Tetrakis(2-pyridyl)methane has been synthesized as the first member of tetrapyridylmethane family by nucleophilic aromatic substitution of 2-chloropyridine with tris(2-pyridyl)methyl anion in refluxing aromatic hydrocarbons; the use of 2-bromopyridine resulted in electron transfer giving rearranged dimer of tris(2-pyridyl)methyl radical.  相似文献

A luminescent open‐shell organic radical with high chemical stability was synthesized. (3,5‐Dichloro‐4‐pyridyl)bis(2,4,6‐trichlorophenyl)methyl radical (PyBTM) was photoluminescent under various conditions. Fluorescence quantum yields of 0.03, 0.26, and 0.81 (the highest value reported for a stable organic radical) were obtained in chloroform, in poly(methyl methacrylate) film at room temperature, and in an EPA matrix (diethyl ether:isopentane:ethanol) at 77 K, respectively. The photostability of PyBTM is up to 115 times higher than that of the tris(2,4,6‐trichlorophenyl)methyl radical, a previously reported luminescent radical. The pyridine moiety of PyBTM acts as a proton coordination site, thereby allowing for control of the electronic and optical properties of the radical by protonation and deprotonation.  相似文献

The one-electron oxidation reaction of tris[di-tert-butyl(methyl)silyl]silyl and -germyl anions with dichlorogermylene-dioxane complex results in the formation of stable tris[di-tert-butyl(methyl)silyl]silyl and -germyl radicals 1 and 2, representing the first isolable radical species of heavier Group 14 elements lacking stabilization by conjugation with pi-bonds. The crystal structures of both silyl and germyl radicals 1 and 2 showed a completely planar geometry around the radical centers. The ESR spectra of 1 and 2 showed strong signals with characteristic satellites due to the coupling with the 29Si and 73Ge nuclei. The small values of the hyperfine coupling constants a(29Si) and a(73Ge) clearly indicate the pi-character of both radicals, corresponding to a planar geometry and sp2 hybridization of the radical centers. Both 1 and 2 easily undergo halogenation reactions with carbon tetrachloride, 1,2-dibromoethane, and benzyl bromide to form the corresponding halosilanes and halogermanes.  相似文献

分别以三乙醇胺、三聚氰胺为原料,通过酰化反应合成了三种具有配体功能的三臂原子转移自由基聚合(ATRP)引发剂:三[2-(2-溴异丁酰氧基)乙基]胺,三[2-(4-氯甲基苯甲酰氧基)乙基]胺和2,4,6-三(2-溴异丁酰胺基)-1,3,5-三嗪,收率分别为81%,69%和83%。以三[2-(2-溴异丁酰氧基)乙基]胺既作引发剂又作配体进行甲基丙烯酸甲酯(MMA)的ATRP乳液聚合,结果表明反应前期与中期具有活性/可控特征。  相似文献

Luminescent open-shell organic radicals have recently been regarded as one of the most potential materials in organic light-emitting diodes(OLEDs). Herein, we have synthesized two new organic radicals, namely tris{4-[4-(tert-butyl)phenoxy]-2,6- dichlorophenyl}methane radical(TTM-O) and tris(4-{[4-(tert-butyl)- phenyl]thio}-2,6-dichlorophenyl)methane radical(TTM-S), by the substitution of chalcogen atom elements at the para position of conventional tris(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)methyl(TTM) radical moiety. Interestingly, both TTM-O and TTM-S exhibited significantly enhanced photostability compared with the unsubstituted TTM radical parent. Moreover, the chalcogen atom also had a crucial impact on the photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY) of the radicals, i.e., the PLQY of TTM-S was greatly enhanced compared to TTM radical while TTM-O was nearly non-emissive. Particularly, TTM-S showed intense PLQY of 37.54% and 185-fold longer photostability than that in cyclohexane solution of TTM.  相似文献

We report here an approach toward the synthesis of optically active polyacrylamide bearing amino acid moieties, poly[N- methacryloyl L-leucine methyl ester] (PMALM), with controlled average number molecular weight (Mn) and relatively narrow polydispersity index (PDI, Mw/Mn < 1.3) by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) using initiating system methyl 2- bromopropionate/CuBr/tris(2-dimethylaminoethyl) amine. The redox behavior of kinetically stabilized dipnictenes, BbtE=EBbt [E = P, Sb, Bi; Bbt = 2,6-bis[bis(trimethylsilyl)methyl]-4-[tris(trimethylsilyl)methyl]phenyl], was systematically disclosed using cyclic voltammetry and theoretical calculations. It was found that they showed reversible one-electron redox couples in the reduction region. The anion radical species of the Bbt-substituted diphosphene and distibene were successfully synthesized by the reduction of the corresponding neutral dipnictenes (BbtP=PBbt and BbtSb=SbBbt). Their structures were reasonably characterized by ESR, UV-vis, and Raman spectroscopy, and the distibene anion radical was structurally characterized by X-ray crystallographic analysis.  相似文献

The efficient Cu(0) wire-catalyzed single-electron transfer-living radical polymerization (SET-LRP) in organic solvents and mixtures of the organic solvents with water has been thoroughly investigated.Oligo(ethylene oxide) methyl ether acrylate was used as an exemplar oligomer monomer to determine the optimum polymerization conditions for rapid,controlled,and quantitative production of well-defined polymers.The effects of Cu(0)-wire length (12.5 or 4.5 cm),ligand type (tris(dimethylaminoethyl)amine,Me6-TREN,or tris(2-aminoethyl)amine,TREN),and solvent type (dipolar aprotic solvents,cyclic ethers,alcohol,or acetone) on the polymerization have been evaluated.Kinetic experiments were performed for all polymerizations to assess the "living" behavior of each system employed.Importantly,TREN could be used as a replacement for Me_6-TREN in Cu(0) wire-catalyzed SET-LRP of oligomer monomer,which probably provides the most economical and efficient methodology since TREN is 80 times less expensive than Me6-TREN.The high chain-end fidelity of resulting polymer was experimentally verified by thiol-Michael addition reaction at the a-Br chain end and subsequent chain extension with methyl acrylate.  相似文献

This paper describes the synthesis of the novel bis[4-(N-carbazolyl)-2,6-dichlorophenyl](2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)methyl radical (2*) and tris[4-(N-carbazolyl)-2,6-dichlorophenyl]methyl radical (3*). A Friedel-Crafts reaction on [4-(N-carbazolyl)-2,6-dichlorophenyl)bis(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl]methyl radical (1*), 2*, and 3* leads to the introduction of acyl chains in the 3- and 6-positions of the carbazolyl moiety without impairment of the radical character of the molecule to give radicals 5*, 6*, and 7*. All of these novel radical adducts are thermally stable, 5* and 6* being amorphous solids by differential scanning calorimetry. Electron paramagnetic resonance spectra of them show a multiplet at low temperature due to the electron-coupling with six aromatic hydrogens. They show electrochemical amphotericity being reduced and oxidized to their corresponding stable anionic and cationic species, respectively. These radical adducts have luminescent properties covering the red spectral band of the emission with high intensities.  相似文献

The synthesis of polystyrene‐b‐poly(methyl methacrylate) diblock copolymers with a luminescent ruthenium(II) tris(bipyridine) [Ru(bpy)3] complex at the block junction is described. The macroligand precursor, polystyrene bipyridine‐poly(methyl methacrylate) [bpy(PS–H)(PMMA)], was synthesized via the atom transfer radical polymerization of styrene and methyl methacrylate from two independent, sequentially activated initiating sites. Both polymerization steps resulted in the growth of blocks with sizes consistent with monomer loading and narrow molecular weight distributions (i.e., polydispersity index < 1.3). Subsequent reactions with ruthenium(II) bis(bipyridine) dichloride [Ru(bpy)2Cl2] in the presence of Ag+ generated the ruthenium tris(bipyridine)‐centered diblock, which is of interest for the imaging of block copolymer microstructures and for incorporation into new photonic materials. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new method to test the antioxidant activity of polyphenols by electron transfer reactions to a stable organic free radical, tris(2,4,6-trichloro-3,5-dinitrophenyl)methyl radical (HNTTM), is reported. Therefore, the activity of the natural flavanols, (-)-epicatechin, and two synthetic derivatives, 4beta-(S-cysteinyl)epicatechin and 4beta-(2-aminoethylthio)epicatechin, can be differentiated by their capacity to transfer hydrogen atoms to 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical (DPPH) and to transfer electrons to HNTTM. The commercially available tris(2‐aminoethyl)amine (TREN) was used as ligand to mediate the single‐electron transfer‐living radical polymerization (SET‐LRP) of methyl acrylate in dimethyl sulfoxide initiated with the bifunctional initiator bis(2‐bromopropionyl)ethane and catalyzed by both nonactivated and activated Cu(0) wire. A comparative study between TREN and tris(2‐dimethylaminoethyl)amine (Me6‐TREN) ligand, that is more commonly used in SET‐LRP, demonstrated that TREN provided a slower polymerization but the chain‐ends functionality of the resulting bifunctional poly(methyl acrylate) was near quantitative and comparable to that obtained when Me6‐TREN was used as a ligand. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The synthesis and characterization of a new radical and its use for testing the antioxidant activity of polyphenols by electron transfer are reported. This new and stable species of magnetic nature, tris(2,3,5,6-tetrachloro-4-nitrophenyl)methyl (TNPTM) radical, has been characterized by electron paramagnetic resonance and its molecular structure determined by X-ray analysis. This new radical of the PTM (perchlorotriphenylmethyl) series, unlike 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical, is stable in conditions of hydrogen abstraction reactions. TNPTM radical is able to discriminate between the antioxidant activities of catechol and pyrogallol in hydroxylated solvent mixtures such as chloroform/methanol (2:1). These features determine the antioxidant/pro-oxidant character and the biological activities of natural and synthetic flavonoids.  相似文献

Transition metal-mediated atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP) is a ‘‘living'/controlled radical polymerization. Recently, there has been widely increasing interest in reducing the high costs of catalyst separation and post-polymerization purification in ATRP. In this work, trolamine was found to significantly enhance the catalytical performance of Cu Br/N,N,N0,N0-tetrakis(2-pyridylmethyl) ethylenediamine(Cu Br/TPEN) and Cu Br/tris[2-(dimethylamino) ethylamine](Cu Br/Me6TREN). With the addition of 25-fold molar amount of trolamine relative to Cu Br, the catalyst loadings of Cu Br/TPEN and Cu Br/Me6 TREN were dramatically reduced from a catalyst-to-initiator ratio of 1 to 0.01 and 0.05,respectively. The polymerizations of methyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate and styrene still showed first-order kinetics in the presence of trolamine and produced poly(methyl acrylate), poly(methyl methacrylate) and polystyrene with molecular weights close to theoretical values and low polydispersities. These results indicate that trolamine is a highly effective and versatile promoter for ATRP and is promising for potential industrial application.  相似文献

Fundamentals of copper catalyzed atom transfer radical addition (ATRA) and mechanistically similar polymerization (ATRP) were discussed. Special emphasis was placed on structural characterization and electrochemical properties of copper complexes. Recent advances in the development of highly active copper complexes for both processes were also reviewed. It was found that electron-donating groups (methoxy and methyl in the 4 and 3,5 positions, respectively) of the pyridine rings in tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine (TPMA) ligand, significantly increase the catalytic activity in copper mediated ATRA/ATRP.  相似文献

An isomeric mixture of a tris(pentafluorobenzyl ester) derivative of hexaazatrinaphthylene forms stable amorphous films with an effective charge-carrier mobility of 0.02 cm2/Vs, while the pure 2,8,15-isomer exhibits widely differing morphologies and carrier mobilities (0.001-0.07 cm2/Vs), depending critically on the processing conditions.  相似文献
