An inverse spectral problem is studied for a non-selfadjoint Sturm-Liouville operator on a finite interval with an arbitrary behavior of the spectrum. The spectral data introduced generalize the classical discrete spectral data corresponding to the specification of the spectral function in the selfadjoint case. The connection with other types of spectral characteristics is investigated and a uniqueness theorem is proved. A constructive procedure for solving the inverse problem is given.  相似文献

In Bellassoued, Choulli and Yamamoto (2009) [4] we proved a log-log type stability estimate for a multidimensional inverse spectral problem with partial spectral data for a Schrödinger operator, provided that the potential is known in a small neighbourhood of the boundary of the domain. In the present paper we discuss the same inverse problem. We show a log type stability estimate under an additional condition on potentials in terms of their X-ray transform. In proving our result, we follow the same method as in Alessandrini and Sylvester (1990) [1] and Bellassoued, Choulli and Yamamoto (2009) [4]. That is we relate the stability estimate for our inverse spectral problem to a stability estimate for an inverse problem consisting in the determination of the potential in a wave equation from a local Dirichlet to Neumann map (DN map in short).  相似文献

In this paper, the direct and inverse isoenergy spectral problems are solved for a class of multidimensional periodic difference operators. It is proved that the inverse spectral problem is solvable in terms of theta functions of curves added to the spectral variety under compactification, and multidimensional analogs of the Veselov–Novikov relations are found.  相似文献

We consider second-order functional differential operators with a constant delay. Properties of their spectral characteristics are obtained and a nonlinear inverse problem is studied, which consists in recovering the operators from their spectra. We establish the uniqueness and develop a constructive algorithm for solution of the inverse problem.  相似文献

The paper deals with the Sturm–Liouville eigenvalue problem with the Dirichlet boundary condition at one end of the interval and with the boundary condition containing entire functions of the spectral parameter at the other end. We study the inverse problem, which consists in recovering the potential from a part of the spectrum. This inverse problem generalizes partial inverse problems on finite intervals and on graphs and also the inverse transmission eigenvalue problem. We obtain sufficient conditions for global solvability of the studied inverse problem, which prove its local solvability and stability. In addition, application of our main results to the partial inverse Sturm–Liouville problem on the star-shaped graph is provided.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider an inverse problem for a class of two-dimensional diffusion equations with piecewise constant coefficients. This problem is studied using an explicit formula for the relevant spectral measures and an asymptotic expansion of the solution of the diffusion equations. A numerical method that reduces the inverse problem to a sequence of nonlinear least-square problems is proposed and tested on synthetic data.  相似文献

This paper revisits the classical problem “Can we hear the density of a string?”, which can be formulated as an inverse spectral problem for a Sturm-Liouville operator. Instead of inverting the map from density to spectral data directly, we propose a novel method to reconstruct the density based on inverting a sequence of trace formulas which bridge the density and its spectral data clearly in terms of a series of nonlinear integral equations. Numerical experiments are presented to verify the validity and effectiveness of the proposed numerical algorithm. The impact of different parameters involved in the algorithm is also discussed.  相似文献

This work is concerned with the inverse problem for ocean acoustics modeled by a multilayered waveguide with a finite depth. We provide explicit formulae to locate the layers, including the seabed, and reconstruct the speed of sound and the densities in each layer from measurements collected on the surface of the waveguide. We proceed in two steps. First, we use Gaussian type excitations on the upper surface of the waveguide and then from the corresponding scattered fields, collected on the same surface, we recover the boundary spectral data of the related 1D spectral problem. Second, from these spectral data, we reconstruct the values of the normal derivatives of the singular solutions, of the original waveguide problem, on that upper surface. Finally, we derive formulae to reconstruct the layers from these values based on the asymptotic expansion of these singular solutions in terms of the source points.  相似文献

An inverse problem of reconstructing the initial condition for a time fractional diffusion equation is investigated. On the basis of the optimal control framework, the uniqueness and first order necessary optimality condition of the minimizer for the objective functional are established, and a time-space spectral method is proposed to numerically solve the resulting minimization problem. The contribution of the paper is threefold: 1) a priori error estimate for the spectral approximation is derived; 2) a conjugate gradient optimization algorithm is designed to efficiently solve the inverse problem; 3) some numerical experiments are carried out to show that the proposed method is capable to find out the optimal initial condition, and that the convergence rate of the method is exponential if the optimal initial condition is smooth.  相似文献

We consider a boundary value problem generated by the Sturm-Liouville equation on a finite interval. Both the equation and the boundary conditions depend quadratically on the spectral parameter. This boundary value problem occurs in the theory of small vibrations of a damped string. The inverse problem, i.e., the problem of recovering the equation and the boundary conditions from the given spectrum, is solved.  相似文献

We propose an algorithm for the recovery of a potential from the knowledge of the eigenvalues of the Laplacian operator and the traces of its eigenfunctions. This inverse spectral problem is solved by recasting the operator as an infinite matrix and using transition matrices together with spectral projections on the boundary.  相似文献

In this study we derive the Gelfand-Levitan-Marchenko type main integral equation of the inverse problem for the boundary value problem $L$ and prove the uniquely solvability of the main integral equation. Further, we give the solution of the inverse problem by the spectral data and by two spectrum.  相似文献

The uniqueness problem of inverse Sturm–Liouville problems with the potential known on an interior subinterval is considered. We prove that the potential on the entire interval and boundary conditions are uniquely determined in terms of the known eigenvalues and some information on the eigenfunctions at some interior point (interior spectral data). Moreover, we also concern with the situation where the potential q is C2k-smoothness at some given points.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss the half inverse problem for Sturm–Liouville equations with boundary conditions dependent on the spectral parameter and a finite number of discontinuities inside the interval and prove the Hochstadt–Liberman type theorem for the above boundary-valued problem.  相似文献

We solve the inverse spectral problem of recovering the singular potential from W−12(0,1) of a Sturm-Liouville operator by its spectra on the three intervals [0,1], [0,a], and [a,1] for some a∈(0,1). Necessary and sufficient conditions on the spectral data are derived, and uniqueness of the solution is analyzed.  相似文献

Sturm—Liouville differential operators on compact graphs are studied. We establish properties of the spectral characteristics and investigate three inverse problems of recovering the operator from the so-called Weyl functions, from discrete spectral data, and from a system of spectra. For these inverse problems, we prove uniqueness theorems and obtain procedures for constructing the solutions by the method of spectral mappings.  相似文献

We establish an analog of the Cauchy-Poincare interlacing theorem for normal matrices in terms of majorization, and we provide a solution to the corresponding inverse spectral problem. Using this solution we generalize and extend the Gauss-Lucas theorem and prove the old conjecture of de Bruijn-Springer on the location of the roots of a complex polynomial and its derivative and an analog of Rolle's theorem, conjectured by Schoenberg.

Abstract

The inverse nodal problem for Dirac type integro-differential operator with the spectral parameter in the boundary conditions is studied. We prove that dense subset of the nodal points determines the coefficients of differential part of operator and gives partial information for integral part of it.  相似文献
