Sm‐doped CaNb2O6 (CaNb2O6:Sm) phosphor thin films were prepared by radio‐frequency magnetron sputtering on sapphire substrates. The thin films were grown at several growth temperatures and subsequently annealed at 800 °C in air. The crystallinity, surface morphology, optical transmittance, and photoluminescence of the thin films were investigated by X‐ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, ultraviolet‐visible spectrophotometry, and fluorescence spectrophotometry, respectively. All of the thin films showed a main red emission radiated by the transition from the 4G5/2 excited state to the 6H9/2 ground state of the Sm3+ ions and several weak bands under ultraviolet excitation with a 279 nm wavelength. The optimum growth temperature for depositing the high‐quality CaNb2O6:Sm thin films, which was determined from the luminescence intensity, was found to be 400 °C, where the thin film exhibited an orthorhombic structure with a thickness of 370 nm, an average grain size of 220 nm, a band gap energy of 3.99 eV, and an average optical transmittance of 85.9%. These results indicate that the growth temperature plays an important role in controlling the emission intensity and optical band gap energy of CaNb2O6:Sm thin films.  相似文献

Thin films of antimony trisulfide (Sb2S3) were prepared by thermal evaporation under vacuum (p=5×10–5 torr) on glass substrates maintained at various temperatures between 293 K and 523 K. Their microstructural properties have obtained by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The electron diffraction analysis showed the occurrence of amorphous to polycrystalline transition in the films deposited at higher temperature of substrates (523 K). The polycrystalline thin films were found to have an orthorhombic structure. The interplanar distances and unit‐cell parameters were determined by high‐resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and compared with the standard values for Sb2S3. The surface morphology of Sb2S3 thin films was investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The optical transmission spectra at normal incidence of Sb2S3 thin films have been measured in the spectral range of 400–1400 nm. The analysis of the absorption spectra revealed indirect energy gaps, characterizing of amorphous films, while the polycrystalline films exhibited direct energy gap. From the photon energy dependence of absorption coefficient, the optical band gap energy, Eg, were calculated for each thin films. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Bi3.15Nd0.85Ti2.8-xZr0.2MnxO12 (BNTZM) thin films with various Mn content (x = 0, 0.005, 0.01, 0.03, and 0.05) have been prepared on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si (100) substrates by a chemical solution deposition (CSD) technique. The crystal structures of BNTZM thin film have been analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The dependence of Mn contents on the ferroelectric, dielectric properties, and leakage current of these BNTZM films have been thoroughly investigated. The XRD analysis demonstrated that all the BNTZM thin films were of typical bismuth-layer-structured ferroelectrics (BLSF) polycrystalline structure and exhibited a highly preferred (117) orientation. Among these BNTZM films, the BNTZM thin film with Mn content equal to 0.01 exhibits the maximum remnant polarization (2Pr) of 48μC/cm2 and a low coercive field (2Ec) of 177 kV/cm. In addition, the BNTZM thin film with x = 0.01 (Mn) showed a fatigue-free behavior up to 1 × 1010 read/write cycles.  相似文献

Two‐source thermal evaporation technique was used to prepare HgxCd1‐xTe thin films onto scratch free transparent glass substrates. The structural investigations revealed that thin films were polycrystalline in nature. Transmittance measurements in the wavelength range (500‐2700 nm) were used to calculate optical constants. The analysis of the optical absorption data showed that the optical band gap was of indirect type. In the composition range 0.05 < x < 0.25 the films exhibited an optical band gap between 1.29 and 0.98 eV. In the same composition range the films were p‐type and exhibited a resistivity, which varied between 102 and 10‐1 Ω‐cm. (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Hydrogenated amorphous silicon thin films doped with chalcogens (Se or S) were prepared by the decomposition of silane (SiH4) and H2Se/H2S gas mixtures in an RF plasma glow discharge on 7059 corning glass at a substrate temperature 230 °C. The illumination measurements were performed on these samples as a function of doping concentration, temperature and optical density. The activation energy varied with doping concentration and is higher in Se-doped than S-doped a-Si:H thin films due to a low defect density. From intensity versus photoconductivity data, it is observed that the addition of Se and S changes the recombination mechanism from monomolecular at low doping concentration films to bimolecular at higher doping levels. The photosensitivity (σph/σd) of a-Si, Se:H thin films decreases as the gas ratio H2Se/SiH4 increased from 10?4 to 10?1, while the photosensitivity of a-Si, S:H thin films increases as the gas ratio H2S/SiH4 increased from 6.8 × 10?7 to 1.0×10?4.  相似文献

The optical and structural properties of Ge20Se80, Ge25Se75 and Ge30Se70 bulk glasses and Agx(Ge0.20Se0.80)100−x thin films, where x = 0, 6, 11, 16, 20 and 23 at.% were studied. All samples were confirmed as amorphous according to XRD. The Raman spectra showed increase in 260 cm−1 and 237 cm−1 and decrease in 198 cm−1 and 216 cm−1 bands with different Se content in the bulk samples. The optical bandgap energy of bulk samples decreased (2.17–2.08 eV) and refractive index increased (2.389–2.426 at 1550 nm) with increasing Se content in bulk glasses. The Ge20Se80 thin films were prepared by vacuum thermal evaporation from Ge30Se70 bulk glasses. The Raman spectra of the films showed that peaks at 260 cm−1 and 216 cm−1 decreased their intensities with increasing Ag content in the thin films. The significant red shift of bandgap energy occurred upon different Ag content. The optically induced dissolution and diffusion resulted in graded refractive index profile along the film thickness caused by different Ag concentration. The refractive index increased from the substrate side to the top of thin films. The graded profile was getting more uniform with increasing content of silver in the thin film.  相似文献

Tantalum-substituted Bi4Ti3O12 (Bi4Ti3-x/5Tax/5O12, BTTO) thin films were fabricated on Pt(111)/Ti/SiO2/Si(100) substrates by sol–gel technology. The effects of various processing parameters, including Ta content (x=0~0.08) and annealing temperature (500~800 °C), on the growth and properties of thin films were investigated. X-ray diffraction analysis shows that the BTTO thin films have a bismuth-layered perovskite structure with preferred (117) orientation. With the increase of Ta content, the grain size of film decreased slightly, and highly (117)-oriented BTTO films were obtained in the composition of x=0.06. Ta doping on the B-site of Bi4Ti3O12 could induce the distortion of oxygen octahedral and decrease the oxygen vacancy concentration by a compensating effect. The highly (117)-oriented BTTO thin films with x=0.06 exhibits the maximum remanent polarization (2Pr) of 50 μC/cm2 and a low coercive field (2Ec) of 104 kV/cm, fatigue free characteristics up to ≧ 108 switching cycles.  相似文献

Sb2S3 thin films are obtained by evaporating of Sb2S3 powder onto glass substrates maintained at room temperature under pressure of 2×10‐5 torr. The composition of the thin films was determined by energy dispersive analysis of X‐ray (EDAX). The effect of thermal annealing in vacuum on the structural properties was studied using X‐ray diffraction (XRD) technique and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The as‐deposition films were amorphous, while the annealed films have an orthorhombic polycrystalline structure. The optical constants of as‐deposited and annealed Sb2S3 thin films were obtained from the analysis of the experimental recorded transmission spectral data over the wavelength range 400‐1400 nm. The transmittance analysis allowed the determination of refractive index as function of wavelength. It was found that the refractive dispersion data obeyed the single oscillator model, from which the dispersion parameters (oscillator energy, E0, dispersion energy, Ed) were determined. The static refractive index n(0), static dielectric constant, ε, and optical band gap energy, Eg, were also calculated using the values of dispersion parameters. (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. The ionic conductivity of evaporated Li2OB2O3 thin films has been studied. These thin films were found to show a considerably high ionic conductivity of 1 × 10?7 Ω?1 cm?1 at room temperature. The conductivity increases with increasing Li content and exhibits a maximum value near 3Li2O·B2O3. The structure of these films was determined using infrared absorption and laser Raman scattering spectroscopy. Using the results, the correlation between structure and conductivity is also discussed.  相似文献

Lead titanate powders and thin films were prepared by the sol-gel process of metal alkoxide solutions and solvents. From DSC measurements, phase transition temperature of crystallized PbTiO3 powders was obtained at about 484 °C. From XRD investigation, it was confirmed that the tetragonal phase of polycrystalline PbTiO3 thin films is formed by coating of concentrated solution on all of the substrates we used after heat treatment above 500 °C. It was found by SEM and ellipsometric analysis that the thin film coated with 0.25 M concentrated solutions once had an average thickness of about 720 Å. Surfaces of thin films were crack-free, uniform, and its average grain size investigated by SEM was 0.6–0.8 μm. Band gap energy of PbTiO3 thin film coated on the Al2O3 (2243) substrate was 3.45 eV, which is assumed to be due to the direct band to band transition. Dielectric constant (ϵ) and dielectric loss (tan δ) of PbTiO3 thin film amounted to 60–70 and 0.01–0.02 in the region of 10 kHz ∼ 1 MHz at room temperature, respectively, and transition temperature was 486 °C at 1 MHz. From the hysteresis loop of PbTiO3 thin film, spontaneous polarization of 12 μC/cm2 and coercive filed of 45 kV/cm were obtained.  相似文献

Fluorinated nanoporous silica (denoted as SiO2:F) thin films with low dielectric constant were prepared by a sol-gel method and spin coating technique. The leakage current densities of the SiO2:F thin films were 10−8 and 3 × 10−6 A/cm2 respectively for the as-deposited films and for those subjected to annealing at a temperature of 450 °C. These currents are more than one order of magnitude lower than those of the common SiO2 films. Photoluminescent results showed strong blue-light emission and a small blue shift in the SiO2:F films that were related to the increment of the porosity. The dielectric properties were also characterized and the k value of the annealed SiO2:F film was found to be about 1.67. The hole size in the films is small and the size distribution is uniform for the annealed SiO2:F samples due to the effects of fluorination. The underlying mechanism for fluorination is discussed in this paper.  相似文献

The optical properties of the Ag-In-Se (AIS) thin films deposited by e-beam technique were investigated by means of the optical transmittance measurements. The optical absorption coefficients of the films were found to vary from 103 to 105 cm−1 over the wavelength range of 300-1100 nm. The real and imaginary parts of the refractive index and dielectric constant for the as-grown and annealed films in between 100 and 400 °C were evaluated by means of both envelope method (EM) and continuous wavelet transform (CWT) method and the results were in quite good agreement with each other. The refractive index, n, dispersion over the measured wavelength range was explained by applying single-oscillator model (SOM) and the related parameters were calculated. The optical absorption process for the AIS thin films was characterized by three direct transitions from three closely spaced valence bands to a single conduction band due to the splitting of the valence band under the influence of the tetragonal crystalline field and spin-orbit interaction. The direct optical band gap energy decreases as the annealing temperature increases because of the increase in the width of band tail states near valence-band edge caused by the Se segregation. The two distinct parameters of the quasicubic model; crystal-field splitting, ΔCF, and spin-orbit splitting, ΔSO, were calculated for as-grown and annealed AIS thin films.  相似文献

Transparent dielectric thin films of MgO has been deposited on quartz substrates at different temperatures between 400 and 600°C by a pneumatic spray pyrolysis technique using Mg(CH3COO)2·4H2O as a single molecular precursor. The thermal behavior of the precursor magnesium acetate is described in the results of thermogravimetry analysis (TGA) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The prepared films are reproducible, adherent to the substrate, pinhole free and uniform. Amongst the different spray process parameters, the substrate temperature effect has been optimized for obtaining single crystalline and transparent MgO thin films. The films crystallize in a cubic structure and X‐ray diffraction measurements have shown that the polycrystalline MgO films prepared at 500°C with (100) and (110) orientations are changed to (100) preferred orientation at 600°C. The MgO phase formation was also confirmed with the recorded Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) results. The films deposited at 600°C exhibited highest optical transmittivity (>80%) and the direct band gap energy was found to vary from 4.50 to 5.25 eV with a rise in substrate temperature from 500 to 600°C. The measured sheet resistance and the resistivity of the film prepared at 600°C were respectively 1013Ω/□ and 2.06x107Ω cm. The surface morphology of the prepared MgO thin films was examined by atomic force microscopy. (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

The properties of RbxK1-xTiOPO4 thin films grown on KTiOPO4 substrates are reported. High quality films were obtained using the flux liquid phase epitaxy method, and optical waveguiding was observed in these epitaxial films. X-ray analysis shows that the epitaxial films are single crystals films. Their cell constants are different from those of the substrates. The epitaxy growth rate and other film properties were compared for films grown on different faces. Two different surface morphologies were observed for films grown on (100) faces. The morphologies on (201) and (201) faces were also different. The quality of films grown on the (201) face was better. The reason for a structure inversion for films grown on the z face is discussed.  相似文献

Cd0.9Zn0.1Te thin films were prepared by vacuum evaporation onto well‐cleaned glass substrates maintained at 300, 373 and 473 K. X‐ray diffraction studies revealed that the films have zinc blende structure with preferential (111) orientation. Raman peak of the room temperature deposited film appeared at 140.30 cm‐1 and 159.65 cm‐1 were for the transverse optic (TO) and longitudinal optic (LO) phonons respectively. The XRD patterns of the higher substrate temperature deposited films exhibited an improvement in the crystallinity of the films. The Raman peak intensity increases and the FWHM decreases for the films deposited at higher substrate temperature. (© 2004 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

The TiO2 thin films loaded with silver nanoparticles were prepared on soda-lime glass substrates by a photoinduced deposition method. The TiO2 films immersed in AgNO3 solution were vertically irradiated by UV light with center wavelength of 365 nm for 60 h. The as-produced films were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV–Vis spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The studies show that the film after UV excitation is composed of anatase phase TiO2 and metallic silver with face centered cubic structure. A possible growth mechanism of silver nanoparticles on TiO2 thin films under UV irradiation was proposed. The charge carriers of TiO2 semiconductor are generated by photoexcitation. Owing to the conduction band position of TiO2 which is above the standard potential of Ag+/Ag, the generated electrons could transfer from the conduction band to Ag+ adsorbed on the surface of the TiO2 films. Therefore, the Ag+ was finally reduced into a Ag atom, which could preferentially localize in the grain boundaries of TiO2 particles due to high surface free energy there. With the irradiation time extended, silver nanoparticles were shaped into certain morphologies on the surface of the TiO2 films.  相似文献

Zirconium oxide thin films were grown by atomic layer deposition using a new type of Zr alkoxide: [Zr(OtBu)2(dmae)2]2 (dmae is dimethylaminoethoxide). Water was used as the oxygen source. The films grown at 190-240 °C were amorphous, and the films grown at 290-340 °C were nanocrystalline. The highest refractive index of the films was 2.08 at a wavelength of 580 nm. The permittivity of a film grown at 240 °C was 25.  相似文献

Using a highly conductive ZnO(ZnAl2O4) ceramic target, c-axis-oriented transparent conductive ZnO:Al2O3 (ZAO) thin films were prepared on glass sheet substrates by direct current planar magnetron sputtering. The structural, electrical and optical properties of the films (deposited at different temperatures and annealed at 400°C in vacuum) were characterized with several techniques. The experimental results show that the electrical resistivity of films deposited at 320°C is 2.67×10−4 Ω cm and can be further reduced to as low as 1.5×10−4 Ω cm by annealing at 400°C for 2 h in a vacuum pressure of 10−5 Torr. ZAO thin films deposited at room temperature have flaky crystallites with an average grain size of ∼100 nm; however those deposited at 320°C have tetrahedron grains with an average grain size of ∼150 nm. By increasing the deposition temperature or the post-deposition vacuum annealing, the carrier concentration of ZAO thin films increases, and the absorption edge in the transmission spectra shifts toward the shorter wavelength side (blue shift).  相似文献

Erbium (Er3+) doped LiNbO3 single crystal thin films have been grown LiNbO3 (001) substrate by the liquid phase epitaxy method. The crystallinity was determined by high‐resolution X‐ray diffraction. The lattice mismatch between Er3+ doped LiNbO3 films and LiNbO3 (001) substrate was investigated by X‐ray rocking curve analysis. Also we studied the structural characteristics of Er3+ doped LiNbO3 films and surface morphology dependent on the film thickness.  相似文献

The tetragonal crystal‐structure type of chalcopyrites (chemical formula AIBIIICVI2) is a superstructure of sphalerite type. The c /a ratio differs generally from the ideal value 2, i.e., the crystal structure is pseudocubically distorted. For CuInSe2 and CuGaSe2 thin films, simulations demonstrate that it is theoretically possible to reveal the tetragonality in electron backscatter‐diffraction (EBSD) patterns for CuGaSe2, whereas it may not be possible for CuInSe2. EBSD experiments on CuGaSe2 thin films using the ”Advanced Fit” band‐detection method show that it is possible to extract accurate misorientation‐angle distributions from the CuGaSe2 thin film. Pole figures revealing the texture of the CuGaSe2 thin film are shown, which agree well with X‐ray texture measurements from the same layer. (© 2008 WILEY ‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
