Long persistent SrAl2O4:Eu2+ phosphors co-doped with Dy3+ were prepared by the solid state reaction method. The main diffraction peaks of the monoclinic structure of SrAl2O4 were observed in all the samples. The broad band emission spectra at 497 nm for SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ were observed and the emission is attributed to the 4f65d1 to 4f7 transition of Eu2+ ions. The samples annealed at 1100–1200 °C showed similar broad TL glow curves centered at 120 °C. The similar TL glow curves suggest that the traps responsible for them are similar. The long afterglow displayed by the phosphors annealed at different temperatures, may be attributed to the Dy3+ ions acting as the hole trap levels, which play an important role in prolonging the duration of luminescence.  相似文献

BaAl2O4:Eu2+,Nd3+,Gd3+ phosphors were prepared by a combustion method at different initiating temperatures (400–1200 °C), using urea as a comburent. The powders were annealed at different temperatures in the range of 400–1100 °C for 3 h. X-ray diffraction data show that the crystallinity of the BaAl2O4 structure greatly improved with increasing annealing temperature. Blue-green photoluminescence, with persistent/long afterglow, was observed at 498 nm. This emission was attributed to the 4f65d1–4f7 transitions of Eu2+ ions. The phosphorescence decay curves were obtained by irradiating the samples with a 365 nm UV light. The glow curves of the as-prepared and the annealed samples were investigated in this study. The thermoluminescent (TL) glow peaks of the samples prepared at 600 °C and 1200 °C were both stable at ∼72 °C suggesting that the traps responsible for the bands were fixed at this position irrespective of annealing temperature. These bands are at a similar position, which suggests that the traps responsible for these bands are similar. The rate of decay of the sample annealed at 600 °C was faster than that of the sample prepared at 1200 °C.  相似文献

Eu2+ and Dy3+ co-doped calcium aluminate, barium aluminate and strontium aluminate phosphors were synthesized at an initiating combustion temperature of 500 °C using urea as an organic fuel. The crystallinity of the phosphors was investigated by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the morphology was determined by a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The low temperature monoclinic structure for both CaAl2O4 and SrAl2O4 and the hexagonal structure of BaAl2O4 were observed. The effect of the host materials on the photoluminescence (PL) and phosphorescence properties were investigated by using a He-Cd Laser and a Cary Eclipse fluorescence spectrophotometer, respectively. The broad band emission spectra observed at 449 nm for CaAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+, 450 nm (with a shoulder-peak at 500 nm) for BaAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ and 528 nm for SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ are attributed to the 4f65d1 to 4f7 transition in the Eu2+ ion in the different hosts.  相似文献

This paper reports the photoluminescence and afterglow behavior of Eu2+ and Eu3+ in Sr3Al2O6 matrix co-doped with Dy3+. The samples containing Eu2+ and Eu3+ were prepared via solid-state reaction. X-ray diffraction (XRD), photo luminescent spectroscope (PLS) and thermal luminescent spectroscope (TLS) were employed to characterize the phosphors. The comparison between the emission spectra revealed that Sr3Al2O6 phosphors doped with Eu2+, Dy3+ and Eu3+, Dy3+ showed different photoluminescence. The phosphor doped with Eu3+, Dy3+ showed an intrinsic f-f transition generated from Eu3+, with two significant emissions at 591 and 610 nm. However, the phosphor doped with Eu2+, Dy3+ revealed a broad d-f emission centering around 512 nm. After the UV source was turned off, Eu2+, Dy3+ activated Sr3Al2O6 phosphor showed excellent afterglow while Eu3+, Dy3+ activated phosphor almost showed no afterglow. Thermal simulated luminescence study indicated that the persistent afterglow of Sr3Al2O6: Eu2+, Dy3+ phosphor was generated by suitable electron traps formed by the co-doped rare-earth ions (Dy3+) within the host.  相似文献

Needle-like SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ phosphors had been prepared by calcining the precursors obtained from hydrothermal process at the temperature of 1100 °C in a weak reductive atmosphere of active carbon. The crystal structure, morphology and optical properties of the composites were characterized. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns illustrated that the single-phase SrAl2O4 was formed at 1100 °C, which is much lower than that prepared by the traditional method. The transmission electron microscope (TEM) observation revealed the precursors and the resulted SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ phosphors had well-dispersed distribution and needle-like morphology with an average diameter about 150 nm at the center and the length up to 1 μm. After irradiation by ultraviolet radiation with 350 nm for 5 min, the phosphors emit green color long-lasting phosphorescence corresponding to the typical emission of Eu2+ ion, both the PL spectra and luminance decay revealed that the phosphors had efficient luminescent and long lasting properties.  相似文献

Photoluminescent phosphors CaGa2S4: Eu2+, RE3+ (RE3+ including all rare earth ions except for Sc3+, Pm3+, Eu3+ and Lu3+) were prepared by sintering at high temperature in a reductive atmosphere, and their luminescent properties were studied intensively. The influences of co-doping rare earth ions on their luminescent properties were also investigated. No remarkable differences were found from excitation spectra of co-doped phosphors CaGa2S4: Eu2+, RE3+ in contrast with that of phosphor CaGa2S4: Eu2+, but there were a few differences in emission spectra of Ce3+, Pr3+ or Ho3+ co-doped phosphors. Phosphors CaGa2S4: Eu2+, RE3+ (RE=Ce, Pr, Gd, Tb, Ho and Y) had persistent afterglow, and very short afterglow was shown for Nd3+ or Er3+ co-doped phosphors, but no long afterglow appeared when auxiliary activator was La3+, Sm3+, Dy3+, Tm3+ or Yb3+. Among the phosphors with long-lasting phosphorescence, in our experiments, CaGa2S4: Eu2+, Ho3+ had the longest and the highest brightness long yellow afterglow. Thermo-luminescence of all co-doped phosphors was measured to find the answer of different influences from different rare earth auxiliary activators.  相似文献

CaAl2O4:Eu2+ co-doped with varying concentrations of Er3+ was prepared by solid-state reaction method. Prepared materials with 1 mol% Eu2+ and 2-10 mol% of Er3+ were investigated for their photoluminescence properties. Phase, morphology and crystalline structure were investigated by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Broad band UV-excited luminescence was observed for CaAl2O4:Eu2+, Er3+ in the blue region (λmax=440 nm) due to transitions from 4f65d1 to the 4f7 configuration of the Eu2+ ion. The Er3+ ion co-doping generates deep traps, which results in longer decay time for phosphorescence.  相似文献

Phosphor material BaAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ with varying compositions of Sr substitution were prepared by the solid-state synthesis method. The phosphor compositions were characterized for their phase and crystallinity by XRD, SEM and TEM. Photoluminescence (PL) properties were investigated measuring PL and decay time for varying Ba/Sr compositions. The PL results show the blue shift in the luminescence properties in Sr substituted BaAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ compared to parent BaAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+. It is probably due to the influence of 5d electron states of Eu2+ in the crystal field because of atomic size variation causing crystal defects. Dy3+ ion doping in the phosphor generates deep traps, which results in long afterglow phosphorescence.  相似文献

The thermo-luminescence (TL) of rare earth ions RE3+ (RE=Ln, excluding Pm, Eu and Lu) co-doped phosphors CaGa2S4:Eu2+, RE3+ was studied between room temperature and 300 °C, and 3D thermo-luminescence of the phosphors were measured from room temperature to 400 °C. The basic material CaGa2S4:Eu2+, showed at least two bands in the TL glow curve. Changing the auxiliary activator RE3+ (rare earth ion), intensities and the positions of the TL glow curve peaks were affected significantly. For the phosphors with long afterglow, auxiliary activator such as Ce3+, Pr3+, Gd3+, Tb3+, Ho3+, or Y3+ created some new defects in these compounds at lower trap levels and enhanced their TL intensities. The Nd3+ or Er3+ auxiliary activator only enhanced TL intensities to a low extent, so these two phosphors have short persistent luminescence at room temperature. TL intensities of La3+, Sm3+, Tm3+ or Yb3+ co-doped phosphors were suppressed greatly and no afterglow was shown. The relationship between auxiliary activators and corresponding thermo-luminescence curves of phosphors CaGa2S4:Eu2+, RE3+ are discussed in detail. According to our results, suitable activation energy and enough high corresponding trap density are necessary for the phosphor with long afterglow.  相似文献

The Sr2Si5N8:Eu2+ phosphors, both undoped and doped with Tm3+, were synthesized by high temperature solid-state method. The XRD pattern shows that only Sr2Si5N8 phase is formed whatever Tm3+ was doped or not. The peak positions of both phosphors are centered at 612 nm which is assigned to the 4f65d→4f7 transition of Eu2+. It implies that the crystal field, which affects the 5d electron states of Eu2+, is not changed dramatically after the phosphor is doped with Tm3+. The afterglow time is about 10 min after Tm3+ ion is introduced into the phosphor. The concentration of Tm3+ has little influence on the afterglow time of the phosphor. The depths of trap energy level of the two phosphors were calculated based on the TL spectra. The depths of Sr2Si5N8:Eu2+ and Sr2Si5N8:Eu2+, Tm3+ are 1.75 and 1.01 eV, respectively.  相似文献

Using urea as fuel, SrMgAl10O17:Eu, Dy phosphor was prepared by a combustion method. Its luminescence properties under ultraviolet (UV) excitation were investigated. Pure SrMgAl10O17 phase was formed by urea-nitrate solution combustion synthesis at 550 °C. The results indicated that the emission spectra of SrMgAl10O17:Eu, Dy has one main peak at 460 nm and one shoulder peak near 516 nm, which are ascribed to two different types of luminescent Eu2+ centers existing in the SrMgAl10O17 matrix crystal. The blue luminescence emission of SrMgAl10O17:Eu phosphors was improved under UV excitation by codoping Dy3+ ions. The SrMgAl10O17:Eu phosphors showed green afterglow (λ=516 nm) when Dy3+ ions were doped. Dy3+ ions not only successfully play the role of sensitizer for energy transfer in the system, but also act as trap levels and capture the free holes in the spinel blocks.  相似文献

In this article, Sr2CeO4:x mol% Eu3+ and Sr2CeO4:5 mol%Eu3+, 3 mol% Dy3+ phosphors were synthesized from assembling hybrid precursors by wet chemical method. As-prepared samples present uniform grain-like morphology and the particle size is about 0.2 μm. The luminescence spectra of Sr2CeO4:x mol% Eu3+ have been measured to examine the influence of the intensity of red emission lines for Eu3+ on the concentration of Eu3+, showing that the intensity of the red emission increases with an increase of the concentration from 1 to 5 mol%. Additionally, from the emission spectra of Sr2CeO4:5 mol%Eu3+, 3 mol% Dy3+ phosphors, the characteristic lines of Dy3+ have also been observed. This result indicates that there also exists an energy transfer process between Sr2CeO4 and Dy3+.  相似文献

Polycrystalline KCaSO4Cl:Eu, Dy, KCaSO4Cl:Ce, Dy and KCaSO4Cl:Ce, Mn phosphors prepared by a solid state diffusion method have been studied for its photoluminescence (PL) characteristics. The presence of two overlapping bands at around 400 and 450 nm in the PL emission spectra of the phosphor suggests the presence of Eu2+ in the host compound occupying two different lattice sites. The effects of co-doping on the photoluminescence (PL) characteristics of KCaSO4Cl:Eu or Ce phosphors have been studied. The decrease in peak intensity of the phosphor on co-doping it with Dy gives an insight into the emission mechanism of the phosphors, which involves energy transfer from Eu2+→Dy3+, Ce3+→Dy3+ and Ce3+→Mn2+.  相似文献

Eu,Ti co-doped Y2O2S:0.03Ti,0.03Eu phosphors and single Eu or Ti doped Y2O2S phosphors were prepared and their luminescent properties were investigated in detail by photoluminescence (PL) spectra, long afterglow spectra and thermoluminescence spectra measurements. The results showed that Y2O2S:Ti,Eu phosphors possess orange-red afterglow color with afterglow time above 5 h. The reddish afterglow color, which corresponds to a set of linear Eu3+ emissions at low-energy range (540-630 nm), was demonstrated to come from the energy transfer process from yellow Ti afterglow emissions, the proposed energy transfer mechanism may well explain the Eu3+ afterglow emission.  相似文献

Current radiation dosimetry methods involve the release of trapped charge carriers in the form of electrons-holes pairs generated by irradiation exposure of the dosimetric materials. Thermal and optical stimulations of the irradiated material freed the trapped charges that eventually recombine with interband centers producing the emission of light. The integrated intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the radiation dose exposure. In this work, we present an UV radiation dosimetry technique based on the characteristic persistence luminescence (PLUM) 4f65d1→4f7 electronic transition of Eu2+ ions in SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+. The dose assessment is carried out by measuring the PLUM signal integrated during a certain time. The PLUM performance of SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ phosphor exhibited a linear behavior for the first 50 s of UV irradiation. For higher UV time exposure the behavior is sublinear with no apparent saturation during a 10 min period. The PLUM dosimetry response was performed at 400 nm that corresponds to the main band component of the PLUM excitation spectrum in the 250-500 nm range. The main advantage of a dosimeter device based on the PLUM of SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ is that neither thermal nor optical stimulation is required, avoiding the need of cumbersome electronic photo/thermal stimulation equipment. Due to the highly efficient 250-500 nm PLUM response of SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+, it could have potential application as UV radiation dosimeter in the UV range of grate human health concerns caused by UV solar radiation.  相似文献

In this study, SrAl2O4:Eu2+,Dy3+ thin film phosphors were deposited on Si (1 0 0) substrates using the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique. The films were deposited at different substrate temperatures in the range of 40-700 °C. The structure, morphology and topography of the films were determined by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). Photoluminescence (PL) data was collected in air at room temperature using a 325 nm He-Cd laser as an excitation source. The PL spectra of all the films were characterized by green phosphorescent photoluminescence at ∼530 nm. This emission was attributed to 4f65d1→4f7 transition of Eu2+. The highest PL intensity was observed from the films deposited at a substrate temperature of 400 °C. The effects of varying substrate temperature on the PL intensity were discussed.  相似文献

A series of Dy3+-doped calcium magnesium silicate phosphors: CaMgSi2O6:Dy3+, Ca2MgSi2O7:Dy3+, and Ca3MgSi2O8:Dy3+ with white long-lasting afterglow were prepared and investigated. The characteristic intra-configurational 4f emissions of Dy3+ were observed in the emission spectra as well as the afterglow spectra under ultraviolet excitation. The combination of the 480 nm blue emission corresponding to the 4F9/26H15/2 transition and the 575 nm yellow emission corresponding to the 4F9/26H13/2 transition yielded white-light emission. The white-coloured afterglow emission can last more than 1 h for most of the samples under study. The concentration dependence of the ratio of the yellow emission intensity with blue emission intensity was also examined and found to be varied for the different hosts. The thermoluminescence spectra above room temperature are employed for the discussion of the origin of the traps and the mechanism of the persistent luminescence.  相似文献

Y2O3:Eu3+, Tb3+ phosphors with white emission are prepared with different doping concentration of Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions and synthesizing temperatures from 750 to 950 °C by the co-precipitation method. The resulted phosphors were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. The results of XRD indicate that the crystallinity of the synthesized samples increases with enhancing the firing temperature. The photoluminescence spectra indicate the Eu3+ and Tb3+ co-doped Y2O3 phosphors show five main emission peaks: three at 590, 611 and 629 nm originate from Eu3+ and two at 481 and 541 nm originate from Tb3+, under excitation of 250-320 nm irradition. The white light luminescence color could be changed by varying the excitation wavelength. Different concentrations of Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions were induced into the Y2O3 lattice and the energy transfer from Tb3+→Eu3+ ions in these phosphors was found. The Commission International de l’Eclairage (CIE) chromaticity shows that the Y2O3:Eu3+, Tb3+ phosphors can obtain an intense white emission.  相似文献

Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+, Dy3+ phosphors were prepared by the (aminopropyl)-triethoxysilane (APTES) co-precipitation method. Effects of synthesis temperature on the crystal characteristics, luminescent properties and afterglow performance of Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+, Dy3+ phosphors have been discussed in detail and compared with the corresponding commercial product. The experimental results indicated that the sample could be synthesized at a relatively lower temperature and had better performance on the above-mentioned properties using the co-precipitation method.  相似文献
