We use the quark model considerations of Federman, Rubinstein and Talmi and the relation (m ψ/m ϕ)≃(m ϒ/m ψ)≃(m ϒ/m ϒ) to compute the masses of beautiful and tasty vector mesons.  相似文献

The nature of the X(3872) enhancement is analyzed in the framework of the Resonance-Spectrum Expansion, by studying it as a regular J PC =1++ charmonium state, though strongly influenced and shifted by open-charm decay channels. The observed but Okubo–Zweig–Iizuka-forbidden ρ 0 J/ψ and ωJ/ψ channels are coupled as well, but effectively smeared out by using complex ρ 0 and ω masses, in order to account for their physical widths, followed by a rigorous algebraic procedure to restore unitarity. A very delicate interplay between the D 0 D ∗0, ρ 0 J/ψ, and ωJ/ψ channels is observed. The data clearly suggest that the X(3872) is a very narrow axial-vector c[`(c)]c\bar{c} resonance, with a pole at or slightly below the D 0 D ∗0 threshold.  相似文献

In a hydrodynamic model, we have studied J/ψ production in Au+Au/Cu+Cu collisions at RHIC energy, GeV. At the initial time, J/ψ’s are randomly distributed in the fluid. As the fluid evolves in time, the free streaming J/ψ’s are dissolved if the local fluid temperature exceeds a threshold temperature T J/ψ . Sequential melting of charmonium states (χ c , ψ and J/ψ), with melting temperatures , T J/ψ ≈2T c and feed-down fraction F≈0.3, explains the PHENIX data on the centrality dependence of J/ψ suppression in Au+Au collisions. J/ψ p T spectra and the nuclear modification factor in Au+Au collisions are also well explained in the model. The model however overpredicts the centrality dependence of J/ψ suppression in Cu+Cu collisions by 20–30%. The J/ψ p T spectra are underpredicted by 20–30%. The model predicts that in central Pb+Pb collisions at LHC energy,  GeV, J/ψ’s are suppressed by a factor of ∼10. The model predicted a J/ψ p T distribution in Pb+Pb collisions at LHC is similar to that in Au+Au collisions at RHIC.  相似文献

We discuss the values of resonance peaks of the cross section of a heavy-quark bound state obtained by means of a Green function method applied to a Coulombic model and compare the result to the ϒ and J/ψ data.  相似文献

X(1835) has been treated as a baryonium with sizable gluon content, and to be almost flavor singlet. This picture allows us to rationally understand X(1835) production in J/ψ radiative decays, and its large couplings with pˉ, ηππ. The processes ϒ(1S) → γX(1835) and J/ψ → ωX(1835) have been examined. It has been found that Br(ϒ(1S) → γX(1835))Br(X(1835) → pˉ) < 6.45×10-7, which is compatible with CLEO's recent experimental result (Phys. Rev. D 73, 032001 (2006) hep-ex/0510015). The branching fractions Br(J/ψ → ωX(1835)), Br(J/ψ → ρX(1835)) with X(1835) → pˉ and X(1835) → ηπ+π- have been estimated by the quark-pair creation model. We show that they are heavily suppressed, so the signal of X(1835) is very difficult, if not impossible, to be observed in these processes. The experimental checks for these estimations are expected. The existence of the baryonium nonet is conjectured, and a model-independent derivation of their production branching fractions is presented.  相似文献

I review the current status of the experimental searches for a Quark-Gluon Plasma in heavy ion collisions. The brief introduction covers important results of finite temperature lattice QCD and the intuitive Bjorken picture of Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) formation. Global features of the data, such as transverse energy distributions and the various signatures of QGP such asJ/ϕ-suppression, ψ-enhancement as well as thermal dileptons and photons are then discussed.  相似文献

We study the properties of D and [`(D)] \bar{{D}} mesons in hot isospin asymmetric strange hadronic matter, arising due to their interactions with the hadrons in the hyperonic medium. The interactions of D and [`(D)] \bar{{D}} mesons with these light hadrons are derived by generalizing the chiral SU(3) model used for the study of hyperonic matter to SU(4). The nucleons, hyperons, the scalar isoscalar meson, σ and the scalar-isovector meson, d \delta as modified in the strange hadronic matter, modify the masses of D and [`(D)] \bar{{D}} mesons. It is found that, as compared to the [`(D)] \bar{{D}} mesons ([`(D0)] \bar{{D^0}}, D ), the properties of the D mesons (D 0, D +) are more sensitive to the isospin asymmetry at high densities. On the other hand, the effects of strangeness fraction are found to be more dominant for the [`(D)] \bar{{D}} mesons as compared to the D mesons and these modifications are observed to be particularly appreciable at high densities. We also study the mass modifications of the charmonium states J/ψ, ψ(3686) and ψ(3770) in the isospin asymmetric strange hadronic matter at finite temperatures and investigate the possibility of the decay of the charmonium states into D [`(D)] \bar{{D}} pairs in the hot hadronic medium. The mass modifications of these charmonium states arise due to their interaction with the gluon condensates of QCD, simulated by a scalar dilaton field introduced to incorporate the broken scale invariance of QCD within the effective chiral model. The effects of finite quark masses are taken into account in the trace of the energy momentum tensor in QCD, while investigating the medium modification of the charmonium masses through the modification of the gluon condensate in the medium. We also compute the partial decay widths of the charmonium states to the D [`(D)] \bar{{D}} pairs in the hadronic medium. The strong dependence on density of the in-medium properties of the D, [`(D)] \bar{{D}} and the charmonium states, as well as the partial decay widths of charmonium states to D [`(D)] \bar{{D}} pairs, found in the present investigation, will be of direct relevance in observables like open charm enhancement as well as J/ψ suppression in the compressed baryonic matter (CBM) experiments at the future Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research, GSI, where the baryonic matter at high densities is planned to be produced.  相似文献

The ratio of the ψ′ over the J ψ production cross section in the dielectron channel has been measured in $ \sqrt s $ \sqrt s = 200 GeV p + p collisions with the PHENIX detector at RHIC. The analysis is based on fitting of the dielectron invariant mass spectra in the area around the J ψ and ψ′ signals in order to extract a ratio ψ′ over J ψ of 0.019 ± 0.005 (stat) ± 0.002 (sys) and a fractional feed-down contribution to J ψ from ψ′ of 8.6 ± 2.5%.  相似文献

The J/ψ azimuthal distribution relative to the reaction plane has been measured by the NA50 experiment in Pb-Pb collisions at 158 GeV/nucleon. Various physical mechanisms related to charmonium dissociation in the medium created in the heavy ion collision are expected to introduce an anisotropy in the azimuthal distribution of the observed J/ψ mesons at SPS energies. Hence, the measurement of J/ψ elliptic anisotropy, quantified by the Fourier coefficient v 2 of the J/ψ azimuthal distribution relative to the reaction plane, is an important tool to constrain theoretical models aimed at explaining the anomalous J/ψ suppression observed in Pb-Pb collisions. We present the measured J/ψ yields in different bins of azimuthal angle relative to the reaction plane, as well as the resulting values of the Fourier coefficient v 2 as a function of the collision centrality and of the J/ψ transverse momentum. The reaction plane has been estimated from the azimuthal distribution of the neutral transverse energy detected in an electromagnetic calorimeter. The analysis has been performed on a data sample of about 100 000 events, distributed in five centrality or p T sub-samples. The extracted v 2 values are significantly larger than zero for non-central collisions and are seen to increase with p T.  相似文献

Recent experimental results from Beijing Spectroscopy (BES) are reviewed, including the hadron spectroscopy from J/ψ decays, and a number of new states are found or confirmed, including σ, κ, X(1835), ωφ threshold enhancement in J/ψγωφ, a broad resonance in J/ψK + K π 0, decay studies of ψ(2S) and χ CJ , as well as the results of ψ(3770) non-D decays. The current status of BEPCII/BESIII, the major upgrade of BEPC/BESII, is also reported. Supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Grant No. 10491300)  相似文献

The B c J/ψ π, η c π decays are studied with the perturbative QCD approach. It is found that the form factors and for the B c J/ψ, η c transitions and the branching ratios are sensitive to the parameters ω, v, f J/ψ and , where ω and v are the parameters of the charmonium wave functions for a Coulomb potential and the harmonic-oscillator potential, respectively, and f J/ψ and are the decay constants of the J/ψ and η c mesons, respectively. The large branching ratios and the clear signals of the final states make the B c J/ψ π, η c π decays the prospective channels for measurements at the hadron colliders.  相似文献

A systematic semiquantitative account of all aspects of the strong and electromagnetic interactions of all the newly discovered hadronic states (theψ’s, theχ’s, etc.) is presented within the framework of the paracharge scheme. Extensions of ideas familiar from the SU3 classification scheme to SU4 are shown to provide an understanding of the new states seen in the decays ofψ (3.1) andψ′ (3.7), including their masses and gross decay characteristics. The decays ofψ (3.1) andψ′ (3.7) themselves are studied in some detail. Since these are of electromagnetic origin in the scheme, their electromagnetic mixing with the resonance at 4.15 GeV (theP-state of the scheme) is important. Once this is taken into account, the resulting picture is in excellent agreement with available data.  相似文献

J/ψ production at forward and midrapidity at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC) is calculated within a previously constructed rate-equation approach accounting for both direct production and regeneration from c and . The results are compared to the experimental data. The observed stronger suppression at forward rapidity can be qualitatively explained by a smaller statistical regeneration component together with stronger cold nuclear matter induced suppression compared to midrapidity. The χ c over J/ψ ratio and ψ′ over J/ψ ratio are also calculated.  相似文献

We report results on quarkonium production from the STAR experiment at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC). J/ψ spectra in p+p and Cu+Cu collisions at  GeV with transverse momenta in the range of 0.5–14 GeV/c and 5–8 GeV/c, respectively, are presented. We find that for p T >5 GeV/c yields in p+p collisions are consistent with those in minimum-bias Cu+Cu collisions scaled with the respective number of binary nucleon-nucleon collisions. In this range the nuclear modification factor, R AA , is measured to be 0.9±0.2 (stat). For the first time at RHIC, high-p T J/ψ-hadron correlations were studied in p+p collisions. Implications from our measurements on J/ψ production mechanisms, constraints on open bottom yields, and J/ψ dissociation mechanisms at high-p T are discussed. In addition, we give a brief status of measurements of ϒ production in p+p and Au+Au collisions and present projections of future quarkonia measurements based on an upgrades to the STAR detector and increased luminosity achieved through stochastic cooling of RHIC.  相似文献

A study of the angular distributions of leptons from decays of J/ψ’s produced in p-C and p-W collisions at has been performed in the J/ψ Feynman-x region −0.34<x F <0.14 and for J/ψ transverse momenta up to 5.4 GeV/c. The data were collected by the HERA-B experiment at the HERA proton ring of the DESY laboratory. The results, based on a clean selection of 2.3×105 J/ψ’s reconstructed in both the e + e and μ + μ decay channels, indicate that J/ψ’s are produced polarized. The magnitude of the effect is maximal at low p T . For p T >1 GeV/c a significant dependence on the reference frame is found: the polar anisotropy is more pronounced in the Collins-Soper frame and almost vanishes in the helicity frame, where, instead, a significant azimuthal anisotropy arises. The model on J/ψ production allowing the extraction of parton distribution functions is studied from the combined analysis with both data on Drell-Yan and J/ψ production processes. It is shown that this model, attractive from a theoretical point of view, can be safely used in the low-energy region E ≲ 100 GeV. The significance of gluon contributions to the J/ψ cross sections is investigated. The obtained results in the high-energy region are rather surprising. The dynamics of the one-dimensional spin glass with asymmetric interactions between neighboring spins is considered. We confine ourselves to discrete couplings with values ±J. We show that the algebraic decay of the remanent magnetization of the infinite ±J-spin chain at zero temperature is only valid for symmetric couplings. Our analytical investigations as well as computer simulations show stretched exponential decay for any finite concentration of antisymmetric bonds. Thus, the asymmetric ±J-spin chain shows an asymmetry-induced phase transition at zero temperature.  相似文献

In the present work, D s and B s meson parameters are investigated in the framework of thermal QCD sum rules. The temperature dependences of the mass and the leptonic decay constants are investigated by using Borel transform sum rules and Hilbert moment sum rules. To increase the sensitivity, the vacuum contributions are subtracted from the thermal expressions and the temperature dependences of the leptonic decay constants and meson masses are studied.  相似文献
