First, we show that a compact object C in a triangulated category, which satisfies suitable conditions, induces a t-structure. Second, in an abelian category we show that a complex P· of small projective objects of term length two, which satisfies suitable conditions, induces a torsion theory. In the case of module categories, using a torsion theory, we give equivalent conditions for P· to be a tilting complex. Finally, in the case of artin algebras, we give a one-to-one correspondence between tilting complexes of term length two and torsion theories with certain conditions.  相似文献

Recollements and tilting objects   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We study connections between recollements of the derived category D(Mod R) of a ring R and tilting theory. We first provide constructions of tilting objects from given recollements, recovering several different results from the literature. Secondly, we show how to construct a recollement from a tilting module of projective dimension one. By Nicolás and Saorín (2009) [31], every recollement of D(Mod R) is associated to a differential graded homological epimorphism λ:RS. We will focus on the case where λ is a homological ring epimorphism or even a universal localization. Our results will be employed in a forthcoming paper in order to investigate stratifications of D(Mod R).  相似文献

Given a regular epimorphism f:X?Y in an exact homological category C, and a pair (U,V) of kernel subobjects of X, we show that the quotient (f(U)∩f(V))/f(UV) is always abelian. When C is nonpointed, i.e. only exact protomodular, the translation of the previous result is that, given any pair (R,S) of equivalence relations on X, the difference mappingδ:Y/f(RS)?Y/(f(R)∩f(S)) has an abelian kernel relation. This last result actually holds true in any exact Mal'cev category. Setting Y=X/T, this result says that the difference mapping determined by the inclusion T∪(RS)?(TR)∩(TS) has an abelian kernel relation, which casts a new light on the congruence distributive property.  相似文献

We prove that the exactness of direct limits in an abelian category with products and an injective cogenerator J is equivalent to a condition on J which is well-known to characterize pure-injectivity in module categories, and we describe an application of this result to the tilting theory. We derive our result as a consequence of a more general characterization of when inverse limits in the Eilenberg–Moore category of a monad on the category of sets preserve regular epimorphisms.  相似文献

We study the category 𝒞(X, Y) generated by an exceptional pair (X, Y) in a hereditary category ?. If r = dim k Hom(X, Y) ≥ 1 we show that there are exactly 3 possible types for 𝒞(X, Y), all derived equivalent to the category of finite dimensional modules mod(H r ) over the r-Kronecker algebra H r . In general 𝒞(X, Y) will not be equivalent to a module category. More specifically, if ? is the category of coherent sheaves over a weighted projective line 𝕏, then 𝒞(X, Y) is equivalent to the category of coherent sheaves on the projective line ?1 or to mod(H r ) and, if 𝕏 is wild, then every r ≥ 1 can occur in this way.  相似文献

A morphism of left R-modules is a phantom morphism if for any morphism , with A finitely presented, the composition fg factors through a projective module. Equivalently, Tor1(X,f)=0 for every right R-module X. It is proved that every R-module possesses a phantom cover, whose kernel is pure injective. If is the category of finitely presented right R-modules modulo projectives, then the association M?Tor1(−,M) is a functor from the category of left R-modules to that of the flat functors on . The phantom cover is used to characterize when this functor is faithful or full. It is faithful if and only if the flat cover of every module has a pure injective kernel; this is equivalent to the flat cover being the phantom cover. The question of fullness is only reasonable when the functor is restricted to the subcategory of cotorsion modules. This restriction is full if and only if every phantom cover of a cotorsion module is pure injective.  相似文献

Let (X, Y) be a balanced pair in an abelian category. We first introduce the notion of cotorsion pairs relative to (X, Y), and then give some equivalent characterizations when a relative cotorsion pair is hereditary or perfect. We prove that if the X-resolution dimension of Y (resp. Y-coresolution dimension of X) is finite, then the bounded homotopy category of Y (resp. X) is contained in that of X (resp. Y). As a consequence, we get that the right X-singularity category coincides with the left Y-singularity category if the X-resolution dimension of Y and the Y-coresolution dimension of X are finite.  相似文献

We generalize the decomposition theorem of Hochschild, Kostant and Rosenberg for Hochschild (co-)homology to arbitrary morphisms between complex spaces or schemes over a field of characteristic zero. To be precise, we show that for each such morphism XY, the Hochschild complex HX/Y, as introduced in [R.-O. Buchweitz, H. Flenner, Global Hochschild (co-)homology of singular spaces, Adv. Math. (2007), doi: 10.1016/j.aim.2007.06.012], decomposes naturally in the derived category D(X) into p?0Sp(LX/Y[1]), the direct sum of the derived symmetric powers of the shifted cotangent complex, a result due to Quillen in the affine case.Even in the affine case, our proof is new and provides further information. It shows that the decomposition is given explicitly and naturally by the universal Atiyah-Chern character, the exponential of the universal Atiyah class. We further use the decomposition theorem to show that the semiregularity map for perfect complexes factors through Hochschild homology and, in turn, factors the Atiyah-Hochschild character through the characteristic homomorphism from Hochschild cohomology to the graded centre of the derived category.  相似文献

A finite poset X carries a natural structure of a topological space. Fix a field k, and denote by Db(X) the bounded derived category of sheaves of finite dimensional k-vector spaces over X. Two posets X and Y are said to be derived equivalent if Db(X) and Db(Y) are equivalent as triangulated categories. We give explicit combinatorial properties of X which are invariant under derived equivalence; among them are the number of points, the Z-congruency class of the incidence matrix, and the Betti numbers. We also show that taking opposites and products preserves derived equivalence. For any closed subset YX, we construct a strongly exceptional collection in Db(X) and use it to show an equivalence Db(X)?Db(A) for a finite dimensional algebra A (depending on Y). We give conditions on X and Y under which A becomes an incidence algebra of a poset. We deduce that a lexicographic sum of a collection of posets along a bipartite graph S is derived equivalent to the lexicographic sum of the same collection along the opposite .This construction produces many new derived equivalences of posets and generalizes other well-known ones.As a corollary we show that the derived equivalence class of an ordinal sum of two posets does not depend on the order of summands. We give an example that this is not true for three summands.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove the existence of a flat cover and of a cotorsion envelope for any quasi-coherent sheaf over a scheme (X,OX). Indeed we prove something more general. We define what it is understood by the category of quasi-coherent R-modules, where R is a representation by rings of a quiver Q, and we prove the existence of a flat cover and a cotorsion envelope for quasi-coherent R-modules. Then we use the fact that the category of quasi-coherent sheaves on (X,OX) is equivalent to the category of quasi-coherent R-modules for some Q and R to get our result.  相似文献

In this paper we explore a family of strong completeness properties in GO-spaces defined on sets of real numbers with the usual linear ordering. We show that if τ is any GO-topology on the real line R, then (R,τ) is subcompact, and so is any Gδ-subspace of (R,τ). We also show that if (X,τ) is a subcompact GO-space constructed on a subset XR, then X is a Gδ-subset of any space (R,σ) where σ is any GO-topology on R with τ=σX|. It follows that, for GO-spaces constructed on sets of real numbers, subcompactness is hereditary to Gδ-subsets. In addition, it follows that if (X,τ) is a subcompact GO-space constructed on any set of real numbers and if τS is the topology obtained from τ by isolating all points of a set SX, then (X,τS) is also subcompact. Whether these two assertions hold for arbitrary subcompact spaces is not known. We use our results on subcompactness to begin the study of other strong completeness properties in GO-spaces constructed on subsets of R. For example, examples show that there are subcompact GO-spaces constructed on subsets XR where X is not a Gδ-subset of the usual real line. However, if (X,τ) is a dense-in-itself GO-space constructed on some XR and if (X,τ) is subcompact (or more generally domain-representable), then (X,τ) contains a dense subspace Y that is a Gδ-subspace of the usual real line. It follows that (Y,τY|) is a dense subcompact subspace of (X,τ). Furthermore, for a dense-in-itself GO-space constructed on a set of real numbers, the existence of such a dense subspace Y of X is equivalent to pseudo-completeness of (X,τ) (in the sense of Oxtoby). These results eliminate many pathological sets of real numbers as potential counterexamples to the still-open question: “Is there a domain-representable GO-space constructed on a subset of R that is not subcompact”? Finally, we use our subcompactness results to show that any co-compact GO-space constructed on a subset of R must be subcompact.  相似文献

A TTF-triple (C,T,F) in an abelian category is one-sided split in case either (C,T) or (T,F) is a split torsion theory. In this paper we classify one-sided split TTF-triples in module categories, thus completing Jans’ classification of two-sided split TTF-triples and answering a question that has remained open for almost 40 years.  相似文献

We study polynomial functors of degree 2, called quadratic, with values in the category of abelian groups Ab, and whose source category is an arbitrary category C with null object such that all objects are colimits of copies of a generating object E which is small and regular projective; this includes all categories of models V of a pointed theory T. More specifically, we are interested in such quadratic functors F from C to Ab which preserve filtered colimits and suitable coequalizers.A functorial equivalence is established between such functors F:CAb and certain minimal algebraic data which we call quadratic C-modules: these involve the values on E of the cross-effects of F and certain structure maps generalizing the second Hopf invariant and the Whitehead product.Applying this general result to the case where E is a cogroup these data take a particularly simple form. This application extends results of Baues and Pirashvili obtained for C being the category of groups or of modules over some ring; here quadratic C-modules are equivalent with abelian square groups or quadratic R-modules, respectively.  相似文献

In ZF, i.e., Zermelo-Fraenkel set theory without the axiom of choice, the category Top of topological spaces and continuous maps is well-behaved. In particular, Top has sums (=coproducts) and products. However, it may happen that for families (Xi)iI and (Yi)iI with the property that each Xi is homeomorphic to the corresponding Yi neither their sums iIXi and iIYi nor their products iIXi and iIYi are homeomorphic. It will be shown that the axiom of choice is not only sufficient but also necessary to rectify this defect.  相似文献
