Novel visible-light-activated In2O3–CaIn2O4 photocatalysts were developed in this paper through a sol–gel method. The photocatalytic activities of In2O3–CaIn2O4 composite photocatalysts were investigated based on the decomposition of methyl orange under visible light irradiation (λ > 400 nm). The obtained samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectrum (EDS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and UV–vis diffused reflectance spectroscopy (DRS). The results revealed that the In2O3–CaIn2O4 composite samples with different In2O3 and CaIn2O4 content can be obtained by controlling the synthesis temperature, and the composite photocatalysts extended the light absorption spectrum toward the visible region. The photocatalytic tests indicated that the composite samples demonstrated high visible-light activity for decomposition of methyl orange. The significant enhancement in the In2O3–CaIn2O4 photo-activity under visible light irradiation can be ascribed to the efficient separation of photo-generated carriers in the In2O3 and CaIn2O4 coupling semiconductors. 相似文献

ZnFe2O4 nanoparticles sensitized by C-modified TiO2 hybrids (ZnFe2O4–TiO2/C) were successfully prepared by a feasible method. The ZnFe2O4 nanoparticles were prepared by mechanical alloying and annealing. The residual organic compounds in the synthetic process of TiO2 were selected as the carbon source. The as-prepared composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, ultraviolet–visible light diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV–Vis) and N2 adsorption–desorption analysis. The photocatalytic activity of the photocatalysts was measured by degradation of methyl orange under ultraviolet (UV) light and simulated solar irradiation, respectively. The results show that the carbon did not enter the TiO2 lattice but adhered to the surface of TiO2. The photocatalytic activity of the as-prepared C-modified TiO2 (TiO2/C) improved both under UV and simulated solar light irradiation, but the improvement was not dramatic. Introduction of ZnFe2O4 into the TiO2/C could enhance the absorption spectrum range. The ZnFe2O4–TiO2/C hybrids exhibited a higher photocatalytic activity both than that of the pure TiO2 and TiO2/C under either UV or simulated solar light irradiation. The complex synergistic effect plays an important role in improving the photocatalytic performance of ZnFe2O4–TiO2/C composites. The optimum photocatalytic performance was obtained from the ZnFe2O4(0.8 wt%)–TiO2/C sample. 相似文献

CaAl2O4:Eu2+, Nd3+@TiO2 composite powders were synthesized by a sol–gel method under mild conditions (i.e. low temperature and ambient pressure). The as-prepared powders were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The photocatalytic behavior of the TiO2-base surfaces was evaluated by the degradation of nitrogen monoxide gas. It suggested that CaAl2O4:Eu2+, Nd3+@TiO2 composite powders were composed of anatase titania and that CaAl2O4:Eu2+, Nd3+. TiO2 particles were deposited on the surface of CaAl2O4:Eu2+, Nd3+ to form uniform film. CaAl2O4:Eu2+, Nd3+@TiO2 composite powders exhibited higher photocatalytic activity compared with pure TiO2 under visible light. And the result also clearly indicated that the long afterglow phosphor absorbed and stored lights for the TiO2 to remain photocatalytic activity in the dark. 相似文献

Thiol-functionalized Fe3O4/SiO2 microspheres (Fe3O4/SiO2-SH) with high saturation magnetization (69.3 emu g–1), superparamagnetism, and good dispersibility have been prepared by an ethylene glycol reduction method in combination with a modified Stöber method. The as-prepared composite magnetic spheres are characterized with fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), zeta potential, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and superconducting quantum interference magnetometer, and tested in separation of Au(III) ions from aqueous solutions. The data for Au(III) adsorption on Fe3O4/SiO2-SH are analyzed with the Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin, and Dubinin–Radushkevich isotherm models, and the pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order, and intraparticle diffusion kinetics models. The adsorption behaviors of Au(III) on Fe3O4/SiO2-SH follow the Langmuir isotherm model, and the adsorption process conforms to the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The maximum adsorption capacity of Au(III) on Fe3O4/SiO2-SH is 43.7 mg g–1. Acetate anions play an important role yet Cu(II) ions have little interference in the adsorption of Au(III) on the adsorbent. A satisfactory recovery percentage of 89.5% is acquired by using an eluent with 1 M thiourea and 5% HCl, although thiols have a high affinity to Au(III) ions based on the hard-soft acid-base (HSAB) theory by Pearson. 相似文献

Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) with ammonia has been considered as the most promising technology, as its effect deals with the NOX. Novel Fe-doped V2O5/TiO2 catalysts were prepared by sol–gel and impregnation methods. The effects of iron content and reaction temperature on the catalyst SCR reaction activity were explored by a test device, the results of which revealed that catalysts could exhibit the best catalytic activity when the iron mass ratio was 0.05%. It further proved that the VTiFe (0.05%) catalyst performed the best in denitration and its NOX conversion reached 99.5% at 270 °C. The outcome of experimental procedures: Brunauer–Emmett–Teller surface area, X-ray powder diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, temperature-programmed reduction and adsorption (H2-TPR, NH3-TPD) techniques showed that the iron existed in the form of Fe3+ and Fe2+ and the superior catalytic performance was attributed to the highly dispersed active species, lots of surface acid sites and absorbed oxygen. The modified Fe-doped catalysts do not only have terrific SCR activities, but also a rather broad range of active temperature which also enhances the resistance to SO2 and H2O. 相似文献

We proposed here a new process coupling dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma with magnetic photocatalytic material nanoparticles for improving yield in DBD degradation of methyl orange (MO). TiO2 doped Fe3O4 (TiO2/Fe3O4) was prepared by the sol-gel method and used as a new type of magnetic photocatalyst in DBD system. It was found that the introduction of TiO2/Fe3O4 in DBD system could effectively make use of the energy generated in DBD process and improve hydroxyl radical contributed by the main surface Fenton reaction, photocatalytic reaction and catalytic decomposition of dissolved ozone. Most part of MO (88%) was degraded during 30 min at peak voltage of 13 kV and TiO2/Fe3O4 load of 100 mg/L, with a rate constant of 0.0731 min?1 and a degradation yield of 7.23 g/(kW h). The coupled system showed higher degradation efficiency for MO removal. 相似文献

Phenol gets adsorbed on Al2O3 and mineralizes under UV light in the presence of dissolved O2. The degradation exhibits first-order kinetics and its rate increases linearly with the light intensity and decreases with pH. 2,4-Diphenoxycyclohexanone and 2,6-diphenoxycyclohex-3-ene-1-ol are the intermediates of the reaction. While particulate TiO2, ZnO, ZnS, Fe2O3, CuO, CdO, and Nb2O5 individually photocatalyze the degradation, each semiconductor exhibits synergistic photocatalysis, an enhanced photodegradation, when present along with Al2O3, indicating electron abstraction by illuminated semiconductors from the phenol adsorbed on Al2O3. 相似文献

Monodisperse and porous nonstoichiometric Zn ferrite can be prepared by a solvothermal method. Such non-Zn ferrite was used to be the precursor for synthesis of ZnFe2O4/Fe2O3 composite via calcination at 600°C for 3 h in air. X-ray powder diffractometer (XRD) and Energy Dispersive Spectrometer (EDS) proved the nonstoichiometry of Zn ferrite synthesized by solvothermal method and the formation of ZnFe2O4/Fe2O3 composite via calcination. TEM image showed that non-Zn ferrite spheres with wormlike nanopore structure were made of primary nanocrystals. BET surface area of non-Zn ferrite was much higher than that of ZnFe2O4/Fe2O3 composite. Saturation magnetization of non-Zn ferrites was significantly higher than that of ZnFe2O4/Fe2O3 composites. Calcination of non-Zn ferrite resulted in the formation of large amount of non-magnetic Fe2O3,which caused a low magnetization of composite. Because of higher BET surface area and higher saturation magnetization, non-Zn ferrite presented better Cr6+ adsorption property than ZnFe2O4/Fe2O3 composites. 相似文献

A yolk–shell-structured sphere composed of a superparamagnetic Fe3O4 core and a carbon shell (Fe3O4@HCS) was etched from Fe3O4@SiO2@carbon by NaOH, which was synthesized through the layer-by-layer coating of Fe3O4. This yolk–shell composite has a shell thickness of ca. 27 nm and a high specific surface area of 213.2 m2 g?1. Its performance for the magnetic removal of tetracycline hydrochloride from water was systematically examined. A high equilibrium adsorption capacity of ca. 49.0 mg g?1 was determined. Moreover, the adsorbent can be regenerated within 10 min through a photo-Fenton reaction. A stable adsorption capacity of 44.3 mg g?1 with a fluctuation <10% is preserved after 5 consecutive adsorption–degradation cycles, demonstrating its promising application potential in the decontamination of sewage water polluted by antibiotics. 相似文献

Li2ZnTi3O8/C nanocomposite has been synthesized using phenolic resin as carbon source in this work. The structure, morphology, and electrochemical properties of the as-prepared Li2ZnTi3O8 samples were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), Raman spectroscopy (RS), galvanostatic charge–discharge, and AC impedance spectroscopy. SEM images show that Li2ZnTi3O8/C was agglomerated with a primary particle size of ca. 40 nm. TEM images reveal that a homogeneous carbon layer (ca. 5 nm) formed on the surface of Li2ZnTi3O8 particles which is favorable to improve the electronic conductivity and inhibit the growth of Li2ZnTi3O8 during annealing process. The as-prepared Li2ZnTi3O8/C composite with 6.0 wt.% carbon exhibited a high initial discharge capacity of 425 and 159 mAh g?1 at 0.05 and 5 A g?1, respectively. At a high current density of 1 A g?1, 95.5 % of its initial value is obtained after 100 cycles. 相似文献

Nanostructures TiO2–SiO2 photocatalysts were successfully synthesized using the sol-gel method, hydro-calcination, co-precipitation and room-temperature solid-phase synthesis technology. X-ray powder diffraction pattern (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectrum (FTIR), photoluminescence (PL) spectra, thermal analyses (TG–DTA), scanning electron micrographs (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-Vis DRS) were used to characterize the as-synthesized catalysts. Photocatalytic performances of the catalysts were evaluated by the degradation of methyl orange (MO) under s imulated natural light and the degradation rate of MO is 97.2%. The composites showed a good stability: after five recycling runs there are no significant decreases in the photocatalytic activity. The photodegradation of methylene blue, rhodamine B, methyl violet, naphthol green B, basic fuchsin, malachite green, and methyl red were also tested, and the degradation rate of dyes could reach over 94.2 %. A possible mechanism for the photocatalysis with the TiO2–SiO2 was proposed. 相似文献

Nanocrystalline Fe-doped TiO2 powders were prepared using TiOSO4, urea, and Fe(NO3)3 · 9H2O as precursors through a hydrothermal method. The as-synthesized yellowish-colored powders are composed of anatase TiO2, identified by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The grain size ranged from 9.7 to 12.1 nm, calculated by Scherrer’s method. The specific surface area ranged from 141 to 170 m2/g, obtained by the Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) method. The transmission electron microscopy (TEM) micrograph of the sample shows that the diameter of the grains is uniformly distributed at about 10 nm, which is consistent with that calculated by Scherrer’s method. Fe3+ and Fe2+ have been detected on the surface of TiO2 powders by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The UV–Vis diffuse reflection spectra indicate that the light absorption thresholds of the Fe-doped TiO2 powders have been red-shifted into the visible light region. The photocatalytic activity of the Fe-doped TiO2 was evaluated through the degradation of methylene blue (MB) under visible light irradiation. The Fe-doped TiO2 powders have shown good visible-light photocatalytic activities and the maximum degradation ratio is achieved within 4.5 h. 相似文献

Zero-valent iron-modified Degussa P25-TiO2/ZnO nanocomposites (denoted as P25/Fe0/ZnO) were designed and prepared via Fe0 impregnation of P25-TiO2/ZnO and then were employed in the visible-light photocatalytic degradation of p-nitrophenol (PNP) in the presence of [K2S2O8]. Central composite design was applied for response surface modeling (RSM) to understand the influence of selected factors (pH, [Fe0] wt% and [K2S2O8] concentration) on the degradation of PNP and to determine the interaction between the factors. The maximal PNP degradation efficiency (86.9%) was obtained with P25/1.5 wt% Fe0/ZnO at 3 mg/L of [K2S2O8] concentration and pH 7.5. In addition, the RSM showed a satisfactory correlation between the experimental and predicted values of PNP degradation. The P25/Fe0/ZnO photocatalyst performance was also examined degrading methyl orange and phenol and high degradation efficiency, 82 and 99%, was achieved, respectively. The structure, morphology, light absorption and photocatalytic properties of as-prepared P25/Fe0/ZnO were studied using TEM, BET, XRD, FTIR and DRS. 相似文献

Based on the modulated electronic properties of Fe3O4-graphene (Fe3O4/GN composite) as well as the outstanding complexation between Pb2+ and natural substances garlic extract (GE), a novel electrochemical sensor for the determination of Pb2+ in wastewater was prepared by immobilization of Fe3O4/GN composite integrated with GE onto the surface of glassy carbon electrode (GCE). Fe3O4/GN composite was employed as an electrochemical active probe for enhancing electrical response by facilitating charge transfer while GE was used to improve the selectivity and sensitivity of the proposed sensor to Pb2+ assay. The electrochemical sensing performance toward Pb2+ was appraised by cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and square wave voltammetry (SWV). Under the optimized condition, the sensor exhibited two dynamic linear ranges (LDR) including 0.001 to 0.5 nM and 0.5 to 1000 nM with excellent low detection limit (LOD) of 0.0123 pM (S/N =?3) and quantification limit (LOQ) of 0.41 pM (S/N =?10). Meanwhile, it displayed remarkable stability, reproducibility (RSD of 3.61%, n =?3), and selectivity toward the assay for the 100-fold higher concentration of other heavy metal ions. Furthermore, the novel sensor has been successfully employed to detect Pb2+ from real water samples with satisfactory results. 相似文献

Summary Titania-based photocatalytic materials were prepared by sol-gel method using Fe3+ and polyethyleneglycol (PEG600) as additives. Thermogravimetry (TG), differential thermal analysis (DTA) and evolved gas analysis (EGA) with MS detection were used to elucidate processes that take place during heating of Fe3+ containing titania gels. The microstructure development of the Fe2O3/TiO2 gel samples with and without PEG600 admixtures was characterized by emanation thermal analysis (ETA) under in situ heating in air. A mathematical model was used for the evaluation of ETA results. Surface area and porosity measurements of the samples dried at 120°C and the samples preheated for 1 h to 300 and 500°C were compared. From the XRD measurements it was confirmed that the crystallization of anatase took place after thermal heating up to 600°C. 相似文献

Bi2O3/BiFeO3 composite was successfully fabricated by a conventional sol–gel method and structural properties were characterized based on X-ray diffractometer, scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope, energy-dispersive X-ray analyzer, nitrogen adsorption–desorption measurement, and UV–visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. Bi2O3/BiFeO3 had a good absorption for visible light, which was benefit to photocatalytic activity. The highest degradation efficiency was obtained when the content of Bi2O3 in Bi2O3/BiFeO3 was 63.9%. Effect of experimental conditions was investigated, and the highest photocatalytic activity of Bi2O3/BiFeO3 was observed at photocatalyst dosage of 0.5 g/L, initial BPA concentration of 10 mg/L, and solution pH of 6.3. Bi2O3/BiFeO3 photocatalyst exhibited enhanced photocatalytic activity for BPA, and the reaction rate constant over Bi2O3/BiFeO3 composite was 2.23, 3.65, and 8.71 times higher than that of BiFeO3, Bi2O3 and commercial TiO2 (P25), respectively. Bi2O3/BiFeO3 showed high photocatalytic activity after three cycles, suggesting that it was a stable photocatalyst. The possible photocatalytic mechanism has been discussed on the basis of the theoretical calculation and the experimental results. The hydroxyl and superoxide radicals together with photogenerated holes played significant roles in the photocatalytic reaction. 相似文献

A powdery material Mg(Fe0.8Ga0.2)2O4 has been prepared by combusting a gel containing magnesium(II), iron(III), and gallium(III) nitrates and a glycine–starch mixture. The gel produced during the synthesis has been studied by thermal analysis (TGA/DSC) and IR spectroscopy. This mixture has been shown to be efficient to produce a homogeneous nanosized powderlike material Mg(Fe0.8Ga0.2)2O4. The morphology and properties of ceramic samples are characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, neutron diffraction, and vibrational magnetometry. 相似文献

Niobium pentaoxide (Nb2O5) and nitrogen co-doped TiO2 photocatalysts were prepared by mechanical alloying with Nb2O5, TiO2 and urea as raw materials. The pure TiO2 powders of Degussa P25 were chosen as precursor. Chemical and physical properties of the Nb2O5 and N co-doped TiO2 photocatalysts were investigated, including XRD patterns, XPS spectra, DRS spectra, FT-IR spectra and N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms. Experiments on photodegradation of methylene blue (MB) and sulfosalicylic acid (SSA) under visible light were carried out to evaluate the photoactivities of the prepared samples, and the chemical oxygen demand (COD) analysis was also conducted as a comparison. 相似文献

The Fe3O4/TiO2/Bi2O3 composites were synthesized by a sol–gel method and used as improved photocatalysts for the degradation of methyl orange (MO) under simulated sunlight at room temperature. The as-prepared Fe3O4/TiO2/Bi2O3 composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS). TEM analysis reveals that the composite has a core–shell structure and diameters of Fe3O4 core is about 200 nm. DRS results reveal that all composites showed red shift in optical absorption. TiO2, Fe3O4, and Bi2O3 exist mainly as separate phases in the Fe3O4/TiO2/Bi2O3 composites based on XPS analysis. The photocatalytic degradation of MO with the prepared photocatalysts was studied under simulated sunlight illumination. Photocatalytic reactivity test indicated that the removal efficiency of MO with the Fe3O4/TiO2/Bi2O3 photocatalyst was higher than that of pure TiO2 and Fe3O4/TiO2. Recovery rate of Fe3O4/TiO2/Bi2O3 photocatalysts achieved 80 % after five times reuse. 相似文献

Manganese-carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on titania (TiO2) composites modified by different oxidants (KMnO4, (NH4)2S2O8 and m-chlorperbenzoic acid (MCPBA)) were prepared with a sol-gel method. These composites were comprehensively characterized by the Brunauer-Emett-Teller (BET) method, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy EDX, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and UV-vis absorption spectroscopy. The photoactivity of these materials prepared under visible light irradiation was tested using methylene blue in aqueous solution. The result shown that among the three oxidants, the MCPBA was the best one for the surface functionalization of CNTs and the manganese treated CNT/TiO2 composite can enhance the photocatalytic activity. The proposed mechanism of the photodegradation of methylene blue on Mn-CNT/TiO2 composites was present. 相似文献
