Hydroxylation of mesitylene by a nonheme manganese(IV)–oxo complex, [(N4Py)MnIV(O)]2+ ( 1 ), proceeds via one‐step hydrogen‐atom transfer (HAT) with a large deuterium kinetic isotope effect (KIE) of 3.2(3) at 293 K. In contrast, the same reaction with a triflic acid‐bound manganese(IV)‐oxo complex, [(N4Py)MnIV(O)]2+‐(HOTf)2 ( 2 ), proceeds via electron transfer (ET) with no KIE at 293 K. Interestingly, when the reaction temperature is lowered to less than 263 K in the reaction of 2 , however, the mechanism changes again from ET to HAT with a large KIE of 2.9(3). Such a switchover of the reaction mechanism from ET to HAT is shown to occur by changing only temperature in the boundary region between ET and HAT pathways when the driving force of ET from toluene derivatives to 2 is around ?0.5 eV. The present results provide a valuable and general guide to predict a switchover of the reaction mechanism from ET to the others, including HAT.  相似文献

Analysis of extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) data for the MnIV-oxo complexes [MnIV(O)(DMMN4py)]2+, [MnIV(O)(2pyN2B)]2+, and [MnIV(O)(2pyN2Q)]2+ (DMMN4py=N,N-bis(4-methoxy-3,5-dimethyl-2-pyridylmethyl)-N-bis(2-pyridyl)methylamine; 2pyN2B=(N-bis(1-methyl-2-benzimidazolyl)methyl-N-(bis-2-pyridylmethyl)amine, and 2pyN2Q=N,N-bis(2-pyridyl)-N,N-bis(2-quinolylmethyl)methanamine) afforded Mn=O and Mn−N bond lengths. The Mn=O distances for [MnIV(O)(DMMN4py)]2+ and [MnIV(O)(2pyN2B)]2+ are 1.72 and 1.70 Å, respectively. In contrast, the Mn=O distance for [MnIV(O)(2pyN2Q)]2+ was significantly longer (1.76 Å). We attribute this long distance to sample heterogeneity, which is reasonable given the reduced stability of [MnIV(O)(2pyN2Q)]2+. The Mn=O distances for [MnIV(O)(DMMN4py)]2+ and [MnIV(O)(2pyN2B)]2+ could only be well-reproduced using DFT-derived models that included strong hydrogen-bonds between second-sphere solvent 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol molecules and the oxo ligand. These results suggest an important role for the 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol solvent in stabilizing MnIV-oxo adducts. The DFT methods were extended to investigate the structure of the putative [MnIV(O)(N4py)]2+⋅(HOTf)2 adduct. These computations suggest that a MnIV-hydroxo species is most consistent with the available experimental data.  相似文献

Reactions of nonheme FeIII–superoxo and MnIV–peroxo complexes bearing a common tetraamido macrocyclic ligand (TAML), namely [(TAML)FeIII(O2)]2? and [(TAML)MnIV(O2)]2?, with nitric oxide (NO) afford the FeIII–NO3 complex [(TAML)FeIII(NO3)]2? and the MnV–oxo complex [(TAML)MnV(O)]? plus NO2?, respectively. Mechanistic studies, including density functional theory (DFT) calculations, reveal that MIII–peroxynitrite (M=Fe and Mn) species, generated in the reactions of [(TAML)FeIII(O2)]2? and [(TAML)MnIV(O2)]2? with NO, are converted into MIV(O) and .NO2 species through O?O bond homolysis of the peroxynitrite ligand. Then, a rebound of FeIV(O) with .NO2 affords [(TAML)FeIII(NO3)]2?, whereas electron transfer from MnIV(O) to .NO2 yields [(TAML)MnV(O)]? plus NO2?.  相似文献

Heme and nonheme-type flavone synthase enzymes, FS I and FS II are responsible for the synthesis of flavones, which play an important role in various biological processes, and have a wide range of biomedicinal properties including antitumor, antimalarial, and antioxidant activities. To get more insight into the mechanism of this curious enzyme reaction, nonheme structural and functional models were carried out by the use of mononuclear iron, [FeII(CDA-BPA*)]2+ (6) [CDA-BPA = N,N,N’,N’-tetrakis-(2-pyridylmethyl)-cyclohexanediamine], [FeII(CDA-BQA*)]2+ (5) [CDA-BQA = N,N,N’,N’-tetrakis-(2-quinolilmethyl)-cyclohexanediamine], [FeII(Bn-TPEN)(CH3CN)]2+ (3) [Bn-TPEN = N-benzyl-N,N’,N’-tris(2-pyridylmethyl)-1,2-diaminoethane], [FeIV(O)(Bn-TPEN)]2+ (9), and manganese, [MnII(N4Py*)(CH3CN)]2+ (2) [N4Py* = N,N-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-1,2-di(2-pyridyl)ethylamine)], [MnII(Bn-TPEN)(CH3CN)]2+ (4) complexes as catalysts, where the possible reactive intermediates, high-valent FeIV(O) and MnIV(O) are known and well characterised. The results of the catalytic and stoichiometric reactions showed that the ligand framework and the nature of the metal cofactor significantly influenced the reactivity of the catalyst and its intermediate. Comparing the reactions of [FeIV(O)(Bn-TPEN)]2+ (9) and [MnIV(O)(Bn-TPEN)]2+ (10) towards flavanone under the same conditions, a 3.5-fold difference in reaction rate was observed in favor of iron, and this value is three orders of magnitude higher than was observed for the previously published [FeIV(O)(N2Py2Q*)]2+ [N,N-bis(2-quinolylmethyl)-1,2-di(2-pyridyl)ethylamine] species.  相似文献

While alkylperoxomanganese(iii) (MnIII–OOR) intermediates are proposed in the catalytic cycles of several manganese-dependent enzymes, their characterization has proven to be a challenge due to their inherent thermal instability. Fundamental understanding of the structural and electronic properties of these important intermediates is limited to a series of complexes with thiolate-containing N4S ligands. These well-characterized complexes are metastable yet unreactive in the direct oxidation of organic substrates. Because the stability and reactivity of MnIII–OOR complexes are likely to be highly dependent on their local coordination environment, we have generated two new MnIII–OOR complexes using a new amide-containing N5 ligand. Using the 2-(bis((6-methylpyridin-2-yl)methyl)amino)-N-(quinolin-8-yl)acetamide (H6Medpaq) ligand, we generated the [MnIII(OOtBu)(6Medpaq)]OTf and [MnIII(OOCm)(6Medpaq)]OTf complexes through reaction of their MnII or MnIII precursors with tBuOOH and CmOOH, respectively. Both of the new MnIII–OOR complexes are stable at room-temperature (t1/2 = 5 and 8 days, respectively, at 298 K in CH3CN) and capable of reacting directly with phosphine substrates. The stability of these MnIII–OOR adducts render them amenable for detailed characterization, including by X-ray crystallography for [MnIII(OOCm)(6Medpaq)]OTf. Thermal decomposition studies support a decay pathway of the MnIII–OOR complexes by O–O bond homolysis. In contrast, direct reaction of [MnIII(OOCm)(6Medpaq)]+ with PPh3 provided evidence of heterolytic cleavage of the O–O bond. These studies reveal that both the stability and chemical reactivity of MnIII–OOR complexes can be tuned by the local coordination sphere.

A pair of room-temperature-stable MnIII–alkylperoxo complexes were characterized and shown to oxidize PPh3. Thermal decomposition studies provide evidence of both homolysis and heterolysis of the MnIII–alkylperoxo O–O bond.  相似文献

Recent efforts to model the reactivity of iron oxygenases have led to the generation of nonheme FeIII(OOH) and FeIV(O) intermediates from FeII complexes and O2 but using different cofactors. This diversity emphasizes the rich chemistry of nonheme Fe(ii) complexes with dioxygen. We report an original mechanistic study of the reaction of [(TPEN)FeII]2+ with O2 carried out by cyclic voltammetry. From this FeII precursor, reaction intermediates such as [(TPEN)FeIV(O)]2+, [(TPEN)FeIII(OOH)]2+ and [(TPEN)FeIII(OO)]+ have been chemically generated in high yield, and characterized electrochemically. These electrochemical data have been used to analyse and perform simulation of the cyclic voltammograms of [(TPEN)FeII]2+ in the presence of O2. Thus, several important mechanistic informations on this reaction have been obtained. An unfavourable chemical equilibrium between O2 and the FeII complex occurs that leads to the FeIII-peroxo complex upon reduction, similarly to heme enzymes such as P450. However, unlike in heme systems, further reduction of this latter intermediate does not result in O–O bond cleavage.  相似文献

High-valent iron(iv)-oxo species are key intermediates in the catalytic cycles of a range of O2-activating iron enzymes. This work presents a detailed study of the electronic structures of mononuclear ([FeIV(O)(L)(NCMe)]2+, 1, L = tris(3,5-dimethyl-4-methoxylpyridyl-2-methyl)amine) and dinuclear ([(L)FeIV(O)(μ-O)FeIV(OH)(L)]3+, 2) iron(iv) complexes using absorption (ABS), magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) spectroscopy and wave-function-based quantum chemical calculations. For complex 1, the experimental MCD spectra at 2–10 K are dominated by a broad positive band between 12 000 and 18 000 cm–1. As the temperature increases up to ∼20 K, this feature is gradually replaced by a derivative-shaped signal. The computed MCD spectra are in excellent agreement with experiment, which reproduce not only the excitation energies and the MCD signs of key transitions but also their temperature-dependent intensity variations. To further corroborate the assignments suggested by the calculations, the individual MCD sign for each transition is independently determined from the corresponding electron donating and accepting orbitals. Thus, unambiguous assignments can be made for the observed transitions in 1. The ABS/MCD data of complex 2 exhibit ten features that are assigned as ligand-field transitions or oxo- or hydroxo-to-metal charge transfer bands, based on MCD/ABS intensity ratios, calculated excitation energies, polarizations, and MCD signs. In comparison with complex 1, the electronic structure of the FeIV O site is not significantly perturbed by the binding to another iron(iv) center. This may explain the experimental finding that complexes 1 and 2 have similar reactivities toward C–H bond activation and O-atom transfer.  相似文献

X-ray structure analysis revealed that four types of novel manganese complexes, MnIV(N-EtO-sal)2, MnIII(N-PhO-sal)(L), [MnIV(5,6-Benzo-L)2(μ-O)]2 and MnIII(L-4-Me)3 have been found to be obtained by the reactions of KMnO4 with various tridentate Schiff base ligands (N-EtOH-salH, N-PhOH-salH and its derivatives) in dry MeCN, where N-EtOH-salH, N-PhOH-salH, LH, 5,6-Benzo-LH and L-4-MeH denote N-2-hydroxyethyl-salicylideneamine, N-2-hydroxyphenyl-salicylideneamine, 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-benzoxazole 2-(2-hydroxynaphthyl)-benzoxazole and 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-5-methylbenzoxazole, respectively. The reactions of KMnO4 and N-PhOH-salH and its derivatives have especially been found to afford benzoxazole derivatives which may be formed by intramolecular oxidative coupling between the phenolic oxygen atom of aminophenol moiety and the carbon atom of imine moiety.  相似文献

The title dinuclear di‐μ‐oxo‐bis[(1,4,8,11‐tetraazacyclotetradecane‐κ4N)manganese(III,IV)] diperchlorate nitrate complex, [Mn2O2(C10H24N4)2](ClO4)2(NO3) or [(cyclam)MnO]2(ClO4)2(NO3), was self‐assembled by the reaction of Mn2+ with 1,4,8,11‐tetraazacyclotetradecane in aqueous media. The structure of this compound consists of a centrosymmetric binuclear [(cyclam)MnO]3+ unit, two perchlorate anions and one nitrate anion. While the low‐temperature electron paramagnetic resonance spectra show a typical 16‐line signal for a di‐μ‐oxo MnIII/MnIV dimer, the magnetic susceptibility studies also confirm a characteristic antiferromagnetic coupling between the electronic spins of the MnIV and MnIII ions.  相似文献

Electrochemical reactions of manganese(III) complexes, MnIII(L)X (L; salen, salpn, 5-NO2–salen or 5-NO2–salpn, X; Cl, Br or NO2) and MnIII(L’)2X (L’; N-Bu-sal, N-Oct–sal, N-Oct–5-Br–sal or N-Oct–5-NO2–sal, X; Cl or Br), were investigated by voltammetry at a glassy carbon electrode in the absence/presence of Cl in acetonitrile solution. By the addition of Cl, oxidation processes of MnIII(L)X and MnIII(L’)2X have been found to be improved from quasi-reversible to reversible, and their oxidation products, [MnIV(L)X]+ and [MnIV(L’)2X]+, were stabilized by the combination with Cl resulting in [MnIV(L)Cl2] and [MnIV(L’)2Cl2], respectively. On the other hand, the reduction processes of MnIII(L)X and MnIII(L’)2Cl were not so significantly affected by Cl as those observed for their oxidation. Other types of manganese(III) complexes and iron(III) complex were also investigated. The present study may clarify the role of Cl being involved in OEC (oxygen-evolving center) in photosystem II.  相似文献

The complex [MnIV(napbh)2] (napbhH2 = N-(2-hydroxynaphthalen-1-yl)methylenebenzoylhydrazide) reacts with activated ruthenium(III) chloride in methanol in 1 : 1.2 molar ratio under reflux, giving heterobimetallic complexes, [MnIV(napbh)2RuIIICl3(H2O)] · [RuIII(napbhH)Cl2(H2O)] reacts with Mn(OAc)2·4H2O in methanol in 1 : 1.2 molar ratio under reflux to give [RuIII(napbhH)Cl2(H2O)MnII(OAc)2]. Replacement of aquo in these heterobimetallic complexes has been observed when the reactions are carried out in the presence of pyridine (py), 3-picoline (3-pic), or 4-picoline (4-pic). The molar conductances for these complexes in DMF indicates 1 : 1 electrolytes. Magnetic moment values suggest that these heterobimetallic complexes contain MnIV and RuIII or RuIII and MnII in the same structural unit. Electronic spectral studies suggest six coordinate metal ions. IR spectra reveal that the napbhH2 ligand coordinates in its enol form to MnIV and bridges to RuIII and in the keto form to RuIII and bridging to MnII.  相似文献

The catalytic systems [(BPMEN)FeII(CH3CN)2](ClO4)2/H2O2/CH3OOH and [(TPA)FeII(CH3CN)2](ClO4)2/H2O2/CH3OOH, where BPMEN = N,N′-dimethyl-N,N′-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-1,2-diaminoethane and TPA = tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine, provide selective olefin epoxidation. Proton NMR studies showed that the mononuclear iron(IV) oxo complexes [(L)FeIV=O]2+, with L = BPMEN or TPA, are present in the cited catalytic systems. These intermediates are the decomposition products of the acylperoxo complexes [(L)FeIII-O3CCH3]2+. Such a complex was observed by the 2H NMR technique at low temperatures. The [(L)FeIV=O]2+ and [(L)FeV=O]3+ oxo complexes are possible active species in the studied catalytic systems.  相似文献

Addition of an anionic donor to an MnV(O) porphyrinoid complex causes a dramatic increase in 2‐electron oxygen‐atom‐transfer (OAT) chemistry. The 6‐coordinate [MnV(O)(TBP8Cz)(CN)]? was generated from addition of Bu4N+CN? to the 5‐coordinate MnV(O) precursor. The cyanide‐ligated complex was characterized for the first time by Mn K‐edge X‐ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and gives Mn?O=1.53 Å, Mn?CN=2.21 Å. In combination with computational studies these distances were shown to correlate with a singlet ground state. Reaction of the CN? complex with thioethers results in OAT to give the corresponding sulfoxide and a 2e?‐reduced MnIII(CN)? complex. Kinetic measurements reveal a dramatic rate enhancement for OAT of approximately 24 000‐fold versus the same reaction for the parent 5‐coordinate complex. An Eyring analysis gives ΔH=14 kcal mol?1, ΔS=?10 cal mol?1 K?1. Computational studies fully support the structures, spin states, and relative reactivity of the 5‐ and 6‐coordinate MnV(O) complexes.  相似文献

The intramolecular gas‐phase reactivity of four oxoiron(IV) complexes supported by tetradentate N4 ligands ( L ) has been studied by means of tandem mass spectrometry measurements in which the gas‐phase ions [FeIV(O)( L )(OTf)]+ (OTf=trifluoromethanesulfonate) and [FeIV(O)( L )]2+ were isolated and then allowed to fragment by collision‐induced decay (CID). CID fragmentation of cations derived from oxoiron(IV) complexes of 1,4,8,11‐tetramethyl‐1,4,8,11‐tetraazacyclotetradecane (tmc) and N,N′‐bis(2‐pyridylmethyl)‐1,5‐diazacyclooctane ( L 8Py2) afforded the same predominant products irrespective of whether they were hexacoordinate or pentacoordinate. These products resulted from the loss of water by dehydrogenation of ethylene or propylene linkers on the tetradentate ligand. In contrast, CID fragmentation of ions derived from oxoiron(IV) complexes of linear tetradentate ligands N,N′‐bis(2‐pyridylmethyl)‐1,2‐diaminoethane (bpmen) and N,N′‐bis(2‐pyridylmethyl)‐1,3‐diaminopropane (bpmpn) showed predominant oxidative N‐dealkylation for the hexacoordinate [FeIV(O)( L )(OTf)]+ cations and predominant dehydrogenation of the diaminoethane/propane backbone for the pentacoordinate [FeIV(O)( L )]2+ cations. DFT calculations on [FeIV(O)(bpmen)] ions showed that the experimentally observed preference for oxidative N‐dealkylation versus dehydrogenation of the diaminoethane linker for the hexa‐ and pentacoordinate ions, respectively, is dictated by the proximity of the target C? H bond to the oxoiron(IV) moiety and the reactive spin state. Therefore, there must be a difference in ligand topology between the two ions. More importantly, despite the constraints on the geometries of the TS that prohibit the usual upright σ trajectory and prevent optimal σCH–σ* overlap, all the reactions still proceed preferentially on the quintet (S=2) state surface, which increases the number of exchange interactions in the d block of iron and leads thereby to exchange enhanced reactivity (EER). As such, EER is responsible for the dominance of the S=2 reactions for both hexa‐ and pentacoordinate complexes.  相似文献

A number of mononuclear manganese(II) and manganese(III) complexes have been synthesized from tridentate N2O aminophenol ligands (HL1–HL5) formed by reduction of corresponding Schiff bases with NaBH4. Three types of tridentate N2O aminophenols have been prepared by reducing with NaBH4which are (a) Schiff bases obtained by bromo salicylaldehyde reaction with N,N-dimethyl/N,N-diethyl ethylene diamine (HL1, HL2), (b) Schiff bases obtained by condensing salicylaldehyde/bromo salicylaldehyde and picolyl amine (HL3, HL4), (c) pyridine-2-aldehyde and 2-aminophenol (HL5). All the manganese complexes have been prepared by direct addition of manganese perchlorate to the corresponding ligands and were characterized by the combination of i.r., u.v.–vis spectroscopy, magnetic moments and electrochemical studies. The u.v.–vis spectra of all of the manganese(III) complexes show two weak d–d transitions in the 630–520 nm region, which support a distorted octahedral geometry. The electron transfer properties of all of the manganese(III) complexes (1–4 and 6) exhibit mostly similar characteristics consisting two redox couples corresponding to the MnIII → MnII reductions and MnIII → MnIV oxidations. The electronic effect on the potential has also been studied by changing different substituents in the ligands. In all cases, an electron-donating group stabilizes the higher oxidation state and electron withdrawing group prefers the lower oxidation state. The cyclic voltammogram of [MnII(L5)2] shows an irreversible oxidation MnII → MnIII at −0.88 V, followed by another quasi-reversible oxidation MnIII → MnIV at +0.48 V. The manganese(III) complex (3) [Mn(L3)2]ClO4has been characterized by X-ray crystallography.  相似文献

The cyclotriveratrylene-type ligands (±)-tris(iso-nicotinoyl)cyclotriguaiacylene L1 (±)-tris(4-pyridylmethyl)cyclotriguaiacylene L2 and (±)-tris{4-(4-pyridyl)benzyl}cyclotriguaiacylene L3 all feature 4-pyridyl donor groups and all form coordination polymers with CuI and/or CuII cations that show a remarkable range of framework topologies and structures. Complex [CuI 4CuII 1.5(L1)3(CN)6]·CN·n(DMF) 1 features a novel 3,4-connected framework of cyano-linked hexagonal metallo-cages. In complexes [Cu3(L2)4(H2O)3]·6(OTf)·n(DMSO) 2 and [Cu2(L3)2Br2(H2O)(DMSO)]·2Br·n(DMSO) 3 capsule-like metallo-cryptophane motifs are formed which linked through their metal vertices into a hexagonal 2D network of (43.123)(42.122) topology or a coordination chain. Complex [Cu2(L1)2(OTf)2(NMP)2(H2O)2]·2(OTf)·2NMP 4 has an interpenetrating 2D 3,4-connected framework of (4.62.8)(62.8)(4.62.82) topology with tubular channels. Complex [Cu(L1)(NCMe)]·BF4·2(CH3CN)·H2O 5 features a 2D network of 63 topology while the CuII analogue [Cu2(L1)2(NMP)(H2O)]·4BF4·12NMP·1.5H2O 6 has an interpenetrating (10,3)-b type structure and complex [Cu2(L2)2Br3(DMSO)]·Br·n(DMSO) 7 has a 2D network of 4.82 topology. Strategies for formation of coordination polymers with hierarchical spaces emerge in this work and complex 2 is shown to absorb fullerene-C60 through soaking the crystals in a toluene solution.  相似文献

Two new tetranuclear chalcocyanide cluster complexes, [{Mn(saloph)H2O}4Re4Q4(CN)12]?4 CH3OH? 8 H2O (saloph=N,N′o‐phenylenebis(salicylidenaminato), Q=Se ( 1 ‐Se), Te ( 2 ‐Te)), have been synthesized by the diffusion of a methanolic solution of [PPh4]4[Re4Q4(CN)12] into a methanolic solution of [Mn(saloph)]+. The structure of 2 ‐Te has been determined by X‐ray crystallography. These rhenium cluster‐supported [MnIII(saloph)] complexes have been found to efficiently catalyze a wide range of olefin epoxidations under mild experimental conditions in the presence of meta‐chloroperbenzoic acid (mCPBA). Olefin epoxidation by these catalysts is proposed to involve the multiple active oxidants MnV?O, MnIV?O, and MnIII? OOC(O)R. Evidence in support of this interpretation has been derived from reactivity and Hammett studies, H218O‐exchange experiments, and the use of peroxyphenylacetic acid as a mechanistic probe. Moreover, it has been observed that the participation of MnV?O, MnIV?O, and MnIII? OOC(O)R can be controlled by changing the substrate concentration. This mechanism provides the greatest congruity with related oxidation reactions that employ certain Mn complexes as catalysts.  相似文献

A mononuclear nonheme manganese(IV)–oxo complex binding the Ce4+ ion, [(dpaq)MnIV(O)]+–Ce4+ ( 1 ‐Ce4+), was synthesized by reacting [(dpaq)MnIII(OH)]+ ( 2 ) with cerium ammonium nitrate (CAN). 1 ‐Ce4+ was characterized using various spectroscopic techniques, such as UV/Vis, EPR, CSI‐MS, resonance Raman, XANES, and EXAFS, showing an Mn?O bond distance of 1.69 Å with a resonance Raman band at 675 cm?1. Electron‐transfer and oxygen atom transfer reactivities of 1 ‐Ce4+ were found to be greater than those of MnIV(O) intermediates binding redox‐inactive metal ions ( 1 ‐Mn+). This study reports the first example of a redox‐active Ce4+ ion‐bound MnIV‐oxo complex and its spectroscopic characterization and chemical properties.  相似文献

Reaction of 2,2′-bipyridine (2,2′-bipy) or 1,10-phenantroline (phen) with [Mn(Piv)2(EtOH)]n led to the formation of binuclear complexes [Mn2(Piv)4L2] (L = 2,2′-bipy (1), phen (2); Piv is the anion of pivalic acid). Oxidation of 1 or 2 by air oxygen resulted in the formation of tetranuclear MnII/III complexes [Mn4O2(Piv)6L2] (L = 2,2′-bipy (3), phen (4)). The hexanuclear complex [Mn6(OH)2(Piv)10(pym)4] (5) was formed in the reaction of [Mn(Piv)2(EtOH)]n with pyrimidine (pym), while oxidation of 5 produced the coordination polymer [Mn6O2(Piv)10(pym)2]n (6). Use of pyrazine (pz) instead of pyrimidine led to the 2D-coordination polymer [Mn4(OH)(Piv)72-pz)2]n (7). Interaction of [Mn(Piv)2(EtOH)]n with FeCl3 resulted in the formation of the hexanuclear complex [MnII4FeIII2O2(Piv)10(MeCN)2(HPiv)2] (8). The reactions of [MnFe2O(OAc)6(H2O)3] with 4,4′-bipyridine (4,4′-bipy) or trans-1,2-(4-pyridyl)ethylene (bpe) led to the formation of 1D-polymers [MnFe2O(OAc)6L2]n·2nDMF, where L = 4,4′-bipy (9·2DMF), bpe (10·2DMF) and [MnFe2O(OAc)6(bpe)(DMF)]n·3.5nDMF (11·3.5DMF). All complexes were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Desolvation of 11·3.5DMF led to a collapse of the porous crystal lattice that was confirmed by PXRD and N2 sorption measurements, while alcohol adsorption led to porous structure restoration. Weak antiferromagnetic exchange was found in the case of binuclear MnII complexes (JMn-Mn = −1.03 cm−1 for 1 and 2). According to magnetic data analysis (JMn-Mn = −(2.69 ÷ 0.42) cm−1) and DFT calculations (JMn-Mn = −(6.9 ÷ 0.9) cm−1) weak antiferromagnetic coupling between MnII ions also occurred in the tetranuclear {Mn4(OH)(Piv)7} unit of the 2D polymer 7. In contrast, strong antiferromagnetic coupling was found in oxo-bridged trinuclear fragment {MnFe2O(OAc)6} in 11·3.5DMF (JFe-Fe = −57.8 cm−1, JFe-Mn = −20.12 cm−1).  相似文献

A comparative kinetic study of the reactions of two mixed valence manganese(III,IV) complexes with macrocyclic ligands, [L1MnIV(O)2MnIIIL1], 1 (L1 = 1,4,7,10‐tetraazacyclododecane) and [L2MnIV(O)2MnIIIL2], 2 (L2 = 1,4,8,11‐tetraazacyclotetradecane) with 2‐mercaptoethanol (RSH) has been carried out by spectrophotometry in aqueous buffer at (30 ± 0.1)°C. Rate of the reactions between the oxidants and the reductant was found to be negligibly slow with no systematic dependence on either redox partners. Externally added copper(II) (usually 5 × 10?7 mol dm?3), however, increases the rate of the reduction of 1 and 2 significantly. In the presence of catalytic amount of copper(II), the rate of the reaction is nearly proportional to [RSH] at lower concentration of the reductant but follows a saturation kinetics at higher concentration of the latter for the reaction between 1 and the thiol. Reaction rate was found to be strongly influenced by the variation of acidity of the medium and the observed kinetics suggests that the two reductant species ([Cu(RSH)]2+ and [Cu(RS)]+) are significant for the reaction between 1 and the thiol. The dependence of the rate on [RSH] for the reduction of 2 by the thiol was complex and rationalized considering two equilibria involving the catalyst (Cu2+) and the reductant. The pH rate profile suggests that both the μ‐O protonated [MnIII(O)(OH)MnIV] and the deprotonated [MnIII(O)2MnIV] forms of the oxidant 2 become important. The kinetic results presented in this study indicate the domination of outer‐sphere path. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 36: 129–137, 2004  相似文献
