Aerogels are fascinating materials that can be used for a wide range of applications, one of which is electrocatalysis of the important oxygen reduction reaction. In their inorganic form, aerogels can have ultrahigh catalytic site density, high surface area, and tunable physical properties and chemical structures—important features in heterogeneous catalysis. Herein, we report on the synthesis and electrocatalytic properties of an iron–porphyrin aerogel. 5,10,15,20-(Tetra-4-aminophenyl)porphyrin (H2TAPP) and FeII were used as building blocks of the aerogel, which was later heat-treated at 600 °C to enhance electronic conductivity and catalytic activity, while preserving its macrostructure. The resulting material has a very high concentration of atomically dispersed catalytic sites (9.7×1020 sites g−1) capable of catalyzing the oxygen reduction reaction in alkaline solution (Eonset=0.92 V vs. RHE, TOF=0.25 e site−1 s−1 at 0.80 V vs. RHE).  相似文献

The reaction of precursors containing both nitrogen and oxygen atoms with NiII under 500 °C can generate a N/O mixing coordinated Ni‐N3O single‐atom catalyst (SAC) in which the oxygen atom can be gradually removed under high temperature due to the weaker Ni?O interaction, resulting in a vacancy‐defect Ni‐N3‐V SAC at Ni site under 800 °C. For the reaction of NiII with the precursor simply containing nitrogen atoms, only a no‐vacancy‐defect Ni‐N4 SAC was obtained. Experimental and DFT calculations reveal that the presence of a vacancy‐defect in Ni‐N3‐V SAC can dramatically boost the electrocatalytic activity for CO2 reduction, with extremely high CO2 reduction current density of 65 mA cm?2 and high Faradaic efficiency over 90 % at ?0.9 V vs. RHE, as well as a record high turnover frequency of 1.35×105 h?1, much higher than those of Ni‐N4 SAC, and being one of the best reported electrocatalysts for CO2‐to‐CO conversion to date.  相似文献

The conversion of biomass into valuable carbon composites as efficient non‐precious metal oxygen‐reduction electrocatalysts is attractive for the development of commercially viable polymer electrolyte membrane fuel‐cell technology. Herein, a versatile iron–tannin‐framework ink coating strategy is developed to fabricate cellulose‐derived Fe3C/Fe‐N‐C catalysts using commercial filter paper, tissue, or cotton as a carbon source, an iron–tannin framework as an iron source, and dicyandiamide as a nitrogen source. The oxygen reduction performance of the resultant Fe3C/Fe‐N‐C catalysts shows a high onset potential (i.e. 0.98 V vs the reversible hydrogen electrode (RHE)), and large kinetic current density normalized to both geometric electrode area and mass of catalysts (6.4 mA cm?2 and 32 mA mg?1 at 0.80 V vs RHE) in alkaline condition. This method can even be used to prepare efficient catalysts using waste carbon sources, such as used polyurethane foam.  相似文献

Layered two‐dimensional (2D) conjugated metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) represent a family of rising electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), due to the controllable architectures, excellent electrical conductivity, and highly exposed well‐defined molecular active sites. Herein, we report a copper phthalocyanine based 2D conjugated MOF with square‐planar cobalt bis(dihydroxy) complexes (Co‐O4) as linkages (PcCu‐O8‐Co) and layer‐stacked structures prepared via solvothermal synthesis. PcCu‐O8‐Co 2D MOF mixed with carbon nanotubes exhibits excellent electrocatalytic ORR activity (E1/2=0.83 V vs. RHE, n=3.93, and jL=5.3 mA cm?2) in alkaline media, which is the record value among the reported intrinsic MOF electrocatalysts. Supported by in situ Raman spectro‐electrochemistry and theoretical modeling as well as contrast catalytic tests, we identified the cobalt nodes as ORR active sites. Furthermore, when employed as a cathode electrocatalyst for zinc–air batteries, PcCu‐O8‐Co delivers a maximum power density of 94 mW cm?2, outperforming the state‐of‐the‐art Pt/C electrocatalysts (78.3 mW cm?2).  相似文献

The electrochemical reduction of CO2 presents a promising strategy to mitigate the greenhouse effect and reduce excess carbon dioxide emission to realize a carbon-neutral energy cycle, but it suffers from the lack of high-performance electrocatalysts. In this work, catalytic active cobalt porphyrin [TCPP(Co)=(5,10,15,20)-tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)porphyrin-CoII] was precisely anchored onto water-stable 2D metal–organic framework (MOF) nanosheets (Zr-BTB) to obtain ultrathin 2D MOF nanosheets [TCPP(Co)/Zr-BTB] with accessible catalytic sites for the CO2 reduction reaction. Compared with molecular cobalt porphyrin, the TCPP(Co)/Zr-BTB exhibits an ultrahigh turnover frequency (TOF=4768 h−1 at −0.919 V vs. reversible hydrogen electrode, RHE) owing to high active-site utilization. In addition, three post-modified 2D MOF nanosheets [TCPP(Co)/Zr-BTB-PABA, TCPP(Co)/Zr-BTB-PSBA, TCPP(Co)/Zr-BTB-PSABA] were obtained, with the modifiers of p-(aminomethyl)benzoic acid (PABA), p-sulfobenzoic acid potassium (PSBA), and p-sulfamidobenzoic acid (PSABA), to change the micro-environments around TCPP(Co) through the tuning of steric effects. Among them, the TCPP(Co)/Zr-BTB-PSABA exhibited the best performance with a faradaic efficiency (FECO) of 85.1 %, TOF of 5315 h−1, and jtotal of 6 mA cm−2 at −0.769 V (vs. RHE). In addition, the long-term durability of the electrocatalysts is evaluated and the role of pH buffer is revealed.  相似文献

Heteroatom‐doped carbon materials have been widely used in energy storage and conversion such as supercapacitors and electrocatalysts. In this work, L‐asparagine (Asn), an amino acid derivative, has been used as a doping agent to prepare nitrogen‐ doped reduced graphene oxide gels (N‐GAs). The 3D interconnected structure gives rise to the superior electrochemical properties for supercapacitor and electrocatalytic oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). The N‐GA‐4 (the mass ratio of Asn to graphene oxide (GO) is 4 : 1 by hydrothermal method) electrode shows the capacitance of 291.6 F·g–1 at 0.5 A·g–1. Meanwhile, the assembled symmetric supercapacitor achieves a maximum energy density of 23.8 Wh· kg–1 when the power density is 451.2 W·kg–1, and demonstrates an ultralong cycling life that the retention of capacitance is 99.3% after 80000 cycles. What's more, the annealed aerogel N‐GA‐4‐900 exhibits an onset potential (Eonset) of 0.95 V, half wave potential (E1/2) of 0.84 V (vs. RHE) and the oxygen reduction current density of 5.5 mA·cm–2 at 0.1 V with nearly four‐electron transfer, which are superior to commercial Pt/C. This work offers a new insight into the synthesis and applications of N‐GAs materials towards high performance in supercapacitors and ORR.  相似文献

The electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) to give C1 (formate and CO) products is one of the most techno‐economically achievable strategies for alleviating CO2 emissions. Now, it is demonstrated that the SnOx shell in Sn2.7Cu catalyst with a hierarchical Sn‐Cu core can be reconstructed in situ under cathodic potentials of CO2RR. The resulting Sn2.7Cu catalyst achieves a high current density of 406.7±14.4 mA cm?2 with C1 Faradaic efficiency of 98.0±0.9 % at ?0.70 V vs. RHE, and remains stable at 243.1±19.2 mA cm?2 with a C1 Faradaic efficiency of 99.0±0.5 % for 40 h at ?0.55 V vs. RHE. DFT calculations indicate that the reconstructed Sn/SnOx interface facilitates formic acid production by optimizing binding of the reaction intermediate HCOO* while promotes Faradaic efficiency of C1 products by suppressing the competitive hydrogen evolution reaction, resulting in high Faradaic efficiency, current density, and stability of CO2RR at low overpotentials.  相似文献

Porphyrin nanorods (PNR) were prepared by ionic self‐assembly of two oppositely charged porphyrin molecules consisting of free base meso‐tetraphenylsulfonate porphyrin (H4TPPS42?) and meso‐tetra(N‐methyl‐4‐pyridyl) porphyrin (MTMePyP4+M=Sn, Mn, In, Co). These consist of H4TPPS42?? SnTMePyP4+, H4TPPS42?? CoTMePyP4+, H4TPPS42?? InTMePyP4+ and H4TPPS42?? MnTMePyP4+ porphyrin nanorods. The absorption spectra and transmission electron microscopic (TEM) images of these structures were obtained. These porphyrin nanostructures were used to modify a glassy carbon electrode for the electrocatalytic reduction of oxygen, and the oxidation of hydrazine and methanol at low pH. The cyclic voltammogram of PNR‐modified GCE in pH 2 buffer solution has five irreversible processes, two distinct reduction processes and three oxidation processes. The porphyrin nanorods modified GCE produce good responses especially towards oxygen reduction at ?0.50 V vs. Ag|AgCl (3 M KCl). The process of electrocatalytic oxidation of methanol using PNR‐modified GCE begins at 0.71 V vs. Ag|AgCl (3 M KCl). The electrochemical oxidation of hydrazine began at around 0.36 V on H4TPPS42?? SnTMePyP4+ modified GCE. The GCE modified with H4TPPS42?? CoTMePyP4+ H4TPPS42?? InTMePyP4+ and H4TPPS42?? MnTMePyP4+ porphyrin nanorods began oxidizing hydrazine at 0.54 V, 0.59 V and 0.56 V, respectively.  相似文献

The effect of flame annealing on the water‐splitting properties of Sn decorated hematite (α‐Fe2O3) nanoflakes has been investigated. It is shown that flame annealing can yield a considerable enhancement in the maximum photocurrent under AM 1.5 (100 mW cm?2) conditions compared to classic furnace annealing treatments. Optimizing the annealing time (10 s at 1000 °C) leads to a photocurrent of 1.1 mA cm?2 at 1.23 V (vs. RHE) with a maximum value 1.6 mA cm?2 at 1.6 V (vs. RHE) in 1 M KOH. The improvement in photocurrent can be attributed to the fast direct heating that maintains the nanoscale morphology, leads to optimized Sn decoration, and minimizes detrimental substrate effects.  相似文献

A series of porphyrin‐based imine gels have been synthesized via dynamic covalent gelation between 5,10,15,20‐tetra(4‐aminophenyl)‐21H,23H‐porphyrin (H2TAPP) derivatives and various aldehyde compounds. The porphyrin‐ferrocene imine gels based on MTAPP (M=H2, Ni2+, Co2+, Pd2+ and Zn2+) and ferrocene‐1,1′‐dicarbaldehyde (NA) display efficient HER, OER and ORR activities in alkaline media. Among the gels, CoTAPP‐NA shows an HER current density of 10 mA cm?2 at low overpotential of 470 mV and small Tafel slope of 110 mV decade?1 in alkaline media. CoTAPP‐NA also exhibits OER catalytic activity with low overpotential (416 mV for 10 mA cm?2). CoTAPP‐NA shows ability in overall water splitting in alkaline media. In addition, CoTAPP‐NA exhibits onset potential (Ep) of 0.95 V and half‐wave potential (E1/2) of 0.84 V in 1.0 mol L?1 KOH solution for oxygen reduction. Moreover, the gel catalyst shows good stability.  相似文献

Herein, we developed a partially controlled pyrolysis strategy to create evenly distributed NiO nanoparticles within NiFe‐MOF nanosheets (MOF NSs) for electrochemical synthesis of H2O2 by a two‐electron oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). The elemental Ni can be partially transformed to NiO and uniformly distributed on the surface of the MOF NSs, which is crucial for the formation of the particular structure. The optimized MOF NSs‐300 exhibits the highest activity for ORR with near‐zero overpotential and excellent H2O2 selectivity (ca. 99 %) in 0.1 m KOH solution. A high‐yield H2O2 production rate of 6.5 mol gcat?1 h?1 has also been achieved by MOF NSs‐300 in 0.1 m KOH and at 0.6 V (vs. RHE). In contrast to completely pyrolyzed products, the enhanced catalytic activities of partially pyrolyzed MOF NSs‐300 originates mainly from the retained MOF structure and the newly generated NiO nanoparticles, forming the coordinatively unsaturated Ni atoms and tuning the performance towards electrochemical H2O2 synthesis.  相似文献

In this work, a new porphyrin, the 5,10,15,20‐tetrakis‐(2,6‐difluoro‐3‐sulfonatophenyl) porphyrinato iron(III) chloride (denoted as FeTsP) was immobilized on SiO2/Al2O3 (SiAl) coated with n‐propylpyridiniumsilsesquioxane polymer (SiPy+Cl?). The FeTsP was adsorbed on SiAl/SiPyCl by an ion exchange reaction, obtaining a modified solid, SiAl/SiPy/FeTsP, where the porphyrin complex was strongly adhered. Cyclic voltammograms of the SiAl/SiPy/FeTsP carbon paste electrode showed an irreversible response, with an oxidation peak at Epa=0.40 V and nondefined reduction peak at Epc=0.15 V (vs. SCE). These peaks were not observed for the nonmetallated porphyrin, indicating that they probably correspond to the Fe(III)/Fe(II) process. Studies made in solutions having different pH, (between pH 2 and 9) using the modified electrode showed that the peak potentials and the current density were not affect by pH changes, indicating that the iron porphyrin is very stable and strongly entrapped in the matrix. The modified electrode presented the property to electrocatalyze the eletrooxidation of hydrazine at 0.41 V (vs. SCE), at pH 7. The potentiality of the SiAl/SiPy/FeTsP electrode as a sensor for hydrazine was evaluated by the using the chronoamperometric technique. A linear response was obtained in the concentration range between 5×10?5 and 6×10?4 mol L?1 of hydrazine.  相似文献

The construction and understanding of synergy in well-defined dual-atom active sites is an available avenue to promote multistep tandem catalytic reactions. Herein, we construct a dual-hetero-atom catalyst that comprises adjacent Cu-N4 and Se-C3 active sites for efficient oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity. Operando X-ray absorption spectroscopy coupled with theoretical calculations provide in-depth insights into this dual-atom synergy mechanism for ORR under realistic device operation conditions. The heteroatom Se modulator can efficiently polarize the charge distribution around symmetrical Cu-N4 moieties, and serve as synergistic site to facilitate the second oxygen reduction step simultaneously, in which the key OOH*-(Cu1-N4) transforms to O*-(Se1-C2) intermediate on the dual-atom sites. Therefore, this designed catalyst achieves satisfied alkaline ORR activity with a half-wave potential of 0.905 V vs. RHE and a maximum power density of 206.5 mW cm−2 in Zn-air battery.  相似文献

Combining the advantages of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts, single‐atom catalysts (SACs) are bringing new opportunities to revolutionize ORR catalysis in terms of cost, activity and durability. However, the lack of high‐performance SACs as well as the fundamental understanding of their unique catalytic mechanisms call for serious advances in this field. Herein, for the first time, we develop an Ir‐N‐C single‐atom catalyst (Ir‐SAC) which mimics homogeneous iridium porphyrins for high‐efficiency ORR catalysis. In accordance with theoretical predictions, the as‐developed Ir‐SAC exhibits orders of magnitude higher ORR activity than iridium nanoparticles with a record‐high turnover frequency (TOF) of 24.3 e? site?1 s?1 at 0.85 V vs. RHE) and an impressive mass activity of 12.2 A mg?1Ir, which far outperforms the previously reported SACs and commercial Pt/C. Atomic structural characterizations and density functional theory calculations reveal that the high activity of Ir‐SAC is attributed to the moderate adsorption energy of reaction intermediates on the mononuclear iridium ion coordinated with four nitrogen atom sites.  相似文献

Group 6 transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), such as MoS2 and WS2 have been extensively studied for various applications while few studies have delved into other TMDs such as platinum dichalcogenides. In this work, layered crystalline and amorphous platinum disulfide (PtS2) were synthesized, characterised and their fundamental electrochemical properties were investigated. Both materials exhibited inherent oxidation and reduction reactions which would limit their operating potential window for sensing applications. Amorphous phase materials are considered to be promising electrocatalysts due to the porous, and nanostructured morphology with high concentration of unsaturated active sites. The electrocatalytic performances towards oxygen reduction (ORR) and hydrogen evolution reactions (HER) of crystalline and amorphous PtS2 were analysed. Amorphous PtS2 was found to exhibit superior electrocatalytic performances towards ORR and HER as compared to crystalline PtS2. For HER, amorphous and crystalline PtS2 have overpotential values of 0.30 V and 0.70 V (vs. RHE) at current density of 10 mA cm−2, respectively. The influence of electrochemical reduction pre-treatment on their catalytic behaviours was also investigated. Electrochemical reduction pre-treatment on both crystalline and amorphous PtS2 removed the oxidized sulfate groups and increased the proportion of Pt0 oxidation state which exposed more catalytic sites. As such, these materials were activated and displayed improved ORR and HER performances. Electrochemically reduced amorphous PtS2 outperformed the untreated counterparts and exhibited the best HER performance with overpotential of 0.17 V (vs. RHE) at current density of −10 mA cm−2. These findings provide insights into the electrochemical properties of noble metal PtS2 in both crystalline and amorphous states which can be activated by electrochemical reduction pre-treatment.  相似文献

To apply electrically nonconductive metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) in an electrocatalytic oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), we have developed a new method for fabricating various amounts of CuS nanoparticles (nano‐CuS) in/on a 3D Cu–MOF, [Cu3(BTC)2?(H2O)3] (BTC=1,3,5‐benzenetricarboxylate). As the amount of nano‐CuS increases in the composite, the electrical conductivity increases exponentially by up to circa 109‐fold, while porosity decreases, compared with that of the pristine Cu‐MOF. The composites, nano‐CuS(x wt %)@Cu‐BTC, exhibit significantly higher electrocatalytic ORR activities than Cu‐BTC or nano‐CuS in an alkaline solution. The onset potential, electron transfer number, and kinetic current density increase when the electrical conductivity of the material increases but decrease when the material has a poor porosity, which shows that the two factors should be finely tuned by the amount of nano‐CuS for ORR application. Of these materials, CuS(28 wt %)@Cu‐BTC exhibits the best activity, showing the onset potential of 0.91 V vs. RHE, quasi‐four‐electron transfer pathway, and a kinetic current density of 11.3 mA cm?2 at 0.55 V vs. RHE.  相似文献

A series of Fe3C/C‐Nx nanoparticles (NPs) with different nitrogen content are prepared by a simple one‐pot route. In the synthetic procedure, aniline and acetonitrile are simultaneously used as the carbon and nitrogen source. The effect of calcination temperature on the structural and functional properties of the materials is investigated. Magnetic measurement shows that the sample prepared at 800 °C (Fe3C/C‐N800 NPs) possesses the highest Ms value of 77.2 emu g?1. On testing as oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) catalysts, the sample prepared at 750 °C (Fe3C/C‐N750 NPs) shows the best ORR performance among the series, with a more positive onset potential (+0.99 V vs. RHE), higher selectivity (number of electron transfer n≈3.93), longer durability, and stronger tolerance against methanol crossover than commercial Pt/C catalysts in a 0.1 m KOH solution. Moreover, in acidic solution, the excellent ORR activity and stability are also exhibited.  相似文献

Abstract

Hemin, iron (III) protoporphyrin IX chloride, in NH3‐NH4Cl buffer solution of pH 9.5 produces an insensitive reduction wave at about ?0.70 V (vs. saturated calomel reference electrode, SCE) by using single sweep polarography. Adding oxidant K2S2O8 to the solution, hemin reduction wave is catalyzed, yielding a parallel catalytic wave. The catalytic current is 20 times of hemin original reduction current. The derivative peak height is linearly proportional to the hemin concentration in the range of 7.5×10?8 to 4.5×10?6 mol/l, the detection limit is 5.0×10?8 mol/l. Serum albumin, common amino acids, and metal ions have no interference with the hemin determination. The proposed method has been applied to the determination of hemin content in oral liquid samples with satisfactory results. The parallel catalytic wave is attributed to the catalytic reduction of porphyrin ring of hemin at the dropping mercury electrode. The new method could be useful in biochemical, clinical, and pharmaceutical analysis.  相似文献

The polarographic behavior of gemfibrozil is investigated in 0.2 mol L?1 KH2PO4‐Na2HPO4 (pH 5.8±0.1)‐8% ethanol supporting electrolyte in the absence and the presence of dissolved oxygen. The results demonstrate that the polarographic reduction peak at ca. ?1.17 V is a catalytic hydrogen wave after deaeration, and the enhanced reduction peak in the presence of dissolved oxygen is the so‐called parallel catalytic hydrogen wave. Based on the parallel catalytic hydrogen wave, a novel method has been developed for the determination of gemfibrozil by single sweep polarography. Calibration plot is linear in the range of 1.8×10?7–2.4×10?6 mol L?1 and detection limit is 9.0×10?8 mol L?1. The proposed method is applied to the direct determination of the gemfibrozil in pharmaceutical preparations. The proposed method is simpler, faster and more sensitive than the known methods for gemfibrozil analyses.  相似文献

Metal complexes have been widely investigated as promising electrocatalysts for CO2 reduction. Most of the current research efforts focus mainly on ligands based on pyrrole subunits, and the reported activities are still far from satisfactory. A novel planar and conjugated N4‐macrocyclic cobalt complex (Co(II)CPY) derived from phenanthroline subunits is prepared herein, and it delivers high activity for heterogeneous CO2 electrocatalysis to CO in aqueous media, and outperforms most of the metal complexes reported so far. At a molar loading of 5.93×10?8 mol cm?2, it exhibits a Faradaic efficiency of 96 % and a turnover frequency of 9.59 s?1 towards CO at ?0.70 V vs. RHE. The unraveling of electronic structural features suggests that a synergistic effect between the ligand and cobalt in Co(II)CPY plays a critical role in boosting its activity. As a result, the free energy difference for the formation of *COOH is lower than that with cobalt porphyrin, thus leading to enhanced CO production.  相似文献
