A new class of tetraiminetetraamide macrocyclic (Ph4[20]tetraene, N8O4, and Ph6[20]tetraene, N8O4) complexes have been prepared through the metal ion controlled reaction of 1,2-diphenylethane-1,2-dione dihydrazone (DPEDDH) with succinic acid [ML1X2] or phthalic acid [ML2X2] [M=Mn, Co, Ni, Cu or Zn; X=Cl or NO3]. The structures of the complexes have been elucidated on the basis of i.r, 1H-n.m.r, e.p.r. and electronic spectral data and conductance, as well as magnetic, properties. An octahedral geometry is assigned for all the complexes, involving coordination of the all-imine nitrogens.  相似文献

Thermolysis of [Ru(AsPh3)3(CO)H2] with the N-aryl heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) IMes (1,3-bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene), IPr (1,3-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene) or the adduct SIPr.(C6F5)H (SIPr=1,3-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-4,5-dihydroimidazol-2-ylidene), followed by addition of CH2Cl2, affords the coordinatively unsaturated ruthenium hydride chloride complexes [Ru(NHC)2(CO)HCl] (NHC=IMes , IPr , SIPr ). These react with CO at room temperature to yield the corresponding 18-electron dicarbonyl complexes . Reduction of and [Ru(IMes)(PPh3)(CO)HCl] () with NaBH4 yields the isolable borohydride complexes [Ru(NHC)(L)(CO)H(eta2-BH4)] (, L=NHC, PPh3). Both the bis-IMes complex and the IMes-PPh3 species react with CO at low temperature to give the eta1-borohydride species [Ru(IMes)(L)(CO)2H(eta1-BH4)] (L=IMes , PPh3), which can be spectroscopically characterised. Upon warming to room temperature, further reaction with CO takes place to afford initially [Ru(IMes)(L)(CO)2H2] (L=IMes, L=PPh3) and, ultimately, [Ru(IMes)(L)(CO)3] (L=IMes , L=PPh3). Both and lose BH3 on addition of PMe2Ph to give [Ru(IMes)(L)(L')(CO)H2](L=L'=PMe2Ph; L=PPh3, L'=PMe2Ph). Compounds and have been tested as catalysts for the hydrogenation of aromatic ketones in the presence of (i)PrOH and H2. For the reduction of acetophenone, catalytic activity varies with the NHC present, decreasing in the order IPr>IMes>SIMes.  相似文献

Reactions of the lithiated diamido-pyridine or diamido-amine ligands Li(2)N(2)N(py) or Li(2)N(2)N(am) with [W(NAr)Cl(4)(THF)] (Ar = Ph or 2,6-C(6)H(3)Me(2); THF = tetrahydrofuran) afforded the corresponding imido-dichloride complexes [W(NAr)(N(2)N(py))Cl(2)] (R = Ph, 1, or 2,6-C(6)H(3)Me(2), 2) or [W(NAr)(N(2)N(am))Cl(2)] (R = Ph, 3, or 2,6-C(6)H(3)Me(2), 4), respectively, where N(2)N(py) = MeC(2-C(5)H(4)N)(CH(2)NSiMe(3))(2) and N(2)N(am) = Me(3)SiN(CH(2)CH(2)NSiMe(3))(2). Subsequent reactions of 1 with MeMgBr or PhMgCl afforded the dimethyl or diphenyl complexes [W(NPh)(N(2)N(py))R(2)] (R = Me, 5, or Ph, 6), respectively, which have both been characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Reactions of Li(2)N(2)N(py) or Li(2)N(2)N(am) with [Mo(NR)(2)Cl(2)(DME)] (R = (t)Bu or Ph; DME = 1,2-dimethoxyethane) afforded the corresponding bis(imido) complexes [Mo(NR)(2)(N(2)N(py))] (R = (t)Bu, 7, or Ph, 8) and [Mo(N(t)Bu)(2)(N(2)N(am))] (9).  相似文献

Reactions of lithium dialkyl/phenyl phosphanylmethylides, RR'PCH(X)Li (R, R' = Me, Et, Ph and R = Me, R' = Ph; X = H or Me), with sulfur diimides S(NR')2 (R' = (t)Bu or SiMe3) in an equimolar ratio yielded Janus head complexes with the structural motif [Li{RR'PCH(X)S(NR')2}]2 (R' = (t)Bu, SiMe3). The basic core of these dimeric complexes is composed of a (LiN)(2) four-membered ring containing two four-coordinated lithium atoms. A lithium complex of the new Janus head ligand with another structural motif [TMEDA·Li{Ph(2)PCH(2)S(NSiMe3)2}] (6) could be isolated from the reaction of [Ph2PCH2Li·TMEDA] with S(NSiMe3)2. Two monomeric complexes [Mg{Me2PCH2S(NR')2}2] (7, 8) were synthesised by a straightforward reaction of [Li{Me2PCH2S(NR')2}2] with MgCl2 in pentane. The magnesium atom is chelated by one phosphorus atom and two nitrogen atoms of each unit of the hemilabile ligand in a tripodal manner, leading to octahedral geometry around the magnesium cation. A complete analysis of [Ph2PCH2(SNSiMe3)(HNSiMe3)] (9) is also described in which one nitrogen atom of the imido moiety is protonated.  相似文献

Reactions of Ln(BH4)3(THF)n and [Li(Et2O)]SPS(Me)], the lithium salt of an anionic SPS pincer ligand composed of a central hypervalent lambda4-phosphinine ring bearing two ortho-positioned diphenylphosphine sulfide sidearms, led to the monosubstituted compounds [Ln(BH4)2(SPS(Me))(THF)2] [Ln = Ce (1), Nd (2)], while the homoleptic complexes [Ln(SPS(Me))3] [Ln = Ce (3), Nd (4)] were obtained by treatment of LnX3 (X = I, BH4) with [K(Et2O)][SPS(Me)]. The [UX2(SPS(Me))2] complexes [X = Cl (5), BH4 (6)] were isolated from reactions of UX4 and the lithium or potassium salt of the [SPS(Me)]- anion. The X-ray crystal structures of 1.1.5THF, 2.1.5THF, 3.2THF.2Et2O, and 5.4py reveal that the flexible tridentate [SPS(Me)]- anion is bound to the metal as a tertiary phosphine with electronic delocalization within the unsaturated parts of the ligand.  相似文献

The electron-transfer oxidation and subsequent cobalt-carbon bond cleavage of vitamin B12 model complexes were investigated using cobaloximes, (DH)2Co(III)(R)(L), where DH- = the anion of dimethylglyoxime, R = Me, Et, Ph, PhCH2, and PhCH(CH3), and L = a substituted pyridine, as coenzyme B12 model complexes and [Fe(bpy)3](PF6)3 or [Ru(bpy)3](PF6)3 (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) as a one-electron oxidant. The rapid one-electron oxidation of (DH)2Co(III)(Me)(py) (py = pyridine) with the oxidant gives the corresponding Co(IV) complexes, [(DH)2Co(IV)(Me)(py)]+, which were well identified by the ESR spectra. The reorganization energy (lambda) for the electron-transfer oxidation of (DH)2Co(Me)(py) was determined from the ESR line broadening of [(DH)2Co(Me)(py)]+ caused by the electron exchange with (DH)2Co(Me)(py). The lambda value is applied to evaluate the rate constants of photoinduced electron transfer from (DH)2Co(Me)(py) to photosensitizers in light of the Marcus theory of electron transfer. The Co(IV)-C bond cleavage of [(DH)2Co(Me)(py)]+ is accelerated significantly by the reaction with a base. The overall activation energy for the second-order rate constants of Co(IV)-C bond cleavage of [(DH)2Co(IV)(Me)(py)]+ in the presence of a base is decreased by charge-transfer complex formation with a base, which leads to a negative activation energy for the Co(IV)-C cleavage when either 2-methoxypyridine or 2,6-dimethoxypyridine is used as the base.  相似文献

Addition reaction of ArN(SiMe 3)M (Ar = Ph or 2,6 - (i) Pr 2-C 6H 3 (Dipp); M = Li or Na) to 2 equivalents of alpha-hydrogen-free nitrile RCN (R = dimethylamido) gave the dimeric [M{N(Ar)C(NMe 2)NC(NMe 2)N(SiMe 3)}] 2 ( 1a, Ar = Ph, M = Li; 1b, Ar = Ph, M = Na; 1c, Ar = Dipp, M = Li). 1d was obtained by hydrolysis of 1c at ambient temperature. Treatment of a double ratio of 1a or 1b with anhydrous MCl 2 (M = Mn, Fe, Co) yielded the 1,3,5-triazapentadienato complexes [M{N(Ph)C(NMe 2)NC(NMe 2)N(SiMe 3)} 2] (M = Mn, 2; Fe, 3; Co, 4) and with NiCl 2.6H 2O gave [M{N(Ph)C(NMe 2)NC(NMe 2)N(H)} 2] (M = Ni, 5). Treatment of an equiv of 1c with anhydrous CuCl in situ and in air led to complexes [{N(Dipp)C(NMe 2)NC(NMe 2)N(SiMe 3)}CuPPh 3] 6 and [Cu{N(Dipp)C(NMe 2)NC(NMe 2)N(H)} 2] 7, respectively. 1c, 1d, and 2- 7 were characterized by X-ray crystallography and microanalysis. 1c, 1d, 5, and 6 were well characterized by (1)H, (13)C NMR, 1c by (7)Li, and 6 by (31)P NMR as well. The structural features of these complexes were described in detail.  相似文献

The reaction of Zn(II) and Co(II) with thiosalicylic acid, o-HSC6H4COOH, and its methyl ester has led to the following complexes: [Zn(SC6H4COO)] (1), (NEt4)Na[Zn(SC6H4COO)2].H2O (2), (NEt4)2Na[Co(SC6H4COO)3].2H2O (3), (NEt4)3Na3[(Co(SC6H4COO)3)2].6MeOH (4), [Zn(SC6H4COOMe)2] (5), and [Co(SC6H4COOMe)n], n = 2 (6), 3 (7). These ligands have not allowed stabilization of Co(II) in a sulfur-oxygen coordination environment. The structures of complexes 2-4 and 7 have been determined crystallographically. Those of 2-4 show significant similarities such as the behavior of the -SC6H4COO- anion as chelating ligand and the involvement of sodium ions as a structural element. Thus, the structure of the [Na(Zn(SC6H4COO)2)(H2O)]- anion in complex 2 can be described as infinite chains of consecutive [Zn(SC6H4COO)2]2- metalloligands linked by [Na(H2O)]+ centers, that of the [Na(Co(SC6H4COO)3(H2O)2)]2(4-) anion in 3 as a centrosymmetric tetranuclear Co2Na2 dimer with a (CoIII(S[symbol: see text]O)3)Na(mu-H2O)2Na(CoIII(S[symbol: see text]O)3) core, and that of the pentanuclear [Na3(Co(SC6H4COO)3)2(MeOH)6]3- anion in 4 as two dinuclear [(CoIII(S[symbol: see text]O)3)Na(MeOH)3] fragments linked to a central sodium ion, which appears to be the first structurally characterized example of a NaS6 site. The use of the o-HSC6H4COOMe ligand allowed the synthesis of [Co(SC6H4COOMe)2] (6) but not its full structural characterization. Instead, [Co(SC6H4COOMe)3] (7) was obtained and structurally characterized. It consists of mononuclear molecules containing an octahedral CoIIIS3O3 core. The selection of 2,2-diphenyl-2-mercaptoacetic acid as ligand with reductive properties has afforded the first mononuclear complex containing a CoIIS2O2 core and thus an unprecedented model for Co(II)-substituted metalloproteins containing tetrahedral MS2O2 active sites. The synthesis and full structural characterization of the isostructural complexes (NEt4)2[Zn(Ph2C(S)COO)2] (8) and (NEt4)2[Co(Ph2C(S)COO)2] (9) show that they consist of discrete [M(Ph2C(S)COO)2]2- anions, with a distorted tetrahedral coordination about the metal. In addition, the stability conferred by the ligand on the CoIIS2O2 core has allowed its characterization in solution by paramagnetic 1D and 2D 1H NMR studies. The longitudinal relaxation times of the hyperfine-shifted resonances and NOESY spectra have led to the assignment of all resonances of the cobalt complex and confirmed that it maintains its tetrahedral geometry in solution. Magnetic measurements (2-300 K) for complex 9 and 9.2H2O are in good agreement with distorted tetrahedral and octahedral environments, respectively.  相似文献

The reaction of [(THF)Li(Ph(2)PC(H)Py)] with ZnCl(2) in the presence of ZnO yields the zinc complex [Zn(3)(Ph(2)PC(H)Py)(4)O] (1). Deprotonation of the phosphane Ph(2)P(CH(2)Py) with [Fe(N(SiMe(3))(2))2] gives the iron complexes [(Ph(2)P(CH(2)Py))Fe(Ph(2)PC(H)Py)2] (2) and [Fe(Ph(2)PC(H)Py)(N(SiMe(3))(2))]2 (3), depending on the ratio of phosphane. The solid state structures of the metal complexes illustrate the coordination flexibility of the [Ph(2)C(H)Py](-)-anion. Depending on the electronic requirements of the coordinated metal the anion acts as a (P,N)-chelating amide or C-coordinating carbanion with the P- and N-heteroatoms as donor bases.  相似文献

Treatment of UCl4 with the hexadentate Schiff bases H2Li in thf gave the expected [ULiCl2(thf)] complexes [H2Li=N,N'-bis(3-methoxysalicylidene)-R and R = 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propanediamine (i= 1), R = 1,3-propanediamine (i= 2), R = 2-amino-benzylamine (i= 3), R = 2-methyl-1,2-propanediamine (i= 4), R = 1,2-phenylenediamine (i= 5)]. The crystal structure of [UL4Cl2(thf)] (4) shows the metal in a quite perfect pentagonal bipyramidal configuration, with the two Cl atoms in apical positions. Reaction of UCl4 with H4Li in pyridine did not afford the mononuclear products [U(H2Li)Cl2(py)x] but gave instead polynuclear complexes [H4Li=N,N'-bis(3-hydroxysalicylidene)-R and R = 1,3-propanediamine (i= 6), R = 2-amino-benzylamine (i= 7) or R = 2-methyl-1,2-propanediamine (i= 8)]. In the presence of H4L6 and H4L7 in pyridine, UCl4 was transformed in a serendipitous and reproducible manner into the tetranuclear U(iv) complexes [Hpy]2[U4(L6)2(H2L6)2Cl6] (6a) and [Hpy]2[U4(L7)2(H2L7)2Cl6][U4(L7)2(H2L7)2Cl4(py)2] (7), respectively. Treatment of UCl4 with [Zn(H2L6)] led to the formation of the neutral compound [U4(L6)2(H2L6)2Cl4(py)2] (6b). The hexanuclear complex [Hpy]2[U6(L8)4Cl10(py)4] (8) was obtained by reaction of UCl4 and H4L8. The centrosymmetric crystal structures of 6a.2HpyCl.2py, 6b.6py, 7.16py and 8.6py illustrate the potential of Schiff bases as associating ligands for the design of polynuclear assemblies.  相似文献

Reactions of [PdCl2(COD)] with 1 equiv. of the iminophosphorane-phosphine ligands Ph2PCH2P{=NP(=O)(OR)2}Ph2 (R=Et, Ph) lead to the novel Pd(II) derivatives cis-[PdCl2(kappa2-(P,N)-Ph2PCH2P{=NP(=O)(OR)2}Ph2)] (R=Et, Ph). Pd-N bond cleavage readily takes place upon treatment of these species with a variety of two-electron donor ligands. By this way, complexes cis-[PdCl2(kappa1-(P)-Ph2PCH2P{=NP(=O)(OR)2}Ph2)(L)] (R=Et, L=CNtBu, CN-2,6-C6H3Me2, py, P(OMe)3, P(OEt)3; R=Ph, L=CNtBu, CN-2,6-C6H3Me2, py, P(OMe)3, P(OEt)3) have been synthesized in high yields. The addition of two equivalents of ligands to dichloromethane solutions of [PdCl2(COD)] results in the formation of complexes trans-[PdCl2(kappa1-(P)-Ph2PCH2P{=NP(=O)(OR)2}Ph2)2] (R=Et, Ph), which can be converted into the dicationic species [Pd(Ph2PCH2P{=NP(=O)(OR)2}Ph2)2][SbF6]2 (R=Et, Ph) by treatment with AgSbF6. Complex also reacts with CNtBu to afford trans-[Pd(kappa1(P)-Ph2PCH2P{=NP(=O)(OPh)2}Ph2)2(CNtBu)2][SbF6]2. The structures of and have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods. In addition, the ability of these Pd(II) complexes to promote the catalytic cycloisomerization of (Z)-3-methylpent-2-en-4-yn-1-ol into 2,3-dimethylfuran has also been studied.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterisation of novel Li and Yb complexes is reported, in which the monoanionic beta-diketiminato ligand has been (i) reduced (SET or 2 [times] SET), (ii) deprotonated, or (iii) C-N bond-cleaved. Reduction of the lithium beta-diketiminate Li(L(R,R'))[L(R,R')= N(SiMe(3))C(R)CHC(R')N(SiMe(3))] with Li metal gave the dilithium derivative [Li(tmen)(mu-L(R,R'))Li(OEt(2))](R = R'= Ph; or, R = Ph, R[prime or minute]= Bu(t)). When excess of Li was used the dimeric trilithium [small beta]-diketiminate [Li(3)(L(R,R[prime or minute]))(tmen)](2)(, R = R'= C(6)H(4)Bu(t)-4 = Ar) was obtained. Similar reduction of [Yb(L(R,R'))(2)Cl] gave [Yb[(mu-L(R,R'))Li(thf)](2)](, R = R[prime or minute]= Ph; or, R = R'= C(6)H(4)Ph-4 = Dph). Use of the Yb-naphthalene complex instead of Li in the reaction with [Yb(L(Ph,Ph))(2)] led to the polynuclear Yb clusters [Yb(3)(L(Ph,Ph))(3)(thf)], [Yb(3)(L(Ph,Ph))(2)(dme)(2)], or [Yb(5)(L(Ph,Ph))(L(1))(L(2))(L(3))(thf)(4)] [L(1)= N(SiMe(3))C(Ph)CHC(Ph)N(SiMe(2)CH(2)), L(2)= NC(Ph)CHC(Ph)H, L(3)= N(SiMe(2)CH(2))] depending on the reaction conditions and stoichiometry. The structures of the crystalline complexes 4, 6x21/2(hexane), 5(C(6)D(6)), and have been determined by X-ray crystallography (and have been published).  相似文献

The structures of complexes [MⅡ2Cl4L2] and [MⅢ2Cl7L]- (M = Mo, Re; L = Ph2Ppy, (Ph2P)2py) were calculated by using density functional theory (DFT) PBE0 method. Based on the optimized geometries, the natural bond orbital (NBO) analyses were carried out to study the nature of Re-Re and Mo-Mo bonds. The conclusions are as follows: the M-M distances in two-Ph2Ppy or (Ph2P)2py complexes [MⅡ2Cl4L2] are shorter than those in mono-Ph2Ppy or (Ph2P)2py complexes [MⅢ2Cl7L]- due to the double bridged N-C-P interactions. For singlet of all complexes, there is ReⅢ-ReⅢ or MoⅡ-MoⅡ quadruply bond in complex [Re2Cl7L]- or [Mo2Cl4L2], while only ReⅡ-ReⅡ or MoⅢ-MoⅢ triply bond in complex [Re2Cl4L2] or [Mo2Cl7L]-. The most stable spin state of 2 and 6, triplet, only contains triple ReⅢ-ReⅢ bond. Because the LPCl → BD*Re-Re delocalizations weaken the Re-Re bond, the distance of ReⅢ-ReⅢ quadruple bonds in [Re2Cl7L]- is slightly longer than that of ReⅡ-ReⅡ triple bonds in [Re2Cl4L2]. Moreover, due to the delocalizations from the lone pair electrons of the remaining P' atom to the M-M antibonding orbitals, the M-M distance in (Ph2P)2py complexes is slightly longer than that in Ph2Ppy complexes.  相似文献

Exploiting the ability of the [M(SC[O]Ph)(4)](-) anion to behave like an anionic metalloligand, we have synthesized [Li[Ga(SC[O]Ph)(4)]] (1), [Li[In(SC[O]Ph)(4)]] (2), [Na[Ga(SC[O]Ph)(4)]] (3), [Na(MeCN)[In(SC[O]Ph)(4)]] (4), [K[Ga(SC[O]Ph)(4)]] (5), and [K(MeCN)(2)[In(SC[O]Ph)(4)]] (6) by reacting MX(3) and PhC[O]S(-)A(+) (M = Ga(III) and In(III); X = Cl(-) and NO(3)(-); and A = Li(I), Na(I), and K(I)) in the molar ratio 1:4. The structures of 2, 4, and 6 determined by X-ray crystallography indicate that they have a one-dimensional coordination polymeric structure, and structural variations may be attributed to the change in the alkali metal ion from Li(I) to Na(I) to K(I). Crystal data for 2 x 0.5MeCN x 0.25H(2)O: monoclinic space group C2/c, a = 24.5766(8) A, b = 13.2758(5) A, c = 19.9983(8) A, beta = 108.426(1) degrees, Z = 8, and V = 6190.4(4) A(3). Crystal data for 4: monoclinic space group P2(1)/c, a = 10.5774(7) A, b = 21.9723(15) A, c = 14.4196(10) A, beta = 110.121(1) degrees, Z = 4, and V = 3146.7(4) A(3). The thermal decomposition of these compounds indicated the formation of the corresponding AMS(2) materials.  相似文献

Introducing substituents in the 6‐position of the 2‐pyridyl rings of tris(pyridyl)aluminate anions, of the type [EtAl(2‐py′)3]? (py′=a substituted 2‐pyridyl group), has a large impact on their metal coordination characteristics. This is seen most remarkably in the desolvation of the THF solvate [EtAl(6‐Me‐2‐py)3Li?THF] to give the monomer [EtAl(6‐Me‐2‐py)3Li] ( 1 ), containing a pyramidal, three‐coordinate Li+ cation. Similar monomeric complexes are observed for [EtAl(6‐CF3‐2‐py)3Li] ( 2 ) and [EtAl(6‐Br‐2‐py)3Li] ( 3 ), which contain CF3 and Br substituents (R). This steric influence can be exploited in the synthesis of a new class of terminal Al?OH complexes, as is seen in the controlled hydrolysis of 2 and 3 to give [EtAl(OH)(6‐R‐2‐py)2]? anions, as in the dimer [EtAl(OH)(6‐Br‐2‐py)2Li]2 ( 5 ). Attempts to deprotonate the Al?OH group of 5 using Et2Zn led only to the formation of the zincate complex [LiZn(6‐Br‐py)3]2 ( 6 ), while reactions of the 6‐Br substituted 3 and the unsubstituted complex [EtAl(2‐py)3Li] with MeOH give [EtAl(OMe)(6‐Br‐2‐py)2Li]2 ( 7 ) and [EtAl(OMe)(2‐py)2Li]2 ( 8 ), respectively, having similar dimeric arrangements to 5 . The combined studies presented provide key synthetic methods for the functionalization and elaboration of tris(pyridyl)aluminate ligands.  相似文献

The first neutral, [IrClF(2)(NHC)(COD)] and [IrClF(2)(CO)(2)(NHC)] (NHC = IMes, IPr), and cationic, [IrF(2)py(IMes)(COD)][BF(4)] and [IrF(2)L(CO)(2)(NHC)][BF(4)] (NHC = IMes, L = PPh(2)Et, PPh(2)CCPh, py; NHC = IPr, L = py), NHC iridium(III) fluoride complexes, have been synthesised by the xenon difluoride oxidation of iridium(I) substrates. The stereochemistries of these iridium(III) complexes have been confirmed by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy in solution and no examples of fluoride-trans-NHC arrangements were observed. Throughout, CO was found to be a better co-ligand for the stabilisation of the iridium(III) fluoride complexes than COD. Attempts to generate neutral trifluoroiridium(III) complexes, [IrF(3)(CO)(NHC)], via the ligand substitution reaction of [IrF(3)(CO)(3)] with the free NHCs were unsuccessful.  相似文献

Reaction of the hydride CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)H with KH and 18-crown-6 gives the tungsten anion [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)](-)[K(18-crown-6)](+). Electrochemical oxidation of [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)](-) in MeCN (0.2 M (n)Bu(4)N(+)PF(6)(-)) is fully reversible (E(1/2) = -1.65 V vs Cp(2)Fe(+?/0)) at all scan rates, indicating that CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(?) is a persistent radical. Hydride transfer from CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)H to Ph(3)C(+)PF(6)(-) in MeCN affords [cis-CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(MeCN)](+)PF(6)(-). Comproportionation of [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)](-) with [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(MeCN)](+) gives the 17-electron tungsten radical CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(?). This complex shows paramagnetically shifted resonances in the (1)H NMR spectrum and has been characterized by IR spectroscopy, low-temperature EPR spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(?) is stable with respect to disproportionation and dimerization. NMR studies of degenerate electron transfer between CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(?) and [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)](-) are reported. DFT calculations were carried out on CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)H, as well as on related complexes bearing NHC ligands with N,N' substituents Me (CpW(CO)(2)(IMe)H) or H (CpW(CO)(2)(IH)H) to compare to the experimentally studied IMes complexes with mesityl substituents. These calculations reveal that W-H homolytic bond dissociation energies (BDEs) decrease with increasing steric bulk of the NHC ligand, from 67 to 64 to 63 kcal mol(-1) for CpW(CO)(2)(IH)H, CpW(CO)(2)(IMe)H, and CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)H, respectively. The calculated spin density at W for CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(?) is 0.63. The W radicals CpW(CO)(2)(IMe)(?) and CpW(CO)(2)(IH)(?) are calculated to form weak W-W bonds. The weakly bonded complexes [CpW(CO)(2)(IMe)](2) and [CpW(CO)(2)(IH)](2) are predicted to have W-W BDEs of 6 and 18 kcal mol(-1), respectively, and to dissociate readily to the W-centered radicals CpW(CO)(2)(IMe)(?) and CpW(CO)(2)(IH)(?).  相似文献
