We present here two new criteria for existence of a tame Harrison map of two formally real algebraic function fields over a fixed real closed field of constants. The first criterion (c.f. Theorem 2.5) shows that a square class group isomorphism is a tame Harrison map if it induces an isomorphism of the coproduct rings of residue Witt rings. The other result (c.f. Proposition 3.5) associates a tame Harrison map to an integral quaternion-symbol equivalence.   相似文献

For a real algebraic M-variety X, the canonical homomorphism of the algebraic cohomology group of the set of real points into the algebraic cohomology group of the set of complex points $$\varrho _k :H_{alg}^k (X(\mathbb{R}),\mathbb{Z}/2) \to H_{alg}^{2k} (X(\mathbb{C}),\mathbb{Z}/2)$$ is considered. This homomorphism agrees with the cycle mappings. Estimates for the dimension of the kernel of this homomorphism are given.  相似文献

This article is concerned with describing certain bilinear forms associated with finite abelian extensions N|K of an algebraic number field K. These abelian trace forms are described up to Witt equivalence, that is, they are described as elements in the Witt ring W(K). When the base field K has exactly one dyadic prime and no real embeddings, it is shown that the Witt class of every abelian trace form over K is a product of Witt classes of five specified types.  相似文献

We define the notion of isosingular loci of algebraic varieties, following the analytic case first studied by Ephraim. These are subsets of points where the variety has a prescribed formal singularity type. We show that the isosingular loci of an algebraic variety are locally closed in the Zariski topology and the associated reduced subschemes are smooth. Moreover, assuming characteristic 0, we prove the existence of a decomposition of the formal neighborhoods at closed points into a product of the respective isosingular locus at that point and a smooth factor. One of the main obstructions in the positive characteristic case is the non-separability of the orbit map associated to the contact group, as first observed by Greuel and Pham for isolated singularities.  相似文献

The paper has two parts. We first briefly survey recent studies on the equivalence problem for real submanifolds in a complex space under the action of biholomorphic transformations. We will mainly focus on some of the recent studies of Bishop surfaces, which, in particular, includes the work of the authors. In the second part of the paper, we apply the general theory developed by the authors to explicitly classify an algebraic family of Bishop surfaces with a vanishing Bishop invariant. More precisely, we let M be a real submanifold of C 2 defined by an equation of the form w = zz + 2Re(z s + az s+1 ) with s≥ 3 and a a complex parameter. We will prove in the second part of the paper that for s≥ 4 two such surfaces are holomorphically equivalent if and only if the parameter differs by a certain rotation. When s = 3, we show that surfaces of this type with two different real parameters are not holomorphically equivalent.  相似文献

In this paper we show how the restriction of the complex algebraic cycles to real part of a complex algebraic set is related to the real algebraic cycles of the real part. As a corollary we give examples of smooth submanifolds of a Euclidean space which can not be isotoped to real parts of complex nonsingular subvarieties in the corresponding projective space. This note continues the investigations of Knebusch on algebraic curves over real closed fields and was initiated by reading [3]. Especially we ask for the existence of real algebraic functions with given zeroes and poles, a question going back to Witt [4]. We study the real nature of coverings of real algebraic curves, and if the covering has degree two, we get algebraic proofs for results, which in the classical case have been obtained by topological methods in [2].  相似文献

The object of this paper is to study continuous vector bundles, over real algebraic varieties, admitting an algebraic structure. For large classes of real varieties, we obtain explicit information concerning the Grothendieck group of algebraic vector bundles. We show that in many cases this group is small compared to the corresponding group of continuous vector bundles. Deciding efficiently the emptiness of a real algebraic set defined by a single equation is a fundamental problem of computational real algebraic geometry. We propose an algorithm for this test. We find, when the algebraic set is non empty, at least one point on each semi-algebraically connected component. The problem is reduced to deciding the existence of real critical points of the distance function and computing them.  相似文献

Let Y ? ?N be a possibly singular projective variety, defined over the field of complex numbers. Let X be the intersection of Y with h general hypersurfaces of sufficiently large degrees. Let d > 0 be an integer, and assume that dimY = n + h and dimYsing ≤ min {d + h ? 1, n ? 1}. Let Z be an algebraic cycle on Y of dimension d + h, whose homology class in H2(d+h)(Y; ?) is nonzero. In the present article, we prove that the restriction of Z to X is not algebraically equivalent to zero. This is a generalization to the singular case of a result due to Nori in the case Y is smooth. As an application we provide explicit examples of singular varieties for which homological equivalence is different from the algebraic one.  相似文献

We show that Connes? embedding conjecture (CEC) is equivalent to a real version of the same (RCEC). Moreover, we show that RCEC is equivalent to a real, purely algebraic statement concerning trace positive polynomials. This purely algebraic reformulation of CEC had previously been given in both a real and a complex version in a paper of the last two authors. The second author discovered a gap in this earlier proof of the equivalence of CEC to the real algebraic reformulation (the proof of the complex algebraic reformulation being correct). In this note, we show that this gap can be filled with help of the theory of real von Neumann algebras.  相似文献

The amoeba of a complex curve in the 2‐dimensional complex torus is its image under the projection onto the real parts of the logarithmic coordinates. A toric cycle in the complement to a curve is a fiber of this projection over a point in the complement to the amoeba of the curve. We consider amoebas of complex algebraic curves defined by so‐called Harnack polynomials. We prove that toric cycles are homologically independent in the complement to a such curve.  相似文献

Directed spaces are the objects of study within directed algebraic topology. They are characterised by spaces of directed paths associated to a source and a target, both elements of an underlying topological space. The algebraic topology of these path spaces and their connections are studied from a categorical perspective. In particular, we study the preorder category associated to a directed space and various “quotient” categories arising from algebraic topological functors. Furthermore, we propose and study a new notion of directed homotopy equivalence between directed spaces.   相似文献

Using only basic topological properties of real algebraic sets and regular morphisms we show that any injective regular self-mapping of a real algebraic set is surjective. Then we show that injective morphisms between germs of real algebraic sets define a partial order on the equivalence classes of these germs divided by continuous semi-algebraic homeomorphisms. We use this observation to deduce that any injective regular self-mapping of a real algebraic set is a homeomorphism. We show also a similar local property. All our results can be extended to arc-symmetric semi-algebraic sets and injective continuous arc-symmetric morphisms, and some results to Euler semi-algebraic sets and injective continuous semi-algebraic morphisms.Mathematics Subject Classification (2000):14Pxx, 14A10, 32B10  相似文献

Let Y be a compact nonsingular real algebraic set whose homology classes (over Z/2) are represented by Zariski closed subsets. It is well known that every smooth map from a compact smooth manifold to Y is unoriented bordant to a regular map. In this paper, we show how to construct smooth maps from compact nonsingular real algebraic sets to Y not homotopic to any regular map starting from a nonzero homology class of Y of positive degree. We use these maps to obtain obstructions to the existence of local algebraic tubular neighborhoods of algebraic submanifolds of Rn and to study some algebro-homological properties of rational real algebraic manifolds.  相似文献

We show that there is a large class of non-special divisors of relatively small degree on a given real algebraic curve. If the real algebraic curve has many real components, such a divisor gives rise to an embedding (birational embedding, resp.) of the real algebraic curve into the real projective space ℙ r for r≥3 (r=2, resp.).
