in a vacuum chamber either maintained at base pressure or backfilled with oxygen gas. The data were collected when the films were irradiated for 14 h with 2 keV electrons. The CL emission peak attributed to the 4f65d1 → 4f7 transitions was observed at ∼521 nm and the CL intensity of the peaks degraded at different rates in different vacuum conditions. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) data collected from degraded films suggest that strontium oxide (SrO) and aliminium oxide (Al2O3) were formed on the surface of the film as a result of electron stimulated surface chemical reaction (ESSCR).  相似文献

Eu2+ and Dy3+ co-doped calcium aluminate, barium aluminate and strontium aluminate phosphors were synthesized at an initiating combustion temperature of 500 °C using urea as an organic fuel. The crystallinity of the phosphors was investigated by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the morphology was determined by a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The low temperature monoclinic structure for both CaAl2O4 and SrAl2O4 and the hexagonal structure of BaAl2O4 were observed. The effect of the host materials on the photoluminescence (PL) and phosphorescence properties were investigated by using a He-Cd Laser and a Cary Eclipse fluorescence spectrophotometer, respectively. The broad band emission spectra observed at 449 nm for CaAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+, 450 nm (with a shoulder-peak at 500 nm) for BaAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ and 528 nm for SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ are attributed to the 4f65d1 to 4f7 transition in the Eu2+ ion in the different hosts.  相似文献

Sr3MgSi2O8:Eu2+ and Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+ phosphors find uses in applications such as plasma display panel (PDP), solid-state lighting, longafter glow. Preparation of these phosphors by a modified combustion synthesis is described in this paper. As-prepared samples did not show photoluminescence. After reducing the samples at 900 °C, characteristic Eu2+ emission was observed. Preparation of these phosphors by using similar methods helped clarifying various results obtained for Sr3MgSi2O8:Eu2+ by different investigators.  相似文献

In this study, green-emitting Na2CaPO4F:Eu2+ phosphors were synthesized by solid-state reactions. The excitation spectra of the phosphors showed a broad hump between 250 and 450 nm; the spectra match well with the near-ultraviolet (NUV) emission spectra of light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The emission spectrum showed an intense broad emission band centered at 506 nm. White LEDs were fabricated by integrating a 390 nm NUV chip comprising blue-emitting BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+, green-emitting Na2CaPO4F:0.02 Eu2+, and red-emitting CaAlSiN3:Eu2+ phosphors into a single package; the white LEDs exhibited white light with a correlated color temperature of 5540 K, a color-rendering index of 90.75, and color coordinates (0.332, 0.365) close to those of ideal white light.  相似文献

Strontium aluminate phosphors are ideal for luminescent infrastructure materials. Their brightness and persistent glow time are much higher than previously used sulphide phosphors. Strontium aluminates prepared by the sol–gel and combustion methods are compared with commercially available strontium aluminate. High luminescent efficient SrAl2O4:Eu2+,Dy3+ pulsed laser deposited (PLD) thin films were also produced using the commercially available powder. Photoluminescence (PL) degradation studies showed that the phosphor intensity decreased about 20% over a period of 2 weeks under ultraviolet (UV) irradiation. Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) showed that cathodoluminescence (CL) degradation is due to the formation of SrO due to electron stimulated surface reactions. The light output mechanism of the phosphor is also discussed in more detail.  相似文献

Needle-like SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ phosphors had been prepared by calcining the precursors obtained from hydrothermal process at the temperature of 1100 °C in a weak reductive atmosphere of active carbon. The crystal structure, morphology and optical properties of the composites were characterized. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns illustrated that the single-phase SrAl2O4 was formed at 1100 °C, which is much lower than that prepared by the traditional method. The transmission electron microscope (TEM) observation revealed the precursors and the resulted SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ phosphors had well-dispersed distribution and needle-like morphology with an average diameter about 150 nm at the center and the length up to 1 μm. After irradiation by ultraviolet radiation with 350 nm for 5 min, the phosphors emit green color long-lasting phosphorescence corresponding to the typical emission of Eu2+ ion, both the PL spectra and luminance decay revealed that the phosphors had efficient luminescent and long lasting properties.  相似文献

The emission properties of Eu2+ and Mn2+ in monoclinic SrAl2Si2O8 (M-SAS) and hexagonal BaAl2Si2O8 (H-BAS), both of which have only one alkaline-earth site, were studied. The emission peaks of both Eu2+ (405 nm) and Mn2+ (564 nm) in SrAl2Si2O8, are located at longer wavelengths, compared with those in H-BAS (373 nm for Eu2+ and 518 nm for Mn2+), because of the stronger crystal field strength at the Sr site. EPR spectra showed that the g values of Mn2+ are 4.5065 in M-SAS:Mn and 2.0247 in H-BAS:Mn. Magnetic measurements proved that Mn2+ was at high-spin state in both hosts. The large g value of Mn2+ in M-SAS was ascribed to the mixing of the first excitation state to the ground state, both of which have lower d orbital degeneracy due to the lower symmetry of Mn2+ site. The transfer efficiency from Eu2+ to Mn2+was about 10% in M-SAS, higher than that in H-BAS (5%). This was probably because Eu2+ emission overlaps the relatively low excitation level of Mn2+ in M-SAS. In order to obtain high transfer efficiency, it was necessary for the Eu2+ emission to overlap the lowest excitation level of Mn2+. The results obtained in this work may be helpful to design the new white or red phosphors for white-light emitting diode (w-LED) applications.  相似文献

The current work reports on the influence of the number of laser pulses on the morphological and photoluminescence properties of SrAl2O4:Eu2+,Dy3+ thin films prepared by the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) was used to study the surface topography and morphology of the films. The AFM data showed that the film deposited using a higher number of laser pulses was packed with a uniform layer of coarse grains. In addition, the surface of this film was shown to be relatively rougher than the films deposited at a lower number of pulses. Photoluminescence (PL) data were collected using the Cary Eclipse fluorescence spectrophotometer equipped with a monochromatic xenon lamp. An intense green photoluminescence was observed at 517 nm from the films prepared using a higher number of laser pulses. Consistent with the PL data, the decay time of the film deposited using a higher number of pulses was characteristically longer than those of the other films. The effects of laser pulses on morphology, topography and photoluminescence intensity of the SrAl2O4:Eu2+,Dy3+ thin films are discussed.  相似文献

The Ca2.95−yDy0.05B2O6:yNa+ (0≤y≤0.20) phosphors were synthesized at 1100 °C in air by the solid-state reaction route. The as-synthesized phosphors were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), photoluminescence excitation (PLE), photoluminescence (PL) spectra and thermoluminescence (TL) spectra. The PLE spectra show the excitation peaks from 300 to 400 nm due to the 4f-4f transitions of Dy3+. This mercury-free excitation is useful for solid-state lighting and light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The emission of Dy3+ ions on 350 nm excitation was observed at 480 nm (blue) due to the 4F9/26H15/2 transitions, 575 nm (yellow) due to 4F9/26H13/2 transitions and 660 nm (red) due to weak 4F9/26H11/2 emissions. The PL results from the investigated Ca2.95−yDy0.05B2O6:yNa+ phosphors show that Dy3+ emissions increase with the increase of the Na+ codoping ions. The integral intensity of yellow to blue (Y/B) can be tuned by controlling Na+ content. By the simulation of white light, the optimal CIE value (0.328, 0.334) can be achieved when the content of Na+-codoping ions is y=0.2. The results imply that the Ca2.95−yDy0.05B2O6:yNa+ phosphors could be potentially used as white LEDs.  相似文献

Ce3+ and Dy3+ activated Li2CaGeO4 phosphors were prepared by a solid-state reaction method, and characterized by XRD (X-ray diffraction) and photoluminescence techniques. The characteristic emission bands of Dy3+ due to 4F9/26H15/2 (blue) and 4F9/26H13/2 (yellow) transitions were detected in the emission spectra of Li2CaGeO4:Dy3+. Ce3+ broad band emission was observed in Li2CaGeO4:Ce3+ phosphors at 372 and 400 nm due to 5d→4f transition when excited at 353 nm. Co-doping of Ce3+ enhanced the luminescence of Dy3+ significantly and concentration quenching occurs when Dy3+ is beyond 0.04 mol%. White-light with different hues can be realized by tuning Dy3+ concentration in the phosphors.  相似文献

Although aluminate phosphors have attracted great interest for applications in lamps, cathode ray tubes and plasma display panels, there still remain issues affecting operational parameters such as luminescence efficiency, stability against temperature, high color purity and perfect decay time. In addition, issues involving important aspects of the monoclinic↔hexagonal phase transition temperature still exist. In this work, SrAlxOy:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphor powders were prepared by the sol–gel method. X-ray diffraction (XRD) has shown that both crystallinity and crystallite sizes increased as the temperature increased. Both SrAl2O4 and Sr2Al3O6 phases were observed. Photoluminescence (PL) characterization shows temperature-dependence, which indicates emission at low and high annealing temperatures originating from Eu2+ and Eu3+ ions. Thermoluminescence glow and decay measurements provided useful insight on the influence of traps on luminescence behavior. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric studies (TGA) on composites of the phosphor in low density polyethylene (LDPE) demonstrated the varied influence of annealing temperature on some luminescence and thermal properties.  相似文献

Combustion method was used in this study to prepare BaAl2O4:Eu2+ phosphors co-doped with different trivalent rare-earths (Re3+=Dy3+, Nd3+, Gd3+, Sm3+, Ce3+, Er3+, Pr3+ and Tb3+) ions at an initiating temperature of 600 °C. The phosphors were annealed at 1000 °C for 3 h. As confirmed from the X-ray diffraction (XRD) data, both as prepared and post annealed samples crystallized in the well known hexagonal structure of BaAl2O4. All samples exhibited bluish-green emission associated with the 4f65d1→4f7 transitions of Eu2+ at ∼500 nm. Although the highest intensity was observed from Er3+ co-doping, the longest afterglow (due to trapping and detrapping of charge carriers) was observed from Nd3+ followed by Dy3+ co-doping. The traps responsible for the long afterglow were studied using thermoluminescence (TL) spectroscopy.  相似文献

A novel and efficient method of providing moisture resistance of inorganic particles such as divalent europium activated strontium aluminate phosphors (Sr4Al14O25:Eu2+/Dy3+) was developed by firing the phosphor in the presence of appropriate amount of ammonium fluoride at a temperature of 600-700 °C. Scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, FT-IR, EDAX and Photoluminescence measurements were carried out to characterize the uncoated and coated samples. The pH measurements were carried out for the water resistivity measurements. The phosphor particles became coated with a moisture-impervious thin coating that did not suppress the luminescence of the phosphor and can withstand complete immersion in water for long periods of time, showing very high water resistivity.  相似文献

A red-emitting phosphor material, Gd2Ti2O7:Eu3+, V4+, by added vanadium ions is synthesized using the sol-gel method. Phosphor characterization by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy shows that the phosphor possesses a good crystalline structure, while scanning electron microscopy reveals a uniform phosphor particle size in the range of 230-270 nm. X-ray photon electron spectrum analysis demonstrates that the V4+ ion promotes an electron dipole transition of Gd2Ti2O7:Eu3+ phosphors, causing a new red-emitting phenomenon, and CIE value shifts to x=0.63, y=0.34 (a purer red region) from x=0.57, y=0.33 (CIE of Gd2Ti2O7:Eu3+). The optimal composition of the novel red-emitting phosphor is about 26% of V4+ ions while the material is calcinated at 800  °C. The results of electroluminescent property of the material by field emission experiment by CNT-contained cathode agreed well with that of photoluminescent analysis.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel phosphor, Y6W2O15:Eu3+ was synthesized by thermal decomposition and phase transition of its decatungstate gel precursor. With stepwise increase of temperature to 750 °C, a crystalline phase of Y6W2O15:Eu3+forms that gives intense red emission when excited at 466 nm, the emission is attributed to the Eu3+ ions transitions from 5D0 excited states to 7FJ (J=0-4) ground states. The long excitation wavelength proves the Eu3+ transition follows the photoexcitation of the oxygen-metal (O→W lmct) charge transfer bands in yttrium tungstate. Some structural information regarding Y6W2O15 provided by luminescence is in accord with that characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The long-wavelength excitation properties of this material may find application in the production of red phosphors for white light-emitting diodes (LEDs).  相似文献

Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+, Dy3+ phosphors were prepared by the (aminopropyl)-triethoxysilane (APTES) co-precipitation method. Effects of synthesis temperature on the crystal characteristics, luminescent properties and afterglow performance of Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+, Dy3+ phosphors have been discussed in detail and compared with the corresponding commercial product. The experimental results indicated that the sample could be synthesized at a relatively lower temperature and had better performance on the above-mentioned properties using the co-precipitation method.  相似文献

In the present paper, phosphors with the composition Y3−x−yAl5O12:Bi3+x, Dy3+y were synthesized with solid state reactions. The luminescence properties of Bi3+ and Dy3+ in Y3Al5O12(YAG) and the energy transfer from Bi3+ to Dy3+ were investigated in detail. Bi3+ in YAG emits one broad band peaking at 304 nm which can be ascribed to the transition from excited states 3P0, 1 to ground state 1S0. Dy3+ in YAG emits two groups of peaks around 484 and 583 nm, respectively, which can be ascribed to the transitions from excited state 4F9/2 to ground states 6H15/2 and 6H13/2. The co-doping of Bi3+ enhances the luminescent intensity of Dy3+ by ∼7 times because Bi3+ can transfer the absorbed energy to Dy3+ efficiently. The mechanism of energy transfer was also discussed.  相似文献
