A previous study of the energy-momentum tensor in ?4 theory and spontaneously broken non-Abelian gauge field theories is extended here to show finiteness to all orders in perturbation theory. Divergences of Green's functions Γμν(j) (q; p1, …, pj) involving the energy-momentum tensor θμν and j particle fields are removed by counterterms of the ordinary Lagrangian plus a renormalization of the coefficient of the Callan-Coleman-Jackiw improvement term in θμν. Physically the extra renormalization means that the mean square “mass radius” of elementary spin zero particles must be specified from experiment.  相似文献

We consider the renormalization of Green's functions of λφ4 quantum field theory in an external gravitational field specified by the metric tensor gμν(y). Green's functions Γ(n,3) describing the interaction of j scalar particles to arbitrary order n in the gravitational field are shown to be made finite by the standard renormalizations of the flatspace theory and a renormalization of the coefficient of the improvement term in the action functional. These results in φ4 theory can be extended to all renormalizable field theories.  相似文献

It is shown that in 3 + 1 Minkowski space classical field theories with energy-momentum θμν(x,t) satisfying θ00(x,t) ? 0 and θμμ(x,t) = 0 have no finite energy periodic (or static) solutions. In particular this rules out classical glueball solutions. to Yang-Mills theories with compact gauge groups.  相似文献

In a previous paper wave propagation was studied according to a sixth-order partial differential equation involving a complex mass M. The corresponding Yang-Feldman integral equations (indicated as SM-YF-equations), were formulated using modified Green's functions GMR(x) and GMA(x), which then incorporate the partial differential equation together with certain boundary conditions. In this paper certain limit properties of these modified Green's functions are derived: (a) It is shown that for |M| → ∞ the Green's functions GMR(x) and GMA(x) approach the Green's functions ΔR(x) and ΔA(x) of the corresponding KG-equation (Klein-Gordon equation). (b) It is further shown that the asymptotic behaviour of GMA(x) and GMA(x) is the same as of ΔR(x) and ΔA(x) - and also the same as for DR(x) and DA(x) for t→ ± ∞, where DR and DA are the Green n's functions for the KG-equation with mass zero. It is essential to take limits in the sense of distribution theory in both cases (a) and (b). The property (b) indicates that the wave propagation properties of the SM-YF-equations, the KG-equation with finite mass and the KG-equation with mass zero are closely related in an asymptotic sense.  相似文献

We present a detailed discussion of the semiclassical approximation for the Green's function in the energy representation, G(qi,qj; E). In particular, we describe the way in which classical catastrophes influence the semiclassical approximation, and present a practical scheme to determine the phases with which the contributions due to the various classical trajectories enter the semiclassical result.  相似文献

A systematic approach to large β expansions of nonabelian lattice gauge theories in temporal gauge is developed. The gauge fields are parameterized by a particular set of coordinates. The main problem is to define a regularization scheme for the infrared singularity that in this gauge appears in the Green's function in the infinite lattice limit. Comparison with exactly solvable two-dimensional models proves that regularization by subtraction of a naive translation invariant Green's function does not work. It suggests to use a Green's function of a half-space lattice first, to place the local observable in this lattice, and to let its distance from the lattice boundary tend to infinity at the end. This program is applied to the Wilson loop correlation function for the gauge group SU(2) which is calculated to second order in 1β.  相似文献

The influence of the trace anomaly of the energy-momentum tensor of gauge theories is discussed in a spherically symmetric space-time. It is found that for pure electric and magnetic fields, the point β(g) = ?g represents a phase transition from any asymptotically flat metric to an asymptotically non-flat metric which turns out to be confining in the electric case.  相似文献

To make the gauge field theory foundation of the topological current of p-branes introduced in our previous work, we present a novel topological tensor current in SO(N) gauge field theory. This non-Abelian gauge field tensor current is the straightforward generalization of the Chern-Simons topological current of strings. By making use of the SO(N) gauge potential decomposition theory and the φ-mapping topological current theory, it is proved that the p-brane is created at every isolated zero of the Clifford vector field \(\overrightarrow{\phi }(x)\) and the charges carried by p-branes are topologically quantized and labelled by the winding number of the φ-mapping.  相似文献

本文构造了由多模复共轭相干态的相反态|{-Zj(a)*}>q与多模虚共轭相干态的相反态|{-iZj(b)*}>q这两者的线性叠加所组成的第Ⅱ种强度不等的非对称两态叠加多模叠加态光场|Ψ(ab)>q,利用多模压缩态理论研究了态|Ψ(ab)>q的任意偶数阶等阶N次方Y压缩特性.结果发现:1)在压缩阶数N取偶数,即N=2p的条件下,无论p=2m(m=1,2,3,…,…),还是p=2m+1(m=0,1,2,3,…,…),只要构成态|Ψ(ab)>q的两个不同的量子光场态中各对应模的强度(即平均光子数)和初始相位都不相等,亦即Rj(a)≠Rj(b)和φj(a)≠φj(b)(j=1,2,3,…,q),并且 ,则当满足一定的量子化条件(或者在一些闭区间内连续取值)时,态|Ψ(ab)>q总可呈现出周期性变化的、任意偶数阶的等阶N次方Y压缩效应.2)在N=2pp=2m+1(m=0,1,2,3,…,…)的条件下,若Rj(a)=Rj(b)和φj(a)j(b)(j=1,2,3,…,q),态|Ψ(ab)>q则可呈现出等阶N次方Y压缩简并现象.  相似文献

We analyze the first and second Legendre transforms Γ(r) (r = 1, 2) of the generating functional G for connected Green's functions in Euclidean boson field theories. By using Spencer's idea of t-lines we define and prove irreducibility properties independently of perturbation theory. In particular we prove that Γ(r) generates r-irreducible vertex functions, r-irreducible expectations and r-field projectors; moreover, Γ(2) generates (generalized) Bethe-Salpeter kernels with 2-cluster-irreducibility properties.  相似文献

Superconformal transformations in rigid (p, q) superspace are defined. For the (p, 0) case it is shown how the general superspace Noethercurrent for any given model can be reduced to a minimal supercurrent. In disordered anisotropic square +/− J Ising models SQ(p, q) at groundstates we investigate the pairs (pc, qc) of critical concentrations of antiferromagnetic bonds with concentrations p,q, respectively in orthogonal coordinate directions. We are led to pc(q) ≈ π(q) with π(q) from the so-called adjoined problem. This approach is well supported by simulations for different values of q on the basis of minimal matchings of frustrated plaquettes. In particular, pc(0) ≈ 0.21 from simulations and π(0) = 0.2113248 …, with the conjecture that pc(0) = π(0). The concept of the adjoined problem is extended to d-dimensional (hyper-) cubic lattices. We hereby obtain for pc,d especially in the sotropic case: pc,3 ≈ 0.154, pc,4 ≈ 0.170, pc,5 ≈ 0.178, pc,6 ≈ 0.182. Moreover, in analogy to SQ(p,q) we used the approach also for honeycomb Ising models HC(p,q,r) with no antiferromagnetic bonds in the third plaquette direction (r = 0).  相似文献

It is shown that the space P(Γs) of Γs-distribution functions ?(q, p) (Husimi transforms) can be described without reference to any conventional representation of the density operator ?. A Liouville-type differential equation governing the free time-evolution of ?t(q, p) is derived and solved explicitly; the time dependence of this solution supports the thesis that ?(q, p) is a bona fide probability density observable with optimally accurate apparatus for the simultaneous measurement of position and momentum. Liouville-type equations are derived also for the case when local interactions described by analytic potentials are present. Probability currents corresponding to ?(q, p) are defined and it is shown that they obey a continuity equation at space-time points. Reduced Γs-distribution functions are defined and it is shown that they obey a BBGKY hierarchy of equations. A Brownian-motion experimental test of the underlying theory of measurement is suggested.  相似文献

Some quantum integrable finite-dimensional systems related to Lie algebras are considered. This review continues the previous review of the same authors [83] devoted to the classical aspects of these systems. The dynamics of some of these systems is closely related to free motion in symmetric spaces. Using this connection with the theory of symmetric spaces some results such as the forms of spectra, wave functions, S-matrices, quantum integrals of motion are derived. In specific cases the considered systems describe the one-dimensional n-body systems interacting pairwise via potentials g2v(q) of the following 5 types: vI(q) = q?2, vII(q) = sinh?2q, vIII(q) = sin?2q, vIV(q) = P(q), vV(q) = q?2 + ω2q2. Here P(q) is the Weierstrass function, so that the first three cases are merely subcases of the fourth. The system characterized by the Toda nearest-neighbour potential exp(qjqj+ 1) is moreover considered.This review presents from a general and universal point of view results obtained mainly over the past fifteen years. Besides, it contains some new results both of physical and mathematical interest.  相似文献

Triple-sum formulas for 9j coefficients and multiple-sum expressions [with five or four separate sums of the p+1 F p(1) or p+1 φ p type, p=2, 3, 4] for the 12j coefficients of both kinds (with or without braiding) of the SU(2) group and the quantum algebra u q(2) are derived, eliminating sums over the j type parameters [q generalizations of the very well poised (Dougall’s type) hypergeometric 4 F 3(?1), 5 F 4(1), and 6 F 5(?1) series] from their expansions in terms of q-6j coefficients. The rearrangements of the derived formulas for generic and stretched q-9j coefficients (related to the q versions of some Kampé de Fériet series) are discussed, as well as the different versions of stretched and doubly stretched q-12j coefficients.  相似文献

The deuteron elastic form factors are calculated within the Bethe-Salpeter approach with separable interaction. The charge, quadrupole, and magnetic form factors [F C(q 2), F Q(q 2), and F M(q 2), respectively]; the structure functions A(q 2) and B(q 2); and the tensor polarization components T 20(q 2, T 21(q 2), and T 22(q 2) are investigated up to ?q 2=50 fm?2. The role of relativistic effects is discussed, and a comparison with nonrelativistic calculations is performed. The effect of the neutron form factors on the deuteron form factors and especially on tensor polarization components is discussed too.  相似文献

In vector spaces of dimensionn=p+q a multivector (Clifford) algebraC(p, q) can be constructed. In this paper a multivectorC(p, q) representation, riot restricted to the bivector subalgebraC 2(p, q), is developed for some of the Lie groups more frequently used in physics.
